So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Saxony, sorry to hear about af, I didn't use any OV sticks or anything but I know from last time I got pg that I ovulate really early in the month, so I was just SWI every 2 days after my period stopped. And we didnt do it all that often this month cos DH was on nights and then away abroad.

The previous months when I was trying I had forgotten about that and was doing it on day 12,13,14 etc but I was obviously too late by then.

Know what you mean about DH not wanting a bonk fest, I think they get put off by the ttc and it not just being sex. Men.

monkeypuzzeltree · 01/11/2011 21:35

Saxony - really sorry to hear that, fx for next month. OV sticks, I did, but all I would say is don't bother with internet cheapy ones, I never got a positive on them, ever! And last month I used them at the same time as using a digital one, and even on the day that the digital one gave a big smiley face, the internet ones did nothing!

Numberjacker · 01/11/2011 21:38

Sax - I downloaded a free app on My phone (just picked the first one). However a lot of MNers seem to go for fertility friend. I think there is a basic free version or you can upgrade at a small cost. Just seems a lot easier than writing it all down.

Mojo - is there any time between you coming home and DP going to work that would work?

Thanks Shomes, I like your thoughts about being able to drink for another month, that'll double bluff AF! MwaHaha (does best scary Halloween laugh)

Foundmymojo · 01/11/2011 21:54

monkeypuzzeltree - perhaps the supermarket ov tests are also crap. had you tried those? Or maybe like purplehonesty, I have already ov'd. Who knows!

Numberjacker - we've got about half an hour tomorrow if I get home from work on time before dm drops dd off.

So that's 5 mins to dtd, 25 mins Brew Plenty of time!

saxony, I think fertilityfriend.com is the best website out there in terms of comprehensive information, but I'm biased as I've been using it for about 5 years! Some things to remember, you can ovulate on different days each month, but your luteal phase (after ovulation) generally stays the same (and isn't necessarily 14 days). Ovulation sticks are to help you know when you are having an LH surge, which is the hormone that peaks just before you ovulate. So you are getting notice to SWI immediately, as ovulation normally occurs 12-24 hours after the LH surge. Temping can be useful for predicting future cycles, but you won't know until after you ovulate. Generally SWI every other day is the best way to go about it!

saxony · 01/11/2011 23:07

Thanks everyone for your advice. fx for all you still waiting. I will buy some Asda ovulation sticks this week ready for when af goes.
I have no worries with fitting swi in, would love to dtd every other day but seen as I have never been like that in the past I have to be sensitive. At least with the ovulations sticks I can plan it a bit better!!

Thanks peeps, you really have made me feel better. Thanks

Whooooo hoooooo!!! Excellent news Clandy!

I've still got weird twinges today, but nipples have stopped being ridiculously sore and moved on to 'mildly sore'.

Clandy · 02/11/2011 10:40

I have no idea!!!! I only tested as didn't want to go to docs and already be pregnant cos if they gave me something to bring on af thought it might harm potential baby!! Was so ready for disappointment then 2 VERY strong lines Grin I'm soooooooo happy GrinGrinGrin

YankNCock · 02/11/2011 10:59

How far along do you think you are? do you know when you ovulated?

Numberjacker · 02/11/2011 13:23

Oh Clandy that is A-MAZ-ING news Grin

Am thrilled to bits for you and DP.

When was your last AF date, have you calculated a due date?

GrinGrinGrin

Clandy · 02/11/2011 17:16

Last af was 31st august, tested bfn 22 nd October (had to check this thread to find out though) so roughly 4-6 weeks I think. I still cant believe it at all Grin I rang docs and have booking in app next week as said bout af and she said to come in and see!! Shocked isnt even the word. Thanks for the congratulations ladies have some cake on me GrinGrin (not literally tho)

nearlymumofone · 02/11/2011 17:37

Sorry I've been AWOL- I found I was getting too obsessed and stressed about the ttc already and my compulsion to go on MN was making things worse! Just popped by to catch up. Massive congrats Clandy that's brilliant news.

I'm using CBFM this month and cd8, CBFM says I'm 'high' fertility at the moment, so SWI every other day for me.

HerniaGranger · 02/11/2011 19:56

Congratulations, Clandy! That's wonderful news.

Congratulations Clandy, fantastic news xx Wow this thread is on a roll!!!

Foundmymojo · 02/11/2011 20:50

Congratulations Clandy!
Fx for other POAS/SWI people.

Foundmymojo · 02/11/2011 20:51

nearlymumofone - what is CBFM?

Clandy · 03/11/2011 14:20

Thanks for congrats!! My Internet decide to stop working last night just when I wanted it most!!! Fingers crossed we really are in a roll and all get bfp.... Then we will have to brave a grads thread together Smile

YankNCock · 03/11/2011 14:23

mojo, CBFM=Clearblue Fertility Monitor

nearlymum, wow, CD8? That seems early, do you normally have short cycles? Try not to stress, we'll all get there!

Clandy, the due date calculated by your LMP will most likely be wrong, if you've got a rough idea of when you ovulated, this page has a way to calculate from ovulation here Though they normally adjust your due date at the dating scan, don't they!

Crampy twinges gone now, nipples not sore. Thinking I'm out this month, but only 8DPO so can't really know for sure.

shomes · 03/11/2011 18:01

YankNcock- my symptoms have stopped too sort of, feel like i've missed the boat again this month, although I am crappy as hell and not due on for another week so god knows! So happy for you Clandy, hopefully your good luck will rub off on us too! xxx

Clandy · 03/11/2011 20:10

Yeah yank from lmp I would be 11 weeks!! Think it's more likely to be 4 rang docs to see what to do and she said go from lmp n made me a booking in app next Friday! Eek. Smile

Hope we get some more bfp's soon, come over for a rubbing tho to share the good luck!! Grin

How long til next person is testing???

Clandy · 03/11/2011 20:11

Oh just seen it's you yank! Not long til testing... Symptoms?? Smile

saxony · 03/11/2011 20:18

Hiya
Just checking in. I think I may have gone mad as I just ordered 40 ovulation sticks and 10 pregnancy tests from amazon!
My af should be over in the next day or two so when should I start testing?
