Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage? There is plenty of support, hand holding and problem-shared-problem-halved going on over here. All welcome to join in.

minnie so sorry you've had some blood. How is it this morning? At battery said if you get worried you can always go to a&e.

hadrian · 08/05/2011 10:26

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that minnie. I know how impossible it is to keep calm but lots of women have a lot of bleeding and go on to have a successful pregnancy. Is someone there to give you hugs and tea?

Freezingmyarseoff · 08/05/2011 11:10

So happy for your BFP hairy that's fantastic news

Minnie74 · 08/05/2011 11:14

Dp being pretty good with the hugs hadrian

Had some more bleeding this morning after going to the loo again. Got some cramps too. I rang the epu and they said try not to worry and rest up. Unless it's bright red and heavy it might be just normal. Pretty impossible not to worry! Can't keep myself off the mc threads either which i know i need to, as it's really not helping!

Could it be cervical erosion? Has anyone had this? I'm probably just clutching at straws Hmm Just gutted that even seeing a heartbeat doesn't really mean everything's going to be ok. I'm pretty scared and sad to be fair. xx

wombatinwaiting · 08/05/2011 12:18

Sending more hugs minnie - so sorry that you're going through this stressful time. Is there anything that might distract you (and perhaps keep you off the mc threads - hard I know....)

Sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time of it too battery - do keep us posted x

MummyAbroad · 08/05/2011 13:56

battery very glad the bleeding has stopped, hope you get some good cleaxene info soon.

minnie sorry that are going through the scary bleeding thing too. I had a big gush of blood early on and things are going fine now (14 weeks) so it doesnt always end badly. The bleeding can be caused by lots of things, cervical erosion, fibroids, polyps, adhesions, etc - dont google them!! bascially there are lots of things you can have in a mild form, and many just take care of themselves - some fibroids for example just shrink and disappear on their own so you never even see them on a scan. Try not to worry about what is causing it though, just use it as an excuse to get more rest. Rest in early pregnancy will always help you feel better about everything. Hope it stops soon. I agree with the others if you can get to an EPU for advice, the do so. Its the only way you will get some reassurance and be able to worry less.

Minnie I hope you are feeling better this afternoon. I have little bleeds every 2 weeks when I would have had af or ovd and everything seems ok here.

battery take it easy tomorrow, I wouldn't bother with work if you're going to be stressing all day about bleeding.

I love my doppler sooo much! I've been hearing bean kick for a week or so and it confirmed this morning that when he does a big wriggle I can feel him too Grin it's freaking me out a bit tho!

cep · 08/05/2011 16:14

velvet what doppler do you have?? am wondering whether it's worth buying one or not.

Does anyone else have one? if so which one and is it any good.

velvet Envy Envy at you being able to feel your baby move - I'm a month ahead and I can't feel anything sob sob

Ninunina · 08/05/2011 16:56

minnie and battery I hope things have calmed down for both of you. A lot of us have had scares, and although its hard to be reassured when it happens to you, most of us have come out of it ok. In my case the bleeding was caused by implantation at 9 weeks.

Thinking of you both!

Velvetcu · 08/05/2011 17:08

cep it's This one. A friend gave me it but its pretty cheap anyway.

sorry Pink :( - maybe you can feel it but just dont know? I've been worried that it was just my imagination and wishful thinking. Mine kind of feels like wind and I only worked out it was definately different when I had quite bad wind at the same time! My fart bubbles go down the sides of my stomach and through/above my belly button whereas baby wriggles are more central and very low, just above my pubic bone. Whereabouts is your placenta too? Mine is very high so it isnt in the way (I can hear the pulse in it/the cord on the doppler too).

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 17:19

velvet that sounds like it would be in the right place - v. exciting! Sooooo tempted to get a doppler but I can't be trusted not to be a mentalist with it so I have given it a miss. DH reckons he can hear bubbles from the baby if he puts his ear on my stomach - he reckons he can hear the difference between baby bubbles and gas bubbles Hmm If it keeps him happy that's fine by me!! Grin BTW I'm not having a go at you, I am v. excited for you - just v. v. v. v. v. v. v. v. impatient for me!!!! As you might have noticed from this thread and the TTC thread over the last year or so, patience is definitely not one of my strong points....Blush

cep · 08/05/2011 17:54

velvet Grin that's the one i'm looking at. dh is really anti though so don't know. He's not interested if it reassures me or not he thinks i shouldn't be worried in the first place now that i've passed the 12 weeks. Apparently it's mn's fault that i'm worried. He thinks that just because he says it'll be ok that should be enough for me. Hmm i pointed out that he said it would be ok before the bad scan last time but apparently that's irrelevant now.

Velvetcu · 08/05/2011 18:05

cep DH didnt really want me to have one either but he quite likes it now for a few reasons - 1) if im mentalling he just tells me to go and listen to it so he doesnt have to deal with me, I stop mentalling within minutes since I know it's ok 2) he likes hearing it too sometimes 3) sometimes i just sit there quietly listening to it which means he can get on with watching tv/playing xbox etc etc

cep · 08/05/2011 18:08

velvet i'm printing that to show him, see what he says. Grin the one on ebay has now gone the same price as brand new anyway. even if it did come with a book as well.

RetroMaggie · 08/05/2011 18:26

Hi all, I am a lurker (hope you don't mind!). I'm so sorry you've all been thro mc, it is such a hard thing to handle.
I had a mc almost a year ago. I'm now on day 33 of a usually 25 day cycle. And had the thinest of lines on a sainsburys test 3 days ago and have retested on tesco ones and got bf's. Just retested on a sainsburys and got the same visible in some light lines. The mc was after a slow developing start and feint lines so I'm feeling the need to brace myself for a tough ride. (mc'd week 9). Will test again in morning but seem to need to pee in the middle of the night so really don't know when best to test. Toying with seeing the doc, but don't know if it is too early to ask for a blood test?
Thank you for reading, feeling lost in limbo land.

cep · 08/05/2011 18:28

the man is unbelievable, out of all that he picked up the bit about your dh listening and said well i'm not here anyway so no your not buying one, (apparently being in the garage all the time counts as not being here) he really doesn't care about it being reassuring for me cause i don't need reassurance because it'll all be ok. if he'd have said no because i'm worried you'll get stressed/worried if you don't hear anything i wouldn't have minded.

cep · 08/05/2011 18:30

hello retro i see no reason why you wouldn't be able to ask for one, to see how the hcg levels proceed. I'm sure if you explain about last time and what happened they would understand. Do they tend to be reassuring?

tiggersreturn · 08/05/2011 18:36

Cep the key to recalcitrant dh's is to make their lives so miserable that they have no alternative but to give in. Bursting into tears and waking him up at 1.30am every night because you're worrying about your pg might do the trick. (I do that anyway unfortunately and my dh is lovely). Not making supper? No sex (you're too busy thinking it'll go wrong)?Disconnecting all supplies to his garage?

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 18:39

Hi retro sorry to hear about your MC last year. How about testing on a different brand e.g. clearblue or first response? Or trying a clearblue digital test - I found that having something that clearly said 'pregnant' was much more reassuring than a skinny line. Some brands seem to only ever give a skinny line no matter now far along you are. I'm not sure how successful you'll be with getting a blood test - I guess it depends on how generally sympathetic your GP generally tends to me. No harm in asking though.

cep I've just ordered a pinard - not sure how easy they'll be to use and I think it will only be of any use to DH until I've got such a big bump that I can get my ear closer to it, but I figured that if DH can hear the heartbeat, I'll take his word for it that all's well. They only cost £5 and they are passive (don't use soundwaves). Or...... how about just ordering the doppler and not telling him? Shock Blush

Velvetcu · 08/05/2011 19:01

Hi retro and welcome. I would definately try with a different brand. Sorry that it had echoes of your mc - it's stressful enough anyway without that. fx this is a sticky one for you.

cep I would just order it anyway - what's the worst he can do Shock

Pink I've never heard of a pinard but of course have now consulted Dr Google and am fully informed :) Looks very interesting, when it is arriving?

RetroMaggie · 08/05/2011 19:27

Thanks for responding. Really dislike this limbo land. Hope I sleep through tonight then I won't have to pee in a pot in the middle of the night!

mamapower · 08/05/2011 20:40

velvet I am blardy jealous too! Although I have decided I must be carrying a boy because it's so damn lazy!! I had a wedding to go to yesterday and danced and jumped about like a loon in attempt to stimulate the lazy thing into a kick... but no, nada!!

Pink good glad it's not just me!!

Battery hope you're ok lovely

owl isn't the big move soon?
