So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Do any of you ladies know much about dysfunctional uterine bleeding or have/had it?

Numberjacker · 18/11/2011 16:58

Three cheers for purple-bean! Have been thinking of you today, glad it is such positive news Grin

Sorry wifey, I don't know anything about that, but am sure someone more clued up than me will be along soon.

purplehonesty · 18/11/2011 17:12

Thank ladies, am over the moon - was prepared for the worst news, my boobs were even playing tricks on me, pretending not to be sore this morning!

They've told me not to lift anything, not even DS and to take it really easy, no stress etc. We are building a house at the moment so that is easier said than done.

How is everyone else today? I forget who else was having a scan today...hope it went well x

saxony · 18/11/2011 17:16

Congrats purple. Strict take it easy instructions now!! We insist you must sit on the settee all weekend munching on more pickled onions and discos Wink

purplehonesty · 18/11/2011 17:25

oh god yeah!! and cheese!
thanks saxony x

monkeypuzzeltree · 18/11/2011 18:52

Phew, scan showed our bean is fine today, heart beat and everything! Did look somewhat alien like, but hopefully that wil improve Grin

Purple, I am thrilled for you - but seriously, listen to what they said, rest, rest and then rest some more.

They moved my date back a little, apparently only 7+2, although I thought I was 8, but apparently that is fine. What was horrid was waiting for 2 hours at the EPU. We got there at 8am and you have to just wait, but seriously, the woman looking after the booking in was so rude, why do people work in these places if they don't want to be even a little compassionate, I said to her, after we had been there an hour and half, " I know it must be like guessing how long a piece of string is, and I know it is busy, but do you have any idea how far down the list I am?" I was really polite and she tutted and said, "frankly, it could be 2-3 hours, you just have to wait!" Gee thanks love, others had been in ranting, but I was extra polite!!! Love London hospitals - thank god its not the one I am having DC2 at! But that one doesn't have an EPU.

purplehonesty · 18/11/2011 19:24

Thats great Monkey - you are a day ahead of me I am 7+1

Sorry you had such a wait and had to deal with a moron to boot - I had to wait about 10 mins (I thought that was bad!) and I had such a full bladder that I thought I was going to burst. I feel for you waiting that long.

wifey6 · 18/11/2011 19:32

That's wonderful news monkey!! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy. Smile

Foundmymojo · 18/11/2011 19:37

Thanks purple and congratulations on your positive news today, sending sticky bean vibes over to you. I did think hmmm discos and pickled onions MUST be a craving but didn't want to say as you were still unsure about what was happening.

Monkey how bloody annoying to wait so long, must've been really hard. But glad to hear the good news!

Cosmogirl · 18/11/2011 23:15

Really pleased to read the good news on scans for Purple & Monkey.
Mojo - sorry to hear AF reared her ugly head. Fx for this next cycle.

Did any of you ladies on the BFP bench have any 2ww symptoms? Go on, indulge me! I need some straws to clutch on to!

Numberjacker · 19/11/2011 09:53

Three cheers for monkey-bean too!

In the 2ww I had sore boobs from about 9 or 10dpo but not every day, which was confusing. I also had a funny feeling really, really low down maybe about 12dpo onwards, which I can't explain very well. It was like something was moving/stretching inside.

Cosmogirl · 19/11/2011 10:11

Thanks for indulging me NJ. I think my mind is playing tricks on me as 2DPO is far too early for anything, but do feel a little crampy and quite bloated. However, on the 2WW you become hyperaware of everything going on in your body don't you? I guess this time next week, if I'm feeling anything, will be more reliable!

Numberjacker · 19/11/2011 10:26

No Problem, Cosmo. I did exactly the same to try and pass the time. They reckon some people "just know". I definitely wasn't one of those.!

shomes · 19/11/2011 11:12

So happy for you Purple and Monkey, great news, hope everything stays in place and you can breathe sighs of relief when you get past 1st trimester.

Feel really tired but will endeavour to get out and do the shop today :)

Clandy · 19/11/2011 12:04

Yey soooooo happy for you both mpt and purple! Sorry though that you had a long wait I'm guessing it was worth it though when you saw your little alien Grin

Sorry to hear af showed! Did she not read the signs?

Can't say I had a 2ww as such but first signs for me was really awful stomach ache that i had with DD must have been implantation or something so should have known, then a funny stretching/twisting in my stomach that woke me up at night if I turned over, still get that now.

hobnobnomnom · 19/11/2011 16:23

Grin Grin yay glad to hear good scan news, hob nobs all round to celebrate xxxx

purplehonesty · 19/11/2011 19:42

I had a 'feeling' I was pg too and I 2nd that twisting/stretching feeling in my tummy. My boobs were sore on the day AF was due.

agirlcalledvicky · 19/11/2011 20:40

Hey congrats on the good scan news purple and mpt- its such a lovely feeling seeing that tiny flickering blob isn't it! Smile

purplehonesty · 20/11/2011 19:58

I don't want to leave here and go to the pg threads. Can I stay until we are bfp and then we can change the name of it!?

Cosmogirl · 21/11/2011 09:17

Morning all, how is everyone? Hope you had a good weekend. It went very slowly for me - I'm not very good at the 2 ww. 4dpo today....
Have had a few 'symptoms'. Tiredness, early waking, aches in my neck and muscles, some twinges down there. Have two FR but don't want to waste them testing too early. Is it worth buying a cheapie dip stick one too?

Wifey - hope you are ok.
Saxony - how are you getting on with 2ww?
Clandy - how's the sickness been?

Waves to everyone else.

wifey6 · 21/11/2011 13:07

Hi cosmogirl....still no sign of AF...so that's 7-8 days late but did a cheapy dip-stick test yesterday...bfn.
Thank you for asking.
When can you test? Have you been ttc long?

Cosmogirl · 21/11/2011 14:43

Oh that must be really frustrating - not knowing what is happening. I hope you get some answers this week. Some women do take longer to get +ve results.

If I go ovulation time right then AF is due December 1st, so could test at earliest on Sunday (10 DPO) but that is prob too early. I bought two of those cheapie ones today - only £2 in Wilkos, so might use one of those Sun or Mon if I can't wait. I am hopeless at the 2WW! This is only our first cycle trying to conceive DC2.

wifey6 · 21/11/2011 14:55

Wishing you all the best...I hope you get a bfp!! Smile

saxony · 21/11/2011 17:12

Hi everyone...well Cosmo I am actually really calm this month, not even anxious or busting to test! Wierd, I just don't know what the matter is with me.
It may be because I have been a little uncertain of ov times and also due date of af so kind of feel a bit in the dark this month. I will start being more organised and consistent next month with ov testing. Af due Sat usually (but may be next Tuesday if it was like last month)

I am not testing until at least Sunday as I wasted a small fortune last month!! It was if I had ocd - "was that last test really a bfn? Oh better check again, just...in..case! Oh it was" Sad

I feel more calm and matter of fact at the moment but I know once AF pops up I will feel slightly deranged and depressed ha ha!!! Grin

Hope everyone is ok...

Cosmogirl · 21/11/2011 22:00

Well done for such a sensible approach Saxony. I think I need to take a leaf out of your book! Wishing you good luck for this month.

At least each day is a day less of the 2WW.
