Woohoo tunnocks fab news

katherine2008 · 10/04/2011 14:03

Amazing news Tunnocks - watch out 2012 Olympics, jnr teacake is here!

MummyAbroad · 10/04/2011 14:09

great news teacake !! so pleased bean is OK and your cramps and spotting mean nothing.

Lovely to see your news too Katherine Smile

talking of cramps collie I think ALL of us had cramps at 6/7/8 weeks. Dr Google told me it its your uterus growing, so nothing to be worried about at all, just a genuine symptom!

nina I would take matters into your own hands and get it bought forward. NHS has probably overlooked the dates thing.

Mattsmama seeing heartbeat at 9/10 weeks dramatically reduces the mc statistics - I think its 98% (?) likely to go to term at that stage, so yes it is the most "important" one for all of us. NHS do the scans at 12 rather than 10 weeks because this is the best time to do dating and look at nuchal measurements.

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday, may your roast dinners be piping hot and your barbeques smoke free Grin

Tunnocks Lovely news and it sounds like it was a lovely scan. Fab!

Mummyabroad thanks - didn't know that 98% is high. Me thinks I shall be very nervous on Wednesday - but elated if I have a good scan knowing that information.

Yay for miniteacake - behaving for once! Grin

IreneHeron · 10/04/2011 18:47

Hi everyone, feeling a bit poorly today so I'm not going to namecheck. My throat is killing me, I'm dreading what symptoms will arrive in the morning. Annoying because I'm supposed to be taking DS to London on Tuesday to go to a memorial service. Don't know if I can face the train with him from Scotland.

I've been putting on a brave face all day, having to go to soft play for my neice's 4th birthday and chit chat with DH's family. Got home and am supposed to be having a take away with next door but I had to bow out and sit under a blanket. DH is there with DS so at least I can have a break.

On a positive note, only 8 days now until my first scan. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it. If bean is ok, I can go out and buy some bras that fit and maybe some new clothes. Am beginning to get a bit of a tum now.

Hopefully I'll catch up tomorrow properly.

tiggersreturn · 10/04/2011 21:33

Thanks - no comas in the night but I woke up with a really bad high blood sugar so bad that I couldn't move for 2 hours which isn't normal cue much worrying that I'd killed both babies etc. It got better over the course of the day and then dipped twice quite dramatically so I've felt pretty crap for most of the day. I hope the worry gets better soon. I have another hospital appointment just after easter monday so maybe I can raise some of my fears then.

OrangeGloss · 11/04/2011 07:09

Knitter thinking of you today x

Tigger I'm the same about 20 week scan, sorry I haven't any suggestions to help I think it's part of the required mentalling. Hopefully you can get some reassurance with blood sugar

katherine2008 · 11/04/2011 08:02

Knitter good luck today xxx

kat2504 · 11/04/2011 08:21

Morning all! Am still mentalling over my boobs. Surely they should be doing more? I read all about the nips getting darker but have none of that and no ms whatsoever. Apart from the tests I am barely convinced of being pregnant.

May the next six weeks please pass quickly!

knitter thinking of you again today hoping you will get good news soon.

banana87 · 11/04/2011 08:45

Thinking of you today Knitter.

Am thinking about a private scan today or tomorrow...

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 08:48

Good luck today Knitter...

Ladies - I reached my "first step" on Saturday... After much convincing, DH agreed we could proceed with an early scan... We ended up going to St Georges early on Sat AM (I was petrified). Anyways - they did a scan and I saw my tiny bean's heartbeat! It was so reassuring to see that it wasn't a blighted ovum... However, I am extremely early so there is obviously scope for anything to go wrong - sonographer estimates me at 6+3 with an EDD of 2nd December. I will therefore take the next big step of adding myself to the list, so:-

Nickster 23+0 EDD 7/8/11
Orange 19+0 EDD 4/9/11 next scan 20/4/11
Wombat33 18+1 EDD 10/09/11 next scan 27/4/11

Well done for biting the bullet LaraMi and good news on the heartbeat.

Thinking of you lots today knitter and fingers very tightly crossed.

kat - do remember that every woman and every pregnancy is different. And if you want some reassurance for lack of symptoms, I believe that dachs even while carrying twins has had almost no symptoms. Are you booked in for a reassurance scan at any point to help with the mentalling?

Look after yourself tigger and remember that the beans will be taking all the goodness, leaving you feeling worse for wear.... sending hugs.

Hoping everyone else is doing ok and have as many or as few symptoms as will reassure them Smile

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 09:22

Lovelies - so that I have something else to obsess about over the next 5.5 weeks, does anyone have a stat for the chances of MC after a heartbeat is seen at 6 weeks? (!!!!!)

cep · 11/04/2011 09:43

morning all. knitter fx for today.

Collie2 · 11/04/2011 09:59

Yay for tunnocks that?s fab news! I hope you enjoyed a stress free day yesterday.

And YAY for lara too. Glad dh finally agreed and that scan was fine. I only measured 6+1 at my scan last week, but it was just reassuring knowing that there was something in there and it was all in the right place. lara the miscarriage association says the risk of mc after seeing a heartbeat at 6 weeks is 78% - thought it would be lower tbh see here

Thinking of knitter today, hope you get good news.

Grin matts I bought a pack of 5 white pants from Tesco (classy) last week too. They are much more comfy and help with the obsessive knicker checking too!! Smile

ninu I am not sure about the sickle cell test, I would ring your mw and ask.

Irene sorry you feel your coming down with something, hope you?re not to bad today.

Kat how far gone are you? I?m 7+3 (ish). My boobs (well just one) swelled early on but I had nothing else until I was 6+ My boobs got sore about mid-week last week and the ms kicked in then too. If you are earlier it could just be too soon, but as wiw said dachs has been symptom free with 2 beans in there!

banana good luck with a scan if you decided to take the plunge.

cep how are you feeling today sweet? Glad the stats reassured you a little.

Hope everyone else is ok and enjoyed the beautiful weekend we had

I managed to escape ms yesterday, but feeling rotten again. Working from home again today, but then have busy week at work to follow, which not looking forward to. Still quietly mentalling. Thought the period pains might have been bcs I would be due, but that?s not till next week so they are still freaking me out.

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 10:02

Collie - you misread it! The chances of the pg continuing are 78% after seeing a heartbeat.. my heart nearly stopped hahaha!

DoubleDiffedDachs · 11/04/2011 10:25

knitter thinking of you - FX you get news soon and that it is good

kat as people have said - I have had no symptoms at all. None whatsoever. Freaked out that I had no ms, boobs not really sore at all and haven't got any bigger. Bit flabby now but not significantly and I am utterly convinced I can't be pregnant. Except I am, and the two little wrigglers are now nearly 15 weeks. The only symptoms I have are being tired and a stuffed up nose. Oh, and today I had a nosebleed on the train. Is that a symptom?

tigger thinking of you. Hope the suger settles down soon. Any chance you can get them to accelerate your appointment?

owlbooty · 11/04/2011 10:29

Ace news Tunnocks :)

Tigger sounds like you're going through the mill somewhat at the moment with the blood sugar hiccups on top of the 20 week scan stress. All I can recommend is sneaky doppler fixes if your MW will indulge you. Sooner or later you may also feel the minitiggers booting you which will help too - it's only those two things that kept me from wibbling during the horrible gap between 16 and 20 weeks.

Weirdly I was not concerned with anomalies at the 20 week scan as I'd seen the little dude so clearly on the 12 week on. I was more concerned that he just wouldn't be alive any more. As it turned out, he was bloody breakdancing in there :)

Collie2 · 11/04/2011 10:36

LOL at myself lara that is what i meant..... sorry for nearly giving you a heart attack Blush i thought it would be lower that 22% chance of mc though - better than 78% i suppose Grin FX for us both xxx

LaraMi · 11/04/2011 10:51

Dachs - you have no idea how much hope you're giving all of us with your lack of symptoms... Hope your nosebleed wasn't horrible to deal with...

Collie - definite fingers crossed for us both... You're only six days ahead of me but it feels like you're sooooo much further advanced!
