So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Evening ladies,

Hope you are well? Just on our way for a weekend away, so if I go radio-silent it's cos I have no signal. I'll be driving to the the village on Sunday though to look for a wi-fi cafe, to check up on the run of BFPs!

Fx for all

Clandy · 19/08/2011 13:41

Afternoon ladies! How is everyone today any more exciting symptoms to discuss?? Smile

harrisonmum · 19/08/2011 15:13

anyone here trying to conceive a child of a particular sex? just curious.....

Clandy · 19/08/2011 17:49

Hiya no just going for it as not bothered which sex Smile are you? I know my ohs mum tried desperately for a girl with timings, foods ect and has 4 boys Grin

twinklytroll · 19/08/2011 18:12

I am five days until we can test , however I can feel myself getting prw menstrual so I think we are going to have to just keep trying.Sad

twinklytroll · 19/08/2011 18:13

No preference over sex.

harrisonmum · 20/08/2011 07:46

no - i read up about it and everything you had to do and decided that i couldnt be bothered which means i am obviously not that bothered about the sex of the child!! I believe the family you have is what you're supposed to get - of course I would love one of each but i would just be happy with a second healthy baby.... and there are lots of benefits to having a same sex family.

Am now on day 34 and no period..... but would have been SO unlikely to conceive last month as we only did it once anywhere near ovulation, and i'm pretty sure it was after ovulation.....

Good luck ladies xx

Clandy · 20/08/2011 13:29

Morning ladies. So I tested this morning and got bfn (was so sure I bought clear blue digital... Hmm can now think of lots of things for £10 I'd rather do than pee on it...) any way by my calculations i should be 12 dpo so fairly confident i am not Sad

monkeypuzzeltree · 20/08/2011 15:47

H Clandy, sorry to hear that, have to say I tested again this morning and got BFN so strongly suspect that this was not my month. Hey ho, off to shop to get OV sticks! Enjoy the rest of your weekend though.

HorridCold · 20/08/2011 16:15

Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been on here much. At the weekends I try not to turn on my laptop because it's a work one, so u have to use my phone which takes ages...

Anyway, sorry clandy and mpt about the BFNs, enjoy a nice bottle of wine and prepare for next month.

We've had a breakthrough here. I told DH that I wanted to stop trying NOT to get PG and he agreed! So I bought some folic acid today. Let the games commence! Grin

Hope you are feeling ok. Have some twiglets and a nice bottle of virtual wine to see you through x-factor!

Xxx

Clandy · 20/08/2011 16:50

Awww hurray HC that's fab news glad he is on board! Grin sorry to hear bout bfn mpt sucks doesn't it least we get another month of hanging out here!! Hope your all having fab weekends and stopping out this bloody rain

HorridCold · 22/08/2011 10:56

So how are we all doing ladies?

I can write a lot easier now I'm back on the laptop! Smile

We had a nice chilled weekend. It was really lovely. DH surprised me yesterday when we were out for a walk with DD, by asking what I thought of the name 'Toby' for a boy??!! Shock Yes, this is the same man that didn't seem keen on a second DC!

Anyway, I told him that I didn't really like Toby for a boy and we went on to discuss other names. So all good in that area at the moment. So I may stay on this thread for a little longer... Wink

So what's going on with our PG ladies, are you both OK?

When is it OV time for the rest? Apparently my most fertile days are Thursday thru Monday according to MN.

Clandy · 22/08/2011 13:44

Oooh thats a good sign HC! Grin fingers crossed you get lots of swi in.

So I tested today and bfn but have had some milk leaking so gonna pop off to docs I think n see what on earth it could be cos it is not a baby. Thought I would be a little gutted but im ok, can't try next month as off to the tt at the time baby would be born so I am hanging around like a bad smell for a bit now Grin.

HorridCold · 22/08/2011 15:46

Clandy, ooh how strange! Hopefully the Doc will be able to give you some info on what's happening! Confused

What's SWI by the way? Well I know what it is from the way that you've used it, but what does it actually stand for. When TTC for DD, it was BD (Baby-Dancing). How quickly things change!!

LOL

xx

Clandy · 22/08/2011 19:04

Ahhh I always wondered what bd meant had no ideas.... Swi = shagging ('scuse language Grin) with intent (to get pregnant) Blush

HerniaGranger · 22/08/2011 21:43

Evening ladies. Hope you're all ok. Great news about DH's change of heart HC - he knows it makes sense!

Sorry about BFN Clandy and do let us know what GP says about your milkers, well, producing milk? Hmm

On the subject of boobs, I've now got huge thermal norks so body has definitely kicked into pregnancy production mode. I had a really busy weekend so just enjoying a quick lie down to recuperate. Btw, tested again over weekend to make sure and got a luverly dark line on stick Grin

Numberjacker - how was the weekend away?

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 01:21

Sorry about the negatives monkey and Clancy. As I expected my period started this evening . Am very upset but just have to keep trying.

HorridCold · 23/08/2011 08:29

Ahhh Twinkly I'm sorry... Sad It's crap isn't it... Hopefully things will change next month. Sending you some Wine and big hugs! x

Hernia Grin at your huge norks!! I have to admit that I found the tiredness the worst bit. Goodness knows how I'll cope when my time comes because I would go to bed at 8pm now if I had chance to!! Take it easy hun.

Clandy, BD always just used to make us giggle so I think SWI is a much better acronym for what we're really doing!

So, work is really busy at the moment but it doesn't stop me coming on here and getting my MN fix on a daily basis. I won't be online on Thursday though as I have to drive up to Reading on business for the day - boo hiss!

Right, I'd better get on with it. Catch up with you all later.

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 10:48

Thanks horrid.

Congratulations Hernia. I was on my iphone last night which made it difficult to read everyone's posts so I didn't say last night.

monkeypuzzeltree · 23/08/2011 12:40

HOLY COW.

I normally have a 28 or 29 day cycle, so when AF didn't appear yesterday didn't think much of it. Have had BFN's since thursday so was convinced I was not and pretty sure I OV'd later and we didn't SWI at the right time. Did I mention the raging PMT I've had - poor DH. Not to mention the 3 cigarettes I decided to have yesterday....bugger, bugger.

And now, I thought oh hell, gonna PO the last stick and I got a faint positive. Don't know what to think, surely you wouldn't get a faint positive on the day or day after AF was due.

Might wait a bit until this afternoon and try again.

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 13:15

Monkey that is fabulous.

My cycles are shortening again, they went up to 38 days at one point, which I am taking as a good sign.

HorridCold · 23/08/2011 13:25

Oh goodness MPT

Normally you don't get positives at all if you're not PG and it totally depends on the type of test and the strength of them. I would suggest that you look for a really accurate test (the side of the box has a strength of them normally) and test again. As you say, if you didn't OV when you thought you did, you could have OVd much later and so are earlier on in your PG than when your AF would have been due, if you get my drift... That would explain why the line is lighter.

I'm getting secretly excited for you - think positive thoughts honey! Smile

xx

HorridCold · 23/08/2011 13:27

twinklytroll, that is good, it's horrid when your cycle lengths keep on changing... Are you charting or able to work out quite accurately when you're OVing? It must make the 2ww a bugger if you don't know when your AF would normally turn up! Hmm
