orangehead · 22/03/2011 16:07

sorry sassy and whitehead Sad. We will make room at the back.
Welcome Samanthma.
Af is such a bitch(sorry for language)justed flooded in my car. Obviously with the weather being warm had no jumper or coat to wrap around my waist to distuigh. Unfortuely no one seemed to be around so quickly ran in house Blush Blush. Dont think anyone saw. I am not amused.
All lovely names btw. For a girl Lene (preannounced Lane a )for a boy have not clue

spidookly · 22/03/2011 16:12

Oh yes, sorry with all this names chat forgot to make room for Sassy and whitehead. It's getting cosy down here at the back :)

orange :( that is hideous, you poor thing.

Tanif · 22/03/2011 16:16

orange that sucks :( why do these things always happen in the most inconvenient places and at the most inconvenient times?

Welcome samantha, do try to avoid sitting towards the front of the bus, spidookly has a habit of hurling stale cake and tbh, the further she throws it, the more it hurts!

Iggly · 22/03/2011 16:18

Grin spidookly I see myself as a Victorian sponge. A common classic. Or just common!

orange, poor you :( that happened to me last month when I was on a driving lesson. Didn't notice until I got home and kept thinking Shock I hope I didn't ruin the instructors car.

Oceynorm · 22/03/2011 16:20

just got a BFN ladies.... now i'm really Confused

OP posts:
Tanif · 22/03/2011 16:21

Ocey I was reading on one of the other threads about someone who was about 6 weeks late before she got a BFP, so don't give up hope yet!

spidookly · 22/03/2011 16:26

Ocey - might be worth starting a thread on the Conception board asking if anyone with really irregular periods has advice.

It might still take a long time for you to get a BFP (should one be in the offing).

Iggly :o

I see myself as a choux bun - not much on its own, but marvellous with the addition of friends (chocolate and cream)

Samantha16 · 22/03/2011 16:30

I am really new to this and i might sound a bit thick but what does these abbreviations stand for like BFP ect!! like i said i am new to all of this (blush)

spidookly · 22/03/2011 16:33

BFP = Big Fat Positive (I know, yuck)

AF = Aunt Flo (double yuck)

UCL = usual cycle length

SWI = shagging with intent

Don't worry about being new and not knowing, we just forget how jargony it all gets. Ask if you're confused about anything.

Tanif · 22/03/2011 16:35

I think I much prefer 'shagging with intent' to 'baby dancing' which seems popular with our friends over the pond. I don't want to associate an actual cute little baby with the grunty, sweaty, non-child-friendliness that is SWI!

Samantha16 · 22/03/2011 16:36

lol cheers u lot :O

spidookly · 22/03/2011 16:39

I swore I would leave this bus the first time anyone used the phrase "baby dancing".

It makes me want to commit some kind of violent crime. Angry

What is a very angry kind of cake?

That's the kind of cake I am right now? :o

Hulk cake

PopsyWind · 22/03/2011 16:49

Welcome newbies!

Oooo love talking about baby names - some really nice ones here.

DS is a Tom - rather boring I'm afraid but it was literally the ONLY one that me and DH could agree on (we're a match made in heaven!)

Was wondering if spidookly would give me permission to POAS on day 28 as my cycle used to be that length?

Tanif · 22/03/2011 16:50

Angry cake? Um... madeira cake always made me angry. It made promises it couldn't deliver. Every time I see it I'm like 'ooh cake!' then bite it and feel nothing but bitter disappointment that it's not very tasty.

spidookly · 22/03/2011 16:53

Popsy - hmmmmm

Day 29, and that's my final offer :o

When is that anyway?

PMSL @ Tanif's angry cake being madeira cake :o

PopsyWind · 22/03/2011 16:57

Oof she's a harsh taskmistress!

Errrm think that will be Sunday - That's AGES away!

Poppyjen · 22/03/2011 17:56

Hi ladies

Ocey I am currently on CD ummm...[counts on fingers and toes] 42 Shock with BFNs all the way and no sign of AF so I sympathise!!! I will certainly join you in the frustration of having long cycles.

Is there any chance you could have just ovulated really late? You say you noticed your luteal phase about 9 days ago, do you mean you think that you ovulated 9 days ago if so this would be very early for a BFP anyway.

Someone may already have suggested this (apologies if so, been so caught up in all of the cake-throwing-baby-naming exploits that I have lost track...) but could your bit of bleeding be implantation possibly? If so I have read that it takes about 3 to 5 days after implantation for your body to produce enough HCG for any test to detect (even a blood test).

It may sound like a long shot but in my pre-pill days I used to get some bleeding mid-cycle which my GP said was caused by ovulation (and my mum got it too) so it may even be that.

I would leave it a few days (if you can bear it) and test again just in case. I have banned myself from any more POAS until 31st (my DS birthday...auspicious day?? I'd like to think so Smile )

I too have read lots of lovely stories about fellow MNetters who have gone on to have BFPs at the most unexpected of times because of irregular cycles or late ovulation so I am clinging on to the notion that there's hope for us yet

Mine's a chocolate brownie if you please...Grin and passed politely not thrown Wink

peapop · 22/03/2011 18:01

Thinking11 · 22/03/2011 18:07

Again I need to say "what a busy bus" its taken me over half an hour to catch up on all the posts since I posted before work this morning.

As expected I have been to buy a FR test after work and will be doing it in the morning and I agree that if it is a BFN i will only test again if AF hasn't shown her head by Sunday morning.

Ive had cramping again but a little less than yesterday and I think the erm wind yesterday (TMI) was due to my huge sunday dinner.

Ive felt a little dizzy and crappy with indegestion in the morning again but Im not eating breakfast at the mo so could just be that.

As you can see im trying to be much more positive and realistic than I was last night.

But Im so pleased reading everyone's confessions - I have a constant list of names running through my head (doesn't help when I teach a class of 52) and I keep finding myself in the baby section of every shop, ive not yet cracked and bought any baby clothes but its been very close on a few occasions and not having a partner I could easily get away without anyone knowing so I think ive shown great restraint!

Ok im off to bake more cakes for the bus to take my mind of all this, what do we all fancy?

peapop · 22/03/2011 18:07

Ooo and baby names...I also have a not so secret list on my phone Grin Our top names for a girl are Bea (my choice) and Pia (said like Pee-ah, DP choice) with Florence as a middle name (this is both DP's and my Grandma's name and we love it!)

Boys we like Kit and Roux (although ever since we said that we keep coming across girls called Roux?!) with Michael (popular name in both families) for middle name.

We may have also spotted our 'perfect' pram already too Hmm excited? us?!

MollyDefoe · 22/03/2011 18:12

Hi Thinking! Can you make pizza as well as cakes? I've been sitting in the library since 10 this morning, and I'm absolutely STARVING [begins to knaw on own fist]. Am going out for dinner with friends in about an hour, but not sure I'll survive until then [faints melodramatically]

Tanif · 22/03/2011 18:17

Help me! I'm driving myself mad! Yesterday I had some pinkish-clear EWCM (did the water test), today CM is watery and white, but have had mild cramps in my right side yesterday lunchtime and most of this afternoon. Does this sound like ovulation?! I'm so glad we have this board to obsess on, DP would go mad otherwise.

Tanif · 22/03/2011 18:17

Molly I make a mean scone-base pizza, any preference for toppings?
