Who's in?

BlooferLady · 14/06/2011 11:21

Twins, good point - I'd better order another ball of angora

Epic formatting fail too. I clearly have a case of preg-head.

LoveInAColdClimate · 14/06/2011 11:38

Ooooh, Bloofer, you are so pregnant. Get knitting!

Have spoken to GP - she is going to refer us both to a specialist for some more tests. Doesn't that mean I'm bound to be pregnant this month? Or do I have to have some sort of painful test done first that will turn out to have been entirely unnecessary as I will get updiffed before even getting results?

Does anyone know what will happen at the first consultation with specialist? Will anything actually be done there and then (will DH have to, um, give a sample?) or will it just be a chat and a look at my charts? Am going NHS as even though my insurance covers fertility investigation it doesn't cover any treatment at all (unsurprisingly) so if ended up being prescribed anything would cost a fortune and I think would get complicated trying to switch between NHS and private.

BlooferLady · 14/06/2011 11:52

Ah, well now, I haven't yet made it to the fertility clinic (we have another 4 months to go, I think, until we're pushed 'up the line' as it were) but had most of the tests done about 15 months ago (long story, but as soon as we started TTC i started bleeding all over the shop so they did an MOT to check for mmcs and suchlike), before seeing the specialists.

They just had a chat and gave us heaps of forms and bottles and suchlike, and we had to book blood tests (for both), a scan and an extra smear thing for me, and a sample for the OM. Then we had to remember to get them all done and get round to seeing the GP again to talk through the results. It took a while to do all this partly because I honestly thought, every time I had one of the tests, that there was no point booking the follow-up appointment cos I'd be diffed by then anyway

In summary, I doubt you'll have anything done there and then, but will be asked to make bookings over the coming coupla cycles.

allhailtheaubergine · 14/06/2011 15:03

Welcome back Bloof. Pull up a Swiss ball.

I have a symptom! A REAL one! Last night.... ... I was too tired to finish my wine and I went to bed leaving it undrunk.

Shock

Holy Moly aubergine that happened to me on Sunday! There;s definitely something occuring here....

And I feel sick, which of course means I am with child Smile

Lintilla · 14/06/2011 15:16

I've just weed on a stick and I'm sodding well ovulating and DH is away and I'm not going to see him until Thursday/Friday. He went yesterday morning so we last did sexing on Sunday. It's not going to work this month is it?

On a positive note I finally got the stupid weeing sticks to work.

Oh poo.

allhailtheaubergine · 14/06/2011 15:16

I tell you, if some intergalactic universal cock-up means I am not with child this month, I am going to be seriously pissed off about that waste of wine.

OP posts:
allhailtheaubergine · 14/06/2011 15:19

Oh Lintilla. How excruciating.

The Sunday sperm could very well still be in the running swimming.

Could you perhaps stand on your head for the next 12 hours?

OP posts:
maybebabyR · 14/06/2011 15:31

Haha, I agree with aubergine lintilla. The sperm bit that is, not the standing on the head. I fear that may become a tad uncomfortable.

I shall be having a glass of vino later. Which makes me a bad potential mother, though I feel I may pass on my penchant for the grapey stuff!!

BlooferLady · 14/06/2011 15:47

ARGH I'm sorry Lintilla, that's the most inFURiating thing. DH works shifts, and long ghastly ones too, so the chances of us both being awake and in the same postcode whilst I'm ovulating are pretty slender too. My simpaffies. They do last long they don't they, the little buggers, so you might 'catch' it still.

Maybe I too shall be availing myself of all that vinous this evening, though I shall be exercising restraint. Partly because I am of course great with child, but also because I am a big fat fatty bo batty and obviously will need to start thinking about avoiding Gestational Diabetes.

Now then, who wants to start talking maternity fashions?

BlooferLady · 14/06/2011 15:48

All that IS vinous, I mean. Jeez Bloof, if you're gonna be pretentious do it accurately Hmm

maybebabyR · 14/06/2011 15:52

Hahaha, bloofer your posts make me chuckle. Are you suggesting that any of us might actually have looked at maternity clothes? Us? No.......

BlooferLady · 14/06/2011 15:54
Grin

I might have SLIGHTLY looked at my existing wardrobe and estimated what will last up to the 5 month mark. I am persuading myself that as I'm quite fat anyway it'll be a while before any preg-type belly makes a notable appearance. Obviously I'll be finding out soon enough though, so...

havealittlefaithbaby · 14/06/2011 15:55

I puked this morning and yesterday morning! I think FF is stupid and has my ovulation date too early. It's ok the sexing occurred around my alternative ovulation date so have cracked it either way. That's why the pee stick was wrong this morning! Asked it to confirm too early.
Tough break lintilla and bloof. U used to work shifts first 8 months of ttc was tricky cos of that!

BlooferLady · 14/06/2011 16:01

Ooooo! Actual vomming! HURRAH! Are you testing again tomorrow have?

Lintilla · 14/06/2011 16:06

Thanks everyone, that's cheered me up. And I'll have a nice glass of something this evening which will work wonders.

It was the same last month too. He was away right in the middle of the cycle (aside from the fact I thought I had ovulated on day 8). It will be a year in August since we started trying and I was going to talk to the doctor about it but I'm not sure now because we've missed at least 2 cycles through him being away, and possibly the one before but I really can't remember now.

Oh well, next month will be the month. I didn't want two birthdays that close together anyway so it's all worked out well (DD Feb). In fact I did it on purpose. Definitely.

Lintilla · 14/06/2011 16:06

Oh, well done with the puking, definite proof!

maybebabyR · 14/06/2011 17:23

Wohoo for puking have Grin

havealittlefaithbaby · 14/06/2011 17:58

Why thanks! I'd test right now if it weren't for DH doing DIY in the bathroom and fear of him accusing me of being insane it being pointless!
I've got internet cheapies which I used this am. Will do another in the morning and bring the big guns superdrug test. I'm cd24 my longest was 28 but that one looked to be anovulatory.
Did I see some "if I'm not this month" from aubers. No, no, no. No wavering!! You are pregnant!
Ooh excellent news! My secondment finishes in September, I had a job to go back to but they are merging my.dept with another before I go back. So there's so job.for me and I'll be applying in a couple months (just as I'm starting to show).timing simply could NOT be worse Grin

havealittlefaithbaby · 14/06/2011 17:59

Meamt to say superdrug if no af or bfp by Thursday!

Ariesgirl · 14/06/2011 20:00

Bloofer? BLOOFER? Is that you?

Next spring then ladies, we will all be dandling our newborns on our knees. I am approximately 9 hours pregnant. Should I be feeling sick yet too?

LoveInAColdClimate · 14/06/2011 20:20

Ooooh, everyone is pregnant but have is extra pregnant! Thanks for advice re first appointment, Bloofer - at least I can reassure DH he's not going to have to produce a sperm sample first time, anyway. I feel sick - this is obviously an especially powerful pregnancy as am only on CD4 Grin.

maybebabyR · 14/06/2011 20:22

I'd be expecting it any minute now aries Grin

herethereandeverywhere · 14/06/2011 20:34

Hi all,

Great news ladies on the variety of pregnant symptoms and states (but all very pregnant of course!)

I'm still in with a sliver of a chance this month (a theoretical one anyway). POAS Sunday gone and got BFN Sad Boo. But the cramping has faded a bit and aside from [TMI alert!] some slightly funny coloured discharge, af is still AWOL. Last month was a 32 day cycle which will be Thursday so I'm not POAS again until Fri if AF has still not arrived. I'd better be bl*dy updiffed otherwise she's bggering up my holiday preg-fest shag plan.

thelittlefriend · 14/06/2011 20:39

Well I've been lurking on here for a while and finally feel obliged to post. Bloofer, you asked if anyone wanted to discuss maternity fashion? Well, I can proudly say, I ORDERED a lovely maternity top last week. This is how convinced I was am that I am pregnant. Getting af today has slightly spoiled the party, but this month eh?
