Anyone else trying to lose weight for TTC?

I'm 5ft 4 and 11st, used to be 9 1/2, been on and off weightwatchers and now heaviest I've been- know I should lose weight and get fit (now get breathless running upstairs, used to run 20k a week) but it's just SO HARD! Emotional eating, seeing friends with kids/preg Envy , AF arrives, Wine vicious circle! I know I'm not HUGE in the scheme of things but would like a) to be fit and b) to have less to lose after (hopefully) baby! Urgh, I'm a moaner aren't I- I know what I need to do, just no willpower!

Ringing any bells for anyone?!

Ta muchly! I even went for a run yesterday (I'm so not a runner!) Cos the gym is closed on Sundays. I am impressed with myself.
Not sure how the weight loss has gone in last day, have enjoyed a cheeky slice of lasange and bbq food! But not as much as I normally would. Also travelled today and avoided that haribo star mix/cadbury eclairs trap I normally fall in to Smile. Gym again tomorrow!

Hi can I join, I am the tall and wide one. I am 5'10 and started out at... wait for it... 17st 5 and now 14 stone. So I am out halfway there but getting alll my eggs in the right basket while looking forward to TTC. So wish you all the best of luck and hope to join the wagon in a couple more months.

My reasons really for holding back on ttc has been that I want to get to a healthy bmi, the last few months have been a lot of work but trying my hardest to get there.

Hi ladies can I join you? I'm 5ft4 and was 13 stone 4 in january. Now down to 12 stone 4 but bmi is still far too high at 29 so I need to lose at least the same again Blush

I am very good when I'm at work as I am far too busy to eat a lot but when I'm at home I stuff my face out of boredom.

I'm too shy to go to the gym but have started going on long walks and it seems to be working so far, just need to keep it up!

Hey... lovely to see new people :-)

Had my weigh in at Slimming World yesterday - 1.5lb lost in the last week which I'm quite pleased with :-)

Then went for a 40 min run in the evening too - whoop whoop!

Hey well done knitter!, that's with a bank.holiday weekend too!!!. Maybe this going running thing is contagious Hmm.
Welcome to itsohsoquiet, do you have a strategy in mind? I go to Curves gym its ladies only, all shapes and sizes. I hate normal.gums they're so dull! Curves is v friendly and not.too.expensive, worth seeing if there's one nearby!

Bex - thanks... running is weird because I love it when I go and feel so pleased with myself. BUT it takes me AGES to talk myself into going for a run and almost anything will be an excuse not to go... Why do I faff about with all the inner dialogue - wish I could answer that one!

I'm going to try and go for a little run tonight.... Actually do you see what I just did there? Let's try that again...

I AM going to go for a little run tonight. I'll be home from work about 6.30 and then am meeting a friend for dinner at 8.. so that gives me 90 minutes in which to go for a run, shower etc.... Come on Knitter - you can do it!!

Well done on the loss Knitter. How are you finding Slimming World? I am veggie but was thinking when I am in the last stone phase of my weightloss if I get really stuck I was thinking of trying SW. Would you say it's a vegetarian friendly plan?

Hooray! Have lost another lb and my measurements have gone down! Quite a bit on my tummy (like 1.5 inches!).
Boot camp at the gym was hardcore!!!!! I seriously doubt I'll be able to walk tomorrow....I was so red and sweaty, felt a bit like being back at school p.e. lesson!
Sure it'll be worth it...Hmm

colleen I'm a veggie too.
My mum lost a lot of weight doing slimming world and I looked through all the meal plans and there are plenty for veggies to eat.
So I don't know what my excuse is really for not trying it Grin

bex there isn't a curve gym near me but my brother said he will join a gym with me. There is a new one that has just opened near us which only costs £15 a month with no contract. Bargain!

Always good to have a gym buddy! I dragged my two colleagues along for company! Good on you.
Not too sore today, just bad on my right bottom cheek. May get worse as day goes on but still gonna go to curves after work!

Colleen I'm not veggie but i think SW is quite veggie friendly - 'green' meals are Veggie meals if I remember rightly....

bex great work on the lb and inches - go girl!

Well embarassingly I didn't go out for a run yesterday evening - after all my big talk :( tut tut.... must try harder!

Very impressive Bex

Nothing very exciting to report from me - although I am going running with my sister tomorrow - Morden Hall Park in SW London which should be nice :-)

Actually I should also confess to a chocolate muffin today too - only had a yoghurt for breakfast so by the time 10am arrived I was hungry and weak-willed... now feel cross with myself (and the irony is that I didn't even really enjoy the muffin!) I do have a salad with me for lunch though so that cancels out some of the muffin naughty-ness... doesn't it

Hooray to 4th gym visit of the week (get me!) that's 3 weeks of going 4 times. I will indeed have buns of steel!
Shame to have scoffed a muffin and not even enjoyed it! I can't eat wheat which is a bummer but in a way it's good because it's not a case of trying to avoid temptation, it's a case of having to or I'm SOOOOOO ill!
The run sounds nice! I'll have no car tomorrow so now gym but may do some housework and gardening, all cardio right?!

Crazy high calorie brownie. I used to love the ones from Costa Coffee til I found out they were 500 calories too.

I was eying up slimming world this week online and they support pregnant members which I found interesting. It's the only slimming club I know to let expecting woman stay on. Sounds pretty positive to me seeing I am trying to shift the last couple of stone before TTC.

Colleen yes SW is fine when you're pg... with my last pregnancy I thought I'd be asked to leave but she said you can carry on - it's also fine with bf-ing although you have one more dairy portion a day to keep your calcium levels up...

This doesn't feel like a good week for me - weigh in is tomorrow - I've made reasonable food choices... and been for two runs... but just have a feeling that I coudl have done better... will let y'all know... In my dreams the scales will say 14 stone something... but I think they'll probably still say 15 stone something.... :( As long as it's not a bigger number than last week's weigh in....

Knitter all the best for your weigh in... mine is tomorrow, although I have been for 2 long walks my baking session hasn't helped!
