Good luck today to cep and knitter

velvet hope you're feeling better this morning?

DoubleDiffedDachs · 05/04/2011 08:25

I just slipped down 8 large concrete stairs. I've broken my coccyx. I'm terrified.

wellieboots · 05/04/2011 08:37

[delurks] ((((dachs)))) you poor love, get thee to a doctor or midwife or whoever you can contact easiest, it is probably absolutely fine but best to get checked out, lots of love to you and let us know how you get on.

[goes back to lurking]

PinkFondantFancy · 05/04/2011 08:46

Good luck to cep too - sorry I missed you off!

dachs HUGE hugs - hassle someone to get a scan to get some reassurance. Can your clinic fit you in for a quick scan today if you give them a call? Fingers crossed the pups are fine in their squishy fluid sacks though. Ooooow you poor thing - is there anything they can do about a broken coccyx? xx

DoubleDiffedDachs · 05/04/2011 08:49

Waiting for doc to call me back. He said he'd fit me in for a scan this morning, but that it was probably ok. Nothing you can do for a broken coccyx except not sit on it too much! It hurts! And my bum is wet where I fell over. Not a happy bunny today. Having a few cramps around the front now as well so am very very very worried.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/04/2011 08:52

Ouch dachs hope you're ok - have you been to a&e? Get someone to give you a scan just to make sure but beans are well-cushioned - my friend crashed into a bus while pg and even had some contractions after but things were fine and she went full-term with no problems. Fx you can get some reassurance asap today x

Good luck to all scanees today x

velvet and tunnocks how are you doing today?

DoubleDiffedDachs · 05/04/2011 09:08

sorry for the me me me posts. Wanted to also say good luck to the scanees and FX for the worriers

PinkFondantFancy · 05/04/2011 09:13

dachs I'm assuming you're not still at work right??? Or if you are, it's only because you want to stay in London to get seen at the clinic, right??????? You are going to go home and rest up afterwards??????

Do you have to get one of those donut cushions to sit on so you don't put any pressure on it?

DoubleDiffedDachs · 05/04/2011 09:18

pink I'm still at work and waiting for the doc to call me to tell me what time he can see me. I would be hoping the doc tells me to go home and rest. I would like one of those cushions to sit on because it's really not comfy at the moment, but I'm not going to ask work if they have one until I've been to the doc so I am currently just sitting here (uncomfortably) chewing my fingers off waiting for the phone to ring and trying not to cry (which I know makes me sound a bit pathetic but I'm feeling quite pathetic right now).

IreneHeron · 05/04/2011 09:24

Dachs you poor thing. You've every right to feel pathetic, you've had a shock and ow, those work chairs are uncomfortable when pg even without a broken coccyx. I'd want to be wrapped up in a feather duvet. You're not going to have to go home on the tube are you? Hope you can get home before rush hour or get a cab! Hope everything turns out ok!

PinkFondantFancy · 05/04/2011 09:26

dachs you poor thing :( As soon as you've been seen by the doctor, send yourself home to rest, you must be feeling really shaken up which is why you want to cry all the time. Ps. it's not pathetic - I cried and snotted all over my boss last week for absolutely no reason at all last week, it was quite embarrassing....... Fingers crossed they call you back v. soon. Can you take yourself out of the office to go for a coffee or something for a bit - some fresh air might help with the trying not to cry thing?

owlbooty · 05/04/2011 09:56

Bloody hell it's all go in here.

Dachs love do not fret - remember the little one are VERY well cushioned Tis you that requires the TLC and medical attention here - can you lie down somewhere? For god's sake don't stay in work once you've seen the doc, you really do need to go home and recover. x

Velvet and Tunnocks hope you are both okay today.

cep and Knitter hope the scans go well, fingers crossed for you both.

Blackkat what the bloody hell do your rellies think they are playing at? That is serious misconduct and would definitely land them in front of a disciplinary. Tis difficult cos if you contact them about it then clearly they will know you have some juicy gossip and will probably immediately check your records to find out what it is. Depends how close you are to them, I guess. If you want to remain on friendly terms, I would think your best option is to write to them and be honest - yes, you are pregnant again BUT you are asking them not to check yours or your Dad's medical records or discuss this with anyone because the last time they did this it was extremely distressing for your poor Mum and you and frankly you have enough stress right now without worrying about this too.

Orange Mmm, prunes. But yes, not a whole tin. Dear oh dear.

wombatinwaiting · 05/04/2011 10:35

Oh Dachs you poor, poor thing - that must be so painful. Hope you get to the docs quickly. You're right - sitting is the worst as that is when we put the most pressure on our lower backs so standing is better, or even squatting if you have stong glutes and hamstrings..... thinking of you x

Wombat33 · 05/04/2011 10:51

Oh lord - there's a lot going on in here at the moment.

HUGE hugs to all those who need them.

Dachs hope the doc calls you back soon. I'm sure the pups will be fine but take it easy for yourself.

Velvet, tunnocks how is the goo this morning?

Blackcat I'm speechless at your aunt's behaviour. I'm also thinking the private scan and then booking-in might be the way forwards.

Mummya yey for the chocolate cake consumption!

Good luck to all scanees this morning!!!

mattsmama · 05/04/2011 11:00

Velvet and Tunnocks Hope you are both okay and sorry your so stressed at the moment. Both of you get yourself scanned - it is the only way you'll put your minds at rest.

Cep and Knitter Good luck with the scans! Delihah Did you have your scan yesterday? Hope it went well.

Dachs OUCH! Very painful - I know! I was unfortunate enough to do the same thing some years ago. Little beans are very well protected in there but a scan will put your mind at ease. It is you that needs some TLC. You really want to get yourself home as soon as you can and rest. Hope it gets better VERY soon for you.

Hello to everyone else!

KnitterNotTwitter · 05/04/2011 11:16

Dachs sorry to hear about your coxyx.. sounds v.painful. A good friend of my sisters tripped up a curb breaking her leg and landing on her belly when 34 weeks pg... Bean was fine although she said it was v. awkward giving birth in a full let plastercast... Hope that is a useful story... Beans are designed to be very well protected in there - I'm sure it'll all be ok but will have my FX just to make sure

tunnocks and velvet FX for you too - I wish we could all have the simplest and smoothest pregnancies....

My scan isn't until 3.30 this afternoon so for the moment I'll distract myself by doing the stats and looking out for cep's scan results... might even do some work too!

double explain to your doctor that you feel a bit stressed with it all and how painful it is. I'm sure he'll tell you to stay at home and rest for the rest of the week, not just for tomorrow Smile

dach ooh you poor thing. hope dr signs you off for a little while.

knitter fx for your scan later.

mine went well, they changed my dates back to the 9+3 which is what i should be. Saw the hb. am braving putting myself on the list, still scared but i've passed the last date, even if i didn't find out last time till 11 weeks it'd died at 7 so am breathing a little easier.

Can i just ask those with other children, have you told them yet? and if so at what stage and how old are they?

So glad to read that you are feeling better today tunnocks and a v sensible decision to work from home and also on booking in for the private scan.

katherine2008 · 05/04/2011 14:43

Great stuff cep hurrah! sending hugs to tunnocks, Dachs and velvet and looking forward to news from knitter.

Mummya glad you are starting to feel better - gives me hope. I am quite often fine til I even think of food and then my stomach turns. I am living on bread at the moment. very boring!
