I'm 5ft 4 and 11st, used to be 9 1/2, been on and off weightwatchers and now heaviest I've been- know I should lose weight and get fit (now get breathless running upstairs, used to run 20k a week) but it's just SO HARD! Emotional eating, seeing friends with kids/preg Envy , AF arrives, Wine vicious circle! I know I'm not HUGE in the scheme of things but would like a) to be fit and b) to have less to lose after (hopefully) baby! Urgh, I'm a moaner aren't I- I know what I need to do, just no willpower!

Ringing any bells for anyone?!

Oh dear, appear to have ripped my hamstring. Suspect exercise may be off the cards for a couple of days!

Yup, I am. Been doing ww for about 8 weeks - lost nearly a stone and a half so far. Have PCOS so it's always been a bit of an issue....not that that's an excuse. I have been broody since I was about 18 (!) and DH has always said he's not that fussed about having kids so I was kind of not really expecting to have them but over half term (teacher!) we had the discussion and so now we are trying. My doc has been amazing, obv need to lose more weight but she has booked me in for bloods tomorrow and a scan; I always panicked that it'd be a nightmare but she truly made me feel like it was possible. Good luck with TTC. :-)

Hello ladies, can I quietly slip in at the back?? Went to dr's last week as struggling to concieve #3, she was quite nice about it and told me not to worry but indicated that I should lose weight, so here I am having failed miserably on slimming world for the last 12 weeks, last night went to tesco and stocked up on slim fast yes drastic I know but I have to remove food altogether as I can't control it!!! A bit like ttc lol please cross your fingers that I can do it and it helps :)

bex/havea - sorry to hear about the strain, definitely rest it or you'll make it worse!

holls - horray for positive doctors - PCOS isn't a showstopper.... and often being pg clears it I believe....

going lovely to have you with us - sorry you've been struggling to concieve #3..... and good luck with the weight loss... I used to drink SlimFast.... But I found that while I lost weight I then put it back on again when I ate real food... FX you'll have better luck... How come SW didn't work for you?

I had my SW weigh in this morning and stayed the same this week - I'm actually quite pleased with that in a funny way as I didn't eat as well as the week before when I lost 1.5lb was actually worried I might have put some on!

Hi goingmad - sorry you struggling on SW, I am doing SW for ttc#1 and it works I found when I stuck to it, though hard to stick to it... but could you eat lots of fruit and veg on top of your slim fasts to help you keep healthy etc in case you conceive? Hope it works for you.

Hi knitter - glad you maintained, I am always happy when do that! Though I lost 1.5lbs today, still not made up for the massive gain last week, sigh! I was told to look at it as a monthly loss rather than each week to stop feeling so despondant!

I found the IVF made me gain 3/4 of a stone - or maybe it was all the extra protein shakes etc I had to try and grow good eggs, so still have that to lose as well as the comfort eating.

havealittle - ouch, hope it heals well!

Hello all. Oh dear, I'm on the curves diet phase 3 atm when I'm meant to gain a few lb (it's to kick start metabolism so you can eat more calories when you get to goal without gaining again) but I lost! must eat more!! What a shame Wink.
Leg is sore but MUCH better than last night. My sister is coming round to massage it but at least I could walk on it!

vegas welcome - lovely to have you join us :-)

Reasonably well behaved today - although I did have an accidental piece of chocolate cake. the main thing that makes a difference to me is to have loads of fruit on my desk at work - two bananas, two pears and two plums consumed today!

Hi Vegas! Welcome to you. Great news, my leg is massively improved! Think it may have been a spasm rather than a soft tissue injury based on how quickly it's improved.
Reckon I'll be back to the gym next week. Being good with my food choices while waiting to exercise again!

Hi ladies. Finally did it and joined Slimming World this week. Was slipping with my weightloss and was looking for something a bit more support. So far (day two) loving it. Everyone was so nice at the meeting and snacking on every fruit imaginable. Even with 2 stone to go I think it will be so beneficial to eat so healthy. Wish me luck

havea good news on the leg - phew!

Colleen I find SW very easy and as long as I don't allow myself too many treats I do loose weight every week...

Did a 40 minute run round Finsbury Park in North London last night - really lovely - never been there before but was tempted up by www.parkrace.org ... I'm trying to do every event in the series!

Pleasingly my trousers seem a bit looser this morning too :)

Hi all, I'm new to MN but been looking around and pleased to find this thread. We're hoping to ttc in Nov\Dec time but I'd really like to loose some weight before then. I'm 5ft 5in and almost 11.5st. I've managed to put the weight on since Xmas and not managed to shift it. Ideally I'd like to loose 1.5st before we ttc, hopefully I'll find some motivation by reading everyone's progress on here Smile

Good luck to everyone else with their weightloss! x

Glad you had a good first meeting at SW Colleen - I picked up lots of simple tips, like use fry light to cook with etc that really helped me.

All best in weight loss Beccalou

I'm.still too broken to go to.gym.but reckon I'll be ok by end of week. Maintaining weight according to Curves plan so am happy with that.1/2 could be down to eating salt that day before knitter! Don't despair. We'll keep going together.

Did some serious exercising yesterday and was VERY good on the food front... Tuesday is always my best day!

I cycled 4.8 miles to work

Then ran for 43 minutes
then cycld 6.6 miles home

Get me! Whoop!

I'm now sitting at work looking at a mountain of fruit and determined to track down a healthy lunch... :)

Knitter that is an amazing amount of exercise!!

Well I lost 2lb at SW which has made me feel back on track, even if a long way to go to get my BMI to 25/6 (it is 29)

Now that activa mega creamy caramel sounds great.... strawberries however lovely they are are not doing it for me right now.

Please may I join in? 18 months ago I was 5'5 and a tidy size 10-12. Now after 10 months of Venlafaxine (anti depressant) I'm 12st12lb and closer to a 16. I went completely drug free (including the pill) two weeks on Thursday (last AF), and while we're not TTC, we've been a little, erm, lax about the condoms since then Blush

I'm hoping that between the lack of meds (weight gain and water retention are common side effects) and 6 weeks with a personal trainer (thank you DP) I'll drop it all pretty quick! DP runs 3-4 times a week, so our diet is pretty healthy until we open the strawberries and treat ourselves to icecream instead of yoghurt

Hello purple! Welcome, grab s treadmill and join us. I struggled with weight issues with depression/antidepressants. Lost loads when very depressed through not really eating, then appetite on the meds. So! Well done you for getting through it and bring med free! Word of warning I came off happy pills and contraceptive pill at the same time, my sex drive went through the roof!!!!

Heehee, thanks havea! DP and I met 18 months ago and he reckoned I was a close rival to Anna Friel in a swimming costume Shock but it was all from feeling sick at the thought of food and crying all the time. Now we're trying to do it through exercise and diet. Luckily, fruit yoghurt and honey is one of my favourite things and i can scoff chocolate at youth club every week Wink

He's definitely not complaining about the sex drive, just the having to wear a condom bit - doesn't work for either of us Confused but we don't want to mess with the hormones iyswim?
