Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage? There is plenty of support, hand holding and problem-shared-problem-halved going on over here. All welcome to join in.

wombatinwaiting your plan sounds a good one but wouldn't you have the NT and bloods in Dubai and only head to the uk if it was high risk? After all, if it comes back as a 1:10000 chance you surely wouldn't bother with cvs?

I can't help with the mad dreams as I usually have pretty mad dreams anyway so no change here! The one good thing is that I usually know it's a dream at the time and (rather bizarrely) I can usually wake myself up if I'm getting too freaked out!

ninu difficult decision re the NT scan; dh and I do have an agreed cut-off point for how far we would go with the testing route but I do believe that until you're in the position of having to make that decision you don't know how you will feel or what you will want to do. Very difficult if you think you may not agree on where to stop/what to do - maybe you need to sit down and talk this through a bit more before you make any decisions?

velvet good luck for today x

blackkat best wishes for your dad for today too x

PinkFondantFancy · 15/04/2011 08:02

hello all I've been lurking but too knackered to post :(

Good luck today velvet!

Best wishes to your dad today blackkat, glad the pink goo had buggered off.

CEP sorry things are still stressful :(

WIW weird dreams here too-think I've started worrying about the 20 week scan coming in a few weeks now....

Waves and hugs to all, I'm back off to bed now Confused

wombatinwaiting · 15/04/2011 08:04

Thanks cep - keep us posted on what happens today - here's hoping you get a great scan today and can relax over the weekend.... did I just say relax? As if....! My scan is 10am my time / 7am your time - 47 hours away - not that I"m counting or anything Hmm

Sorry izzy - didn't make myself very clear - yes, I will def have the NT and bloods here to get the risk factor and then decide if we need to get on a plane or not. DH and I are still to decide what we consider a low enough risk to stay..... this is of course assuming all goes well at Sunday's 8 week-ish scan - feels like aaaaaages til 11 weeks.......

I need to learn your trick of waking myself up before the weirdness really kicks in....

wombatinwaiting · 15/04/2011 08:05

x-post pink - enjoy your dream-free (hopefully!) snooze

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 15/04/2011 08:30

Also, if the stork is listening I'd really like it if you could bless our pal yrmotb with a bean please, she's been v patient and it must be her turn by now?! Thank you Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 15/04/2011 09:09

I second that wish for yrmotb - I'm still looking after her VIP beanbag here and it would be lovely to have her actually sat on it

LaraMi · 15/04/2011 09:14

Morning Ladies - hope you're all well. A general feeling of pukiness kicked in yesterday and is prevailing this morning. Hoping it's MS as much as it makes me miserable to feel like this at work.

Good luck to scanners today.

Hope all's well with your Dad today Blackkat. Have you gone to the EPU yet? Wishing you lots of good news.

DoubleDiffedDachs · 15/04/2011 09:42

mamap Both babies are still there but being uncooperative about showing what flavour they are. Went to see my doc yesterday and he did a quick scan (they're getting so big now, they were all curled up and one of them looked like it was sucking its thumb... v. cute). V v tired, but prob not as tired as you! Your place looks great.

We made a momentous decision yesterday - we chose the pram we are going to get. Assuming everything goes ok.

I still have no bump, I just look like an enormous elephant. I wake up in the morning with a little but definite bump and by the time I've got up and brushed my teeth and left the hosue, the bump has disappeared! It's very annoying.

pink Hope you start feeling a bit better soon :)

yrmotb I am also making sure that no-one nicks your reserved bean bag, and we have special snacks saved for when you arrive.

Good luck to all scanners, and blackkat I hope it all goes ok today.

Velvetcu · 15/04/2011 09:44

mamap I know I can't believe it's 12 weeks already!

I third the wish for yrmotb please please please Grin

blackkat i hope everything goes well for you and you Dad today.

Lara glad you are pleased with your ms.

Pink have a good nap, try not to worry too much about upcoming scans. Does it ever end?

Youremindmeofthebabe · 15/04/2011 09:56

Aw. Thanks guys. I really wish I was over here too. And I am being very patient

What I really came by for was to say good luck to velvet! 12 weeks. I can't believe it... Best of luck my lovely.

kat2504 · 15/04/2011 09:58

dachs choosing pram sounds exciting, a twin pram must involve all sorts of complicated options. Hopefully next time you'll see the flavour. Do you know if they are identical or not? I'm assuming that they probably can't be if they are ivf babies. So there's an evens chance of one of each. I think that would be sooo nice. Although obviously whatever flavour doesn't matter one jot once they are here safe and sound.

Lara is this the first day you've had ms? I think you are two days ahead of me so there's hope for me yet! Hopefully you are just feeling pukey and not actually being sick!

DoubleDiffedDachs · 15/04/2011 10:18

kat Prob non identical - they have their own sacs and placentas and given the difference in size they were when they started off it's highly likely that they are non id but there's a 0.1-0.5% chance that they could be identical.

I'm pretty sure at least one of them is a girl because although we couldn't get a really clear picture it did look to me like the 'hamburger' way they describe a girl looking, but the doc said that given that it wasn't clear all we could tell was that it wasn't definitely a boy, as it could just be too early to tell

So fingers crossed for next time!

We've decided to go for a side by side pram rather than the 'one on top of the other' option that lots of twin prams have these days. The Bugaboo Donkey, which is the one we're going to go for, is small enough as a side by side that it will fit through our front door and you get much better visibility of the babies than you do in the other type of pram. We played with loads of prams for ages yesterday before we made up our minds! Although we now have a dilemma because it's obviously far too early to order one as I'm only 15 weeks but given that they are a new model and selling out fast, I don't want to miss out on our opportunity to get one before the babies arrive and there was some talk on the internet that when the current supply runs out there won't be any more until September...

velvet everything crossed for you today

and yrmotb if i see a stork I'll grab it, put it in a box and make sure it gets couriered over to you asap...

LaraMi · 15/04/2011 10:53

Kat - to clarify, I haven't BEEN sick, just felt pukey, before and after eating all day yesterday and this morning. For the past couple of weeks though my loud, erm, burping has been getting steadily worse (of course I don't let rip in the office!!) I too am super worried that I should be feeling worse. Am 7 weeks today BTW. I have been wondering if I am only feeling sick because I am concentrating on whether I feel sick - i.e. if I forgot about it and went off and did stuff for a few hours, would I feel as pukey as I think I've been feeling (if you know what I mean)? Aside from that I am super tired, but again wonder as per the above - if I wasn't concentrating on feeling knackered, would I feel so tired?

All very confusing and I remain as neurotic as hell wishing I hadn't had my scan at 6 weeks but instead at 8 weeks. But then again I had to capture the moment while DH complied - had I left it another couple of weeks he might have changed his mind and then I'd not have had any scan at all!

Wowsas Dachs - that buggy really is the mother of all buggies. Almost Ferrari-like... I love the phrases they use on these sites (custom-built etc). Definitely trying to appeal to blokes. I have stipulated that when the time comes, money will be no object when it comes to buying the buggy as depending on which buggy you choose, every single journey outside the house will either be pure pleasure or sheer pain. Don't wait any longer Dachs - just buy it... you'll be cursing otherwise if you miss this batch of stock.

Wombat33 · 15/04/2011 10:55

Morning all. Absolutely knackered and feeling under the weather so I'm afraid I haven't read back but I though it might brighten your mornings to know that Brian was in spectacular form at my house this morning: I just went to the loo at work to find I have my trousers on backwards Blush Blush Blush

MumTumWanted · 15/04/2011 11:06

knitter i second what all these other lovely ladies have said after the journey you have had what a sad and unfair ending for you. I agree that given the same position i too would choose as you have done. I realise this is not much comfort but thoughts are with you ((((hugs))))

be kind to yourself hun x

LaraMi · 15/04/2011 11:06

Thought I'd better pull my weight and do this today... I hope there aren't any inaccuracies... Kat - when are you putting yourself on there - I need to move up this list!

Just re-posting as we'd lost the "thinking of" section Smile

lara I agree, we need some more people to add themselves, it's scary being so near the bottom.

Btw if it helps I'm kind of feeling the opposite about scans - why haven't I had one already instead of being so restrained and waiting for 8 weeks?! What if I've spent all this time thinking I'm diffed and then I go next Tuesday and there's nothing there?!

Oops - sorry, forgot the "thinking of section" at the bottom. Sorry Ladies... See, told you I am new to this! Thanks for adding Izzy.

You have nothing to worry about, am sure, Izzy - at least you will be closer to 12 weeks when you have your scan whereas anything could have happened to my bean in the meantime.

Collie2 · 15/04/2011 11:45

Hi everyone, sorry for not reading back properly, theres been a lot of chatter over the past day or so and i'm just knackered. morning all day sickness is taking its toll. Up all night last night so working from home to avoid having another sick day, but its proving rather unsuccessfull!! Really struggling to keep anything down and have totally lost my appetite which is very unlike me.

Izzy you mentioned a while ago that you were planning a 12 week private scan bcs you wanted a late dating scan on the nhs. Is that why your having your NT private as it would be too late or bcs you think the services would be better? I think the wait that poor knitter had to go through was just awful.

cep glad you've managed to get a scan at EPU, did you ring them direct to ask?

Lara I feel a bit like i wish i'd have put off the scan when refered at 6 weeks, as i'm so anxious about going out next week, but then on the other hand i was so worried at the time that it wasn't a 'real' pg.

mamapower · 15/04/2011 11:49

Grin Grin Grin wombat I am a right miserable cow this morning as morning sickness is back with a vengeance (yes I am 16 weeks, pah) and you and Brian are the only things to make me laugh all morning mwah Grin

I'm meeting my new midwife on wednesday but I spoke to her earlier this week and when I said I wanted a home birth she seemed immediately positive and supportive! let's hope they're still saying that when they realise I'm in the arse end of nowhere and 50min's from the nearest hospital!!!

banana87 · 15/04/2011 11:56

Hi all,

Just thought I'd add myself to the list. Am very sick so have not been able to name check, sorry. Hope everyone is ok, thinking of you knitter. Good luck to all who have scans today.
