okeydokey, my period was due on friday, sure enough it showed up friday morning. it was all average etc, but without any period pains. carried on bleeding saturday until about 6pm. then it stopped. nothing yesterday. nothing today. Ive had none of the normal stuff that goes with my period (headaches, backache, cramps, moodswings) and Im a bit worried. I dont feel pg and refuse to get my hopes up, but this is a bit weird tbh.

dh is great, my regular cons is an nhs one and doesnt hold with the "immunology" side of testing (and is a twonk) I did see a private cons, but couldnt afford all of the tests.

its frustrating, I know whats wrong. but he wont listen.

OP posts:
Ruggettee · 12/04/2011 10:59

He is a twonk! Love that! How can he not hold with the immunology stuff? What reason can he give for the repeat mc's? Twonky twat.

Where are you based? Oh, and how old?

Another clomid question if I may......my cycles have all been 33 days on the nose with clomid. Do you think I would be ovulating later than day 14, or would it be a long luteal phase? I know you wouldn't really know, but just pondering here..... :)

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 12/04/2011 11:15

he seems to think that the best thing they can do is throw blood thinners at me when I get to 6w. but I rarely get to 6w. I get to 5w4d (when heartbeat starts) fall ill, high temp, vomitting, shivers then I mc and Im all better. but its not an immunology issue is it? oh nooooo... and he gets paid an effing fortune. ive had loads of blood tests but nothing shows up, am now hoping that when we go in may he will try clomid again and i can persuade him that Im right, he's wrong!

it does sound like its lengthened your LP, clomid can thin the endo layer, so thats a good thing, kind of bringing your body back into balance. were you oving?

sorry, am in shropshire, 33. i had a nasty uterine infection after ds was born that went unchecked for nearly 2w, so pretty sure that ties in somewhere.

OP posts:
Ruggettee · 12/04/2011 11:22

The first cycle I had follicle tracking and it showed one good un and a good thickness. The 21 day test said 31 levels and cons thought i'd have ov'd n CD13. But why on earth AF took 20 days to turn up beats me! Will be shagging right through from day 10 to 20 to cover all bases I reckon!

I have heard that you can take your NHS tests with you to a private consultant. There are fab ones in London, so I have heard, but thats' a bit far from you....

It sounds suspicious with the uterine infection TBH...

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 12/04/2011 11:47

tbh, its not the blood tests etc I needed it was the chicago and NK cell testing. neither of which twonkytwonkerson will do.

clomid does mess you around a bit though, but a longer LP is a good sign!

OP posts:
chocolatecoveredlissielou · 12/04/2011 11:52

oh, and period still hasnt restarted. tesco for me tomorrow i think!

OP posts:
Ruggettee · 12/04/2011 11:55

That would make me so mad. I don't know how you've managed to keep so together about it all - although I can hear the black humour coming through. Have you thrown a right strop and hissy fit/crying fit and begged?

Any more signs of AF? Bought those tests yet? :)

Thanks for the encouragement about LP. I tend to get a bit down about it all, but compared to many here it's not been that long or as traumatic.

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 12/04/2011 12:08

he suggested to us after our (i think it was 6th) mc that we go on holiday and try to relax. dh said I was terrifying. kind of leant forward and said (in the voice I reserve for when ds picks his bum and licks his finger) "we have been ttc for 3(at that point) years, had 6 miscarriages and I nearly died from an ectopic pregnancy, then because you lot displaced my bladder when you delivered my son, you sliced it open removing my baby. every doctor from here to liverpool can find his way out of my uterus with his eyes closed, and youve taken enough blood to satisfy a pack of vampire. we have had 3 holidays and 4 "relaxing" breaks at the seaside and I dont have a baby. where do you suggest we go? is there anywhere that pumps fertility drugs into the water? and are you going to pay for it, after all, you aint earning your money here are you?"

poor sap bloke nearly pooed himself.

next attack will be all the info I have gathered on chicago testing and NK cells, along with the research done by a specialist in the US on the effects of uterine GBS (what i had) on future pg's.

and he looks like a pig
and not one of those cute teacup pigs, oh no... one of those big boars!

no prob re the info, they dont tell you that much about clomid. will you have another round of cycles after this one if the next doesnt work?

OP posts:
Ruggettee · 12/04/2011 12:22

That sounds amazing!! Well done you!! But if that was after mc 6, it's definitely time for another one! Have all your facts ready. Although they like to think they know best, if you're insistent and well-read then they will take notice. Make yourself really difficult without being too over emotional. When are you seeing him next?

We're due to see our FC again in June. Round 5 of clomid now and will probably manage another before we see him. Have prescription for another 3 I think (unless I keep doubling my own dose! Blush ). Then I'm expecting him to prepare us for IVF/ICSI.

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 12/04/2011 12:27

we see him in the middle of may. he is awful. not as bad as his predecessor who insisted on giving me a rough internal while I was mcing, but pretty bad.

do you have any dc's? which clinic are you with?

OP posts:
Ruggettee · 12/04/2011 12:35

Wowsers.....official complaint? Go into debt? Beg borrow or steal to go private?

No DC yet.....am 30 this year. In Kent, seeing the local NHS chap. But I think he does the private stuff locally as well. If it all went Pete Tong for us, I think we'd get ourselves up to London for a private clinic like ARGC (can't remember the acronym!)

OnEdge · 12/04/2011 12:37

sorry, not enough time to read all through, but I gad this with every one of my 3 pregnancies. I was TTC and I would think CRAP = PERIOD but then it suddenly stopped, did a test and oregnant Good luck

LizaTarbucksAuntie · 12/04/2011 12:38

Lissielou, just saying a little prayer for you that this all works ok this time.

Ruggettee · 12/04/2011 12:39

OnEdge - how long and how heavy did you bleed for each time?

galwaygal · 12/04/2011 13:20

Lissie - can I come and bollock out your twonky consultant next time, please! As an aside, sorry to hear your body is messing with your head at the moment.... arggg not fun.

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 12/04/2011 14:23

there are loads of good cons's around you, and london not far either. we did make a complaint but it came to nothing. so now I try not to antagonise him but prove Im no pushover. the day I went in with my charts was a good one. he was insisting that all women have a 14d LP. dont know where he graduated, but he obv spent too much time in the pub!

onedge, how heavily did you bleed?

lizatarbuck and galwaygal thank you. still no morer bleeding. shall do a live poas tomorrow, but without any excitment or expectation Grin

OP posts:
chocolatecoveredlissielou · 13/04/2011 15:08

bfp.

fuck.

off to see nurse to have yet more blood taken

OP posts:
chocolatecoveredlissielou · 13/04/2011 15:18

and true to form, as soon as the line appeared I felt sick. dh just looked and exclaimed "thats a positive pregnancy test"

OP posts:
OnEdge · 13/04/2011 15:20

Ruggette It would start like a period, not very heavy, but more than spotting, would last about 1 - 1 1/2 days then stop suddenly. My periods usually last about 5 days and slowly fade away.

Actually, my first 3 pregnancies I MC,and because of this bleeding went for a scan that would show the pregnancy was not developing, then I would have ERPCs. Then I had 2 healthy pregnancies - with the same bleeding, then a MC again and then a 3rd healthy pregnancy. Looking back, I think the bleeding was normal and healthy and not related to the MCs. It just prompted the investigations. Does that make sense ? Probably implantation bleeding, was about the time my periods would have been due.

Malvapoeding · 13/04/2011 15:27

Lissie - I have every possible appendage crossed for you and am throwing any remaining sticky stuff at you. Have they tried steriods yet? I as given 8 days of 20mg prednisilone the day I got my BFP with DD1 after many m/c and she stuck.

(ps. am namechanger again :) but we have 'spoken' previously )

LittleSquirt · 13/04/2011 16:15

Oh Lissie, so happy for you!! I know you are terrified but wishing a long and healthy pregnancy this time. Big hugs.

orangehead · 13/04/2011 17:24

oh Lissie fx, wishing all is well this time.

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 13/04/2011 17:42

thank you all, just had it confirmed by the nurse. it is a faint line, but there. she has made an appt for me to see the gp on friday. i need to take another sample with me to ensure that its not the end of a pg. then i will have a scan in a week. burst into tears in the surgery, i am shiteing myself. i feel sick and am expecting bad news tbh, dh seems v detached. but at least at this moment i am pregnant, which is something. im so scared. bleeding before a bfp is weird. what if my body is screwing with me.

Bexamundo · 13/04/2011 17:43
