So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

well Im definitely on the SWI beanch now as my period started over the weekend. Disappointing as I had convinced myself like you mojo that I had signs of early pregnancy. However, on the positive side I have at least had a cycle now so am going to try and work out when I am OV. Whats the best way without buying any fancy kits?

Cosmogirl · 15/11/2011 12:09

Hi Hobnob, good to have you joining us on the SWI bench! I went by cervical mucus last time we TTC. Do you observe changes in your CM? When you get close to OV your CM basically gets very wet and abundant and goes the consistency of egg whites and is usually very stretchy, so if you put it between your fingers it stretches quite far without breaking. When you see these changes it means your body is gearing up to release an egg. When mucus changes back it means your body is no longer in the fertile phase.

That is my understanding anyway. Also, ovulation pain (twinges near ovaries) gives me a clue of the week when I'll be ovulating. Good luck!

Cosmogirl · 15/11/2011 12:12

Mojo - hope you're ok. R u due to POAS tomorrow?

Nocoffeenoworkee · 15/11/2011 13:42

Thanks for the warm welcome, aren't you a lovely bunch?

Hobnob - when we were ttc no 1 I charted my temperature. It doesn't help to predict OV until you've done it for a month or 2 (it shows you that you have OV'd as you see a marked temp decrease the day after) but it does ease the 2ww as your temp will dip when period's on it's way and continue to rise or sustain a rise if you're preggers. You need to be consistent with temp taking though so this isn't one for a chaotic lifestyle!

Hmm, mug of tea at my desk time, anyone else fancy one?

Angelgirl79 · 15/11/2011 14:13

Hi all, i have just found your thread and wondered if I could join. Ive a fantastic ds who is 11 months old and I mc when he was 6 months old at 8 wks. We have been ttc since then with no success and af arrived this morning so feeling quite deflated and just looking for some moral support and people to share the journey with

Foundmymojo · 15/11/2011 15:44

Hi all and welcome vovere and Angelgirl79. Angelgirl I know that deflated feeling, hope you feel happier soon.

Good luck with the SWI cosmogirl and everyone on that bench! Got a feeling I'll be joining you on the SWI bench again soon. I caved and did a test today (CD27) and BFN, still got a little bit of hope as it's so early but feel a bit PMS-y really, have been irritable and tearful yesterday and today. God dammit!

Hobnob - Sorry to hear that AF arrived. I hate the fact pg signs are also PM signs - grrr. I used ov sticks this month, which tell you when you're getting a LH surge which indicates ovulation in the next 24-36 hours. They worked with dc1, but not so sure this time (see above!) They weren't too expensive just supermarket brand. But might try and look for the more natural signs like cosmogirl next time.

Angelgirl79 · 15/11/2011 16:18

thanks Mojo, fingers crossed for you! I have done about 6 tests this month as I was convinced with early signs. Its day 36 for me today so a long cycle and now got no idea what this next cycle will be. Are ov sticks easy to use? I just hate feeling so out of control with it all...

shomes · 15/11/2011 17:05

Clandy · 15/11/2011 19:06

Oooh you miss a lot when your stuck head first in a toilet!!

Big welcomes to newbies Grin hope you find this thread to be as lucky as it is appearing!! And all get pregnant pronto!

Excellent news on cbd they are the gods of pregnancy tests! Just made me realize I still have mine packaged up in my draw as only took one test and I was saving it til after first bfp so as not to waste it. Still never going to need it now as I am officially never ever going to have another baby after this one!! What you other ladies thinking 2 is the magic number or trying for a football team?? Grin

Numberjacker · 15/11/2011 21:50

Hi all. And a big wave at the newbies. Poor you Clandy, it must be hard at work if you're feeling sick all the time?
I have avoided sickness thus far, although it can't be far away! My sense of smell is so heightened everything is so overpowering, its only a matter of time before that turns into the real deal.

I am going to say we are going for 2, and 2 only. However I said this after DD and here I am, so don't quote me Grin

Looking forward to some positive stats coming in from the benches soon. FX.

Numberjacker · 15/11/2011 21:53

Forgot to say, Angel - if it is moral support (and chocolate) you need, you have come to the right place. So sorry to hear about MC and this cycle's AF, Try to think positive for this next cycle x

Clandy · 15/11/2011 21:54

Ah its horrible I keep having to run to the loo mid lesson/supermarket shop/meal to throw up!! Sad feeling a little sorry for myself if you can tell Blush

I agree tho need some more bfp's coming soon.

Hope you don't feel sick numberjacker!! Bet your ones of those bloomers with massive norks who has a healthy glow Envy haha hope so anyway!!

Angelgirl79 · 16/11/2011 09:24

Thanks numberjacker, congrats on your pregnancy, i remember the heightened sense of smell well....thats how I knew i was pregnant before the mc. Am thinking another cycle is another opportunity, going to try the sticks this cycle so fc x

wifey6 · 16/11/2011 09:32

Hi ladies...needed a place to escape today! AF due on Monday...nothing & got a bfn yesterday...very confused as all signs pointed to pregnancy. Feeling a bit emotionally fragile as also having family troubles. Decided to hide here for a while... Hope that's ok. Sad

monkeypuzzeltree · 16/11/2011 13:36

Wifey, it's always a bit of a sanctuary in here, fingers xed for you.

Clandy, sorry you are feeling so sick. I've been lucky to escape it, I have got the massive norks, but far from blooming, look like a teenager, acne, look shattered and am generally a bit moody, poor dh!

Am going for an early scan on Friday, just feel nervous about this still, hence why I am still hanging out on this side!

wifey6 · 16/11/2011 13:40

Thank u monkey...good luck with your scan...everything will be fine. Smile

purplehonesty · 16/11/2011 15:49

Hey guys thanks for the messages, am doing ok. I am in turmoil at the moment as I only had the one bleed last Friday and nothing since even tho it seemed quite a bit.
However I feel constantly sick again and am dizzy and got such sore boobs. Have been to the docs to get HCG levels tested to see if they are on the rise and cos I was feeling so shitty they have booked me in for an early scan on Friday at 10.45 to see what is going on.
I half think I might still be pregnant but daren't hope in case it is my hormones playing tricks on me.
Guess Friday will tell......(bites nails down to knuckles)

purplehonesty · 16/11/2011 15:50

Monkey good luck with your scan on Friday too; will be thinking of you!

wifey6 · 16/11/2011 16:17

Good luck purple....hope all goes well! Smile

hobnobnomnom · 16/11/2011 16:34

good luck purple, will be thinking of you xx

Thanks for the advice about CM, i told DH and he said he felt sick lol, if men had to get pregnant it'd never happen.

My DS is 11 and I kind of feel that he's missed out not having a brother or sister of a similar age to play with so I'm going for 3 clandy, at least thats what Im saying after many years of getting a full nights sleep and not having to change a nappy ;-)

Numberjacker · 16/11/2011 19:12

Good luck for those of you with scans this week, hope all goes well.

Not exactly blooming here, Clandy. Think more pizza-face and greasy hair with the energy levels of a lame tortoise, and you'll have a better image of me.Smile. Small price to pay, though.

I suppose I better go and make an appointment with my GP tomorrow. Have put it off in case it tempted fate, but I suppose I should get a move on now.

Hope your enjoying the time-out in here Wifey.

wifey6 · 16/11/2011 19:52

Yes I am numberjack....it's the only place I can discuss ttc & mix with like-minded girlies!

Foundmymojo · 16/11/2011 20:35

Numberjacker love your description of being 'pizza-face and greasy hair with the energy levels of a lame tortoise' Grin

Hope there is less sickness and more blooming for all you BFPs soon!

Wifey sorry to hear things aren't going so well. Have you done any more pg tests? I am in the same boat, no AF and BFN yesterday. DH has encouraged me to wait til at least Friday before I do another one. In the meantime fx for AF to stay away!

wifey6 · 16/11/2011 20:45

No I haven't...not since yesterday. I have on/off symptoms but I'm now starting to wonder if the herbal agnus cactus I am taking could be messing things up a little?

wifey6 · 16/11/2011 20:45

Good luck to you
