So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Yummy HC, thanks. Am loving that CM has 2 different meanings on mumsnet, not very flattering for the child minder though Wink

HorridCold · 16/08/2011 08:33

I know - LOL and strangely, I haven't mentioned it to her... Wink

MichaelaS · 16/08/2011 10:25

hi all. yum yum what lovely cake. i'll have 2 slices please incase i'm eating for 2.

Another test this moring, and another faintest of the faint lines. Am not completely convinced its there. So, still in limbo. Going to buy a proper test today, and tell DH i'm testing tomorrow, incase AF gets me of course. Am a bit worried that if I was pg the HCG levels are very low for the DPO so maybe its non viable.... just want to know for sure one way or the other! still, its kind of promising right? like, i can just lay about the house all day in case i'm pregnant and should not exert myself too much?!

Any news MPT??

HorridCold · 16/08/2011 10:57

Michaela, why don't you get one of the CB Conception Indicator ones. That way it will tell you in weeks and may give you a better idea of Viability if you really do want to know one way or the other... If it only says 1-2 weeks since conception (or 3-4 weeks pregnant) when you think it should say 3-4, at least you'll know. I'm sure it won't be that though.

I had a very faint line like that with DD when I tested at 10DPO and didn't really believe it... Remember also that all the tests are different strengths and will show up different strengths of lines.

I used the CB Conception one when I got to when AF would have arrived and I was thrilled because it said 3-4 weeks since conception (or 5-6 weeks PG) and as I'd had the first MC at 5 weeks, I was so much happier to have gone past that period.

Good luck honey!

MPT come on, where are you??!! Are you hiding behind the sofa?!

monkeypuzzeltree · 16/08/2011 12:50

Afternoon, been a busy morning, I don't normally get on here until lunchtime if I am lucky!

So, it was a BFN but really, what was I thinking at 9dpo. Hey ho, who knows, will steer clear for a couple of days...well at least that is the plan. Might go and grab some superdrug tests later for luck as they worked with DD! Ah, the logic!

HorridCold · 16/08/2011 16:22

MPT, I am absolutely NOT going to preach about early testing because I know how hard it is not to...

I dug out my old OPKs last week and they're a year out of date - damn and blast it. I certainly have no excuse to waste spend money on any more since I'm not even allowed to TTC yet ...

My friend's birthday cake was a disaster!! It was so light that when I went to put the buttercream on the top, part of the cake literally crumbled! So I called our other friend who is going to rustle one up this afternoon. So she will get two birthday cakes - the 'HC Mess' cake and the nice one. Does taste bloody lovely though! Wink

I should have kept yours for her and given you the broken one - I'm sure we'd all still have eaten it!! LOL

Clandy · 16/08/2011 16:26

Yum grabbing me a slice of the good cake, would eat it either way, got major junk food need today!

Gutted bout bfn's but still time yet Grin I almost gave in this afternoon as thought it would be great to tell oh as he arrives home but I am still ages off so thought of previous advice on here and didn't cave in. It is bloody hard waiting Smile

Clandy · 16/08/2011 16:27

Oh and mpt I have bought asda tests fro the same reason GrinGrin

MichaelaS · 16/08/2011 16:32

well have bought a 2 pack of first response (reputable brand, costing about 15 times per stick what i paid on the internet) and will do one when DH gets home then again in morning if not sure. CB is a good idea but have bought these now.

Coincidentally i have a drs appt on tuesday next week so if BFP can sort it out and if still worried about testing only mildly positive will ask for bloods to do HCG levels and doubling rate. Certainly don't feel like i'm about to meet AF and also have more CM than usual..... maybe i'm having a phantom pregnancy where i have decided i want to be and have "seen" lines that aren't really there!

Good luck everyone else and STAY AWAY FROM THE TESTS, at least the expensive ones!

HorridCold · 16/08/2011 17:17

Michaela, it's all looking really big fat positive hun - no pun intended Wink.

I symptom spot like mad (even on months where we haven't BDd anywhere near OV time... - if at all Blush), so I'm going to start writing all my symptoms down so I know which ones to ignore for when the time comes.

DH seems in a good mood tonight so I'm tempted to raise the TTC discussion again. It's so difficult because I don't want to push it and cause a row. But I've got my heart set on January and I really need to know if that's realistic as far as he's concerned. I am the higher earner so when on mat leave, it's really mega noticeable, so I need to make sure that we can save enough to cope for 6 months.

I could only afford 4 months off with DD and don't want to do that again... All big decisions...

Clandy stay strong girl, stay strong Wink.

xx

monkeypuzzeltree · 16/08/2011 19:50

Oooh, 2 double packs of superdrug early tests for £8.

Not that I will be testing for a while, clearly!

I have a supply of Wine for the night, pass the glasses around.

Its sounding promising Michaela, have fingers crossed.

Clandy - glad to hear dh is coming home!

HerniaGranger · 16/08/2011 21:10

You greedy mares! You ate all the cake. There's not even a crumb left and my fantasy baby really needed that cake tonight.

Have come to the conclusion that ache in pelvis was due to falling down stairs. Have also made firm decision not to test early this month. If I'm up the spout I'll find out soon enough and if I'm not; well we'll just have to keep trying.

Disclaimer: If I get raging pregnancy symptoms by the weekend, I may test on Sunday morning because we're going out with friends so I'd like to know whether I can have a glass of vino or not. (But only if I have symptoms - real ones, not ones made up in my head.)

MichaelaS - Fingers crossed!

As I am not currently occupied with SWI or 2ww-ing,or even peeing on anything that looks like a stick, I have baked!
My culinary knowledge starts and ends with basic recipes, so Ta-daaa. Flapjacks. ( or should that be flap-number-jacks? See what I did there?)
I don't want any of these babas going hungry...... Enjoy.

HerniaGranger · 16/08/2011 22:47

As long as it's not NumberJack's flaps Shock

Sorry - bit rude. They're a real favourite of mine (Flapjacks) so my fantasy baby and I will really enjoy them. Ta very much!

Clandy - Hope DP managed to get home tonight. Enjoy yourselves!

OP posts:
MichaelaS · 16/08/2011 22:56

mmmmh flapjacks! or flap-number-jacks - yum yum.

Well, I told DH tonight that i'm nearly 2 days overdue and had bought tests, and I did a first response tonight...... BFP!!!! oh my word, i can't really believe it. First month of trying and only managed SWI once at the right time, but it seems once is enough!

So wow, am so pleased. Am less pleased with DH who didn't seem to take any pleasure from the news but was more interested in the extra work this will create, but i think its just his way of thinking it through and i'm sure he'll be pleased when he gets his head round it. Am now petrified about being pg as is a high risk one but am also so excited!

Good luck to everyone else, magic baby dust to you all

HerniaGranger · 16/08/2011 23:04

Congratulations MichaelaS!!!!!

So pleased for you. Just enjoy your happiness - the high risk stuff is something you can think about another day. I'm sure your pregnancy will be managed really well.

Now, get to bed both of you. Awwwww....

Clandy · 17/08/2011 07:43

Aww congratulations michaelaS what great news Grin dp is prob just being practical and maybe a bit worried sure he will be just as pleased as you are!!

Thanks for the flap jacks one of my favs too!!

Well oh is back and I couldn't be happier. But I tell you what, if I am not pregnant I have got issues Smile only afew more days to hold out.... I will not test I will NOT test.....

monkeypuzzeltree · 17/08/2011 08:31

Michaela congratulations, great news! Am impressed at your holding put to test! Celebrate with a large RL cake!

So, it turns out I can't count ... Not sure how I came to think that I should test to today, AF is not due until Monday! So I guess that means weekend tearing at earliest. Let's hope my luck is still in!

When are you testing Clandy?

Clandy · 17/08/2011 10:36

Well I am horribly nauseous today had to make a few toilet dashes! So I think if I have sickness then in must have some hcg so should be positive. Missed today as want to use fmu so may try tomorrow. I sort of want to wait as at the mo I can be hopeful but still have the safety of not knowing for sure. If that makes any sense..... Now who has that paper bag....?

HerniaGranger · 17/08/2011 10:43

Morning all

Thought I'd come in for a bit of peace and quiet.

MPT - Your AF's due the same day as mine. How are you feeling?

What I said in previous post about not testing early may go ever so slightly out the window...

Pelvic pain still here (kept me up for a few hours last night) and I nearly threw-up this morning Hmm. Strange thing is it also feels like AF is about to arrive. Could be my head controlling my body but will have to wait a bit longer to find out

Got a busy few days ahead so that should help keep my mind from obsessing about POA!

Will catch up with you all tonight.

monkeypuzzeltree · 17/08/2011 13:21

No pains or anything just v.tired, but then, that is most days! Think I am peeing more, but that could be my imagination!

Is it just me, or does anyone else find an 18 month old absolutely shattering. I'm normally a strong person, v.positive etc. but at the moment I feel like she is sapping my energy altogether!

HorridCold · 17/08/2011 15:02

Hello all!!

Whoop whoop MichaelaS, doing a little dance for you right now!! Grin that is amazing news - CONGRATULATIONS!!! Smile Smile

Clandy, hope you're feeling better I am sure that you have morning sickness eaten too much cake - LOL!! Smile

Hernia, I know what you mean about symptoms that could mean both things. I was definitely weeing more and feeling nauseous, so in my case they were definitely in my head. Hence why this month I will write them all down so that when the time comes, I will discount them all and only count random, previously unrecorded symptoms!! How organised do I sound?!! Grin

MPT, in fairness, my CM , has the joy of having my DD for the majority of the time (Sad)so I tend to find that she really only exhausts me at the weekends. But even then, she seems to be very independent and I have been known to be in the kitchen for an hour baking and she will just pop in and out to see if I'm still there and then carries on playing on her own. I think I may just be incredibly lucky - I'm not gullible enough to think it's down to my parenting skills - LOL!! But when I see other friends' children, I get exhausted just watching them! I am a firm believer in being given what you can cope with. Someone looked down on me and though 'better give her a quiet independent type otherwise she may well have a breakdown!'. Look after yourself though, don't get run-down. But also remember that being very tired is a very good sign for being PG... Wink

NumberJacker, I've got one of your flapjacks stuck in my teeth and I've got the dentist with DD on Friday - you'd best make something else to eat so that it pulls it out! Some nice toffee maybe? Wink

Hope all is well with everyone.
xx

Numberjacker · 17/08/2011 17:54

Hello!

Massive Congrats MichaelaS, that is great news, well done. Now put your feet up and have a well earned rest. BFPs are sooooo exciting, hopefully there's a few more in the pipeline soon. You'll all have to make sure you hang around here with me, even when you're all up-duffed, or at least pop in to bring me the occasional snackWink..... I've got to wait until early-September.

I pmsl at the "flaps" comment, HG. Shame I was at my desk at work and spat tea all over my monitor - oops!

Clandy · 17/08/2011 18:53

Oooh some very exciting symptoms hernia fingers crossed for bfp!!

Yeah sure it was the cake Smile HC might have to stay away from it for a few days!!

Numberjacker I wondered for a while why you had to wait then realized it is actually august and September is so not long away

HerniaGranger · 17/08/2011 19:58

Hello ladies Grin

Today is DS's birthday so have had lovely day watching him open presents and eat daft amounts of chocolate buttons.

Anyway, was cooking birthday lunch for small family party and was feeling really off colour. My mouth was really hot, I still had pelvic pain and nausea and my boobs looked like two hot air balloons. Went upstairs to bathroom and noticed I was 'spotting' (in the poss implantation sense - not bird or train spotting). I tore open a test and SHAZAMM! BFP!!!

It was faint but definitely there so will test again on Friday. Feel a bit scared because it's so early but vvvvvvvvvvv happy. It's my super-son's birthday and I'm up a great big stick and couldn't be happier! Grin
