Newly pregnant after miscarriage? Here is a nice place to hang out and swap symptoms and worries until you are brave enough to sign up to the grads thread.

Ps. LMAO at brian stories. I served my friends up an empty jug for pudding today. I had neglected to actually put any custard inside........ Grin

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 09:09

Brians been here too.. found the marmite in the dishwasher....!

Cannot wait for a rummage in the loft....for all the baby stuff...!! Sis is going to bring back all DS's clothes and baby gros (so far they have clothed all the boys in our family!!) and as soon as we know for sure what DH is going to be doing ie - renting a flat darn sarf then i will know what excess furniture is going and try to get organised here - over easter - hoorah :)

Still have yet to 'glow' but i think the nesting instinct might finally be kicking in :)

IreneHeron · 28/03/2011 09:47

Nickster, 'glow'! What's that? I always look really pallid when I'm pregnant, and get spots. It really isn't a good look.

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 10:14

Yup; I just look blooming knackered. And I have face-eczema. And spots. Mmmm, foxy.

Nice to hear I am not the only one losing the plot though Grin

Good luck to all those awaiting scans and BFPs instead of TWPs this week x

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 11:02

Me also... spots! i have about 4 huge red ones on my face oh and really greasy hair Grin

And i must be carrying differently this time as my arse and my thighs are now much more sizeable than before Grin and they werent small before :)

Emoo · 28/03/2011 11:07

Morning everyone, and I hope lovely weekends were had by all!
Here commences another week of mentalling.... not quite sure how I'm going to get through to my scan on Weds, let alone the wait for the bloods after that. I have now become once again utterly symptomless, except for excessive greed hunger and a podgy tum.

Silverangel - nice to see you here again, and congrats on the twins!

Izzy - I hope you had a wonderful birthday. I love guinea pigs too! Don't have any though... we are unsure where we would keep them, as it seems a bit cruel to keep them in the garden all winter, we don't have a garage, and DH doesn't want them inside.

Dachs - envious of your scan, but very glad it went well. Very bizarre about the doublediffed manager too! I can feel some shopping coming on later this week if all is well. Mainly for new big-enough trousers for work!

Teacake - feeling any less fragile yet? Sorry, no idea how to stop the MC dreams. Mine were eventually replace by other anxiety dreams, e.g. last night dreamed both DD's front teeth (2nd teeth) fell out overnight into her bed, and I was chasing around for an emergency dentist who eventually just said get her to lick them clean and poke them back in! (I'm sure that's not dentally accurate...)

Collie - glad you found the service calming - hope you're doing okay now and enjoyed the lovely Lakes.

MamaP - have you surfaced yet? How did things go?

Nix - hip hip hoorayy for your triple good news!

Velvet - hope you are feeling better soon.

MummyA - loved the link - made me chuckle!

Knitter - glad you are doing well - countdown to the scan getting a bit closer now.

Orange - grrrr to your mum... and thank goodness for an understanding MIL. Spill the beans - who dared put a hand on your tum?

nina - good luck for your scan today.

Kat congratulations and welcome!! Here's hoping your little faint line gets darker nice and quickly!

Mattsmama - hope you are managing to stay calm... will have fingers firmly crossed for you also on Wednesday.

Hils - I think your MW will only book you a routine dating scan at 12ish weeks. If you are hoping for a dating scan asap, it depends on your area. Some places seem to do "reassurance" scans before the official dating scan if you ask your GP nicely, some only do earlier scans if you have symptoms like bleeding or pain.

Owl - glad it's not just me eating for Britain! My MW told me to "listen to my body!". My body says eat... but maybe I should show some restraint, as I don't want even more extra lbs to shift at the end of all this....

Velvetcu · 28/03/2011 11:08

mememe alert! Sorry in advance.

So I was meant to be having a scan today but I had to change the date since I couldnt get out of work without telling them. EPAC just called to say I can't have the new appt they gave me tomorrow and there are no more all week.

On top of that, I have the worst 'flu I have had for years, now onto my 3rd day in bed. I havent even had a bath coz I ache so much. Is it possible that be being this ill can affect the bean? I'm doing a bit of mentalling because of it :( If I go to A&E do I get a scan there or do they refer me to EPAC?

DH was laughing at me yesterday coz I spent a good 20min sobbing my heart out. He said it's just flu so get over it, he had it last week, but I had to remind him it's flu AND I'm pg so already didnt feel great!! He is also getting on my nerves because Brian has moved in here too so I keep getting told off for things I have forgotten.

Rant over. Sorry again.

Emoo · 28/03/2011 11:20

((((((((velvet))))))))) sounds rotten, you poor thing. Rubbish about the lack of scannage (although sounds like you might not be fit to leave the house tomorrow anyway??) - what appointment did they offer you in the end?

I'd try not to worry about the bean - they do get by when people are ill, and it is all out of your control. It might be worth making sure you take paracetamol regularly to keep your temp down though? It'll make you feel better, if nothing else.

Not sure what your A&E is like, but round here, they just refer to EPAU, and would only scan faster if possible ectopic.

Slap with a haddock for your DH. They are bloody useless sometimes. Didn't we lock him in the shed a while back? Might have to do it again. My DH has been making sarcastic comments about significance of blackbirds on the lawn (as I have been going mental at the number of lone magpies I've seen recently..).

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 11:31

Aw, velvet , lovely, beeeeeg hug for you. Try to stop mentalling. Concentrate on getting well again. It doesn't sound like you're well enough to go anywhere right now let alone for a scan. Have you rung your GP to ask them if there is anything else you should be doing? Your bean is extremely well protected and will not have even noticed how shite you are feeling.

And in the meantime I'm gonna lock your DH in the garden shed again Grin

Talking of haddock; I am really into my fish right now. Those packets of mackerel mashed up with yoghurt and lemon juice on a big heap of brown bread thickly spread with proper butter. Yesterday I had smoked salmon as the DOH website said it was okay - it was lush. And today I have tuna and beans in yoghurt. I am hoping all this feesh will stop Brian visiting me quite so regularly. Although I do need to check which ones I am not supposed to eat more than a certain amount of.

Small list alteration; just wanted to add in the two people who weren't on the list so got missed off, but who unfortunately we're having to reserve beanbags for.

Quickie-owl where do you get these fishy packets from???? They sound amazing....

Emoo · 28/03/2011 11:59

cat food pouches? Grin

PinkFondantFancy · 28/03/2011 12:05

Grin now that really would be a dodgy Brian moment......

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 12:14

Mmmm, kitty food. No, those make me boak - I am talking about these things. I got them in Sainsbrees in the fish section. They freeze well.

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 12:15

Should have made it clear; I have to add my own yoghurt and lemon juice. If only someone made it ready made but then I wouldn't dare eat it as it would probably be called 'pate'.

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 12:16
DoubleDiffedDachs · 28/03/2011 12:31

Waitrose also do a nice hot smoked trout which is nice mashed up with creme fraiche, a little bit of horseradish or mustard and some lemon juice. Yum :)

PinkFondantFancy · 28/03/2011 12:35

Oooooh that sounds fab. Would be even better with some Creme fraiche and horseradish mmmmm NEED SOME NOW!!!

PinkFondantFancy · 28/03/2011 12:36

dacha that is just spooky!!! Grin are you in my head???

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 12:46

((Velvet)) what the GP said to me was to make sure you take paracetamol to keep your temperature down. I was told that its the fever that can cause damage. (have been told this by several sources)

I had a really bad flu at 7 weeks diffed and i was told by the doctor not to forget the immune system shuts down when you are pregnant so you are more susceptible to bugs.

If you can have a nice warm bath, but be conscious of having it too hot if you are feverish... i ended up in a hot shower as i just couldnt regulate my own temperature at all for 3 days.

Hope you feel better soonx xx

Velvetcu · 28/03/2011 12:48

Envy I'm using this as a puke face, I hate fish at the best of times!

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 12:51

Owls, its tuna you need to restrict but the other smaller feeeeshes are fine and dandy :) mmm might have to adopt your feesh procedure :)

HAve by the way just discovered ALDI! Holy shit how cheap is tinned foodstuffs!?!? half the price of tesco i would wager...

Ooh you have got me all fishy... off for my mackeral and tomato sauce with salad now....Grin

Oh by the way.... DH felt the bambino kicking on friday night WHOOPEE!!
and i have also noticed for those wondering about movement... if i am the slightest bit contipulated or full of pumpies then i cant feel anything!!! Blush

owlbooty · 28/03/2011 12:56

Right; trout's next on my feesh hit list.

Velvet you wait; at about 9 weeks I almost barfed on the fish counter in the market; now I can't stop eating the stuff.

Aldi is top, Nix , specially for cheap things like bottled artichokes in oil and pasta. Am v.jealous of your kicking action; Mr Boots hasn't felt anything yet. It will come, though, I'm sure. Am feeling kicking every day now. Tis lovely :)

PinkFondantFancy · 28/03/2011 13:55

Hugs for emoo and velvet. Hope today and tomorrow go quickly for you emoo. velvet you poor thing. I agree with the others-drink lots of fluids, try and get your fever down and get as much sleep as you can.

Still Envy of kickers!! Grin sosososososoooooooo want to get to that stage!
