Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
6. And the presence of symptoms.
7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.

10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

I am missing days enlist as well. I am 10+1 today.

When people have been updating are they just updating their own dates? I am unable to go through it at mo as on phone?

my dates haven't been updated either - I'll update mine I guess - but I'm guessing that the folks around me haven't been?

I think the list went very wrong somewhere because my dates wrong too so we need to work out where and fix it
On phone so just a quick post to say scan went great and baby was bigger than expected, added 2days on but that means DH was on a stag weekend when I concieved so that made us laugh, also I've been feeling loads of those bubbly poppy movements so I'm very happy even felt brave enough to buy some mat clothes as I was feeling very podgy lol, will catch up properly tomorrow x

Hi, I'm so sorry if it was me that me that messed up the list . Please forgive me if it was! Thanks for sorting it out YRMOTB. I seem to have dropped off the most recent one so I am going to add myself back in if that's ok. I'm not going to change anything else because we are still on the same day as when the last list was produced. Hope that's right...

lily I'm sorry they couldn't do the CVS, I can't imagine how hard the waiting must be. Totally understand about putting all the bits and pieces away until you feel ready. Big ((hugs)).

shellshock that is interesting about your dreams about twins... Maybe your subconscious it trying to tell you something??! When are you planning to go for your first scan?! I think it is so lovely of you to ask your friend to tell you everything about her pregnancy - it must be hard sometimes so that is an amazing thing to do. :)

Laylas that's brilliant news about your scan. It's always nice to be moved forward a few days as well! Hope you found some nice mat clothes! x

Been quiet here since my last post - hope that means everyone has had a great weekend

First day of mega top level mentalling today ...woke up with boobs totally back to normal (seem smaller again and no pain - been really sore up will now) and convinced this means impending MC or already happened MMC. Scan seems so far away. Am gutted as had surprised myself by how good I'd been doing on the mentalling front!!

Hi, I'd like to crash your thread. I've been on the miscarriage thread for a long time. I'm on my 4th pg after 3 miscarriages in Apr 10, Sept 10, Dec 10.

I desperately want a different outcome and hope that being here instead of the MC thread will be better for me somehow.

I just tested this morning and confirmed that I am pg. I knew that I was pg a week ago as my boobs have increased by a cup size in a week.

Of course, I am freaking out. My period isn't due for another 2 days, but am concerned that the clear blue says 1-2 weeks instead of 2-3. I keep poking my boobs to see if they twinge when I do it.

I'm trying to ignore the fact that I'm pg, but have already written in my diary the number of weeks I will be through until next February. I don't know how I'm going to get through the next 2 months.

Hi LAF - you're not crashing, we're an inclusive grp of mentallers here! Very sorry to hear about your m/cs but congrats on the BFP and we very much hope you'll be here with us for a while and have a thoroughly uneventful time here too! I stayed well away from the clear blue after my first mc and used more retro style ptests, but I know a few people here have used them a lot. The fact that you've got a BFP before your period is due is a very good sign indeed (mine were always BFN until about 5 days late), so try not to worry about what the CB dates say. Boob poking is of course allowed though!

Been doing some of my own mentalling this weekend, but it's mainly about my heartbeat, which seems to be very strange since being pg! Occasionally I'm getting irregular hbs that feels like a missed beat and I get this particularly bad when trying to sleep at night. It's pretty scarey tbh. Seems like I've transferred lots of my early worries to other things now - including what if I lost DH (realise this makes me sound pretty mental and morbid so I'll scuttle away now and do some work...!)

Hi LAF and welcome to the thread! Congrats on your BFP! I know this is a really stressful (but exciting) time for you right now so I hope that the time goes really quickly for you over the next few weeks. I agree with scooby, don't worry about the clearblue dates. Is there any way you can go for an early scan - like 7 weeks - at your EPU so that the wait doesn't feel so long?

Scooby that is SO strange that you posted about your heartbeat today. I was lying in bed last night and my heart suddenly did this really weird thing like it skipped a beat, then did 2 beats really quickly and it was totally freaky. It did it again almost straightaway and then seemed to go back to normal. I actually woke up DH to tell him what had happened so that if I got really ill or died in the night (I actually said this - you are not the only morbid one!!!!!) then he would be able to tell the hospital what symptoms I had! I am going to ask the doctor about it at my appointment on Thursday....

Am terrified of posting in case I jinx anything but I realise I need to get a grip because if it's going to go wrong it's going to go wrong but.... I got a BFP on Tuesday, which according to my LMP (13th June) makes me 5 weeks today. Very, very early days.

Hello everyone! I know a few of you from previous threads and couldn't resist coming on and mentalling with you all.

I was diagnosed with very high NK cells after my third mc (started in March) and am under treatment for these. The doc said they were amongst the highest he has ever seen so I don't feel very optimistic. Trying to take each day as it comes but I don't really have any symptoms except hunger and being tired by the end of the day. And they could be put down to the cocktail of serious drugs am on (17 tablets a day and counting!).

Anyone else worried by lack of symptoms?

LAF I too was freaked out by that CB thing, but if you look at the packet it will say that 1-2 weeks actually means 3-4 weeks in doctors terms. The one thing I am mentalling about now is using another one in the next week or so to see if it has gone up to 3-4 weeks! I am with you too on trying to ignore it, but also having a look in the diary to see how far I might be on significant dates. I will have to have various treatments scheduled in the next few weeks so it's difficult to see how I can ignore it all.

Scooby and Ladybird I too have been getting a lot of heart palpitations and I think it's just one of those things - your body is making a hell of a lot more blood. I am used to having them with an under active thyroid gland too and I know they can be scary but try not to worry about them as they are not supposed to be harmful.

It feels way to early for me to add myself to any lists yet! My next milestone is a week today when am seeing the doctor for what might be a 6 week check up. Am terrified already! Last time the baby died at 7.3 although I didn't start to miscarry until 12 weeks.

Freelance I was exactly the same as you - I couldn't bring myself to write down anything until I was sure that this pregnancy was going the right way. Just to reassure you, I had absolutely no symptoms at all during the first 6-7 weeks. I had no morning sickness. I've only vomited once so far. So try not to worry.

LAF I know what a worrying time this must be, and I am really hoping that this pregnancy works out for you. The CB test sounds right, as it measures from conception, so as you haven't had your period yet, you must have conceived around 1-2 weeks ago. Will you be having regular scans at St Mary's? I found this really helped me with the mentalling.

Nothing much to report here, I'm feeling slightly more confident since my counselling started. I am still listening to the HB once a day to reassure myself though, and I have no idea how this is affecting the baby...does anyone know if over-using a doppler is bad? Still can't bring myself to buy maternity trousers, and I really do need them now.

I imagine, Milky that if over-listening on the doppler was in anyway harmful they wouldn't let us loose with them! Or there would be some warning about using them. Are you around 15 weeks now? Just trying to work it out by your stats. I imagine you must definitely need some maternity clothes soon! I have bulged out of a size 10 to a 12 and am much preferring things not touching my tummy at the moment. But that could also be down to, again, all the bloody drugs am taking.

ladybird I phoned St. Mary's this morning because I am going on the PROMISE trial and am supposed to let them know as soon as I know I'm pg so I can start the pessaries, real or placebo. I've also made an appointment for a scan with them on 3rd August, so I'd be 6+3. I refuse to go back to my local EPU as I had such an awful time with them in my previous 3 pgs. It's worth it to me to make the trek into London to be looked at by someone else.

I have to make an appointment with my doctor to have his consent to be treated by the EPU there. Not really sure why I have to do this, but I'll follow the rules. milkyways I'm interested in your experience of Vitamin D deficiency. Do you know if you can be tested for this if you are pg? It is so hard to believe that you are pg for real when you have been through so much trauma.

freelance I'm on the same thought process as you, to test in a few days to see if it has gone up to 3-4 weeks. I don't know what a successful pg feels like, so I'm looking at everything to try and see if this time it will be a better outcome. I can't believe you have 17 tablets to take. No wonder you don't feel many symptoms!

scooby my heartbeat does the same thing sometimes. I haven't done anything about it. I think it is fairly common.

I'm feeling a little queasy this morning, nothing major, just a little unsettled. I'm happy to be here on the thread. Hoping that positive association will help things along too! It's a long road ahead though.

I am happy you joined the thread too LAF as you gave me the confidence to join! I am with Mr Shehata rather than St Mary's so am really interested to see what your treatment plan is too. I am now on 40mg of Prednisolone, Omega 3, Pregnacare, an extra 25mcg of Vit D, aspirin, thyroxine (was on this already) and a nightly progesterone pessary. I also had intralipids last week which was quite a surreal experience.

The Vit D thing is something I think is well worth you taking. I was recognised as being low on this years ago and although recent tests are in normal levels I am taking it anyway as I have found out a lot of research connecting this to healthy pregnancy and it is also recommended by Mr S.

What was the date of your LMP LAF? Are you finding it hard to concentrate on anything else? I am self-employed and work from home and haven't done sod all today apart from google/post! My first appt is with Mr S on Mon 25th by which time I would be meant to be 6.0.

Thanks freelance, it is just something my counsellor said about using the doppler and she told me to mention it to my midwife so they know I am regularly using it. I think she was trying to imply that I shouldn't get too dependent on it I suppose. Also, I was the same as you, I went from size 10 to 12 trousers in my first month, I think I'm a size 14 now!

LAF You can definitely ask to be tested for Vit D deficiency whilst pregnant, and I recommend getting that done this week if at all possible, because it takes around 2 weeks to process the results. Also, if they do find you are deficient, you will need to either have an injection or go on a high dose course for 6 days. I had to wait nearly 2 weeks to get a prescription because it was hard to source high dose Vit D tablets in the UK, as there is a big shortage, so my local pharmacy had to order them from America for me.
Although I know I am not out of the woods yet, I do feel something has helped me get this far into this pregnancy and I am hoping it is the Vitamin D.

I don't want anyone in real life to congratulate me when I tell them but it feels ok coming from anyone here as we have all been through the same thing! I think that's one of the reasons I plucked up the courage to post. I recognise other people too and it is incredible watching us all go through the whole experience isn't it.
