Sorry katherine - I know how precious every day is Blush - my error.

Wombat33 · 05/05/2011 10:43

Good luck today scanees!!

harassedinherpants · 05/05/2011 11:19

Well this scanee is home, and can categorically confirm that symptoms can subside/vanish and all be well Grin. Babypants was doing very well, measuring 6+1 which matches my dates exactly, and a tiny heart beating away. I can not tell you the relief..... Grin Grin.

Good luck to everyone else!

wombatinwaiting · 05/05/2011 11:39

Hooooooooooray harassed Grin Grin Grin - wonderful news on babypants - I'm thrilled for you!

Bumpwanted · 05/05/2011 11:42

Hi everyone

Hope you don't mind me stopping by. I've been in the trying to get pregnant after MC room and got a BFP a few days ago. Sadly I think its all going wrong again. Like last time I have had some period pain cramps on and off since ovulation...although this time they weren't as bad but last night I woke up with horrendous pains...actually felt a bit like contractions in that they reached a peaked and subsided and I had this last time when I was about to MC.

Have had no bleeding yet but I think I need to start being realistic that its going to happen again. I just wanted to ask for those who have had period type pains/cramps how bad have they been? Mild or could scream into a pillow they are killing me??

Thanks so much xxx

katherine2008 · 05/05/2011 12:07

bump i have had pains so bad that during my first pregnancy I was tested for (and told that it could only be) an ectopic pregnancy. DD is now 2.8. This time round (I am now 13 weeks) I had quite severe pains, enough to wake me up and have to take paracetemol. Please don't worry - pains with no bleeding is just dandy. For what it's worth, I had no pains with my previous pregnancy which ended in a mmc. So congrats on your BFP and try to relax - it does help with the pain a little.

harrassed woop woop woop.

Wiw - you are so right about every day. The sonographer first added two days and then took one away again. I was very Sad!

dooscooby · 05/05/2011 12:27

harassed fantastic news and a hb too, woo hoo!

Fingers crossed I'll actually get seen tomorrow and more importantly that it will be good news!

bump sorry that you're having pains, although from what's been said already things could be just fine. Have you called epu just to get a once over?

Bumpwanted · 05/05/2011 12:43

Thanks Katherine am keeping my fingers crossed. It's just so hard after last time as I was exactly the same. I just keep thinking if I have a second MC its going to happen every time I get pregnant. Lovely to hear your positive story though.

Doos No I haven't called them as its so early. I am only 4 weeks and about 3 days. I think they'll just say they won't be able to see anything on a scan at this stage and I should wait and see what happens. Not sure they could actually do anything helpful?

Meant to say Harassed so so relieved for you and contrats to Collie too - just wonderful news.

xx

Blackkat · 05/05/2011 12:53

Hello ladies, Grin, Grin great news for Collie, Harassed and Minnie for such lovely scan news, fantastic news.

Fingers crossed for good news for cep today.

Bump so sorry you're having these pains - really hope they calm down for you

Scooby keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow

Izzy frustrated on your behalf that you are having such problems with the antenatal care. Sadly, it does sound like private is the way to go [frustrated, with hands on hips and it's just not right emoticon]
Grin at your doppler braveness...I bet you can find the instructions online?

YRMOTB calmness, who mentioned anything about calm?? I hate going out anywhere, because it makes knicker checking so much more complicated, i.e. public!! Blush

Battery those figures sound fantastic.....Grin

Jiggle Welcome, so sad to hear about your loss. This is a good place to be.
Absolutely understand your reluctance to believe this is happening and can work out ok.

I've finally called the midwife today (cue scolding from her and from Lara). About to take the next plunge.

Wombat33 · 05/05/2011 12:53

Whoop Harassed that's fantasrtic news!

Collie2 · 05/05/2011 12:54

harrassed excellent news on the scan abd seeing a hb!! congratulations, so happy for you. Big sigh of relief and you can relax...For a while at least Smile

battery great news on the hcg levels, hope you get even better ones today.

yrmotb as everyone has already said no calmness on here, in fact very little faking it on my part- although I do a tad better in RL.... But that's by not talking about it.

izzy very brave getting the Doppler, eBay is a good idea. I might investigate!!

wiw fx for your scan next week

I had a mixture of pains early on. They were mainly mild to medium. I did have some stomach crunching cramps twice though, combined with feeling faint. They scared me to death as I thought it was all over, but in the end I think both were wind Blush. I hope it's something equally ok for you. I think katherines words are very reassuring, although I know you'll be worried if it's like last time. How far would you be now? Have you contact epu for an early reassurace scan maybe ...sorry if you've already said on the other thread.

lurking for news from cep anyone know what time her scan is?

Thank you everyone for your well wishes, I'm still so happy! I know that we're still not out if the woods yet, but it was so reassuring seeing the little pup all healthy. I have a question though about the days I gained. I was tracking my ov very closely by checking cm, taking temps and using opks so I know I couldn't have ov'd 5 days earlier, when they say I did. Obv I'm happy bean is growing nicely, but I'm still worried that if my edd is too early then I found be induced/swooped unnecessarily (is that a word?), which I've read some sad stories about. This is my first dc, so am a bit clueless, any advice would be apprecited? mummya I remember you said you were also worried about your dates being out bcs if a previous experience?

Who asked about the nt results bring quick (sorry can't remember) yes scan was private. My results are only based on the scan findings though. I didn't have the bloods. I am due to have the bloods on the nhs at my next apt but the private sonographer yesterday said not to bother...

Lots of xposts. bump you're probably right about being too early for epu, but if your still having pains be t week I'd visit you go. I dud when I was 5+sonething and got booked in for a scan as soon as I could. Fx for you. You could always see if you mw/gp would do you hcg levels like battery ?

glad to hear you've finally rang the mw!

Collie2 · 05/05/2011 13:00

X post again!!!! Yay blackkat that's sooo lovely to see you up there!! Xx

MummyAbroad · 05/05/2011 13:32

oh I've slipped behind massively, but still reading all your news.

Harrassed phew phew phew! - so pleased for you Grin

bump congrats on your BFP - its such a shame that none of us really get to enjoy and celebrate it, instead we just jump straight into the worrying and looking for signs that mc is happening agani! I really hope it is not what you think. I had a lot of cramps, admittedly quite mild ones - but I second the idea that wind can be a big problem and much more painful than it sounds. Dont forget that your intenstines start getting squashed up right from the begining as the uterus starts to expand, so there is less room for food to digest properly, also pregnancy hormones mess up your metabolism rate so all sorts of pains and problems can be going on. Just take it one day at a time, fingers crossed tomorrow is better than today x

Velvet buy the bras! Its all about comfort as far as I am concerned - so what if they dont last long? I struggled on with dodgey bras with DS and am determined not to make the same mistake - comfort comes first this time!

Izzy spotting stopped thankfully. Decided not to get a scan because I've only just had one and I am scared because tomorrow is the week I mc'd last time sorry you didnt manage to get the scans you wanted. I guess you wont know how you feel about paying private until you get closer to the time? I am feeling slightly more confident than I thought I would because this time around I have more good scan info behind me to reassure me bean has been growing well. I know your situation is different because you did see everything was OK at 12 weeks, but I just cant help thinking that what happened to you is so so rare and unusual it couldnt possibly happen again.

collie after a certain point (12 week scan?) they will start to prefer their scan dates over your LMP dates anyway, and there is not a lot you can do to convince them they are wrong (according to them scans dont lie - but you could!) you can always change the date on your notes when no one is looking Whether you get pressure for induction or not depends on so many things, your midwife, the hospital, your health, and of course if you even go over. I DID get lots of pressure and it was really annoying and stressful - but not everyone has the same experience.

cep best of luck today - hope you get tame doctors and fast results!

katherine2008 · 05/05/2011 14:01

MummyA, glad the spotting has stopped. Will be thinking of you tomorrow - and just think how brilliant it will be when Saturday arrives and you can stick two fingers up to Friday! x

LaraMi · 05/05/2011 14:06

Yeyyyyy Blackkat - you're up there! So happy to no longer be at the bottom. Glad you called the mw too.

MummyA - glad spotting has stopped. Very sneaky of you to suggest changing the dates on the notes... didn't think you had it in you!

Bump - the EPU can be hugely reassuring.

As for me I am again in panic mode today. Been getting lots of stretching pains in my lower stomach and am scared it's something untoward. Ladies - have you had similar feelings? It feels like the feeling you get when you've done too many sit-ups (btw - it's been years and years since I did any form of sit-up-type exercise). Also got lots more discharge than normal (sorry, TMI). Nothing offensive, no itching or pain but just a lot more than normal. Anyone else had that too? Am sooooo scared - don't know how I will get through the next two weeks. Eek.

batteryhen · 05/05/2011 14:12

mummya glad the spotting is over and done, especailly as tomorrrow is a bit of a hurdle for you. You are very restrained - with scans being so cheap over there i would be having one every day regularly :)

bump sorry your pains are bad, but no bleeding is good, ( I realise that does not give you comfort with a MMC in the past) but pains sometimes mean your uterus is just moving and stretching to accomodate your bean :)

izzy 20 weeks??- frustrating for you. I was talking to my friend who is a dr and we were saying that sometimes the medical profession lack compassion which is crap. Why can't they just give you an appointment and scan when you need it for gods sake.

Had my bloods today Hcg has gone from 14,778 - 23,381 in 2 days. The lovely lady sounded a bit Shock at the levels but said we will certainly see someting on the scan tomorrow. I feel sick just thinking about it!

batteryhen · 05/05/2011 14:16

lara Icould have wriiten your last paragraph myself. I have period type pains, and if I stretch in bed I feel it in my tummy quite painfully. Also I am driving myself mad running to the loo all the time as I am having lots of Cm, but I keep thinking I am bleeding and running off to check. I will be a crazy lady soon xx

ps I don't like to stretch out too much as I think I am going to ping the baby from my womb like a catapult Blush. The sane part of me realises this probably not going to happen.

harassedinherpants · 05/05/2011 14:38

I'm getting lots of period type pains, and as you all saw my scan was perfect. Actually they're there now!

Bump I've had lots of pains, actually with all my pregs (I have 3 dc's and this is preg no 7). The other night I had really sharp ones and just lay there for hours waiting for the bleeding to start, but it never did. What's your epu like?? It might be worth phoning them and seeing what they say. That's what I did yesterday, spoke to the ward sister and she couldn't have been more lovely. Booked me in for a scan today, and said she'd put down I'd been referred by gp! Def worth a ring imo.

Battery I don't like to be stretched out either, it just doesnt feel right. I've been sleeping with a pillow under my knees so I'm always bent up.

Blackkat · 05/05/2011 14:41

lara i'm getting those pains too, am damp, sorry tmi, with cm and really nauseous, think it must be hormones? battery what brilliant results, twins?! Fx for tomorrow. Lol at your catapulting thoughts. mummya so pleased spotting has stopped.

Wombat33 · 05/05/2011 14:49

Battery those are great numbers! I had quite high HCG levels too when I had bloods done early on. Didn't mean twins for me but did mean bean was coming along nicely! Good luck for tomorrow. With bloods like those I think you can allow yourself to feel a bit positive - along with the compulsory mentalling of course! Grin

aMuminwaiting · 05/05/2011 14:52

Finally got the date for my 6 week scan! Next Wednesday, when I'll be six weeks 6 days...couldn't get it much closer could they?! According to my midwife's calculations though I'll be 8 weeks 2 days I think which doesn't fill me with confidence in 'being given extra care and monitoring' this time. Oh well as long as this little one stays strong and sticks fast in there I don't care.

aMuminwaiting · 05/05/2011 14:53

Has anyone else been watching misbehaving mums to be? I don't know why I did it to myself. I knew I'd end up screaming at the tv!

jigglebum · 05/05/2011 14:57

Afternoon everyone - funny I could have described the last few posts symptoms too today. More cm, abdominal pains and really tired today. I saw the MW on tuesday and asked about the pains and she said it was quite common, particularly around the time of your normal period, which for me would be about now, so could also be the same for a couple of you I think.

I am nine weeks ish today and it is getting to the stage where I think it is becoming a bit obvious already! already seem to have enormous breasts and a podgy tum. Still want to hold out till the scan to tell people but not sure I can much longer! so tired at the moment too, but waking early, which is annoying.

Those of you with other children - when do you think you will tell them.? My DS is nearly 3 , so won't say anything yet to him but he is very keen on babies, so that is hopefully a good sign.

I could perhaps be brave and join the list - so if anyone is updating it
