Hi seven this is what I thought too - I'll keep on testing until something more definitive shows up (or AF...) to put my mind at ease Smile

This line was there within about 2 or 3 minutes, faint and thin but there. As the day has gone on it has dried to a quite dark blue colour so there's no mistaking it is a line....we'll see.

spidookly · 14/03/2011 16:37

Poppy - I'm going to update our stats list and put you at the bottom, filed under BFP.

THEN you'll have to believe it's true! :o

(Only joking. Will only do this once you have stopped freaking out and actually accept that you are up the duff :) )

googietheegg · 14/03/2011 17:39

Yay! Congrats Poppy

I need to ask advise re pooting - I'd been using cheapies but they were just always negative, so we've been SWI anyway as my body is acting like it's ovulating.

I bought some Clearblue ov tests at great expense and just did one - no smiley face. Still got EWCM but is prob the last day or two of it, so will the ovulation prob have passed and the cheapies just didn't show it or could it still be to come? I've had EWCM for about 4 days now.

Is it worth doing the Clearblue again tomorrow, given that it says it detects the surge 48 hours before and that's probably passed?

(I showed my DH the tests and he said 'Are you too posh to poot? - ha!)

sillybillymummy · 14/03/2011 17:53

Hey ladies
Can't keep up with these buses, as i've been trying for nearly a year, with nothing happening!

Just jumped on, and poked my head around the front door, to ask ...
I am on day 20 of my 28 day cycle.. and i could sleep last night because of a really dull ache down there... I did eat smoked salmon for lunch, so wondered if maybe it's that.. or whether i could have actually done it, at long last. Its been aching all today aswell - any thoughts?

I think i need to start pooting, as we've just been doing it every other day in between days 9 - 16

Good luck to you all :-)

sillybillymummy · 14/03/2011 17:54

COULDN'T sleep (sorry)

sillybillymummy · 14/03/2011 17:56

TTC #3 cycle 12 UCL 28 AF due 23rd March

googietheegg · 14/03/2011 17:57

Hey Sillybilly, welcome aboard!

PopsyWind · 14/03/2011 18:29

Congratulations Poppy!

That must be some sort of record - joining a bus one day and BFP the next!!!

Iggly · 14/03/2011 18:37

Baby nephew is here, no name yet all very exciting Grin

spidookly · 14/03/2011 19:01

Congratulations Auntie Iggly :)

My SIL is due with her (and dbro's) 1st in May. I'm so excited!

Welcome silly :)

I would say on day 20 a dull pain could be anything from implantation, to ovulation, to nothing of any significance that you just notice due to concentration on what's happening in your abdomen!

Do you still have sex later in the month? I know it becomes a bit of a diminishing return, but day 16 seems early to stop (if indeed you are stopping then).

Why not do some SWI tonight on the off chance? Too much sex never hurts.

(OK that's totally not true, but it never hurts chances of conceiving :o)

pink13 · 14/03/2011 19:03

Congratulations Poppy!
Now, laptop down and off to some SWI Wink

orangehead · 14/03/2011 19:04

Congratulations Poppy, that is great.
Also congratulations Iggly on safe arrival of baby nephew.
Welcome silly billy.
Had a really mad busy day today. I really should'nt cram too much in one day, I'm exhausted and def feeling very horomonal just a shame I dont know which type of horomal. So I'm off to have a bath now and relax.

peapop · 14/03/2011 19:10

Congratulations Poppy !

Congrats on new nephew Iggly you'll have to let us know his name when you can! How exciting!

Just back from GPs for my smear- which I didn't actually have to have! Smile It appears baby brain has set in early for me as apparently I had one a year and a half ago but can't for the life of me remember this! Hmm

Anyway I asked about having one whilst TTC and the lovely nurse told me as long as you are sure you aren't pregnant it's fine, there is no real evidence to show they can affect a pregnancy but they would rather not attempt it just in case.

Thinking11 · 14/03/2011 19:19

Hi

Im using the Clearblue fertility monitor for the 2nd month. Last month I had a high on day 12 then peak 13 and 14 and high on 15. Therefore i inseminated on those four days.

This month I have had highs since day 7 and still hoping for my peak thinking they will be tomorrow day 13 and 14. I have inseminated day 7, 9, 11 and will do on my peaks days.

Am I imseminating often enough? Will I have a peak this month? Will this be my month?

Sorry just need to get this out as not many people know what im up to so no one really to listen to me obsessing.

sillybillymummy · 14/03/2011 19:32

spidookly i think that might be the problem, maybe we're doing it the wrong time of month...
I think i need to get a monitor, to find out - so what would anyone recommend?

Thinking11 · 14/03/2011 19:36

If I get my peak tomorrow I will definately be recommending the clear blue fertility monitor.

cookiemonster100 · 14/03/2011 19:47

Hey,

Congrats Poppy!! on the BFP. Wishing you a happy & healthy PG Smile

Congrats Iggly - on your new aunty status! My SIL is due in Oct. Tanif - I feel the same, I better by PG by the time the baby comes as the green eyed monster might come out Envy!!

spidookly · 14/03/2011 19:49

Hi Thinking - yes, it must be quite lonely doing donor insemination on your own. Even on the thread here your experience is so different from the rest of us.

Are there boards specifically for donor insemination? There must be.

Not that you are to leave this bus, of course, we'd miss you too much :)

But it might help to be able to ask people who have experience of the donor insemination process. It's obviously quite complicated and involved and I'm not sure any of the rest of us can help with more specific questions, just general cheering on.

I have a colleague who had her DD on her own using donor sperm. I had never considered before how tough it must have been for her.

Thinking11 · 14/03/2011 20:08

Thanks loads for your support spidookly, i must admit I often feel like Im not a true member of the bus with my story being so different.

Im on a fab forum with other woman intending to use donor sperm however out of all the girls im the only one who has begun trying so until they get things sorted and catch up with me I kinds of on my own. Hopefully i'll get my BFP soon and non of the others will over take me (of course i'd be over the moon for them if that did happen).

Making the decision to go ahead and do this has taken years and now I have made my mind up and found my donor i want results. Im on my third month and im finding out that I really have no patience. Ive discovered im a whizz at baking cakes though, im spending hours taking my mind off things by baking. Cake anyone?

MrsMcJnr · 14/03/2011 20:10

Congrats Poppy Grin CD10 here and just gearing up for a week of clean living and lots of nookie! Wink

weimy · 14/03/2011 21:03

Weimy hugs and licks thinking

I might try the clear blue thing next month Hmm

BoogiesBunny · 14/03/2011 21:03

Hi all

I've been reading all your posts for a while now and thought it was time I finally joined! I am completely thrilled to be hearing from people who are thinking and feeling the same way I am right now.

We are trying for baby no.1 - this is our first month of trying. Very excited and expectant but trying not to pin my hopes on a BFP this month! I've slightly scuppered myself by missing one of my pills last month and screwing up my cycle so I had no period at all (just a weird thing in the middle of the Feb). I used to be like clockwork before the pill so I'm hoping that will kick off again once my body gets sorted out. I am pooting every morning but no sign of ov :-( Added to that I've had a cold for the last week so all in all it's a disappointing start!

Anyway I just wanted to say hi, ask to come aboard and say congratulations Poppy! Don't be too ancy about - I really hope it is a BFP though! Just wonderful!

Now - about to settle down to One Born Every Minute!

weimy · 14/03/2011 21:03

sevendwarves · 14/03/2011 22:09

Very busy on here tonight.

Welcome aboard boogies

Congrats Iggly, how jealous are you?

thinking of course you're a proper member of this bus, I admire your decision to use donor sperm. I dread to think about the number of women who have probably considered it but not done it through fear of what others think or it not being the 'norm'. I'd say you're inseminating often enough, they only recommend SWI every other day anyway.

CD9 here and started SWI tonight. I've just filled out my menu choices for my friends wedding in June and realised I'd better avoid the prawns and the cheese board just in case. I'll be so annoyed if I'm not pregnant by then!

spidookly · 14/03/2011 23:35

Hear hear seven (re: respect for Thinking's decision) :)
