So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

MPT- Hope you had a good evening!!

I ll have a think of some new HC names, cant think of any at moment, brains gone on holiday. I think I am in 2 ww now and AF should come late next week maybe. I ve been on lookout for preg symptoms but not much to report other than bloating and some very mild nausea, which I get most months so I m pretty sure its not my month this time but you never know.

Good luck MPT hope you have better luck than me!!!

I ve loosely worked out that I will ov again around the end of this month, which coincides with my birthday so fingers crossed for then.

Hope everyones ok

FluffyMitchell · 11/09/2011 15:06

Hi everyone, af arrived yesterday, a week early, grrr.
Feel sore, p'd off and disappointed, so am saying goodbye for a while. Good luck to all.

monkeypuzzeltree · 11/09/2011 19:09

Sorry to hear that Fluffy, its a rollercoaster this TTC lark. Take care.

Clandy · 11/09/2011 20:25

Aww sorry to hear bout af fluffy Sad good luck with ttc x

Ah mpt m'lady! Hope you had a super weekend.

Sorry to hear you are feeling no preg symptoms but I was convinced of symptoms last month (even leaking boobs Blush) and nothing! So could be a good sign iyswim Smile

Well due to a new job opportunity for me it's looking like we are not ttc for another month after this one Sad dp is gutted and wants to try any way but it's worth about 4 grand to put it off and much better for future job ops once I go back to work. So there will be nothing to report form me for a while. Still going to hang around as I need you ladies to keep me sane and I want to keep up to date as I am now rather attached to you all Grin

Clandy · 11/09/2011 20:27

Oh that was meant to be a sorry no preg symptoms to turnwest not added on to your hello mpt

monkeypuzzeltree · 11/09/2011 21:08

That's a tough one Clandy, but 4k is a big deal and will last a while in the savings when you're not working ....

Am having a lovely weekend, quite a lot of wine on Friday ... in case you hadn't noticed Blush

Meanwhile, OV sticks from amazon have not read positive yet, but I really think it might be about to happen, so we shall see and you never know. Meanwhile am watching trash and enjoying X Factor - I have had watering eyes twice tonight - seriously since I had DD I've been an emotional lunatic when it comes to rubbish telly. DH is seriously taking the piss out of me. Rightly so.

HorridCold · 12/09/2011 15:41

Hello ladies,

It's so nice being back in touch properly - I'm a 90 words a minute typer on the laptop so I HATE using the phone to post. But because the Laptop is my work one, I don't like turning it on at the weekends!! Blush

So, had a bit of a rethink at the weekend. Had a nightmare day in town with DD on Friday. She had a proper tantrum in a nice quiet department store, I just ignored her while the staff tried to pacify her. I just thought to myself, can I really cope with another one? Do I want to go through this again (bear in mind this was first and only major tantrum so far - previous ones have been very minor...), so I wonder whether I am really cut out for it - if I can't cope with these, I'd really struggle with major ones all the time and you never know what you're going to get! Hmm

So I'm back to thinking mode again - I know I know - I can imagine what you're all thinking - here she goes again!

Fluffy, don't be disheartened hun, aim for next month now (although with AF a week early, are you sure it's not implantation bleeding? That's when I got mine... Hmm).

MPT, as I said, I never got a +ive with the OPKs, on the two months that I got PG, but I SWId around the same times as using the tests and it must have worked at some point! It can be as sensitive as the time of day that you test! So don't swear too much by them. Just enjoy SWIing!! Smile

Clandy, I agree that £4k is a lot - but hang around here and keep those of us who can't quite decide who are still trying company! Smile

So, AF was due today but no sign yet, although definitely coming as can feel all the usual aches and pains. Last month I thought I was due on the Saturday and it arrived on the Monday, so I'm wondering if my cycles are changing to 30 days instead of 28. That'll be a pain - although not too bad as I think I OVd on CD16 instead of CD14 so that would work out right!

Anyway, I'm handing out a back of onion rings and some popcorn today - enjoy ladies!!

HorridCold · 12/09/2011 15:43

Oooops, a bag of onion rings, not a back...

Loving the names so far! Currently creating a list of favourites...

Clandy · 12/09/2011 18:54

Oh HC!! I had a similar thought dd has had some major tantrums over the weekend, including in a jam packed morrisons cafe! Still desperate for another tho Grin o said to OH that we might have to wait to see if we can handle the one we have got before we have another little terror! It is difficult but tantrums are just one little area that eventually passes and I think the other amazing times far outweigh the awful tantrum moments!

Yeah the money will be a huge help it's just such a shame that with my dates as they are my due date would be around a week before I finished for the summer holidays, so I have to wait another entire month as I can't not do that week.

turnwest · 12/09/2011 20:49

ooooh Onion rings, I love onion rings!!!

Ok names for HC, bear with me I am not good at this but here goes

Hungrycow
Happychick
Highclouds
Headcase
hopefulcherub
hugecravings
homechick
homemadecake
hugecake

ok, I am rubbish at names- hence why I am called turnwest!! could nt think of anything else at time!!

Still no preg symptoms to report, and I am on the lookout. I ve never had any luck with ov sticks so I usually just guess when I might be ovulating, assuming I am still fertile.

turnwest · 12/09/2011 20:54

hc- the tantrums will pass, my dd has just started school (only just turned four though) and we are now able to go to the cinema, eat luch out and shop without too much hastle. I remember well the horror of her having a tantrum in the middle of a crowded shop though, so embarrassing and I also remember saying to dh that we were never ever ever ever having another child!! lol. But things do get a little easier.

Clandy · 12/09/2011 20:57

Ahh nice suggestions turnwest! I like headcase (sorry HC Grin) and homemadecake... But technically that could be HMC and that is a whole other abbreviation!

I have zero suggestions I am afraid but going to take pleasure in the fact that I thought up keeping HC as a nickname Blush to feed my diminishing ego.

Come on HC I want to know the name change!!!!!! Smile

Clandy · 12/09/2011 20:58

Oooooh turnwest you lucky thing.... (Clandy dreams about dd being 4 and doing normal things without a battle, whilst munching on popcorn) Grin

HorridCold · 12/09/2011 21:16

Ok girls, I've chosen my name!

I'm going for Homemadecake I think, goes with my hobby.

Thank-you turn. I will update it in my profile tomorrow.

Sleep well ladies!

Xx

nearlymumofone · 12/09/2011 21:37

Can I join you?

Feel a bit like a new girl in the class that doesn't know anyone but wants to make friends!!

So on first proper month ttc#2. I'm already obsessing over it, although I promised myself (and DH) I wouldn't be like that this time.

I look through the threads and feel like a novice- I'm not using ovulation kits and don't have a clue when I'm ovulating. So bit of a stab in the dark this month...

Anyway. Just thought I'd say Hi.

Clandy · 12/09/2011 21:58

Hello nearlymumofone!!! Pull up a chair and make yourself at home :) I have just stuffed a few croissants in the oven feel free to grab one (filling if your choice Grin) I am not doing the whole charting/temping thing (not yet anyway!!) just at it like rabbits Blush most if the month. Only ttc one cycle and now stopping for two due to work. Never ttc before as it just happened so it's all new to me as well. But your in the right place to find out stuff... Reading mn is another world from what I imagined ttc to be Grin thought it was just simple dtd and that was it.... Haha.

Nice name change homemadecake!! I shall nn you HC...... Grin

nearlymumofone · 12/09/2011 22:04

Thanks Clandy, I'll take a couple of croissants if that's alright? though not sure what dtd means??!

I don't even know how to get those wee smiley face thingys on here!

Anyway I'm roughly mid-cycle-ish at the minute (I say roughly cos I'm not that regular 25-31 days) so what's the general consensus- do I jump on dh:

a) every time I see him?
b) once a day?
c) every other day?
d) less frequently?

... I'm hoping the advice is c or d, cos I am just too knackered for more frequently than that!

Clandy · 13/09/2011 16:37

Dtd = do the deed (making a baby!!) also can be swi (shagging with intent) Grin

Yeah every other day is advised to let sperm build up. But only needs to be from around cd 8 to ov. If your not sure when you ov prob be 2-3 weeks after and maybe a few time to be sure after that. Hope that helps ad feel free anyone to correct me if I'm wrong Smile

nearlymumofone · 13/09/2011 17:37

ahhh... thanks for clearing that up Clandy!

what does cd8 mean?

Plan is swi every other day from day 9-18 to try to catch all as not sure when ov!

Clandy · 13/09/2011 17:45

Sorry! Too many abbreviations. Cd8 is cycle day 8. Cd1 is first day of period! Grin

nearlymumofone · 13/09/2011 17:59

thanks Wink

monkeypuzzeltree · 13/09/2011 19:43

Hello Nearlymumofone welcome to the crazy zone of TTC2. Crazy because we frankly must be!

I concur with the tantrums, at 19 months, it is pretty full on, but I just ignore them and start doing something fun and she is starting to realise that I am not paying any attention to it! My DD is more than active, never sits still, so I've been doing more and more activities with her and knackering her out - made her walk about a half a mile at 4pm, that did it! I have no idea how I will cope with a baby as well, but I have plenty of friends who are making it look too easy!

So I am SWIing at the moment, even though the OV sticks are not saying it is the time, they almost did and then went blank, which is odd, but I am taking HCs advice that they are pretty rubbish. Well, you never know, might OV this month, or else will just have to wait for AF and then crack on again.

Hope all are well - here are some slightly overdone flapjacks for you, tasty, but a bit chewy - mind you teeth!

nearlymumofone · 13/09/2011 20:13

thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the flapjacks, don't mind if I do, i've eaten everything else in my sight today, so why stop now...?

Clandy · 13/09/2011 21:18

Oooh mpt my dd is 19 months must be a phase they go thru cos she is full on with the tantrums. I try to ignore but feel like she must be sad so possibly pander to her tears a little too much! Must firm up!! Fingers crossed that this is your month.Smile

HomemadeCakes · 14/09/2011 08:56

Morning all and welcome nearlymumofone!!

I'm trying on my new name, what do you think? Smile

So, anyway... Had a really really bad day yesterday - I hope you ladies don't mind me ranting on here. It's my release...

Firstly I had to go to Reading on business and my 2.5 hour journey took me 4 hours. That was the start of my day...

Anyway, I found out on Monday that my my BIL had been arrested for beating up my Dsis who is PG with their 2nd child. He's been to prison before (many years ago), for apparently attacking one of his DC from his previous relationship and I always thought 'No smoke without fire' even though they'd released him after only serving 3 months of a 3 year sentence (apparently more evidence had come up that cleared him). Anyway, he was in Court yesterday and it's been referred to Crown Court, but now he's not allowed anywhere near their 2 year old child (or his other 2 boys from the previous relationship) for at least 6 months. My Dsis has started divorce proceedings already but I feel so sad for my DNephew. He's continually asking for his Daddy. Sad

Now, I'm not condoning what he did at all, but he works so hard and my sister has never worked. She's lazy and my BIL has had to get up through the night for DNephew because my DSis can't be bothered. I can almost understand why he flipped. He handed himself in to the Police, he phoned them as soon as he'd done it. I spoke to Dsis last night and she is doing Ok and the first words she said to me were "now he's gone, I will go to the top of the list for a Council House and get loads of benefits". The whole situation is so sad. My Dsis and I are worlds apart. I've worked full time since I was 16 (21 years - eek!) and she never has, but seems to think that the world owes her something (she's 25).

I don't know why I'm telling you all this - I guess I just need to rant. I could tell you loads more about my Dsis that would give you more understanding of why I feel sorry for BIL, but I don't want to bore you all. I love her, I just don't think she helps herself.

Sorry guys - don't want to bring the thread down - so I'm providing Chocolate Brownies and Chocolate Cornflake Cakes to raise the sugar levels!! Smile

By the way, AF was due on Monday but still not here. Suspecting it could be today though... Smile
