rowingboat · 31/08/2011 14:21

Hi all

Lucy thank you, it's a pleasure to be back amongst such good company! Smile

Italian I'm not quite sure when for me. AF arrived again last Friday and is dragging on a bit, so not really back to normal cycle yet.
I have been told to contact the clinic when I have AF, but it's too soon after the methotrexate, so I hope to contact them at the end of September, possibly to start then. I think mid-October might be around the time for the next FET??
Depends how AF behaves.
Still not sure whether to go for SET or double transfer...changes daily.

lucylookout · 31/08/2011 15:09

WomanlyTales, 35. PCOS, Did not respond to clomid, #3 IUI, July 29, BFP.

keziah wonderful news about the scan - big hug :)
beginnings - good luck for your scan.

I had my scan today - it went by so quickly I feel like I missed it...but DH confirmed that no, it did happen and we were both present. We saw a sac and then a heart beat (117) - - they took some more measurements, said some more nice things and promptly printed out a paper that discharged us from the clinic and handed us back to our gp. I also got a small picture. We are dated at 6w 2days which is as I figure too.

beginnings · 31/08/2011 16:54

Oh womanly that is such fab fab news. Well done. Do stay and let us know how you get on.

Keziahhopes · 31/08/2011 17:53

womanly - a heartbeat, that is great news!! Now you can book your midwife "booking" appointment for 8 weeks if not done so already (I warn you it is all admin and forms, but necessary) - how exciting!!

marmitemad · 31/08/2011 18:49

rowing
I had to wait 6 months after my methotrexate injections (I had to have 2 lots) to make sure it was all out of my body as it can be damaging for future pregnancies but don't know whether its the same for IVF?

Pocket1 · 31/08/2011 20:54

Hi - sorry for radio silence - i was still on the old thread...Italian thanks for finding me and bringing me over, you're a star :)

hope everyone is well. welcome Teds77

italian hope you're treatment kicks of soon for you.

freetfree how exciting for you. keeping everything crossed xxx

i've made a bit of progress myself and signed up with a UK donor clinic - felt more comfortable with that than going overseas. Just going through the initial paperwork etc - and getting excited now. i'm being told that i may not have to wait too long for a donor (new clinic, short list) and i'm being ever hopeful. I WANT TO BE PREGNANT BY CHRISTMAS!!!

lots of love, luck and positivity to you all - thanks for being there for me even though i just dip in and out.

xxx

Italiangreyhound · 01/09/2011 00:33

Womanly wow, wonderful, so pleased. Smile. Glad you got a photo.

Rowing all the best, hope the period comes along and goes when you want it to.

Pocket are you going for donor eggs too? We have started now. Grin

I watched an amazing programme last night about a lady who donated her eggs 20 years ago, to a lady who had lost two children. It was very moving indeed.

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0146g40/Donor_Mum_The_Children_Ive_Never_Met/

All is fine with me.

I am now injecting with Buseralone and because of possible immunity issues I will be on baby aspirin, Predisolone (which I believe is a steroid), Clexane injection and Calcium supplements.

lucylookout · 01/09/2011 10:25

Womanly congratulations! Sounds like a great scan.
Glad you found us pocket. Where in the country is your clinic based?

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 01/09/2011 10:54

Italian - glad it is going well. I was on clexane, aspirin, prednisilone (yes a steroid) also. I found I bruised lots to start with due to clexane but it didn't continue too long - so wishing you a purple-less stomach!!

Good news pocket about waiting lists.

rowingboat · 01/09/2011 11:06

Hi all,

Beginnings you are a love! Smile I'm glad to hear things are chugging along nicely. Hope the scan all goes smoothly!

Womanly how lovely to see a heartbeat, you must be so thrilled.

Lucy how are the injections going? Do you have another blood test soon to see how it is working?

Keziah waves! Hope you are well and not too sicky.

Italian how are you getting on with the injections, or is it sniffing? I can't remember what my depo shot was, but it switched off my ovaries and I remember feeling dreadful - quite nauseous and very tired.

Marmite I only had one shot in May and have been given the go-ahead by the doctor for September/October. That must have been a real pain waiting so long. How long did it take for you to feel normal again?

Pocket that sounds promising. Have they given you any timescales for treatment?

Lissy I hope you are feeling a better and getting some energy back.

I'm still having some bleeding so AF is dragging on. I'm wondering if this indicates low progesterone or low oestrogen. Any theories?
I'm trying to decide whether to have two attempts which would be SETs or go for the higher odds of the double transfer.
On the plus side, if the SET worked I would have some money left and I would feel less pressure - until the final SET. The success rate is between 10 - 20 % lower with SET.
Already have a cold, fantastic! This is the downside of a transfer in the Autumn, I have been healthy all Summer and now - sniff, sniff! Wah!

frustratedchick · 01/09/2011 11:43

Hello everyone! Just a quick message from work to add myself to the list...

frustratedchick, 33. #2 failed IUI, clomid, unexplained infertility 2.5 years ttc with immune issues and very high AMH, starting IVF long protocol at ARGC next week and cant wait!

lucylookout · 01/09/2011 14:20

Rowing I took second injection today, then in 3 weeks I go back to ARGC for a retest. The results take one week to come back, which takes me up to about 2 days after that cycle's AF is meant to arrive. I'm seriously considering going in for retest 1 or 2 days early (I know some clinics test after 2 weeks so it can't be the end of the world) and that way I should get the results the same time as AF arrives and then maybe, just maybe I can start a cycle. I'm feeling seriously impatient. I really don't know how much longer I can take of this waiting.
As for your question, I don't think I have any measured advice to give you, especially not today, so probably best to ignore me, but don't want to leave your question unanswered. I would probably go for double transfer (if I ever get to that stage, that's what I plan to do). I'd just want to give it the best chance of working. I understand what you mean about reducing the pressure, but then if you don't get a BFP with a SET, would you wish you'd gone for double?

In my more insane moments I wish I could have twins, as in my head that would make up for the 2 I lost, but realise that is completely irrational [fruit bat emoticon].

womanly and keziah great news on the scans Smile

rowing really nice to hear from you again. Sounds like you've had a bit of rough ride lately. Hope you're feeling better and more positive now. I'm not sure what I would do in your shoes. Probably go with the two....

pocket well done for finding that clinic. You must feel relieved to have finally made a decision and can move forward.

italian I've got that programme taped and will catch up let the weekend. I also have a programme about six-tuplets to watch that DH has taped for me. I think he did that just to scare me off any idea of multiples.

Lucy ONLY 3 more weeks to wait....it won't be long now. Let's hope the drugs have done their job and your FSH behaves...

I asked DH to read bits of Marilyn Glenville's books (natural alternative to infertility and getting pregnant faster) and to my shock he's taken notice and was complaining how his wellman conception didn't meet the amounts she recommended Shock he actually went and compared his current vits to the books????!!!!!

Hi to everyone and sorry for not name calling, my phone is running out of battery

Dannygirl · 01/09/2011 19:57

Hi ladies, I wondered if i could pop in to ask a quick question, hope you dont mind . I am currently on day 9 of my 2nd ICSI cycle. The first was cancelled before egg collection due to failure to respond to drugs (i.e. the follicles didn't grow enough), and this cycle is looking to be going the same way. I am on fairly low dosage of stims due polycystic ovaries, so even though they have been increasing the dose each scan on this journey I am still only on 225 gonal f. I wondered if anyone had had similar experiences and could offer any advice about where to go from here or other options or questions for the consultant, I feel like we are throwing money down the toilet! We are at Hammersmith in London. I have posted on the main thread too. Thanks so much x

marmitemad · 01/09/2011 20:30

rowing sorry didn't realise your mtx injection was in may. sorry for your loss.
mine was a long long process as I didn't respond to the first mtx jab and then I didn't start to bleed until 1 month after the 2nd jab and after that it took 3 months of weekly blood tests before my hcg was < 5. I felt physically ok after the bleeding stopped but mentally it took me at least 6 months to recover partly because we had to wait so long I think before ttc again.
