So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Hi MPT - yes please, make mine a large one. Am quitting drinking this week just in case. So I'll make the most of the hospitality now.

Hi Fluffy, welcome to the madhouse!

I agree, let's all move up to the pg threads "en masse", and keep ourselves sane together on this thread in the meantime

HerniaGranger · 29/08/2011 22:06

Thanks for letting me stay. You all say such lovely thiiiiiiinnnngs sniff, sniff ba-hooooooo.... (wipes eyes again. Think I'll keep it to myself that the song they play at 7pm on Cbeebies made me cry tonight. Doh!)

As well as being over-emotional, having self-suffocating giganta jubblies and the occasional bout of nausea, SPD has unfortunately kicked in ridiculously early. Was the same with DS but will definitely make more of a fuss about it with midwife this time.

Btw - have left a pile of chocolate, crisps and cakes on the table for you all to enjoy. Oh, and I've washed and ironed some clean pillow cases for you all, you dirty, dirty girls! Grin

Damn right you are staying HG! Also, we need you as an expert when we start symptom spotting.
So you mean the Cbeebies song "tomorrow's just a dream away..." ? Ah I love it!

HorridCold · 30/08/2011 10:15

Hello all,

Welcome Fluffy!! Grin And hello to all you lovely ladies.

I so love being back on my laptop - it means I get to update all you ladies with all the gossip from the weekend.

So, we managed to SWI every other night last week but last time was Saturday (madly busy weekend) and think I'm oving today, so probably missed it this month. Sad Although I may jump DH tonight just in case...

My DParents bought a business this weekend (well they buy it today but moved in at the weekend) so we've been helping out, we're all exhausted. They already have a wedding business which they've been running from home for the last year, but a local florist and floral suppliers came up for sale so they bought it and will move their wedding business there. Mum is a florist (self-taught) so it seemed the perfect expansion. We keep all the customers aswell which include the majority of the hotels in the Torbay area, so should be really good. We spent the whole weekend finishing the stock-check and getting ready for them to open up today.

So now it's back to my normal day-job. I did enjoy it though and may see if they need some extra help over Xmas. My job is really taxing and I constantly have to think. It was actually nice just to stack shelves! Even though I had to concentrate, it was something very different and fairly straight forward which was a real break. It will be our business one day aswell so I guess I'd better get used to it.

Other than that, not much going on here.

Bought lots of M&S cookies at the weekend so help yourselves!!

monkeypuzzeltree · 30/08/2011 11:37

Morning all, hello fluffy welcome!

Had a lovely morning out to the hospital for a scan and was told all was fine an I could get on with swi whenever! DH was so lovely, came with me to look after DD. Feel much better this morning too.

Mmm do love m&s cookies! Here is some [tea] to go with.

I'm just a couple of years behind you fluffy, so really not that old!!!

monkeypuzzeltree · 30/08/2011 11:44

Oh and, sounds like great news on the business front Horrid. I'd love to have a little shop to play in, not sure what I'd sell and I certainly wouldn't be any cop as a florist but I know what you mean about stacking shelves and puttering being quite pleasant!

Since we are hanging around here thought is share a bit about me, join in if you like. I am 34, live in London and am a sahm but before that did public relations an had a lovely job chasing journalists around and mainly getting leglessbwith them Grin

How life changes!

Hernia here is a big box of tissues, best keep them handy!

Clandy · 30/08/2011 13:33

HC- sounds very exciting with the business ESP if you plan to Carry it on!! Best of luck to your parents!

Glad your feeling better mpt n can resume swi asap! Grin

Thanks for the pillows hernia!! Sorry to hear bout SPD tho don't have much experience of it but have gathered from 'MN it is rather painful! Hope you don't get it too bad. Can it be treated??

Well my info is that I am 23 n live in very glam Morecambe. I am a teacher but intend to be a sahm after %232 arrives, until %231 goes to school at least Smile not as fun as chasing journalists or getting drunk but I like it!!

Clandy · 30/08/2011 13:35

Erm not quite sure what happened to my numbers there! Is supposed to be number 2 and number 1 not %231 or %232!! silly iPhone Blush

HorridCold · 30/08/2011 13:44

Glad that you're starting to feel better and that things went Ok at the hospital MPT, what a good idea to give a bit of info about ourselves!!

So, I'm 37 (best age ever hey fluffy Wink). I work full-time hours over 4 days, Monday to Thursday. I work as a Demand Planner for a huge IT company (biggest in the world I believe now...). We provide IT services for massive companies, governments etc and I work on the MOD account. I make sure that we have enough people to deliver everything that the MOD needs in regards to IT. I work from home which is lovely sometimes, but lonely other times, but do occasionally have to travel to Reading on business. I live near Torquay in Devon and I'm married with just DD and two yellow labradors (who drive me up the wall!!).

Sorry MPT, mine was a bit longer than yours - ooops!!

I think we should all add one MN type thing to our info, what is your favourite Mummy moment.

Mine is this...

When DD was about 1 week old, I'd fed her at about 8am and she'd drifted off to sleep in our bed (it was warm so no duvet on). DH had gone downstairs and I'd drifted back off to sleep too. I woke up about 10am and DD's little face was right in front of me looking so angelic. I couldn't believe how lucky I was. It really was the happiest moment of my life. Smile

Right, thanks for the tea MPT and glad you're enjoying the cookies!

Clandy · 31/08/2011 18:56

Hello ladies! Hope you are all ok Smile

Oh bloody hell what a day I have had!!! Any way.... Af arrived in full swing last night and I swear mother nature is getting her own back! Am in agony but have huge curry on it's way so it's all good Smile

monkeypuzzeltree · 31/08/2011 19:36

Great news Clandy! Enjoy the curry!

Looks like I am just about over the MC and jaw a big bag of OV tests coming, so let the SWI commence!

Clandy · 31/08/2011 20:05

Ooh where d'ya get them ordered from and how much if you don't mind me asking it's just that I think I might get some. Maybe I'll let you try them out n give the reviews before I do Grin

Clandy · 31/08/2011 20:06

Oh and p.s the curry was AMAZINGGGG made my day Smile

HorridCold · 31/08/2011 20:08

Hi All,

Clandy, great news that AF finally turned up hun - enjoy that curry!!

MPT, you sound really good hun, I'm glad that you're OK.

Well we've taken a backward step today. Firstly, I totally misjudged OVing and think I OVd and we haven't SWId since Saturday - damn and blast it, but also, had a bit of a tiff over dinner because DD was having a strop.

Now I know that DH said from day one that he doesn't like children crying etc etc, but we ended up having a row because he was getting cross because DD was having a strop. I told him to chill out and to ignore her tantrum and then it just escalated to, 'we shouldn't be having another child when I don't like them crying, we'll have loads more years of this'. So now we're not talking again.

I just feel that he's constantly messing with my head. It makes me Sad.

So who knows what will happen now?

Anyway, I'll pass around some Naan bread to go with Clandy's curry!!

xxx

Clandy · 31/08/2011 20:21

Yep there is plenty left for you ladies to share came with some popadoms (hope that is correct spelling!!??) so dig in.

Fab news mpt that your feeling much better grab them ov sticks and get peeing Grin

Oh HC sounds awful! Bloody men eh! Well if your dd is anything like mine tantrums are an everyday (and the rest) occurrence just gotta ignore it and get on! Not fair to mess you about like that tho when he knows you want a baby so much. I think he was prob just annoyed tho and not meaning what he said!!?? You were adamant he wanted to wait/not sure if he wanted one at all and he soon changed his mind Grin fingers crossed it's the same here.

monkeypuzzeltree · 31/08/2011 22:29

Horrid- sounds to me like you were all tired at dinner, I am sure that he didn't really mean that. Just like when we were off to hospital on Tuesday and DD decided to lie on the pavement having a strop at the thought of having to get in her car seat! Dh said to me, can't you just tell her to stand up. Er yes, reasoning with a toddler always works!

Clandy, I have curry envy.

I got the OV sticks from amazon, cost about £8 for 50 sticks and you could have any combo of preg or OV sticks. I got 40 OV and ten preg. I'll check the name and let you know. Worth a go.

Night all.

Clandy · 31/08/2011 22:39

Glad to hear it's not just my dd that refuses to get in her car seat (or pretty much do anything) without a paddy Grin my mum saw her having a strop on skype the other day and commented on the scene being exactly the same as whe I was her age Blush

Will get on amazon mpt cheers and good night

Numberjacker · 04/09/2011 10:21

Hi all

. These are for anyone who is about to embark on, or is In mid shag-a-thon!

Am on CD 24 here, and AF due Wed/Thurs. The only thing that feels different to the last few months is a bit of tingling in the boobage area.
I only have one pg test in the house, and as it is a CBD I can't waste it too early. So if no sign of AF, I will not test until Thursday.... Or Wednesday.

Chants "I must not symptom-spot, I must not...."

Clandy · 04/09/2011 12:48

Oooh thanks for the energy drink af is just on her way out so I'll pop it in the cupboard for safe keeping for a few more day Grin

Fingers crossed that af is not on her way for you. I have a cb digital n some asda Cheapies only want to use cb when I know for sure (due to rigorous cheapy testing) it is gonna say bfp Smile how sad is that haha!!

HorridCold · 05/09/2011 10:23

Hello all,

I hope you all had good weekends.

Well I know that I'm not PG this month Sad, I took my BASL temp this morning and it was only 36.35. I looked back through my cycles on Fertility Friend for when I got PG with DD and my temps were around 36.67 and rising. Poo bums. Oh well, I suspected anyway TBH because I was getting mixed OV messages and thought I'd OVd much later than I thought.

Numberjacker, tingly boobs is a good sign, but then as you say, it's easy to symptom-spot. What I would do (if I was you) is make a note of that, so if you're not PG, you can at least discount that symptom next month if it happens again at the same time.

Isn't it amazing what you start to notice about your body when you're really watching for it! Smile

Clandy, totally know what you mean about the CB Digital. Have you got the one with the Conception Indicator? I had one of those free when they first came out as MN were running a campaign for Feedback. I'd already had two BFPs (with DD) and so waited until it would say 3-4 weeks since conception (so 5-6 weeks PG) before I tested. I just wanted it to say the maximum that it could. So I do understand what you mean. Smile

So how is everyone else today?

Some Galaxy with Raisin, Almond and Hazelnut winging it's way across the ethernet!

xx

Numberjacker · 05/09/2011 13:05

Super, is there any choc left?

Sorry about the temp drop HC, when is AF due?
I take my temp but only on a basic baby thermometer. I forgot this morning and when i eventually remembered it had dropped 0.2 from yesterday. Just clinging to the fact that it is prob inaccurate as had been down and made a cup of tea. Sad

Hope everyone's had a good weekend x x

HorridCold · 05/09/2011 15:08

Hey Number, there is still some choc so dig in - I think I ate all the really nutty bits though so you might be stuck with the raisins - sorry! Smile

AF is due a week today. Oh well, only two weeks today then to start SWIing again. Not a bad thing that DH is on nights this week and then on holiday next week with part of his week going away to London to visit his mate. He'll be up for lots of SWIing when he gets back and won't realise at all that it's the best time of the month for me - LOL!! Grin

Yep Number, I would say that your temp is totally inaccurate! Take no notice of it! Smile

Clandy · 05/09/2011 15:29

Hiya, I think numberjacker that you are gonna have to ignore that temp!!

Sorry to hear that you don't think your pregnant HC. Next month is a good month to get pregnant and sounds like it's likely for you!! The only problem with cb digital is that the wonderful words disappear after a bit whereas the bfp for my dd is still shining away in my special box.. Is that weird?? Grin haha.

Am approaching my swi time but think we are waiting this month, possibly trying but not iyswim!! So there will be no news from over here for a while, will happily accept chocolate tho

FluffyMitchell · 05/09/2011 21:01

Hi everyone, not so sure about the whole ttc thing at all now. Think I may be too overweight and I really want to lose at least 1.5 stone before getting pg. I weighed myself yesterday at one of those horribly accurate public scales (was so scared it was going to announce my weight and shout "get off me fatty!) and the news was not good. I noticed that my cycles haven been a bit irregular veering from 28 to 32, 33 sometimes 34 days and i think the extra weight is the cause of that. So I am not even sure when I am OVing any more. It's either lose the weight and ttc in a few months or just do it anyway and stick to a healthy eating plan so I don't put on loads of weight when I do get pregnant. Sorry for moany post. In case you're wondering I am about 3 stone above my 'healthy' weight and BMI of oh..about 100,000,000 probably.

monkeypuzzeltree · 05/09/2011 21:30

Evening ladies, just a quick hello as I have a million things to do and it appears to be nearly bedtime, bugger.

HC - sorry to hear that, it really is a roller coaster this TTC lark.

Fluffy - be positive, you can do both, start to have healthy eating and TTC and then at least you're heading in both right directions... It is tough, a friend of mine had to lose weight before IVF and it was so tough on her.

Nearly killed myself this pm, got the zumba for Wii - I can dance, but that is really hard!! DD thinks it is hilarious, we had a lot of fun, although I did stand on her a few times as she was joining in with a lot of enthusiasm! You can see why I have a lot to do before bedtime!

Night all
