So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Thanks, nice to meet you :) Chocolate brownies sound yummy!

nearlymumofone · 18/09/2011 09:56

Alison that sounds positive. Will you be testing today? Like yourself I'm not doing ovulation tests etc as with ttc#1 i became obsessed and stressed and fell pregnant once i'd chilled out a bit and stopped with the obsessing. Hard though isn't it, bet I buy strips next month. I have no willpower.

TMI alert!!!! On a different note, whilst I haven't been doing ov tests etc or charting or anything, I have noticed that my cervical mucus seems to be the the type for ov'ing for the past 3 days now (I'm now cd16 of a cycle that typically 24-31), this seems really late. Any ideas?

Numberjacker · 18/09/2011 12:28

Hi Alison, so glad your story has a happy ending, and bring on the BFP, I bet that would be the icing on the cake! And we're surely due another BFP on this thread.

Nearly - that sounds about right for ov'ing in your cycle (in my opinion anyway) as AF is usually 14 days after ov. So would fit with your cycle length, get SWIing..... Now!

nearlymumofone · 18/09/2011 14:06

Number- thanks for the tip Wink

monkeypuzzeltree · 18/09/2011 15:57

Hello new ladies, goodness, there are more people who are brave enough to TTC2! Lovely to meet you all.
Well, I've been using OV sticks but not getting much, perhaps I won't OV before AF turns up (I had an early MC about 3 weeks ago, so still waiting for first AF after that - I'm fine about all that by the way, was very early on - 6 weeks). Just wish that AF would just turn up now though, then I know where I am and can join in the SWI!

Having a nice rest on the sofa while DH takes DD swimming. I'll pass round the box of chocolates I'm munching my way through - quick though, grab one before DH comes home!

HomemadeCakes · 19/09/2011 12:44

Hello all and welcome to all the newbies!! Grin

I will take anything sweet that's on offer after my crap week and my crap weekend... Sad

So, AF didn't arrive. I stressed all week about whether it would be a good thing to be PG after wanting it for so long. Constant cramping and twinges that I never get unless I'm mid AF, plus sensitive and tingly boobs, again something I never get. So I was convinced.

DH went away and I wasn't going to mention all my worries and stresses to him and in the end I did. Amazingly he said "What will be will be. If you're PG it will be lovely and exciting news and if you're not, we'll just keep trying", so that was a relief.

Then on Friday I decided to test as AF still hadn't shown up. Got a test when I was shopping and did it on Friday afternoon. BFN. A little relieved, but a little upset too. But still no AF. Did another one with FMU on Saturday, still BFN. Then Saturday evening AF turned up.

I'm still convinced it was a chemical PG though but glad I didn't test before AF in case it was BFP and then it wasn't. I think that would have been worse. But to be nearly a whole week later (never late) and with the pain/cramps and tender boobs, I can't imagine what else it could have been.

So there we go, onwards and upwards! Smile

nearly, not late at all. The best Luteal Phase Length (the time between OVing and AF) is 14 days, so you're right on track if it's on day 16. Slightly longer can also be good, it's around 10 days when sometimes it can cause problems as there might not be enough time for the egg to implant before the AF witch sweeps in on her broom and cleans it all away. So you're fine hun.

Hope everyone's Ok.

Right, off to get a very unhealthy toasted cheese sarnie for lunch - yum yum!!

xxx

Hello Alison nice to meet you !

Well yesterday I found out my sister in law is pregnant and today AF came for a visit, so am feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning. I want to be happy for Sis in law, but I am so jealous, everything seems to come so easily to her. Anyway enough moaning , I ve been shopping and bought some fabulous clothes that I could nt wear whilst pregnant!! Best wishes to everyone else on here though, I hope you have better news than me this month. Thanks for letting me have a moan!

Clandy · 19/09/2011 20:15

Hello everyone and welcome to Alison!!

Glad to hear things are going well for you and sounds sensible decision to just enjoy ttc for a while Wink

Sorry to hear bout af's turning up! Turn must be hard with sil announcing her news and HC seems like OH has come round to the idea of ttc Smile

Alisonjayjay · 20/09/2011 15:56

Hi Ladies, I can't believe it. Remember I was saying I had sore tender boobs. My period was due yesterday or today and I just took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I am literally shaking writing this! After trying to get pregnant for a year and a half with my ex I thought it'd never happen! I used one of the clearblue digital tests and it says I am pregnant and conceived 2-3 weeks ago! Now I'm terrified incase something goes wrong. I am so excited.

nearlymumofone · 20/09/2011 17:31

Blimey Alison! Awesome news!!!! Good for you. This was your first month ttc right? That is brilliant. Well done you.

When's anyone else testing? If AF doesn't come by fri 30th I'll test then, but I fear she will arrive well before then!

Alisonjayjay · 20/09/2011 17:37

Nearlymumofone I came off the pill on the 1st of May. I really didn't expect it to happen so quickly as I tried to get pregnant for a year and a half last time with no joy, and that was with obsessive charting and ovulation tests. It seems a relaxed wait and see approach really works. I'm still shaking. Can't quite believe it. I keep expecting af to show up!

nearlymumofone · 20/09/2011 18:56

Really pleased for you! I agree with you being relaxed helps (it did for me first time round- I conceived the month I was told that I probably couldn't until my large cyst had been removed- I just chilled out that month and it happened). i find it hard to be relaxed about it unfortunately though!!

Numberjacker · 20/09/2011 21:16

Big Congrats Alison, chuffed to bits for you! We were well overdue a BFP. Take it easy and enjoy

So who's next?........

thing1andthing2 · 20/09/2011 21:56

Well done Alison, what great news! I'm so pleased for you.
Back to work in the morning for me...
My DH has just heard that if he gets this job he's quoting on then he'll be away from 30th Sept to 13th Oct. If AF comes next Tues, then that would mean him being away days 4 to 17 of my cycle. Bugger. I wish we'd started trying last month, even though I started a new job.
All I can hope is that AF is late and then I ovulate late as well. Day 18 is not unheard of.

Clandy · 21/09/2011 07:30

Aww congratulations Alison! Obviously wasn't meant to be when you were ttc with your ex. Bet your DP is over the moon Smile

monkeypuzzeltree · 21/09/2011 09:54

Oh thank heavens we got a bfp on this thread at last congratulations Alison! May this be the start of them all!

Just dropped DD off at Creche for 2 hours and finally only a small blub before she got interested in a toy and wandered off! Now what can I do for 2 hours .... Kettle on and biscuits while I think about it Grin

shomes · 21/09/2011 14:07

Hi there! New to this thread, my Lo is 3and a half so we want desperately to try for another. Came off the pill on 1st August, thought was gettting preg signs last month but AF started on 12th September. However it only lasted 3 days which is really unusual and then I got spotting and pink CM so I am really confused!!!! Hoping to concieve this month, have got some sticks so will start charting tomorrow from day 10! Hope to speak to you all soon x

Numberjacker · 21/09/2011 22:38

Welcome Shomes, hope your settling in, help yourself to the baked-goods, they don't last long here with me lurking. Good luck with the ttc-ing!

Hope the Creche went well, Monkey Smile

Night all

Clandy · 22/09/2011 19:41

AWWW I WANT TO HAVE A BAAAAABY Sad (Clandy spits out her dummy and stamps her feet!!!) it is crappy having to wait!!!!!

Hello shomes and welcome!!

How is everybody, will Hand out white chocolate brownies in apologies for previous tantrum Grin

nearlymumofone · 23/09/2011 08:43

I'm with you clandy. This is my first month ttc but I'm so impatient. Wish I was more chilled.

On a more positive note my RL friend who's been ttc for 18 months has fallen pg. I'm riding high on excitement on her behalf!

monkeypuzzeltree · 23/09/2011 12:08

I am also with you Clandy [throws toys to the floor and kicks toy cupboard].

I am fine with the whole early MC thing, but this waiting for AF is really getting to me now, it's been 4 weeks, come on already! Have been using OV sticks but nothing as yet, so I guess I didn't get lucky with another OV and just have to wait....am not very patient, just want to get on with it now!

Sulks with brownie - yum, thanks Clandy!

thing1andthing2 · 23/09/2011 16:54

I don't know whether I'm premenstrual but I'm the opposite Clandy.
I know in my head I want a sister or brother for DD and want a 2 child family, so I'm doing the whole ttc thing.
But I'm so scared... of not coping with work+toddler and morning sickness, of the pregnancy insomnia that I had right through last preg, of not having energy to play with my little girl, of explaining to work that I'm pg even though I've only been there a couple of months, of generally not coping and not being able to give DD everything she deserves.
Does anyone else feel like this? Or am I being silly? Sad.
Hope these bad feelings pass and I feel happier soon! It's weird to feel so totally obsessed by conceiving and so scared at the same time.

Clandy · 23/09/2011 18:11

Aww mpt must be awful not knowing what is going on n when you can ttc, fingers crossed she turns up soon (or you actually did ov and are now unaware but up the duff....!?)
I think I am scared about it mainly cos of horrible morning sickness I had it quite bad with dd and really don't want all that again. Also worried bout how dd will take it she is really into playing babies at the moment but it's not the same and she is used to having our undivided attention and part if me doesn't want to give that up.
But I want the excitement of being pregnant and to look after a tiny new part of our family while it grows inside me Smile and a lovely baby to share all our love with. And as it will be our last it will be nice to not to have to think about having a baby but to just enjoy what we have iyswim!
Oh I hate ttc maybe this is why dd was an accident as I couldn't have had to do this twice without turning (even more Grin) into a crazy lady!!!!

Clandy · 23/09/2011 18:12

Nearly - great news about your friend Smile

shomes · 23/09/2011 18:14

It really is so frustrating, my LO really wants a little brother and i know he will make a great one too, it just seems to take so long and when you are experiencing all the symptoms and then no preg makes you feel even worse.
Plus am fed up of peeing on sticks!!
