So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Grr...every ov stick is negative and i'm getting really annoyed! I am supposed to be day 16 past period so i should be oving unless by some miracle i am Pg!!!! I am gettting all sorts of strange symptoms, last week was light headed, this week am nauseous but was last month before 3 day Af! Getting really upset by this now, might need extra batch of choc brownies!!! Have really been 'trying' alot too this week and last and now it might all be in vain UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Numberjacker · 28/09/2011 18:50

Bonjour Sax, come and have a sit down on the "AF due this weekend" bench.

Sorry to hear about the ov issue, Shomes. It might be that things are all over the place since coming off pill. I look back over my temp charts and the first 2 cycles didn't have the temp spikes and dips you'd expect with ov and AF, so I think for out first 2 cycles we were SWI in vain! Do you chart your temps? (am on phone so cant scroll down to see if your post says you are charting)?

Clandy · 28/09/2011 19:13

Hello YNC and sax and welcome (eyes jealously at all you waiting to test) hoping for some good news from you ladies to keep up my spirits (no pressure there Grin) although this mini heat waving is doing a bloody fab job of that ESP working in reception.... For some unknown reason all my lessons had to take place outside today!!

And definitely no early testing from all you grown up and perfectly patient ladies..... Or you'll be on time out!!!

Numberjacker · 28/09/2011 20:12

Too scared to look at Clandy, as I know she has her stern "teacher" face on when she said that.

I'll do what she says or I'll get lines to do..... I must not POAS early, I must not........Grin

monkeypuzzeltree · 28/09/2011 20:34

Yeah and Clandy has made me POAS monitor, so I have to look after them all until it is time. And I'll tell on you.

Here, hand them round, 1/4 pints of milk for everyone....!

Numberjacker · 28/09/2011 20:53

Eek! Will be on best behaviour then Grin

monkeypuzzeltree · 29/09/2011 12:56

Will be getting gold star from Clandy. Grin

thedogwalker · 29/09/2011 13:39

I don't have any tests, refuse to buy them until AF doesn't show, then I cannot be tempted, [polishes halo and hopes to get gold star from Miss] Grin
Hope everyone is well today xx

RIBS · 29/09/2011 13:45

Hi every1. Havent posted for ages, but been lurking a bit when ive had the (rare) opportunity. Im coming back to have a rant. As the sausage tea to get DP in the mood for swi'ing was all for nothing!

After only BFN's since coming off pill in Dec, and having some periods ranging from 5-8 weeks I got some Ov sticks weeks ago and as ive got PCOS dont think im actually ovulating as all are neg (typical!!) have also been having mid cycles bleeds. So you think AFs imminent then it f*ks off again! Grrr.

Ive been to Dr's & got appt with Gynae in 3 weeks. Which is another story in itself in the dr's having the usual internal checks and students in the room, of course. But I can now say I broke a students cherry, I was her first cervix! Grin Poor cow'l have nitemares!

Anyway, even with all signs pointing negative to ov'ing, im still symtom spotting. Have been bloated as hell on a night with headaches, cant bear the smell of some foods, boobs getting a bit tender (but not swollen) and knackered. (no change there)

Is bloating (and I mean looking 6months pg) headache n a bit of back ache symptoms or is this just stupid womany bits that arent working??

Wow. Thats a bit of a book isnt it!! I think I need a holiday!

thedogwalker · 29/09/2011 13:57

Hi RIBS Sorry that you're feeling a bit naff, hope things improve soon regarding OV. I also have lower back ache, I am bloated and have tummy cramps and have swollen and tenderish boobs and am wondering if it is possible to be pg (AF not due for another 11 days). So it's not madness, well not just yet anyway Hmm. I always said I wouldn't get carried away with symptom spotting but it takes over your life, every tweek, ache or pain, and I'm wondering, could this be it. So you're not alone girl. [hugs to you to help with the headaches]

RIBS · 29/09/2011 14:20

Thanks.
Ive been trying not to obsess about it, which is why ive stayed off mn for a while.
I dont want to test, as I dont feel my symptoms are strong enough and dont want to have to look at yet another BFN. It geto sooo disheartening.
Oh I need wine!! Glorious wine! And maybe some after 8s too. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

thedogwalker · 29/09/2011 15:01

Yeah I think being on mn has made me more aware of alleged symptoms and OV dates and other data that I had no idea about before, DH and I just swi and got pg with DS 1 without any of this malarky. But now I'm hooked and I find it hard to stay away, comrades in arms and all that Smile or computer style shoulder to cry on. Hope you get answers soon so that you can move forward or even better get that elusive BFP Grin

shomes · 29/09/2011 16:05

Thanks Numberjacker, hugs to all those trying too, and glasses of wine! Saying that though I had half a glass last night and was so dizzy this morning i thought i would fall over!
Haven't been charting temp, not sure how to do that or when? Any tips for me would be more than welcome!

XXX

thedogwalker · 29/09/2011 16:30

Shomes if you go back a few pages on this thread, Astro gave a link to a website where you can log your stuff and it works it all out for you. Apart from that I don't know how to chart etc.

RIBS · 29/09/2011 16:36

I was told by a wise mnetter to get one of amazon with upto 2 decimal points or something. Do it first thing b4 getting out of bed.
I literally lie in bed turn off alarm n pick up thermometer at the same time, stick it under my arm & try to open my eyes while waiting for the beep!!
Bloody things up and down like a yoyo tho. I go from boiling hot to almost dead. I think most prople are fairly level until ov'ing
I am a strange little creature tho. Smile

Thort I was ov'ing at one point as had 2 high temps in 2 days but sticks said NOoo! (in little Brittain Styleee)

thing1andthing2 · 30/09/2011 15:19

Hi ladies, just popping back in.
We're going to start the TTC in earnest this month, as DH's job has been pushed back and he'll be around until CD15 so we've got a good chance! Cross your fingers for us.
DD is 21 months today! And I'm spending my first ever night away from her - going out on the town with my best friend from way back and staying over at hers! And I just got paid! Not too many glasses of wine for me tonight though... (bad for TTC but also my hangovers are dreadful these days). Also I've booked a full head of highlights at the hairdressers on Monday. I thought I'd get the greys covered before potentially getting pg and worrying about hairdye.
shomes I use the temperature method for working out OV but I have a special computer for doing it called the ladycomp - it's made in Germany and has a computer program to work out your fertile days, apparently if you use it for contraception (which we did for 2.5 years) it's a reliable as the pill. It does cost ?500 though so it's not for everyone!

YankNCock · 30/09/2011 15:43

I might have given in and tested this morning. At 8dpo, which is ridiculous. I have no self control. But my temperature keeps going upwards, higher than it ever goes on a normal cycle. I keep feeling exhausted and falling asleep at 9pm (not normal for me), and I've got a weird metallic taste in my mouth or have been nauseous for the last two days. I must be imagining it, it's too early.

YankNCock · 30/09/2011 15:46

If you're new to charting, I suggest www.fertilityfriend.com. Loads of information, free charting online. And best thermometer I ever had was the Boots Fertility Monitor, about £40 (not sure if they still make them, but have seen them on ebay). 2 decimal places, an alarm to make sure you test at the same time every day, and it records the temp so you can fall right back to sleep! I tried with a regular digital thermometer and a paper chart for a while and gave up because I'd fall asleep before I could wake up enough to write down the temp.

Numberjacker · 30/09/2011 16:12

Hi all

Just on charting, i believe that temps are erratic in first half of cycle, but u get a temp rise just after ov. Then temp stays high until AF. If AF, it drops and if pg it remains high. So not good for predicting ov in that month as you'll see spike after it has occurred, but good for spotting patterns in cycles if you are doing ttc for a while.

Am off to a friends this weekend, so not sure when'll get chance to POAS, let alone report back here, but will do my best. am feeling AF-like today (boo). But will see what tomorrow brings or if I can get back on the wine until next month.

Fx for all POAS-ers and SWI-ers. Go girls!! X

Numberjacker · 30/09/2011 16:13

.

Our POAS monitor must be napping and she sneaked one past her Wink

Clandy · 30/09/2011 18:32

Ooooh yank I am so disappointed (Grin) gold stars all round for those who have not tested (casts teacher glance at yank!)

I am also out tonight for a meal, not alcohol involved tho as I don't drink. Hope you all have good times x

Numberjacker · 30/09/2011 19:04

AF got me on way home from work. Sad. What a start tothe weekend! Am allowing myself to sob in the car on the way, as far as the off licence, then stocking up the wine. On the plus side I don't have to have that "why aren't you drinking" inquisiton and can let my hair down, starting tonight. But if anyone asks me about having a dc2, a punch on the nose may follow.

Fx to the rest of the bench.

Over and out before I lose phone signal x

thedogwalker · 30/09/2011 19:16

Sorry about that Number fx for you next month, in the meantime have lots and lots of wine for the rest of us. Take care xx

YankNCock · 30/09/2011 20:03

Numberjacker, sorry to hear that, but at least you've got wine.

monkeypuzzeltree · 30/09/2011 20:03

Miss, Miss, thank goodness you are here, I've got something to tell you about Yank ..... oh, you already know. Hands monitor badge back in Blush

Clandy's post made me laugh, because that was the worst thing I remember about being told off by a teacher is when they say "I'm so disappointed in you". Just gets you...!

Sorry to hear about AF Number is rubbish. hope you have a nice night tonight, try not to bash anyone.

We are having a night in and currently eating large bowl of ice cream - well, it is summer! I'm thinking that it is time to start OV testing this weekend - just in case anything odd happens and I OV early.
