Newly pregnant after miscarriage? Here is a nice place to hang out and swap symptoms and worries until you are brave enough to sign up to the grads thread.

Here is a link to the old thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1165866-Freak-out-room-for-those-newly-updiffed-after-MC-to-hold-hands-and-support-each-other-Part-III/AllOnOnePage#24507574

banana i think it's normal, something to do with producing the extra blood needed for baby.

IreneHeron · 01/04/2011 18:25

No, thirsty means you're pregnant. You need to drink loads when you're pregnant. I'm always thirsty but I seem to throw it up. Little sips throughout the day is the way forward.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/04/2011 18:38

banana thirst is a definite sign of pg!! And you have nausea - seems you are starting to collect a few symptoms?!

daisy fx the dog works out ok, I can't believe how expensive they can be Shock

tigger I've found it: Time off for dependants. I think that's the one I was thinking of. Will stop droning on about it now, it was just really bugging me that I couldn't quite remember it all! You're right though, my employer, despite being an arse at times, is pretty flexible when it comes to childcare so I never had too many issues Smile

Irene the ms sounds pretty bad Sad are you managing ok?

Velvetcu · 01/04/2011 19:44

ladies you have talked soooo much today that I finished my iced bun 2 pages ago and now need to open my after 8s to help me remember some of what was said!!

banana i think thirsty is normal - you have to make more blood as well as amniotic fluid so you have to get it from somewhere! If it's a sign of mc I'm screwed!

daisy wow expensive dogs, sounds like you have found a bargain tho, fx it works out

sorry your ms isnt any better mummya it must be awful!

mamap make sure you are taking care of youreself lady, sounds like you are doing far too much! Am looking forward to coming for a visit tho :)

hi Izz tigger dachs tunnocks owl and everyone else Brian wont let me remember! I hope you all have good Friday evenings Grin

cep · 01/04/2011 20:23

oooh after 8's.

can i ask a quick question about the grads page i've had a couple of looks (trying to think positive), but what is the waiting list for? is it only a certain amount of ladies on the list and as one gives birth another one goes on? or is it waiting until 12 weeks? how does it work?

owlbooty · 01/04/2011 20:32

The waiting list was for those who were too nervous to join the list itself (this was before the Freak Out room thread was started) :)

cep · 01/04/2011 20:33

ah thank you owl i thought that was a bit strict to make them wait till someone had given birth. Grin

Blackkat · 01/04/2011 20:34

Hello everyone

Ninu, Irene, Mummya sorry to hear that the ms is really bad, I'm eating as much as I can now while I can keep food down. (that's what I keep telling myself, any excuse Grin)

Cep really hope that your feeling is nothing of the sort and just natural fear after the last m/c

izz envying the ripple, there's a Wispa in the kitchen shouting out at me, don't know how long I will hold out. Smile

daisy hope the trials on the fell go well tomorrow and you get the new dog

mumtum if you're lurking here too, thinking of you ((hugs))

tunnocks so pleased miniteacake was ok on the scan - sounds like the sonographer was a total moron

to velvet, collie, pink, katherine, Dachs, tigger, niks, owl, lara and everyone else who I've doubtless missed, sorry! Blaming Brian

Couple of questions if I may; so I'm thirsty, tired, hot, farty, fainty, lightheaded, hungry, knackered, booby, have stretchy pains, CM overload and gallons of pee, I'm assuming these are all good symptoms? Tho none of the prissy books mention the farty nature of being updiffed, and I don't remember feeling this tired, this hot, this windy or this rubbish so early last time round. Sound right?

Second, we've both got a week off booked end of April, I'd be 8 weeks and we'd promised ourself a week away, bcs it'd been such a rubbish so far, but now I'm scared to go abroad in case anything happens, would love to know what you would do?

Happy weekends to you all

Velvetcu · 01/04/2011 20:47

Blackkat I have all those symptoms too Grin

I'm going to spain in 2 weeks time, was meant to be Japan but a visit to my nan will have to do instead. DH was aprehensive but I am coming to realise that you can't live based on what might or might not happen, especially when you have no control over it. Is that any help at all?

owl I've been eyeing up the grads fred too but you lot over there are way too diffed for me right now!

Blackkat · 01/04/2011 20:54

Velvet thanks pleased to know it's not just me!! Thanks for holiday advice too, will talk to DH and see if we can take the plunge. Smile

owlbooty · 01/04/2011 21:19

Blackkat welcome to the farty bloaty belchy achey stretchy thirsty world of being up the duff Grin

Someone in here once said their pregnancy guffs could strip wallpaper. I think that says it all. If you're really lucky you'll get the runs too. Shock

Blackkat · 01/04/2011 21:28

owl PMSL (not difficult!) I wonder if it could strip paint too? I don't like the colour in the kitchen and need something to give DH a nudge to get decorating Grin Grin

MummyAbroad · 01/04/2011 21:55

BlackKat Yep, me too. I have all those. I like "booby" as a description of symptom by the way Grin

Collie2 · 02/04/2011 06:14

Morning all.

Well had a terrible night. After a lovely bath I managed to de-stress and chill for a while. But at about 10.30 I started with gentle tummy cramps. Told myself they were nothing, but they got worse until I had awful heavy period pains. Became suddenly very hot, sweaty and dizzy like was going faint. Then came the painful painful cramps. It was just awful. I so thought that was it. All this lasted about 30 mins. Then, had a bowel movement, and gone, just like that. It just stopped!' WTF???!!! Had restless night worrying, still have pain on right side, but what was that all about? Wind? Surely not, it was AWFUL. Felt just like the begining of last mc. Confused

Sorry for jumping in me me me there...

mummya glad youn cancelled your work yesterday and dh home to help. Hope you managed to keep your meds down and there is let up for you soon.

lara so glad you confided in a work colleage and that you have a good plan to avoid working hours that are too long. Have you thought about having another chat with dh about the scanning and showing him the comments on here?

daisy sorry the dog didn't work out. Just have images of it chasing the sheep in cirlces in nauhty disobedient fashion! Smile £5,000 blimey, no wonder your after a bargain.

blackkat glad to hear you've got plenty of smyptoms 'booby' is my one and only symptom!! Grin
Re the holiday I agree you can't live your life around why might / might not go wrong. That said, I think it depends how you would feel about being abroad if something did go wrong. A compromise solution might be to holiday in the uk or go abroad later?? I'm off to Scotland at easter and having been planning a trip to Belfast with girl friends but waiting until I get past the 12wk mark for that.

Collie2 · 02/04/2011 06:17

Opps posted b4 I could finish.

hope everyone is ok today and has a lovely Saturday.

Collie2 · 02/04/2011 06:35

Thinking of mumtum xxxx

katherine2008 · 02/04/2011 07:10

Collie i am not just saying this - I had exactly the same with dd1 - and am having similar but less severe this time (and had no such symptoms during mmc). I am certain that it is our hormones messing around with our digestive system. Try not to worry.

Blackkat · 02/04/2011 07:10

((Collie)) so sorry to hear you had an awful time last night, hopefully it was just wind?! After reading owls wall paper stripper comment last night, Grin I referred to Dr Google, who suggests that the increased progesterone can cause painful wind in early pregnancy, so FX it really is that. Smile
Thanks for holiday advice, DH on stag do til Monday (tsk) so will talk to him about it when he's back, bcs I was away from home last time I think that's why I'm so apprehensive.

mummya glad you have all those symptoms too. I like booby, makes me chuckle, and secretly gloat. Though when they start to open doors ahead of me, it's gone too far!Grin

Blackkat · 02/04/2011 07:12

Sorry katherine xpost

Collie2 · 02/04/2011 07:35

Thanks katherine it is reassuring to hear people have been having all this too....well a little anyway. I'm doing better trying not to worry, just actually so gratefull that the whole episode just stopped last night. Its quite Blush to think it was just wind, but i'd much prefer to be a farting trouper than the alternative. True blackkat there is always owls paper stripper comment Grin Anyway, its a new day today and i am determined not to spend the whole weekend stressing. Starting the day with a positive attitude!!

blackkat i'm sorry that you were away last time, i think that must be awful. I'm in in Scotland when i'm (9wks+3) which is when the baby died last time - booked it while ttc. Have a scan planned for the monday before we go, which i cant decided is a good thing or not?? Planning a holiday is alwasy nice though Smile

OrangeGloss · 02/04/2011 07:49

Lara it's a long time to wait and the dr often just thinks of practicalities. I had a MMC, and no way was I waiting til 12 weeks whether dh agreed or not! Blush I'm glad you told a colleague, and good he is being supportive. I think if taking pads will reassure you then that's what you should do. I have one in my work bag
Tunnocks phew! Your bean isn't alf giving you a rough old time! So glad all is ok :)

With my MMC my kind dr rang the hospital and ha a chat to see what happened as they hadn't told me anything. My bean measured way too small for 12 weeks and had a slow HB. He thought by the sounds of it it had never implanted properly, which I've tried to take a bit of courage from that this time is different

Congrats and welcome to Blackkat Grin
Collie I had the same thing early on, it was so scary then I realised I was just a bit constipated Blush I think it's because everything is so close it can confuse the body
Mumtum thinking of you (((hugs)))

Not much going on here, I had a sneaky Doppler fix on Thursday and took a while to pin down my naughty bean. I was a bit worried she pressed so hard, but only where it wasn't if that makes sense. It did give her a kick for her trouble tho Grin

oh, but not before giving the grads thread a plug Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 02/04/2011 07:53

blackkat I'm going to be in Spain when I'm 14 weeks, which is when the baby died last time. Holiday was booked while ttc but before I got my bfp - but on reflection I think it's probably best. Going on holiday won't change anything and will probably be better for me than sitting here mentalling. I'm going to book a scan for when I get back and just enjoy it as much as possible.

collie sorry you had a bad night - does sound like wind though esp if it's gone now.

mumtum hope you're ok this morning and that you get the news you want x

OrangeGloss · 02/04/2011 07:53

I just went away to google 'pressing down with doppler' and stopped myself. A MW (albeit a trainee with the MW in room) would know what she was doing right? Gaahhhh!!

banana87 · 02/04/2011 08:14

Brown CM. Exactly how the drawn out miscarriage happened last time. Off to EPU.

Ninunina · 02/04/2011 08:25

Sending banana ((hugs)) I can't imagine how scared you are, and I would be the same, but brown cm is also very common in healthy pregnancies. Good luck xxx
