So, after almost turning myself inside out giving birth to DC1, we've decided to take the plunge and try for another. Thought this would be a good place to share excitement / terror / general state of knackeredness. Just watch your feet as you come in. I haven't had chance to tidy the lego away yet and you know how much it hurts when you stand on it.
Glass of Wine anyone?

Haha HC - i tried the pillow trick last night too Wink

I have heard conflicting advice, some say do it as it helps with gravity. Some say don't as the good swimmers will make it anyway and you don't want to help those that are of poorer quality, that otherwise wouldn't make it.

However I do it because I did it with DD and it worked, and secondly (tmi alert) it's less messy!!!!

monkeypuzzeltree · 24/08/2011 10:13

We did to the leg in the air with dd in fact literally turned around and had legs up the headboard! Cycling legs is meant to be good too if you are very agile! This time we are more tired with a toddler so I did a bit of a hip raise and then passed out! What must our dhs think!

I am finding it somewhat odd that thus morning I am feeling really quite nauseous. Not sure if it is nerves or morn sickness! Peppermint tea seems to help!

HorridCold · 24/08/2011 10:22

MPT, well nausea kicked in pretty much straightaway with me so it could be that. I found that ginger biscuits or S&V crisps helped. As soon as I ate something it went...

Hmmm, Ok, so how do I get around doing hips in the air without DH realising. Like I said, he would probably freak if I suddenly started doing that. Hmmm...

Numberjacker · 24/08/2011 10:44

HC - could you start off with a pillow whilst doing the deed (sell it as a new trick you've read about). Then forget to remove it afterwards? Blush

Clandy · 24/08/2011 12:11

Congratulations MPT! That's fab news, can't believe you have to wait til Sunday to tell dp not sure I could wait that long to eve tell the rest of the world haha! Gonna kill me aving to keep a secret for12 weeks Blush

I don't do the legs I air thing but if I don't get a baby soon might have to start Grin apparently pillow under your bum is supposed to make dtd better so tell him this then afterwards he will fall asleep n never know you haven't moved it!! Or you could do it handstand/hangin off the bed style n say you are so comfy/have done your back in that you are gonna have to stay that way.....

Thanks for advice will have to see if I can get a appointment although seems to have stopped today. Wondered if it could be hormones after stopping pill. I said this to OH ad he said well you don't seem hormonal, you have been really nice to be around! Grin bless him!! Haha

MichaelaS · 24/08/2011 14:32

great news mpt!! i couldn't wait that long, i'm already struggling not to tell everyone at work let alone DH! Grin

i'm feeling very nauseous if i don't eat. i 'm cramming food in so i can get through the day. goign to be the size of a house.... Shock

went to the gp yesterday and they were nice but completely ineffective. no mw appt until 12+ weeks. erm, no, i'll be having surgery at the hospital by then and i'm high risk so you'll see me before that thanks very much. now have appt booked for 8.5 weeks. :) am already considering a private scan around that point too - will see what NHS offer. i want a baseline reading of my cervical length as that is likely to be a problem for me. at least gp referred me tto the hospital - i'm goign to call them on friday and check they received the referral though as i don't trust them.

Numberjacker · 24/08/2011 22:25

I am knackered, I will be asleep as soon as my head ( or should that be my hips, lol) hit the pillow.

That is all. Night y'all!

monkeypuzzeltree · 25/08/2011 15:25

Ended up telling dh on the phone this morning! He is thrilled, shocked it happened so quick though.

I feel rubbish, bleugh, have to eat all the time.

How are you ladies... Legs in the air like you just don't care?!

Clandy · 25/08/2011 18:50

Ah all this talk of munching lots of food has me wishing for a bfp more than ever! Haha. I have the right junk food munchies at the mo but no excuse for me Sad

How is everyone today

Clandy · 25/08/2011 18:52

Aww glad he is pleased mpt not that he would be any other!! I started thread the other day about how did you tell your dp. I am thinking of really good ways to tell mine when it happens Smile so exciting!!!

Numberjacker · 28/08/2011 09:19

Morning all, just embarking on the 2ww again here, so am settling down on the sofa with trashy TV. It was either that or go the gym......

Clandy · 28/08/2011 13:07

Oooh well fingers crossed. Smile I am still waiting for af to arrive and am on hold this month anyway due to next years holiday! Post any symptoms so I can symptom spot for you ad I have none of my own Grin

monkeypuzzeltree · 28/08/2011 14:32

Hello ladies. Can I come back please, it would seem that this one was not a keeper. Didn't say I had a funny feeling....hmm, well on Friday late afternoon I got some spotting and then a bit more overnight. It was fine on saturday and I thought, well maybe it was just implantation, but then just now it seems to be bright red which I understand is a bad sign. I did a CB Digi and it said not pregnant, so bearing in mind I must be 7 days late from when original AF should have been, I would have thought it should be positive at any time of day. Plus sickness has vanished.

I'm fine, quite pragmatic about these things, it would be different if it happened later but this is really early, so I guess it wasn't meant to be and there was a good reason why. Just feel a bit knackered to be honest and a bit Hmm

DH is being lovely and taken DD out to the supermarket to buy cake! On a practical note, if this bleeding doesn't properly get going I guess I should go to the docs on tuesday and see what they say, would really rather avoid going through the whole scan thing though, I think that just makes it worse.

Anyway, how are you ladies? xx

Clandy · 28/08/2011 16:22

Oh no mpt Sad I'm so sorry to hear that! Hope you are ok glad to hear dp n dd are supplying you with cake n hopefully lots of cuddles! Hope the bleeding stops soon and your not in any pain Smile

Numberjacker · 28/08/2011 16:35

Will do, Clandy. At the moment it's just impatience, but not sure that's actually a symptom as such Wink

Oh, MPT, am so sorry. Glad the family are looking after you. Take it easy, and do go the GP if you are unsure of anything. X

Clandy · 28/08/2011 22:25

Oooh I had to post as I am a little bit excited!! Just went to the loo and had the strangest pinkness when wiping.. Think af may be visiting the1st one I have had naturally in about 8 years!! Smile I know this is not something to be overly happy about but shows everything is in working order and that bow when dtd it could actually lead to me getting pregnant!! Grin if only we didnt have to wait a month... Ooooh I really happy

Numberjacker · 29/08/2011 07:29

Fab news Clandy, v excited for you. At least you'll have a good marker now for when you go forth and SWI! Another step closer to DC2. Hurrah! Grin

monkeypuzzeltree · 29/08/2011 10:14

Get the pillows ready Clandy, not long until you can get your legs in the air! Glad to hear things are working as they should at last.

HerniaGranger · 29/08/2011 12:27

Hi MPT - So sorry to read things didn't work out this time. Hope your body gets back to working order very quickly and that next time, things will be very, very different XX

Hope you don't mind me hanging around in here. I'd really miss not knowing what you're all up to.(God I'm a soppy cow at the moment).

OP posts:
Clandy · 29/08/2011 19:22

Of course not hernia! I want to know how your getting on with your pregnancy as well. How you feeling (besides soppy Grin) any sickness ect or are you (obviously) blooming!!

So af is a no show yet but some more (tiny but most definitely there) again when I went to loo and some pains so stocked up on tampons and maltesers ready to welcome her with open arms (for one month only!!) Grin will pass the family bag of maltesers round...

HorridCold · 29/08/2011 20:00

Hi all,

MPT, I'm so sorry. I know what you mean about being pragmatic though because I had the same thing happen at 5 weeks. But I was pg again 6 weeks later so everything is crossed for you. I bled for about a week all in all.

Hernia you really should stick around. Just because it's a conception thread, we should all stay around until our bubbas are born!

Clandy that's great news, time to get going soon hopefully!

I hope that everyone is ok.

Xx

FluffyMitchell · 29/08/2011 20:44

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining you but have been ttc for a few months now and it's coming up to that time again. Am all ready for swi, lady garden cleared, fake tan on, etc.
By the way, am 37 (Jaysus...so old!) have 1 ds (22 months) and af is due around 16th Sept.
Just saw Beyonce showing off her bump on TV and actually felt quite weepy.
Thought I wasn't that fussed about ttc again but obviously am!

monkeypuzzeltree · 29/08/2011 20:48

Right, so it is agreed, everyone is staying here until we are join the club, so you are stuck with us Hernia!

I am supplying the Wine for this evening and helping myself to Clandy's malteasers - keeping my fingers crossed for you too!

Horrid - thats good to know that a week should do it, I already feel like it is slowing down a little, so hopefully I can get back to SWI soon!!

Anyone know the best OV sticks to use, is there some cheap online ones to buy or are they a false economy?

Where is numberjacker hiding - fancy a glass?!

Clandy · 29/08/2011 20:54

Hello fluffy! Welcome to the madness Grin feel free to grab wine and maltesers and make yourself comfortable.

Yes it's agreed we hang round here for a month or two until we are all pregnant then can move to pregnancy thread!!

Thanks for the wine mpt n glad to hear the bleeding is stopping! Let's get the pillows. I was thinking of some ov sticks too just for reassurance. I think amazon seems to be the recommended place for Cheapies but not sure how good they will be??!! Didn't even know they existed til ttc %232!! Grin so I shall wait patiently for someone more knowledgable....

HorridCold · 29/08/2011 21:11

Just a quick message as I'm off to bed. But the opks showed negatives right through oving with me both times I got pg - I wouldn't waste your money... buy more pg tests instead...
