So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

I used a superdrug one, it says it can detect from 10miu so that must be one of the most sensitive. Do you think it is worth trying another make or even a digital one?

Just kind of can't quite believe it could be true, was so convinced I was not and this is only the first month - so can't quite believe I could be that lucky. Don't even want to tell DH yet, just in case.

Clandy · 23/08/2011 14:17

Sorry to hear bout af twinkly Sad like you said just have to keep at it!

HC I can honestly tell you there is No dancing involved when we are swi, makes it sound a bit to romantic for my liking Grin

Ooooh mpt what lovely news, like others have said a positive is a positive and unless you know for sure when ov happened could have been late. Get another test quick and tell us (and dp Smile) keeping fingers crossed for now Smile

Numberjacker · 23/08/2011 14:37

Hi all, Am back in signal range! Blimey, you've given me a lot to catch upon!

Sorry about your BFN, Clandy, hope you're ok?
Nice work HC. Men always come round to (our) the right way of thinking in the end.
Great news MPT,go digital girl, and confirm your suspicions, am v excited for you.
Hi Twinkly, don't think we've met yet but was sorry to hear about AF Sad.

monkeypuzzeltree · 23/08/2011 14:45

Would you bother with a cb digital in the afternoon? If I try not to drink much until say dinner time? This has thrown me! Last time I got a bfp 4 days before af due, so I am finding this a little odd!

Clandy · 23/08/2011 14:47

Thanks numberjacker, I am ok just wishing af to show up so I know things are happening after coming off pill I know it's early days yet but last time I came off pill years ago I didn't have one in the 6 months I was off it. Gonna stay positive tho cos I don't want to stress bout ttc cos apparently that can cause problems in itself. Just gonna keep up with the nice undies and lure oh into some/ many early nights Grin can't be a bad thing

Clandy · 23/08/2011 14:47

Ps how was the w/e away??

HorridCold · 23/08/2011 14:59

MPT, I wouldn't wait if you can... But totally understand if you can't! Smile But once you have your next BFP, wait a little while. You will drive yourself mad comparing the 'darkness' of the lines and start thinking that things are going awry.

So maybe test once more and then try and wait a week or so and only test again if you're feeling unsure after that.

Clandy it's so tricky isn't it. I know that even though we're not officially TTC, in my mind I will be. And as I got a BFP in the first month, I will be expecting it to happen again, not sure how I'll cope if it doesn't happen... But I try and keep remembering that I was just incredibly lucky last time.

Luckily though, my work is so busy that I won't be able to dash out and buy tests, so I'll just have to wait until AF doesn't arrives to know for sure! Smile

Hi Numberjacker - we missed you!

A nice choccy biccie anyone?

xxx

Numberjacker · 23/08/2011 15:10

Hi MPT, am pretty sure CB digital are accurate any time of day once AF date passed, i think it is only in the morning wen early testing. Or you could wait until morning...... But that's so unreasonable to expect you to wait so if it was me I'd pootle out and get a CBD. (but don't let me talk you into spending money!!)

Clandy - so glad you're staying positive.
I went 56 days after pill before AF showed up, although half way through I had raging pmt (day 28 ish) and so I think I had everything except the actual AF, if that makes sense? So are there any patterns like this you could chart to get an idea of your possible cycles?

It will happen, it is just a matter of time, and i bet you'll be sporting a fab bump at the TT next year!

Had a fab and relaxing weekend away, thanks. Ov is anytime from today to Friday i think, so got a bit of SWI in, just In case Wink. Had a good chat with DH too as was really down about recent AFs (on 4th cycle) as it happened first time with DD. He is totally fabulous and says we must SWI every day to be absolutely sure - hurrah!!
I told him about our little thread, and that of course I don't go into any detail about our plans/activities. Wink He thinks I sit here and just eat virtual cake. But it is so nice to have people i can chat to, who are in the same boat.

monkeypuzzeltree · 23/08/2011 15:25

Right, off to town .... DD will be thrilled!

Totally agree numberjacker it is great being able to talk to others in said boat.

HorridCold · 23/08/2011 15:39

NumberJacker, you're not wrong about having the support. When I was TTC with DD I joined my first MN thread (well actually two - but one I started myself) in the May, and was planning to TTC in the June. They went through everything with me, TTCing, the first MC, then it not happening straight after the MC, then being PG 6 weeks later, then the high Downs risk, then the Gestational Diabetes and then finally DD's horrendous birth.

It's amazing how close you start to feel to people that you don't know. I cried so much for others on that thread who suffered MCs or had worrying test results and most importantly, I learnt so much! But the celebrations were the best bit.

We had one amazing lady who had been TTC DC2 for 9 years!! Within 2 months of being on our thread, she was PG. She's recently had her DD2. Lots of tears have been shed while reading posts on MN.

Goodness, listen to me!! I can hear all those mini violins playing... Wink

I just hope that some of you girls stick around until the end as the support can be great.

Right - off to do some more work now.

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 16:24

Horrid I just recording my Cycle lengths and recording symptoms associated with ovulation.

I am trying to be quite relaxed about it all as my body does not respond well to stress at all.

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 16:29

What is 2ww? Sorry I am new at this .

I have just checked and my longest cycle was 44 days which is when I went to the doctor . It is now down to 30 days and has been so file a few months. As I said hopefully a good sign.

Numberjacker · 23/08/2011 16:46

I'll definitely be sticking around! All this lovely cake and moral support, even if am lucky enough to get a BFP, you're stuck with me.

2ww is the 2 week wait, the period between Ov and BFP (and hopefully not AF). Where everyone gets busy symptom-spotting.

monkeypuzzeltree · 23/08/2011 17:56

BFN on cb digi. So until morning I wait! V odd. Thanks for your words this pm though!

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 18:01

Thanks Numberjacker for the translation service, yes it does make it worse when you are not sure when your period will start. Hopefully though it is all settling down.

Clandy · 23/08/2011 19:10

Thanks numberjacker that made me feel better Smile. Think I will start making little notes if what is expected ect n see if there are patterns

Yeah it's so lovely to meet people in the same position and have the support of everyone here does help alot and makes me feel a bit more normal (no offense intended but sometimes it's easy to feel like the only person in the world who feels a certain way) I shall be sticking round for the long haul. Grin

It is funny all the acronyms used I have started using them in rl and feel a bit of a numpty saying bfn haha.

Aww look at us getting all sentimental.... On another note: HC hope you get lots of everyday action Grin and get that bfp!

Tried to book docs bout boobie issue they can see me 9th september as it's none emergency... Thanks for that!!

HorridCold · 23/08/2011 20:03

Blimey clandy that's rubbish! I would have said that it's an emergency...Wink

Did you see Eastenders tonight and the Whitney storyline? My friend is a mental health nurse and she said that this grooming of women goes on all over. Some single mothers are groomed so that even their children can be used. It's scary what goes on out there...

Right, on that note I am passing around the nuts, chocolate and crisp!

twinklytroll · 23/08/2011 21:22

It made me run cold Eastenders, it should be shown much later IMO.

Numberjacker · 23/08/2011 21:39

How bizarre MPT, did u get get a pack of two CBD so you can do another tomorrow, or the day after?

FX!!!!

Numberjacker · 23/08/2011 21:42

Clandy - that's an awful long time to wait, perhaps you should upgrade stays to emergency. Does NHS direct still exist? They would be good for advice on if it is urgent or not, although I have a feeling they might have been disbanded and not replaced.

Clandy · 23/08/2011 21:52

Yeah I rang nhs direct on Saturday n nurse said sounds like pregnant but too early for test to show so consider you are n go to docs. But I tested on Monday n bfn n it would have shown I think. Might just tell a little white lie to get an emergency appointment Blush just to see what it could be!!

Don't watch eastenders sorry so can be of no help! It is scary tho my Sis trained to be mental health nurse n some things she said are mad ESP as some of the people live quite close!!

Numberjacker · 23/08/2011 22:24

I would Clandy. Am sure it is pg related, but as it could be a sign of anything, they would take it seriously am sure.

I don't watch Enders either,I find it a bit depressing to be honest. I love anything with kirstie and Phil or Sarah Beeny so my tv viewing is pretty much covered by C4 and More4! Which, from what you're all saying sounds a lot less scary.

monkeypuzzeltree · 24/08/2011 09:00

Right, so this morning, did a superdrug one and got a feint line and then did the CBD and it said BFP - 1-2 weeks!

So numberjacker - you were right to tell me to go get the tests! Only thing is, I was a little stunned and DH was like a whirlwind running out the house so I was kind of left on the doorstep and didn't get chance to tell him!

So, there we go, just need to tell DH now, but not sure when, we've got family staying tonight and then I am going away and won't see him until saturday, when we are at a wedding. Think I will wait until sunday when I can tell him without waggling ears!! I think I feel a bit nervous about this one as it seems so odd that it took so long to show a result, would rather wait and see a CBD say 2-3 weeks before I get too excited.

Clandy - ring your surgery and just say you are really concerned and get them to bump you up the list. Alternatively, you could always try the turn up in tears route - only for when you really need it, but they do tend to see you, although you might have to wait a while. Lets not give up hope on delayed BFPs yet eh!

Numberjacker · 24/08/2011 09:07

Congrats MPT!!!!! That is great news! Feel very honoured to know before DH, we can keep you sane until you break the fab news. I wouldn't worry about the pos/neg thing, the hormone increases rapidly at this stage so timing of taking the test makes all the difference. A positive is a positive. Hurrah!

HorridCold · 24/08/2011 09:23

Oh MPT, that is amazing news. I remember when I got my BFP with DD, I told MN first aswell - LOL!! Grin

So I posted a really long message this morning and then MN went offline and didn't save it Angry!!

So here we go again - disclaimer TMI!!!

When we were trying for DD, I was trying everything that people suggested. One of the suggestions was that after SWI, raise your hips on a pillow to maximise the chances.

So did anyone else do this? If not, I'm thinking that it makes no difference...

The reason that I ask is that previously, when I did do it, not much (man's) stuff came out again sorry TMI. But if I don't do it (like last night), quite a lot of stuff came out again straight away afterwards.

Does anyone know whether it makes any difference? As we're not officially TTCing we're just stopping trying not to get pregnant, starting to raise my hips afterwards may be taking things a bit far and will completely take the romance out of it... Wink

Clandy, I would definitely call again this morning and get an appointment ASAP.

Big waves to everyone else!! xxx
