Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
6. And the presence of symptoms.
7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.

10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Agghhhhhhhhhhh just spent ages typing long post and lost it!!! Mn stupid new system of logging you out every 5 mins is bloody crap!!!

Anyway, to recap:

lara sooooo lovely to have you back! Glad holiday and meet up with wiw went well. Bratty kids and shitty parents tend to freak me out less than the reality if howi much our lives are going to change. I feel like I've already said goodbye to nice clothes shoppping and hello to mothercare! No
More nice fancy meals out, long realxing Sunday walks or afternoons in the beer garden. No more long haul or backpacking trips.... You get the gist. It's all going to be worth it I know, and I wouldn't change it, but it does cause me the odd wobble when I watch friends who can't even find the time to eat a hot meal!!!

hairy faded symptoms at 11 wks is normal, try not to worry. Hope you get in for a scan this week x

lily I found the stage you are at really hard. Nothing fitting but still trying to hide it. I found lose dresses were a god send for work as none of my work trousers fitted. Your stomach is now under your boobs-hence the growth there! have you seen this?

I have another bra question please ladies! I got fitted last weekend at Bravissimo. Told the lady I was 19wks, didn't know my size, but was having back ache and needed a new bra that fitted, but would hopefully last a while.
Most of the bras she picked put where 32FF but the one I picked was a 30FF. I questioned if a 30 was too small as it felt a bit tight and I normall buy 32D's with the odd 34...although I've never actually been measured! But she said it was the right size, had growing room and the 32FF in that bra was too big around the back. The only reason I chose the bra in the smaller size was it was the only plain one and I only wanted the one, until I knew I was happy with the sizing, so needed an all rounder! Anyway, I'm not convinced it's not too small! it's really quite tight under the boobs. In the morning it's not too bad, a bit tight but as it should be perhaps. But by the time I get half way through the day and I've eaten a couple of meals it's tight and I have a significant buldge under the wiring. I went for a 30 mins swim the other night and then had a shower and afterwards I still had red lines under my boobs. Also, I noticed last night that by the end of the day I have a red mark under each armpit, where the underwire ends. That worried me. I'm also tending to take my bra off after my evening meal as it's too uncomfortable. BUT having said that, I haven't had any upper back ache since buying the bra??!!! so, Verdict anyone???? To tight? Alright? And, if it's too tight what do I do? Go back with it and complain? Realistically will they take it back worn? It was £33 so not thrilled! Have day off tomorrow so debating whether or not to take it back, but it's in the wrong direction to where I need to go so is a bit of a treck for a wild goose chase!

Sorry to be so self obessed on here, but I am really freaking out! Had terrible stomach pains all day not sure how to describe them but I don't think they are cramps? I am getting myself in a really state I am now 7 weeks I had my 1st mc at 7.5 wks & my 2nd at 9 wks (both this year) I have also had lower back pain for about a week. I am getting a scan a week on Wednesday but fear things have already started to go wrong! I've had no bleeding or spotting but for my that has always been the last sign!xx

mrsS cramps are to be expected, and though v v scary don't always mean doom. Have a look at the link I posted to lily in my message above. Cramps could likely mean things are just moving around making room. I had lots early on too, right from about 5weeks to about 8. They tended to vary from lower groin to back pain, but it all ended up ok for me (so far anyway). Just try to be reassured that it's probably fine, but if your v worried visit your gp. I did and got an early scan, although I did have a bit of brown blood- bit it was a tiny tiny amount that I may have over exagerated in my panic

Aww lara - your lovely words made me a bit teary this morning! thank you. Did have to laugh about the lifeguard and the coconuts! You're right - I haven't really got to thinking that there will be a (fingers crossed) RL baby at the end of this - eek!

Hairy, mrssteph and others who are mentalling about lack of symptoms - they really do come and go but it is hard when they fluctuate. Any update on a last minute scan for you hairy?

We are moving villas on wednesday and the lovely internet people have already disconnected our service at our current place. No idea when the reconnection at the new place will happen and reeeeeally busy at work right now so probably won't be on here for a wee while. Have 20 week scan on thurs (eek!) and will try and post as soon as I can get to a laptop - might be a while though....

I am still having heavy spotting, brown and red. But I have reminded myself that it is when my af would have been due, so therefore could be break-through bleeding as the cramping has stopped...... limbo-land continues for me. I am desperately grasping to hope.

Collie - regarding bra - if it is making you sore it is not fitting correctly! sounds like the underwire is not correct if it is making you sore under the arm. I never look at the size of the bra, different manufacturers measure differently and different styles fit differently. You do need good support, and this may feel a little tight around the chest but red marks that are still there a long time afterwards does not sound right to me! I would definitely go and get a properly fitted bra (I no longer use sales people, but go and try on many bras til I get one that fits, supports and does not hurt!) Most sales folk are not good at dealing with larger breasted women unfortunately. I have a small back and big boobs, which makes my choice of well fitting bras very limited. You may need to go to another shop to be fitted properly.

mrss unfortunately tummy pains come with it all, which makes thing so difficult.

WIWWWWWWW!!! Miss you already! Good luck with the villa move this week. Take it easy and don't stress. I did think of you when I left Dubai as the temperature had really started to rocket... Drink lots of water! Good luck with the 20 week scan - mine isn't for bloody ages - two weeks and two freakin days to be precise.

Collie - each time I have visited Bravissimo I have had to take my bras back due to the aforementioned red marks. Their returns policy is very good and they DO take it back worn - I had to do that last time. I'd advise you to go for a slightly larger back size - you could order the plain one in a larger size on line perhaps?? BTW - what was it I heard about not wearing underwired bras in pg?? I HAVE to! I have uncontollable bazookas that need all the containing possible! I think I might have to ignore that medical / pregnancy piece of advice...

Glad you're freaking out about similar things too, Collie (if you know what I mean). Generally I am nothing but super excited about what lies ahead but then I get the odd wibble.

Ladies - I second what Collie and WIW have said about disappearing / fluctuating symptoms. Tummy pains can simply be stretching. It is perfectly normal for symptoms to change from one day to the next and then you may find too that suddenly symptoms you thought had gone suddenly return. I have a weird symptom - whilst I can eat pretty much anything and everything (including the fieriest of curries), at 19 and a bit weeks, a tiny bite of pizza or a sip of DH's lactofree milk me running to the loo to up-chuck!!

Lily - I am wearing lots of maxi dresses / shorter dresses with an empire cut. Anything tight over my tum stresses me out!

Thanks for all your reassurance, I have been a total mess all night rang the EPU this morning & they are giving me a scan at 13.30 today. Feeling a little silly now think I have maybe blown things right out of proprotion.... but at least I will find out today for sure!xx

willitbe sorry you're going through this lovely. Have you phoned gp or epu?

MrsSteph good luck for scan. I've had loads of early cramping though, and all was fine. I had scans at 6, 8 & 12 weeks, really helped with the mentalling!

Collie I'd take it back. I've worn underwires throughout all my pregs, as long as you're careful and they fit right you'll be fine.

lily I'm struggling too! I'm huuuge for 15 wks, but blaming the aspirin. I'm mainly wearing maxi dresses, long tops/short dresses with leggings, and a pair of maternity cropped linen trousers I bought. They're a bit big, but soooo comfy!

Had a fab but exhausting weekend!! Dh booked us a hotel in Bournemouth late Sat afternoon, so we rushed down there and were the beach at 8pm. It was gorgeous weather, so we had a lovely walk with dd, and dinner. Got up early-ish the following morning and had breakfast on the seafront and a wander round then packed up and went to Monkey World. That is a lovely place if you ever get the opportunity to go, and really reasonably priced. I was exhuasted and had swollen feet and ankles after all that walking though! Glad I took Collies advice and bought some Birkenstocks, my feet may have been tired but they were comfy!

Wow. Just had private scan. Baby is fine and I am 12 weeks four days :)

Glad all the people on holidays had a lovely time!

Had my 13 week scan today! Everything was fine again! Can't really believe it. Nearly died when we got home because DH was adamant the CRL measurement was 6.1cm, which would have been a week small, however after phoning up the unit and asking them the measurement again, they told me it was 6.8cm, which is a day small, but on target for 13 weeks!
I've got another scan next week and then they will decide if they will discharge me for community care or carry on with consultant led care. I've told my DD and she is very excited to be a big sister :)

I am going to attempt to amend the list if that's okay! Hope it's right :)

First time amending this list - sorry for any mistakes, I had a 3 year old climbing on my back halfway through!

I had a total mentalling free weekend , had all our friends round for a (pre pregnancy planned) party on Sat which was ace, very late night tho and was awake really early ....not drinking at parties sucks....meant more sunbathing time though . Shattered today, and having a mini-mental about sunbathing in early pregnancy ha ha

shellshock it's amazing what we mental about isn't it? I went to Glastonbury (wish I hadn't) snd I mentalled about walking too much, mud and sunburn. .

milkyways congrats :) It does take a long time to actually believe it - we were lucky at the private scan because she took plenty of pictures and lots of time to re-assure us and show us all the little bits :)

Scan went very well... saw a heart beating like a drum i'm just 6+1 got another scan on the 20 of July Still early days but such a good feeling!!xx

I am still burying my head in the sand, I am using every excuse under the sun to ignore the obvious that is happening. I have a scan next week, which until that time, I will continue acting as if I am still pregnant. My excuse today is that I am using vaginal progesterone, and that is the cause of the bleeding, hey, I can convince myself of anything right now, to ignore reality!!!! I am resting and making the most a wonderfully lazy time, eating lots of chocolate. I will get back to exercising and getting fit next week, when reality has to come back. Until then, the chocolate is plentiful around here.
