So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

OMG it's a BFP here! Can't quite believe it after 6 or 7 cycles without a sniff.....but it is a CBD positive, so I AM going to believe it. Think I mixed up my AF dates this month, but it meant I didn't stress about POAS to early, so probably a good thing.

DH is over the moon, as am I. Not sure how i go to work and pretend nothing is going on, will have to practice my poker face on the way.

I stopped off at Starbucks on my way, help yourself to hot chocs, lattes, and a selection of decaf drinks. X

I added a new bench Grin Only looked back at last 100 or so posts, so sorry if I missed anyone, please do add yourself!

saxony · 31/10/2011 16:59

Hiya, just checking in - af is 2 days late but CBD said bfn today. So what bench can you stick me on ha ha!! I have never been late, why now when I am ttc. This means I will have to buy an ovulation pack this month as I can't rely on a 28 days cycle with 14th day being my ovulating day.

I am so on the floor right now...I was really starting to get my hopes up.

Clandy · 31/10/2011 18:39

Wow yank you have been busy!! So excited for you still numberjacker!! I am still(!!!) waiting for af so making an appointment to see docs I think n see what they say, prob nothing Grin haha dont know what I'm expecting either not like they have a magical af wand they can wave and suddenly it's in full flow....

monkeypuzzeltree · 31/10/2011 19:24

Saxony, please get off the floor and sit on this chair. Here is a Brew now try to relax, I know it is so hard, but you never know if you OV'd late. Is AF normally on time? Can you get a First response, I think, maybe wrong, but think they are more sensitive, or indeed the superdrug ones are the same. With my first DD I got a positive at 10dpo, this time, when AF was 1 day late and it was the faintest or faintest lines ever.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Clandy, I hope your doctor has got a magic wand. Let us know how it goes.

saxony · 31/10/2011 21:11

Thanks mpt. That Brew was lovely. Yes af is always every 4 weeks.
dh tried to get a FR on his way home but couldn't get one in Asda, Tesco or Coop. So he brought home a Tesco one which I am very reluctant to use as I am guessing they aren't the best so I presume it will read bfn too.
Will try and get a FR tomorrow if af still hasn't arrived

Thanks again for the support

monkeypuzzeltree · 31/10/2011 21:19

Maybe its worth peeing in a pot before you go off to hunt down a FR Grin the things we do eh! Fingers crossed.

saxony · 31/10/2011 21:38

Hummm Tesco is a bfn. So I give up!! I think my af must have messed up for some reason this month.

Clandy · 31/10/2011 22:20

Sorry to hear of bfn saxony it's so rubbish isn't it having to ttc last time was a surprise and wish the same would happen this time!!

Foundmymojo · 31/10/2011 22:35

Quite late in the day, but please can I hide here too? Currently TTC no. 2. Mild anxiety building up and not even ovulated yet. DH on nights, I'm working daytimes Wed-Fri this week, window of opportunity seems small.

Congratulations to those who have been successful so far and fingers crossed for the others.

Welcome, Foundmymojo, you've been added to the bench.

Saxony, until you get AF you're sitting with me and shomes Grin Any chance you could have ovulated later than normal this month?

I suppose I should remove my Halloween costume.

Foundmymojo · 31/10/2011 23:14

I've just realised the thread etiquette involves the bringing of chocolate or ice cream. Apologies, I'm fairly new on here (lurker alert). Maybe that's why no one has posted since....
Leftover halloween sweets anyone?

Numberjacker · 01/11/2011 07:50

Thank you all for your kind posts, you lovely ladies.
Poker face worked well and as soon as i was back in the work groove, I forgot all about pg. Although was singing Lady Gaga after seeing MPT's post this afternoon!

Hope you don't mind if I loiter here for a while, I don't feel brave enough to move on to pg threads, and you gals have looked after me so well these last few months.

Hope you're doing ok Clandy. Hopefully a GP can shed some light on your missing AF. Will have my fx. I think docs can do something to bring on AF but I guess it depends if you want them to intervene or not. Either way they should be able to offer advice/experience on what happens next.

Hope you're ok too Sax, if you ov'd really late it might not pick it up yet. Do you take temps or anything that might pinpoint ov? I have also heard superdrug own brand are worth a try as are the most sensitive, if still no AF in a few more days. Although I am not advocating this - I personally hate BFNs more than AFs, there is just something matter-of-fact and depressing about them.

Hiya Mojo, welcome, thanks for the sweets! (chomp emoticon)

HerniaGranger · 01/11/2011 09:54

Many, many congratulations Numberjacker, MPT and everyone else who is now pregnant. So pleased for you!

Best of luck to everyone else. Clandy - hope all goes well with GP appointment. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm having weird little cramps, 7DPO today. Really really hope that means implantation! I had an implantation bleed with my first pregnancy (but I MC at 7+1), so I am obsessively checking for that every time I go to the loo. TMI, moi? Grin

YankNCock · 01/11/2011 15:40

Oops, forgot to remove costume. That's better.

saxony · 01/11/2011 16:49

af greeted me this morning.

I need to be removed from the waiting to poas bench. I was down this morning after building up so much hope after being 2 days late. Each day that passes you can't help but get excited.

Thankfully , this thread helped me pick myself back up and focus on another round of swi and 2wws.

Ladies, general advice - this is my second month now of ttc. Should I invest in some ovulation sticks? I presume it won't help you in the month that you try them as once you ovulate then it's too late? Are they more for helping you to get a pattern for following months?

Also the ladies who have been lucky this month...were you all using ovulation sticks or just swi like mad throughout the month?

Just need something to focus on for this month
Thanks girls

Numberjacker · 01/11/2011 17:27

So sorry Sax Sad. Chin up, it will def happen. I have never used ov sticks but temped out of curiosity and it did work, even though it depicts ov after the event it was useful for the subsequent cycles. I tried SWI every 3 days, the next cycle every 2, then finally every day. (don't know what would have done if that hadn't worked!)

HTH Smile

saxony · 01/11/2011 18:36

Thanks number.

Yeah I think I need to up my swi game but the only problem is that even though dh wants another one, he also doesn't want this to turn into a "bonking every day" sort of thing as we are not normally that way inclined!! He is more relaxed about it all and would be just as happy if it happened in 6 months. I on the other hand want...it..now!!!! Ha ha. So I have been trying to work out the best days to dtd to make sure each time counts iyswim.
I know we dtd twice in the week that I believe I ovulated (my cm was stretchy exactly as it describes it should be.) It's not loads I know, so I need to improve this month!!

What's the best website to calculate ovulation weeks - there are so many out there that it's overwhelming

shomes · 01/11/2011 18:37

Woohoooo, well done Number, thats great news!!!!!! I am getting funny cramps too and am on CD 21! Put me on the POAS bench for the 11th...am really hoping AF doesn't turn up, but if it does at least i can drink wine for another month!!!!

Ps..i've got loads of halloween sweets left (hidden from DH AND LO!!) so help yourselves!

Foundmymojo · 01/11/2011 20:35

Hi Saxony, sorry to hear that. I used ov sticks when TTC with dd and worked 1st time, and am using them this time. I think that if the test is positive, it means you will ovulate in the next 24-36 hours, so not too late. With dd when I got positive result, we DTD 3 times in next 48 hours and voila! Supermarkets just do standard packs of 7, about £8 I think.

I'm still waiting to ov though this time, it's now cd15, am wondering if it's ever going to happen as I was thinking I did on day 14 last time. However had a suspected early mc last month (bfn but i just sort of knew, symptoms not normal for me, late which is very very unusual etc), may have messed cycle up a bit. Thing is I'm now working rest of week, dh is on nights = very little opportunity for SWI! Sad
