welcome 2babyblues Grin

orangehead · 15/03/2011 17:18

Baby blue my youngest is 7, nearly 8 and my eldest is 9. Actualy think a big age gap will be nice.
Between my first 2 only had 16 month age gap and it was very had work. Feel bad ds1 sort of lost me at 7 months old. Had very bad pregnancy, the only way I could stop being sick was to lie down so vitually stopped all fun thing like swimming etc. Love ds2 to bits but sort of wish ds1 could of had a bit more time with me. So Im all for big age gaps this time

sevendwarves · 15/03/2011 17:59

Thanks for sharing your story orangehead. I was a bit :( about our age gap, I never wanted it to be more than 2 years but DS will be 3 in June. DS has a genetic condition which I could also pass on to the next one. We always wanted more but it's taken DH a long time accept the fact that it doesn't matter what people will think of us for having another DC knowing the risk.

sevendwarves · 15/03/2011 18:00

Sorry welcome 2babyblues

orangehead · 15/03/2011 18:39

That must be difficult Seven, but your right it doesnt matter what people think. I know a few people who have had more children after a child with a genetic condition. You cant always live your life on ifs and buts otherwise no one will ever do anything. Sometimes you just have to do it. But is no one elses business.

Poppyjen · 15/03/2011 19:24

Evening all Smile

Welcome 2babyblues !

orangehead thanks for your post Smile I am just a bit wary of celebrating just yet as I haven't had a positive on any other brand apart from Clearblue and I have read about their bad rep for lines where there should be no lines...Once I see it on another I think I will relax Grin

Sassymk · 15/03/2011 19:26

Thanks spidookly! I'm resisting the urge to test so far! Although I am starting to feel a dull ache which is a tell tale sign of AF for me :(.

My DS was a happy surprise so I don't recall any early pg symptoms! It was 7 years ago as well and my memory isn't the greatest in the world :)

spidookly · 15/03/2011 19:29

seven - I may be naive, but I can't imagine there are many people (if any) who would think your decision to have more children was anything other than a very private, difficult decision that you should be supported in.

The idea that someone who might pass on a genetic illness shouldn't have children is a very unpleasant one, and not one many people would subscribe to.

For personal reasons I find that idea quite upsetting, so I won't keep on about it. But really there is nothing for you or your DH to be apologetic about. People who would think badly of you for having more children are wrong.

I'm very glad you managed to convince your DH :)

Poppyjen · 15/03/2011 19:33

Utterly and completely agree with spidookly...sevenyou are totally right in doing what you and your family have decided to do and no-one should make you feel otherwise Smile

spidookly · 15/03/2011 19:35

Sassy - dull ache can be AF or pregnancy

that's why people go insane ttc - all these ambiguous clues! :o

The only thing for it is distraction.

CD20 here today. It's getting vanishingly unlikely that SWI will have any I at all, but still we will persist. You never know!

orangehead · 15/03/2011 19:57

sassy agree with spidookly, dull ache can also be pregnacy. With all my pregnancies had peroid like pain so thinking af coming. It can so easiy drive you insane. I feel feel so totally shattered right now and have sore boobs, but then have to remind myself that every month the week before af I am exhausted and have sore boobs, really now way of knowing which way its going to go [we need a frustated face]

Sassymk · 15/03/2011 20:03

Ha we definitely do need a frustrated face!

Mother nature sure did set out to tease us :)

Thinking11 · 15/03/2011 20:06

Thank you so much for all of your messages of support. It is so comforting when I people that know what I am doing are backing me up and are in support of my decision to go it alone!

Im currently having a clearblue fertility monitor nightmare! I am still on a hight reading without a peak. I have had 7 highs now and have been inseminating every other day. I am totally exhausted and feel like im living in this bloody hotel and my donor keeps joking about how tired he is, if I dont get my peak tomorrow do I stop and say enough is enough this month? The last 2 months have have ov'd on day 13 and day 13 is tomorrow. Arghhhhhhh it was so much clearer last month!

Karbea · 15/03/2011 20:07

Hello,

How are you girlies? Any BFPs yet? Anyone due on my birthday (6th)...

Well my chart is bonkers this month www.fertilityfriend.com/home/332dc0 gawd knows what is going on, gawd knows if i've ov'd...

xx

sevendwarves · 15/03/2011 20:52

Thanks everyone. DH works in a pub therefore people seem to think they have a right to comment on his private life when they've had a few Angry

thinking how frustrating for you! Hopefully you'll get your peak very soon!

Karbea my birthday is the 3rd and AF is due the day after your birthday. I also have a smear test booked for the day after my anniversary!

weimy · 15/03/2011 22:21

Hi guys!!!

Hope you are all well, no symptoms here but only 4dpo. If AF does not arrive I will test on the 30th. Hope to get brownie points from spidookly Grin

Hope you get your peak tomorrow thinking x

cookiemonster100 · 15/03/2011 22:35

Hey all. Day 19...yawn boring. Its the calm before the manic symptom spotting!!
Just wanted to say to Thinking it does not matter how we get the BFP we are all in this together. Hope you get your peak tom.

Tomorrow is one more day closer to the weekend

LivinInTheMoment · 15/03/2011 23:51

Hi everyone!
Just checking in to say hi and catch up on all thats going on.

Welcome to everyone whos jumped on the bus in the last little while Smile and waves! I've got the midnight munchies so got a big bag of bbq hula hoops and some Galaxy bars, please help yourself ladies!

I'm on Day 19 today I think. (UCL 28) When can the sympton spotting begin?!

spidookly · 16/03/2011 00:37

Livin - barbecue hula hoops? My favourite nom nom nom :)

WaitingforStork · 16/03/2011 07:36

Just checking in for the morning, at my desk already but not focused on work just yet! Getting our bathroom fitted this week so keep having to go to DH work for a shower before I come into my work - roll on the weekend and we have our own shower again.

Hello to everyone new who has hopped on recently, sounds like we're all getting to the more interesting part of the month now, should keep us busy Grin.

We're day 12 and have so far managed SWI on days 6,7,9 and 11 (realistically that was just for fun although day 11 might prove productive...) Got a busy weekend planned to really SWI. DH is having a bit of a stressful time at work so I'm not pushing the matter, we both really want a baby but I don't want to give him further reasons to stress, at the minute I can't put a theoritical baby before him - he comes first.

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 07:56

Morning ladies just a quick update: nothing, nil, zero....Sad

BFN this morning on internet cheapie and clearblue plus (new packet) so got frustrated and did digital and guess what...BFN

SO Angry with Clearblue. Please ladies be wary when you use these, especially the kind where the horizontal control strip is made up of small dots. It is ridiculous that they are allowed to charge us so much money for something that is quite frankly not fit for purpose.

So...back on the bus Smile

No AF but I have what looks suspiciously to me like a touch of EWCM today and yesterday so back to SWI just in case Wink who knows maybe I just haven't ov'd yet I have heard that can happen sometimes after coming off the pill Hmm

Iggly · 16/03/2011 08:49

:( and Angry poppy. It's funny you mention CB - I thought I had a faint faint line last month on one CB then did the second one and nothing (same day). I really hope yours isn't the same as mine!

living that sounded like a good feast!! I love hula hoops Grin

Fingers crossed for you thinking, sounds exhausting!

seven, yes I'm Envy at SIL having a newborn but she has had such a hard time getting here with losing three babies around 8 weeks - each time having seen the heartbeat :( I'm more Envy at the four pregnant women I know!

I've given up for this cycle - well did a week ago really. No EWCM nada. I've ordered some OPKs to use next cycle and will be seeing the docs if AF is late and heavy (TMI, sorry) as it has been the last two times. I read that losing a bit of weight and exercising could help - I've put on a stone over a year so maybe I should shift that.

At work now - boo to work!!

MickyLee · 16/03/2011 09:08

poppy Fingers crossed for next month for you!

Iggly It is hard with family isn't it. My SIL has been trying for 2 years with MC 4 times in that time all before 8 weeks. We really wanted to try a few months ago but then found out SIL was expecting. We waited until she was 20 weeks to start TTC. We really didn't want to be expecting while she was still at risk!

Tanif · 16/03/2011 09:42

Poppy that sucks, I say we organise a march on Clear Blue HQ, they're one of the most expensive out there so they can't mess people about like that.

Okay ladies, at the risk of being TMI, I have my smear at 9am on Friday morning. I'm currently on CD9 and have a horrible fear of missing the big day although so far no EWCM. I'm thinking we can sneak in some SWI tonight, nothing tomorrow (because of the test) and then back to it on Friday night which will be CD11. Or should I not do anything tonight either out of politeness to the poor doctor performing the smear?

Also, has anyone else ever had copious amounts of EWCM during their period?

spidookly · 16/03/2011 10:31

Poppy

:(

I'm still not counting you out, but I really feel for you. To have all this uncertainty must be really wrecking your head.

I will never pee on a ClearBlue pregnancy test (even if it's on fire). How utterly useless.

I'm a little confused by what testing you've done - different kinds of CB and then one Internet cheapie?

If you decide you need to POAS again (and jaysus, I'm the "don't pee" queen, but I would in your situation, I think) maybe just get a normal test from the pharmacy (I've found Boots tests pretty good in the past). It seems like this is not the time for Internet cheapies.

Although if you think you'd rather just wait it out a little and sod the tests, I can totally understand that too.

Tanif - don't not have sex just to spare the blushes of a doctor.

Semen has every right to be present at your cervix if you're a sexually active woman. It's nothing to be embarrassed about.

If you want to avoid tomorrow night to spare your own blushes, then fair enough. But definitely no need to avoid sex tonight.

Micky

That was a very kind thing you did for your SIL :)
