It's been a good day. All set for basting tomorrow. In the words of the doc have 1 'super juicy' (yes her actual words!) follie at 23, and 2 others at 15, 14. lining all good so fingers crossed. Got the 'risk of multiple' pregnancy talk from the doc which I know they kind of have to do. Was even asked if I would consider selective reduction if got preggers with triplets! I was like wooo woman Let me get pregnant first! Then she went on to say chances of pregnancy with IUI so little anyway so not to worry. Ummm thanks for all of that!?!?

In other good news got a new job today. So pretty happy right now.
bugsy great news about your scan darl. Am wishing all went well for you as well pocket

thanks for your good wishes everyone ox

Teds77 · 11/01/2012 18:32

pocket am so very sorry Sad

scrummy lovely news on the follicles and hope all goes well tomorrow x.

Teds77 · 11/01/2012 18:34

Apologies for mix up. Meant to say I'm wishing sunnyg all the very best for tomorrow x Blush

lucylookout · 11/01/2012 18:43

Pocket I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope that over the next couple of months you get lots and lots of support, can relax and recover, drink and eat everything you fancy and come back to this ttc business with lots energy and optimism. I second Teds, it will happen for you, and soon x

Sunny, lots of luck for tomorrow Smile

pocket sweetheart I am so sorry to hear about your news. Nature can be so cruel at times. Sending you lots of caring thoughts and hope that you and DP can overcome this together. Do allow yourself to be sad too, it's all part of the process sadly. Thanks

Scrummybumb · 11/01/2012 19:00

sunnyg that's fab news! Good luck for tomorrow. And how funny that she started to go to such detail about reduction - like you say, let's get pregnant first!

bugsy thinking of you too. This is such a journey we take and in some respects, it really is kind of preparing us for all the worrying we'll be doing when parents, I guess?

bugsylugs · 11/01/2012 20:07

pocket I am so dreadfully sorry that things have not turned out how we would have hoped. It is so cruel worse I think than an initial bfn. There are no words. Cry shout hug dh you are both suffering. Take some time out to grieve. Good luck with the next step you will get there. Hugs am so Sad for you both

JosieSmith1 · 11/01/2012 20:44

Pocket I am so sorry to hear your news. Please look after yourself and we are here if you need a shoulder

I had a lovely weekend away with DH, really helped us reconnect, and I remembered how fun cocktails can be! And I had something of an epiphany - I am going to be ok even if it comes down to adoption. I am actually excited about adoption because although he/she won't be my biological child, I will be a mammy, and we will be providing a loving, caring home environment for a child who needs it. I saw a pg lady and was happy for her, rather than sad. I am actually ok with maybe never experiencing a bfp, or anything else associated with pg. It's not the pg that counts, it's sharing your life with a child and loving them and bringing them up in the best way we can. I know some people won't agree, but a sense of peace has descended upon me and I feel good about life right now. We are giving up on actively trying (although will still be enjoying the sex Blush) and enjoying life as it is without putting pressure on ourselves

sunnyg · 11/01/2012 20:52

pocket luv I am so sorry. We must have been posting at the same time. Am very sorry about your news. Like the other ladies have said do allow yourself that time to be sad, then come back raring to go. I too believe that we are all going to get the precious bundle of joy.

Josie great news about your epiphany. You certainly sound very calm and collected and that's fantastic.

MoJangles · 11/01/2012 22:57

Pocket pocket pocket sweetheart, what a shame. I'm thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs. Nothing i can say will really make a difference but I've been there and you have all my thoughts. We're all here for you when you want to come out of the cave, but I hope you take some time to be nice to yourself.

MoJangles · 11/01/2012 23:07

Sunny good luck for tomorrow. Bring on the basting and go follies go! Time to worry about triplets down the line, eh? Wink

Italian have a great trip. I'm not a prayer but I am sending you love and good vibes that everything happens right this time.

Thanks everyone for lovely ideas for donor gifts. I should have made clear that it's been the same donor each time, and this is her third donation for us. In the end I've got her the Willowtree guardian angel ornament - it's of an angel standing behind a child and holding it's hands, helping it to stand. I was in floods when I bought it.

She responded really fast this time and we got a panic call from the clinic yesterday saying EC is tomorrow, so I spent yesterday booking flights and hotels, DH is in the air on the way to the clinic now, and I'm off on Saturday for ET on Sunday, all being well. Eek!

Hugs and waves to everyone.

Pocket1 · 12/01/2012 07:28

scrummy lots of love and luck for today my dear x

And for you this weekend mojangles x

Thanks to you all for your very kind words. It helps and means a lot. xx

sunnyg · 12/01/2012 20:57

Hi all

Basting done. Now officially on the bench. Lucky I've got a pretty busy couple of weeks, still I'm sure I'll be fidgety in no time.

Very exciting news Mojangles. Best of luck darl ox

LissySilver · 12/01/2012 21:40

Pocket my love, I was so sorry to hear your news. I agree with scrummy and lucy-give yourself time to grieve. I'm glad to hear you have plans to try again. Sending you loads of hugs and chocolate.

sunny- Glad to hear the basting went well. Good luck on your 2 ww, and happy to hear you have things to keep you occupied.

Mojangles- How exciting! Wishing you the best...

Josie- How lovely that you and DH reconnected on your weekend away, and what a relief it must be to come to terms with what you have to do to have a child. No matter where it comes from, that baby will be YOUR baby, and you will love and nurture and care for it when the time comes.

bugsy, teds, lucy, Keziah- How are you ladies feeling?

AFM, had a growth scan and cervical measurement yesterday. Growth scan was great. Abdominal measurement slightly above average, but still within normal range, which is completely normal for someone with gestational diabetes. The big concern is the cervical measurement. At 32 weeks, I should measure between 3 and 4 centimeters, however, I measure at 1.2 centimeters. This puts me at a high risk for preterm labor. Doctor I saw today said that they should have been measuring me right up to 24 weeks, but I only had the one measurement at 16. I'd been pushing for more measurements, in case I needed a stitch. Oh well, all done and dusted now. I now have to be admitted to hospital tomorrow for steroid injections, and I'm to be kept until Monday because the steroid shots might affect the diabetes. So the steroid shots are two, twelve hours apart, and after the second shot I have to be monitored for 48 hours. Thankfully I've got nothing to worry about...baby is fine, I'm fine, there's no need to panic. I shall take my laptop, Kindle, and iPod, and pray that I won't be too bored.

Hi to all the ladies I missed....

MoJangles · 12/01/2012 22:01

Lissy eek! You sound admirably calm and collected, and it sounds like they're taking all the right precautions, if a little late. Maybe you can use it as a couple of days of me-time!

Pocket honey I've been thinking about you all day. It's just so cruel to put you through all the hope and then snatch it away. I've had a missed miscarriage and several failed cycles but not together like that. How are you doing?

sunnyg you're now PUPO, enjoy and look after yourself for the next headfucking 2 weeks!

DH back from his dash to Athens. His sample was good (he's been on antibiotics for a month to clean up his wigglers). The donor produced 5 eggs and was apparently upset that she didnt have more for us. I dont know how many she produced for previous cycles but it seems our chances will be lower this time. it only takes one, it only takes one, it only takes one...

bugsylugs · 12/01/2012 23:15

sunnyg glad basting done. Rest calm stress free rest ordered. I was advised no sex no swimming no. Hard housework inc ironing and vacuuming. Gentle exercise on questioning this equates to walking and yoga. Well that's what care said after et which must be similar for you
pocket you are in my thoughts.
mojangles and I thought our treatment was stressful. Waggle dancing champers for dh swimmers and eggs. It only takes 1 good luck for the weekend.
lissy so relaxation and rest for the next 8 weeks is it are you now signed of sick. Glad you will have the steroids on board they strengthen and ripen lo lungs. You do sound remarkably calm at least you will get away from neighbours. Do not forget ear plugs, squash if you drink it decaf if you are drinking it ? Your own pillow they are always thin . Keep us update we will be thinking of you
Hi to everyone

bugsylugs · 12/01/2012 23:16

wellerbabe · 13/01/2012 09:17

pocket just back from hols and caught up on everyone's news and really sorry to hear yours Sad hope u are bearing up ok xxx

Pocket1 · 13/01/2012 15:31

Thanks again for all your lovely words. Your support is much appreciated. I'm feeling okay-ish - think I've cried myself dry. I've come off all the pills and am waiting for my body to 'deal' with whatever is left (apologies if thats TMI). I'm a bit scared tbh... but looking forward to getting back in the gym and getting fit and ready for next time Wink

Mojangles it does only take one, and within those gorgeous eggs, that one is there just waiting. Thinking of you this weekend my love and i just know it will go brilliantly for you.

Lissy sorry that you've got to spend the weekend in hospital but it sounds as though you'll get the attention you need and deserve.

Sunnyg hope you're doing okay on the 2ww and not mentalling too much x

Love to everyone else and hope you all have a lovely weekend
xx

MoJangles · 14/01/2012 15:44

Pocket you sound awesomely positive after what you've gone through. Def throw yourself into recovering. Brilliant that you're able to face going round again. Hugs to you, brave girl.

Thanks Bugsy !

sunny how's it going?

3 of our 5 fertilised so 3 embryos at the moment. If all 3 are still viable tomorrow they're going back in. This means no frosties for a future cycle, so whatever happens, this will be our last try (6th cycle and I'm 44 and beginning to think people will laugh at me anyway, plus have spent everything!). Walking on eggshells but still smiling. Off in an hour.

See you next week, chocloate boobs to all Biscuit Biscuit

bugsylugs · 14/01/2012 17:21

Mojangles go embies go hope you have several on board by this time tomorrow

Keziahhopes · 14/01/2012 21:21

Hi to all. Sorry no posts for a while - spent 7 days on maternity ward with a rather nasty infection, so just home today. Am 32 weeks. Baby ok, just me that is ill - but the infection caused risk to the baby and I was in a side ward with infectious disease notices outside it. So hope all goes ok for you Lissy

Pocket so sorry to hear your news.

Mojangles 3 embies is good, hope it continues well.

sorry no more personals for now, bedtime!!

Pocket1 · 15/01/2012 11:50

Thinking of you today mojangles Smile

Teds77 · 16/01/2012 13:27

mojangles hope all went well yesterday and that your singleton/twins/or triplets (eek!) are safely on board.

sunnyg glad to hear you have been basted Grin

Lissy so sorry to hear about the added stress of the hospital and steroids but hope all has gone well over the weekend. You sound remarkably relaxed about the whole thing which is probably the best way to be.

keziah so sorry to hear about your hospital visit too. Glad baby is okay and hoping you are getting better.

pocket thinking of you and very glad to hear that you are putting together a plan for next time xx.

No news here just counting down the days until Friday?s scan?

JosieSmith1 · 16/01/2012 16:18

Mojangles hope all went well for you yesterday?

Hope you are feeling better Keziah and glad all is ok now

Teds hope your scan goes well

Lissy hope you're ok

I went to see my pg friend a few days ago and managed to have a really good chat with her about buying her baby things etc so that was a relief to not be jealous and upset, but I'm really worried about her. Her anxiety is so bad she is having panic attacks in her flat, and she's been told by the council that they won't move her out of the flat (she's on 10th floor of a high rise) until they have a birth certificate, despite saying they don't allow children in her block. So she's very worried about having to live in her 1 bedroomed flat with hubby and newborn. I'm really worried the stress is going to be too much, it's getting there already and baby hasn't even been born yet! I've no idea how she's going to cope with a baby Confused

Anyway, otherwise, all is good in this hood Smile
