So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Hi Saxony - there will probably be instructions in with the ov tests which show you how to calculate when to start testing. It depends on your cycle length. eg. 28 days - start testing cd 12 everyday til you ov.

I got positive ov tests yesterday and today finally, managed SWI both days! Would be due AF on 16th Nov. Fx.
Do people normally preg. test on 1st day AF is due?

saxony · 03/11/2011 22:07

Thanks foundmymojo

Well if you left it til the day your af was due, to test for pg, you would be a better person than me!! I know a lot of us test a few days before because the suspense is too much.

YankNCock · 03/11/2011 23:32

I've just ordered tests online but they will be strictly rationed as I used about 6 last month for no good reason! First month TTC error, I think. I'm due to test on Monday, which for me is 12dpo (normal luteal phase is only 11 days, sometimes less).

Symptoms, none to speak of. Weird twingey cramps for a few days 6-7dpo, so was kind of hoping that was implantation. Other than that, nothing really!

Cosmogirl · 05/11/2011 17:23

Hi ladies, room for one more? Am on CD1 but planning to try for the firs time this month for DC2. Have a DD who is 2.7. Had hyperemesis with her pregnancy so it has been a hard decision to try again but I think I feel as ready is I'll ever be.

Usually pinpoint ovulation by EWCM, ovulation pain, and generally feeling more sexual etc! We were lucky and conceived first try with DD, so not sure what will happen this time around. Will try and read the thread over the weekend.

Clandy · 05/11/2011 20:02

Hi cosmo! Always room for one more as long as you have treats Grin come and make yourself at home

Cosmogirl · 05/11/2011 21:16

Thanks for the welcome Clandy and congrats on your BFP! Looking at the stats it seems this is a lucky thread - I hope it rubs off on me and the rest of us on the benches!

Well we've got in from fireworks display and DD is in bed, so I am sat on the sofa with Xfactor and a hot water bottle on my AF crampy belly! Have just inhaled a Wispa. Anyone else want one? Feeling excited about this cycle but also a little terrified of the Hyperemesis rearing its ugly head again. At least this time I will know it is all worth it in the end.

What do people think re sex during ttc. Do most people DTD every other day or do you go for it over the few days of ov each day? My EWCM tends to be ok and warning me things are happening..

Clandy · 05/11/2011 21:52

If it helps I had awful sickness last time and far nothing more than nausea so doesn't always mean you'll get it again, though it terrifies me as well and I'm just sitting waiting to throw up.

Would love a wispa - good choice Grin

In regards to swi we went for it everyday until bfp (well almost everyday - I'm not bloody superwoman Grin) and glad I did as had no signs of ov and I'm sure I ov'd very late (5weeks late infect!!) but if you get signs might not have to do it so much (unless you want to Blush)

Wifey7 · 05/11/2011 23:17

Hello...is there room for another?? Have been trying for a little while...but due to medical reasons...I am unsure of my cycle etc. You ladies here sound so positive...a refreshing thread. If ok...I'll hide here with you all??

Numberjacker · 06/11/2011 09:23

Welcome Wifey, and Cosmo too. I hope this thread brings lots of luck and the coveted BFP.
Here is some delicious treacle toffee (not homemade) to add to the wispas. Smile

We dtd every day (or thereabouts) around ov time when we got BFP. It took us 7 or 8 cycles and we had previously been every 3 or every other day. But we upped our game this cycle and it paid off. But that might have just been coincidence.

Cosmogirl · 06/11/2011 09:37

Hi Wifey nice to have another newbie to the thread.

Hi Numberjacker and congrats on your BFP. How far along are you? Thanks for the tip. I think we will try and go for it every day then from day 11/12 ish and see how it goes. How old is your DC?

Clandy - glad sickness is staying away for you. It really is horrible isn't it? Sitting here and feeling well I feel I could cope but it might be a different story if/when it hits again.

Numberjacker · 06/11/2011 10:46

Thanks Cosmo, am only 5 weeks at mo, so still early days. My DD turned 3 a couple of months ago. And here I am doing it again Smile How about your DC, how old is he/she?

Cosmogirl · 06/11/2011 13:46

Numberjacker - I have one DD also - she is 2 yrs 7 months. That will be a nice age gap between your two. I knew I wanted 3 years at least between, just may be quite a bit more than that depending on how long TTC takes.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. DH has taken DD out to his parents so I can get some cleaning done (so sneaking a quick MN before tackling the washing up). AF cramps are uncomfortable today, so trying to stay busy to avoid thinking about it. We are doing slow cooked stew and dumplings for dinner - feels nice and wintery!

shomes · 07/11/2011 13:44

The suspense is killing me and I still have 4 days before AF due, am not tempting fate because I feel miserable enough as it is!!!

Big huge spot on chin at the moment which is causing the kids in my class great hilarity!!

All be safe in the nasty winter weather xx

Welcome Cosmogirl and Wifey7, you've been added to the SWI bench (but please copy and paste and move yourself if you're actually waiting to test).

Cosmogirl, I had hyperemesis with DS so here's hoping neither of us gets it again.

shomes, I am also spotty, yuck.

Well, I don't know WTF is going on. I tested yesterday at 11dpo and got a very faint positive, but DH could see it, so I wasn't imagining. Then today it was negative. No period though, and my luteal phase is usually 11 days, sometimes shorter, hardly ever longer. I used the last tests I had, really hoping my order turns up today so I can test again tomorrow morning. I suppose it doesn't matter, I'll know one way or another in a few days I'm sure. (can't believe I actually just typed that) Grin

saxony · 07/11/2011 16:37

Yank...crossing everything for you! Let us know

Welcome newbies!!
My ovulation tests arrived Sat am so am supposed to wait until Friday to start testing them..seems like an eternity.
I can't believe we have had 7 bfps on this thread so recently. Brilliant news

Cosmogirl · 07/11/2011 16:38

YankNcock - sorry you suffered HG too and yes, fingers crossed, we get off lighter this time. A positive 11 DPO sounds very good. The next time you tested perhaps the HCG levels weren't at the highest - was it FMU second time? Like you say, at least you will know where you stand very soon.

Shomes - I think I'm gonna try and hold out on testing too as it won't change the outcome. Easier said than done though! Have had a really nice day in the house with DD today so not ventured out but did look very dull and wintery from in here!

Spots might be a good sign! Any other 2WW symptoms?

Hi everyone else.

Cosmogirl · 07/11/2011 16:40

Hi Saxony - crossed posts! Yes 7 BFPs is v impressive. I hope it rubs off on the rest of us soon :)

Numberjacker · 07/11/2011 18:18

Can I just add that I got terrible spots in my 2ww that led to my BFP, especially on my hairline on my forehead and my neck - it is def a good sign!! Grin

Clandy · 07/11/2011 18:59

I second the spots I'm covered Grin like a teenager!! Well The sickness didn't hold off for very long, was really hoping it would Sad least I know little one is ok... And that I never ever have to do this again!!!

How is everyone tonight?? Have you made doc appointments yet pg ladies?

How long til next bfp???? Grin

Clandy · 07/11/2011 19:02

Oh and welcome newbies!!

Sounds promising yank!!! When you testing again?? I cant stand the suspense Grin

YankNCock · 07/11/2011 19:06

Both tests used FMU and were at roughly same time of day. I'm wondering if maybe chemical pregnancy? I tend to get cystic acne due to PCOS, but these spots are more garden-variety which is a bit unusual for me.

I've had ridiculously high energy for the past 3 days. If you'd asked me yesterday I would have told you I was nesting 8 months in advance! Oh well, a lot of stuff is getting done.

My tests didn't arrive today so can't test tomorrow Sad Still don't feel like AF is coming though.

monkeypuzzeltree · 07/11/2011 19:16

I am keeping everything crossed for you Yank. Just to warn you though, those Internet dip sticks are not very sensitive, it was 4 days after my GDP before I got the faintest line on one. I swear by superdrug tests!

I second all the spotty faces, I literally look like a teenager, and I never normally get any. No sickness yet, but in some ways that's making me worry a bit. Was thinking later this week is time to go to the Roy for an early scan, my doc said I could self refer, so might do that to set my mind at ease.

Mind you, am sleeping like the dead, am so tired- its much harder this time round with a toddler! Especially one who has spent the day having mega tantrums - had one of those not getting back in the pushchair moments which involved screaming contorting body and utter hysteria. Joys!

shomes · 07/11/2011 19:25

Ahh, Yank, thats good news...ish, lets hope it works its way to BFP!! With my first pregnancy I had really low hormonal levels and got a faint line at 5 weeks so lets hoping this time its different!

DH surprised me when I got home at 5 after horrendous nursery drop off this morning and cooking club with 8 kids, he had bought an Orchid and made dinner!!! That really made my day seen as I have been so miserable this week!!

I'm passing the rose wine and crisps round now if anyone wants to join me xxx

YankNCock · 07/11/2011 20:21

shomes, excellent, I do love a good savoury snack. I'll pass around breadsticks and dairylea because I'm classy like that Grin

Reading a bit more and beginning to highly suspect it's a chemical pregnancy. Nothing to do but wait, I suppose. I would be sort of ok with that, at least it means I managed to get pregnant within 2 cycles. It took a year with my first pregnancy, then miscarried at 7 weeks, then took another 3 months before I got DS.

Clandy · 07/11/2011 20:59

Fingers crossed yank hope it is a bfp for you!!

Mpt get your scan sorted to out your mind at ease!!

That curry was a MAJOR mistake...... Sad
