Tanif Tonight will be fine. It's not as if you won't be showering in the morning.

Does anyone know how long sperm hangs around for in there? Someone told me 2 weeks but that can't be true surely, is it?

BlueCrane · 16/03/2011 11:21

Morning all!

poppy sorry to hear of your POAS frustration and confusion...would be driving me insane!!

Not much to report here...no positives on my ov pee sticks but SWI anyway at the moment, currently CD13 and managed it CD8, 10 and 12 so far. If we can manage it we're going to try and keep that up for the next two weeks to make sure all bases/dates covered Smile Hmm

tanif I have had lots of EWCM during and immediately after AF before...very confusing!!

BlueCrane · 16/03/2011 11:21

micky I've heard 2-4 days

caramelgirl · 16/03/2011 11:23

Poppy that really sucks. Apparently Superdrug own brand are meant to be the best. Hoping that if it is a BFN that you are already on track to a BFP this month.

Iggly and Tanif my EWCM disappeared as soon as started ttc (am a stresshead, stupid, stupid) and does pop up at odd times including during period. Be interested to hear if opks work. I had a brief go but got bored, motivation up a bit more now tho'.
Seven v tough to be semi-public with the ttc and people feeling that they can pass comments on you, would hate it.
Tanif I think go for it despite smear, they'll be wearing gloves and you don't want to miss your chance!!!

caramelgirl · 16/03/2011 11:25

oops, sorry crossposting as slowcoach. I have a v bossy book which says maximum life of sperm is 5 days and maximum life of egg is one day. But it then says realistically it is more like half those maximums- so 2-3 days for sperm and 12 hours for egg.

Tanif · 16/03/2011 11:27

Right, if the doctor looks momentarily disgusted, I'll be telling her you lot made me do it!

micky I heard the average was 2-4 but sometimes it's been known to survive for up to a week. I've never heard two weeks before, must have been supersperm!

BoogiesBunny · 16/03/2011 11:46

Tanif I think the doctor will see things which are much worse on the day so don't worry. My book says that sperm can live for up to a week which gives us a little more time to get at it!

Poppy this is not how you expect to get your news (or not to get it) I really feel for you and am desperately hoping to get a clear answer soon.

My OV test was negative again this morning and I think I'm going to put them away for a while as I think they are making me more preoccupied, with the mechanics of it all, than if hubbie and I just got down to it.

On another note I have had a pounding headache on and off, every day, for 2 weeks and my gums/teeth have started to ache this week. I spent hours last night googling symptoms and decided to order a pile of cheap pg tests online just to rule it out. I am offically a symptom watcher and struggling to think of anything else which makes me feel a bit mad!

spidookly · 16/03/2011 12:08

If you've had a headache on and off for a fortnight and your teeth ache you should probably see a doctor.

Didn't you have a cold at the weekend? Because those sounds like the symptoms of a sinus infection.

"I am offically a symptom watcher and struggling to think of anything else which makes me feel a bit mad!"

This is your first month of trying, right? :)

On any given month the chances are that you WON'T get pregnant. So accept that, and realise that you're probably in for the medium haul (with the rest of us :) )

This is a really special time for you and your DH - you're trying to start a family together with all the love-making that requires. Try to enjoy it for a few months before getting all mental.

You are going to drive him demented, never mind yourself, if all you will think or talk about is whether you are pregnant.

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 12:28

Spidookly I have done clearblue plus, First Response, Tesco own brand, internet cheapies and finally Clearblue digital.

All negative except 2 out of 3 Clearblue plus: one which showed a thin blue line on Monday and a thick blue line on Tuesday. Using the same FMU I tested a FR on Tuesday and it came back -ve.

Phew. Blush

Boogies I am with you, feel slightly insane with all of the symptom spotting etc...trying to distract myself and just relax. Just made some bread. Very therapeutic Grin

queenrollo · 16/03/2011 12:33

just popping on to wish you all the best.

AF got me this morning. This is 12 cycles, but 15months of trying. Going to see the GP on Friday to start investigating why it's not happening.

Not up to another bus ride myself just yet.

and yes, i just spent the last hour in tears. this is so unfair.

spidookly · 16/03/2011 12:44

:(

So sorry queenrollo, you're right it's not fair at all. Best of luck with the GP. There is a lot they can do. Obviously you wish they didn't have to :(

Feel free to drop into the bus at any point if you fancy it. It's a friendly old place and we'll be happy to chat and give you any support or sympathy you need.

Poppy

You poor thing. That is a lot of weeing. I'm surprised you've got any left, at this stage.

Sorry pet, I'm totally confused by what's going on, so I can't imagine how you're feeling :(

How late is your period now? Could you get a doc appointment and ask them to test you? Explain what's happened.

If feel like now you're in this terrible limbo where you can't get any kind of definitive answer unless AF comes. Even if you got another BFP, how could you believe it?

I'm in awe at how calm you are :)

Daiso · 16/03/2011 13:59

Afternoon all

So AF was due today and if I add the 2 from yesterday morning (sorry spookidly) and the one this morning all saying the same, I thought I'd let you know that they were....
BFP!!!! Grin

Can't believe it - am over the moon but also very nervous as know its v early stages.

So I'm officially a NOV club member but hope you don't mind me claiming it for this month?!

ThePippy · 16/03/2011 14:07

Huge congrats Daisy. Hope you have a happy and health pregnancy.

spidookly · 16/03/2011 14:12

:):):):):):):)

YAY! Daiso - I had a good feeling about this one :)

In fact, one of first things I thought this morning was "I wonder has Daiso tested yet and will we hear some good news"

:o

Oh, I'm delighted for you!

Hurray!

(And OF COURSE we're claiming it for this bus).

Now off you go to the ante-natal club. But don't forget all about the rest of us still on the bus, OK? Pop in and let us know how wretched you are feeling you are!

Grin daiso fantastic news!

spidookly good lecture earlier on...amazing how quickly stress can take over and desire for DTD becomes merely desire to SWI!!

This is going to be one busy POASing bus in the next week given the list of stats and AFs due in the next week or so!! I best get baking for the tea and cake trolley so that you can all munch on lots of cake and drink lots of Brew whilst waiting patiently for your BFP or AF arrival!! Then again, I think spidookly may withold cake and Brew from those POASing too early Wink

Daiso · 16/03/2011 15:45

Thanks everyone.

I know mickeylee it's almsot like it's too good to be true so other than you guys Grin only my mum and sister know. ( couldn't hold it from them - HAD to tell someone!)

Wishing you all LOTS AND LOTS of luck for SWI and POOt'ing and POAS this month.

poppy i'm soooo sorry to hear about your crappy clearblue tests. I feel a bit bad for posting my happy news. Don't lose all hope - there may be something still going on. Will keep fingers crossed.

Daiso · 16/03/2011 15:47

spookidly want to say that you are sooo right with your POAS too early rants ( Grin ) I got a BFN on Sunday from FR but then BFP Tues on FR and CBDigi and today on Sainsburys. Try and hold out fellow POAS'ers Wink

Youremindmeofthebabe · 16/03/2011 16:00

Congratulations daiso!

weimy · 16/03/2011 16:17
