So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Premenstrual yesterday, AF today! Roll on the next month!

monkeypuzzeltree · 24/09/2011 15:16

Woo hoo AF arrived this morning....so here we go again!!!! Just so relieved that things have gone back to normal!

As for all of our concerns about sickness, coping with another one etc. seriously, if we think about it too much we'll never do it! What if I have another one who is this lively - I'll have to be committed to an institution!!

Right, off to find a nice warm winter coat, rather than doing what I do every year and wait until it is cold and then wonder why there are none in the shops Confused

Clandy · 24/09/2011 19:01

Wahooooo! Yey mpt that is good news Smile I have also done the same and my new gorgeous grey duffle coat is waiting for the cold.... Not going to be a long wait I shouldnt imagine!!

Clandy · 24/09/2011 19:02

Thing1 good luck for next month

turnwest · 26/09/2011 20:17

Well I ve just bought a parka for the cold weather, just to find out that there is going to be a heatwave this week! What's that all about then? Have nt read thread for a few days, hope everyone d ok, big congrats to Alison !! Hopefully the sign if things to come for the test if us.

Af finished now so I am limbering up for cycle 3, dh has got flu though so might have to wait awhile! I bought some new jeans today as well and hoped I won't be able to fit in them for long. Strange? Yes probably. Lol

Serendipity11 · 26/09/2011 21:04

Hi girls, we are TTC no2. I've not had a period for a few months and we've been trying nearly 6 months. Finding it really hard as so many people around us are falling pregnant. Have an app with the doctor this week, hopefully they can help me figure out why I'm not having a cycle.

Numberjacker · 26/09/2011 21:15

Welcome Serendipity! Help yourself to some flapjacks, fresh from the oven. They're a bit gooey (too much syrup). But you know what they say.... What doesn't stick in your teeth makes you stronger.

I hope all the TTC2 clan are all well x

Numberjacker · 26/09/2011 21:18

I meant to ask, serendipity, have you come off pill 6 months ago, or another form of contraception?
.....Tell me to mind my own beeswax if you want to

thedogwalker · 27/09/2011 13:38

Hi can I join, handing round Wine for those that need it and home made brownies for those abstaining.

My DS is 13 months old and DH and I are on our 1st cycle of ttc. It was my most fertile time last weekend and yes hoping against all the odds that we conceive on first time of trying like we did last time. I'm 38 nearly 39 and would like my DCs to be near each other in age and me to have another before I hit the 40 marker.
Mmm just noticed the flapjacks and helped myself to one Thanks number

Numberjacker · 27/09/2011 14:26

Thanks! Get stuck in TFW, I hope this thread brings you the coveted BFP Grin

Clandy · 27/09/2011 18:41

Oooh yummy treats and new people to join in ttc craziness!! Hello and fingers crossed for quick bfp's all round Smile

Loving the flower icon btw thedogwalker Envy

Numberjacker · 27/09/2011 18:53

Sorry TFW should have read TDW. Unless you walk fog and a dog ? Lol

Clandy · 27/09/2011 19:36

Or frog walker..? Haha as an aside I recently read a story about a woman who was captured on google street view 43 times whilst walking her dog!!

thedogwalker · 27/09/2011 19:39

No problems number, TDW is just fine, but I wouldn't want to walk any frogs, they might want kissing Hmm.

I feel quite cheeky hoping to get a bfp so soon, but I can't help but want that and I can't help but compare to ttc DC1. I thought I could be pretty laid back about it, but I have gone a bit crazy since thinking about it. Hope craziness doesn't affect fertility, that thought is crazy in itself. FX for everyone.

Clandy · 27/09/2011 20:39

It's not cheeky, think everyone wants a bfp on 1st cycle plus we are taught that to just look at a man without contraception will get us immediately pregnant Grin so it is what us expected!!

Based on last month (so not really anything) af should arrive for me in one week, then only one cycle til ttc. Grin

YankNCock · 27/09/2011 20:41

Hiya, can I hang out in here? DS turned 2 last month and I've finally convinced DH to start trying for no 2.

I have PCOS and am still breastfeeding, but been having periods (irregular as usual, not always ovulating) since DS was about 15 months.

Currently 5dpo and actually managed a shag on the day before ovulation, so now just trying to forget I have a stash of pregnancy tests sitting upstairs. I really need to wait another week at least. Please slap these tests out of my hands and tell me to do something constructive!

monkeypuzzeltree · 27/09/2011 20:45

Hello the dogwalker, welcome to the madness, and thanks for bringing the wine!

Hello everyone else, hope everyone is well, I am thinking we are long overdue a bfp, so if we can all TTC really hard this month - next month for you Clandy but thats not long - how quickly time is going!

I was just so delighted that AF has appeared and so all I can say is next week is going to be a busy week, DH doesn't appear to be going anywhere abroad which will help! Poor chap doesn't know what he is in for, am determined that after the last disastrous attempt, we get a more sticky one this time. Am slightly concerned that I am going to be totally paranoid - please try and keep me calm!

Please, help yourself to donuts, don't ask me why but I bought a big box and I am home alone most of this week, it is not good!

monkeypuzzeltree · 27/09/2011 20:48

dunks tests out of YankNCock's hands and hides them somewhere she'll never find them for a week

Will tell you where they are on tuesday and not before. Any pre-testing silliness and we'll have you booted out. We don't have any of that in here lady....ahem, don't read down the posts, they are all lies, lies I tell you.

monkeypuzzeltree · 27/09/2011 20:49

that was meant to be slam dunks and I have no idea how I made a link .... Confused

YankNCock · 27/09/2011 20:51

I read something that said at one week post-conception there might be enough hcg to show on the ultra-sensitive tests (which I just happen to have). I wonder what the earliest is that anyone has gotten a BFP? No no no no no no no no am not testing early! It is always a disappointment.

monkeypuzzeltree · 27/09/2011 21:39

10dpo when i had my dd. I sympathise, I have no self control with tests, but I am pretty certain nothing shows much before then without a blood test.

Put them back in the cupboard and sit back down!

Numberjacker · 27/09/2011 22:16

I have confiscated them and put them on top of the cupboard out of accidental reach. (and so i don't keep eyeing them up) My AF is due on sat, so I need you to hold your nerve with me, YNC, we need to be brave and strong and resist.

I was so bitterly disappointed last month when it didn't happen, (this is 5th cycle) in my case AF is marginally more preferable to the "not pregnant" in your face pee-stick.

thedogwalker · 28/09/2011 07:57

Hi all, I'm not quite sure when ovulation occurred, I am on 16cd and according to the chart thing on this site, I was fertile last weekend, hence DH and I swi all weekend. Sadly he is only home at weekends so we couldn't carry on the motion just in case i was wrong by a few days. Got really bad cramping today though and it's 11/12 days til AF is due Hmm.
I have no tests in the house and will not buy any unless AF doesn't arrive and then I cannot be tempted [dusts of halo] not seen that for a while Grin. Hope everyone is well xx

YankNCock · 28/09/2011 09:01

I'm not testing today. I'm not testing today. I'm not testing today.

I remember my first pregnancy (sadly ended in MC) where I used one of the cheap test strips somewhat early. I could see a line, but DH disagreed. I was telling him 'look, I've see a MILLION negative ones, I know what those look like!'

Holding nerve. Maybe I should get DH to take the tests to work with him.

Now obsessively symptom spotting. I was so tired I went to bed before 10pm, and that is NOT at all like me. And having weird crampy pains.

saxony · 28/09/2011 17:48

Please can I hang out here? This is exactly what I need! Everyone in the same boat and a bit of hand holding.
I have a DS (6) and my DH has finally decided he wants to try for another.....but it's still "not trying" iyswim!! I think he is a little nervous of saying "lets go for it" but we are slowly going for it!
I am so out of the loop with conception as it has been 7 years and I didn't make any notes on ovulating last time. (It took us 3 months last time which is pretty lucky reading other people's posts)
My AF is also due on Fri/Sat but I just took 2 tests (one today and one yesterday) and they both were a BFN. So look like it's starting all over again next month now.
At least I will be able to record exactly when I will next be ovulating so I can try and sneak in the best timed session with DH!!
It's so scary how you can convince yourself you have certain symptoms...like I have been really senstive to cat food smells this last week and also been having strange stomach pains..like a pulling sensation from the belly button.

Oh well....nice to meet you all and hope to hear some lovely news around here soon!
