This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

just a quicky
will try to pop back properly later

Just to say sorry louise about your CP. But it's all been said about the positives of what this can mean for fertility. FX for you for this month.

welcome ozmum.

Special squeeze for gum, ordinary but still heartfelt squeeze for everyone else.

x

Curlylox · 05/01/2011 11:57

Hello all, Gum just be kind to yourself and to louise I know good things will happen for you very soon.....am willing it to. Af arrived yesterday, was so keeping my fx that it wouldn't as December seems to be a "lucky" month for me to fall. Also it seems my cycles are getting shorter, 23-24 days. Need to recalculate my window of opportunity. Are OV kits quite technical, I know it involves POAS but doesn't it have to be done at a certain time of day etc?

ozmum23 · 05/01/2011 11:59

hello everyone!
louise i am so sorry about your CP. i had one the month before i conceived DS2. so fingers crossed for you!

may this thread be filled with BFP this year!!!

before trying for DS2, i had acupuncture treatments. it helped regulate my hormones more, ie, i was producing lots of ewcm. it became really obvious when i was about to ovulate, iyswim.

ozmum23 · 05/01/2011 12:01

hi curlylox
the ovulation kit i used was the clearblue one, where u pee into this stick every morning (first pee of the day) and then the monitor reads the level of some hormone.sorry am so vague (cant remember name!). this hormone indicates when ur about to ovulate. the monitor will then tell you which days to BD for best chance!

BeattieBow · 05/01/2011 12:29

Hi Curly, I also use the Clear Blue one - just need to pee on it in the morning, which is easier for me than the opks that you need to pee on in the afternoon (as I would have to do it at work/with a small child watching).

My cycles are getting shorter too. I am not taking anything for them at the moment, but may start on the agnus castus/vit b6 which seemed to lengthen them last time (or that may have been the acupuncture).

Back at work for me today. it's quite relaxing really!

louisesh · 05/01/2011 12:57

Hi OZMUM welcome XXX

I ve too had acunpuncture before i found it very relaxing.I m trying reflexology next week.

I too use ovulation tests , normally, whatever is on offer.I ve got the first response tests at the moment where you look for the lines .I do like the "smiley" face tests. These tests pick up lutenising hormone which increases just before ovulation.I tend to ovulate quite early so i ve found them very useful.

Hope all are well today?

Arh CURLY poor you X Next month will be our month.I don t test exactly the same time ,just roughly within a couple of hours.

JollS What you improving ? I m trying ti get back to the gym , ain t working yet!!!!

Gum how are you?

Hi to all Diege,Hippy and Muchlove and anyone i ve missed XXX

muchlove · 05/01/2011 16:32

Hi Girls

Welcome OZMUM hope your stay is short and sweet... (if u see what I mean)

Hey LOU I had reflexology last year, it was weekly for about 3 months then twice a month for about 3 months.... I looooved it so much it use to really relax me. Get your reflexologist to concentrate on the ovary area when you come up to OV I use to find it really helped. I also tried Accupuncture aswell and even though it did relax me I didn't like the needles going in me it made me shudder Confused especially the ones in my head !!! But accupuncture can be really beneficial (a bit pricey tho I think).

Sorry bout AF CURLY I know what a bummer it is when you tell yourself 'this is gonna be my month coz....' I do it all the time, well not so much lately but I use to get myself all excited (in my head) and play this whole scenario out and then AF would come and I would be all the more gutted..... I use the cheap OV sticks and then just to confirm I use the clearblue digital (smileyface) as there is no second guessing with those......

Had a strange cycle last month, OV all normal but from about 5/6 days past OV I started spotting right up until AF ??? I am gonna put it down to the Vitex coz that's the only thing I have done differantly.
I have never had a LP problem it is always 12/14 days from OV to AF. Though I have always had spotting usually 2/3 days before AF so don't know if that indicates a progesterone problem/deficiency. I cant remember if I always had cycles like that when I was younger or not (my brain just cant remember)....... Any way I am stopping the Vitex this month and trialing the Inositol/Melatonin/Folic Acid combination... Apparantly doctors in Italy have been using this concoction for years and more recently it is also being recommended for women going for IVF as it is suppose to help with egg quality !!! Yes I said quality not quantity but not sure if there is a massive benefit at this age....will have to see.
The thing with the melatonin is that it can make you feel a bit drowsy through the day (even tho I take it at night bout an hour before bed).
So I think I have tried just about most things now in my quest/dream/plight to have one more bubba...... OH except for DHEA which I don't think I am gonna try as I don't like the sound of the side effects....

If you're reading this TANK my first 4 children were conceived the regular 'old fashioned fun' way Wink back when the only test I ever did was at about 6weeks just to confirm PG....glad to hear your scan went well Smile x

Well hi to everyone else aswell hope you are all ok.....

CD 7 for me and I quite like this time of the month.... anticipation...EWCM....Smileface on the OPKs... being pro-active (if DH is not too tired) and just generally feeling optimistic and up-beat...... tra la la la

xx

hippychick66 · 05/01/2011 18:15

Haven't read all your comments but wanted to quickly say - there is a scan photo on our frind's blog. Wonderful news. Am in tears now. Congrats my dear XXX

louisesh · 05/01/2011 22:02

Seen it.You big soppy Hippy XXXX Smile

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 05/01/2011 22:02

Hello! Just a quick one from me too before heading up to bed. Thanks for the info' about the scan piccy Hippy - wow what a gorgeous picture and many, many congrats if she who cannot be named is lurking Grinmuchlove you'll have to tell me how your cocktail of supplements goes. I am on the vitex, and it has extended my LP from 9 to 13 days or so. Of course that might have happened anyway, but no harm taking I suppose as I don't have any side effects. You certainly sound like you know your stuff!BB how was work? I know what you mean about goi ng to work for a rest Grin. First day back for me tomorrow and you won't see me for dust once I'm out the door. 8 hrs to myself, a peaceful lunchbreak, adult company, and best of all they pay you! Having said that, it has been nice being at home these last few weeks with the dcs...
Louise how are things today? Thinking of you x
Ozmum hello and welcome! It sounds like you will fit very well in here Smile
Well temps slowly dropping so think I'm out for this month. Who's next to pass the baton to?
Love to those I've not checked - Jollster, Italian, Gum, curly, Alba, and anyone I've inadvertedly forgotten x

muchlove · 05/01/2011 22:07

Oh Wow !!!!!! Massive congrats to our 'friend' .....fantastic news.... now she musnt forget to name her/him (got a feeling it's a her) after me coz she followed my SMEP and that was my only request ...he he hee... Muchlove skips off feeling like 'Rumplestiltskin' from the old ladybird books.....

gumblossom · 05/01/2011 23:00

Just had a look at Susan's blog. It's so lovely to see that gorgeous picture.

Muchlove, I'm curious about that melatonin concoction. Where do you get it? I'm still thinking about ttc even if DH isn't. I just don't know how else to get through this dark cloud. It feels hopeful to be actively ttc after a loss, doesn't it?

That doesn't mean I want to replace this baby, just that I can't stand the idea of my arms being empty.

Anyway, hope all is well for everyone.
Take care, love, Gum

NewImprovedJollster · 06/01/2011 08:45

Such lovely news for Sassy. Hope her pregnancy continues worry free and brings her happiness and contentment, and a new phase of her life.

louise only trying to improve my attitude and perspective! No physical goals!

Morning all. CD12 here, so SWI in action. Would like a BFP this month (obviously) but don't think it's going to happen. Think I've probably used up all my get pregnant quickly chances.

So who's approaching test time...?

x

LIBBY70 · 06/01/2011 10:52

Hello ladies, can i join in?

Have been lurking for a little while but feel a bit rude not saying hello!

Am 40. Lucky to have 3DC's already but foolishly thought one more would be lovely. Have had 3 MMC's in the last year but am going to have one last try so thought it would be nice to have some company.

Think i have spoken to Jollster before on another thread where she was asking about DHEA (a supplement sometimes recommended for the more "mature" ladies TTC). I previously posted that I was taking it with no side effects but have subsequently come out in HIDEOUS spots. "Much love" is this one of the side effects you had heard of? Anyway am v upset to have wrinkles and teenage acne now!!

Will have a read through to try and catch up with everyones background so i know who i am talking to but you all seem v lovely!!

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 11:17

libby welcome to our thread - yes we are all lovely on here (especially me! Grin)

So sorry to hear you had 3 MMC's last year. I thought I was unlucky having 2. Our matey jolls also had 3 so between us we must be a due ones that stick around this year Grin.

Sorry to hear about the spots. Will you continue taking or give up?

ps. Libby is one of my names for if we have a girl (but don't tell anyone!)

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 11:33

For those of you on Hippy's BiscuitBiscuit watch - 1 week after ovulation and they have just started to feel a bit more sensitive and a bit more 'there' IYSWIM. Am hoping that this gradual change is a good sign. Usually as soon as I get into the 2ww they go mad, mad I tell you! Anyway, time will tell. diege so sorry to hear temps are dropping.Sad I'm glad in a way that i don't temp at the moment - i can dream for a bit longer.Hmm

Funny story:-

Was telling my sister about my DS2 and his kids slanket (had to explain to her what a slanket was - I guessed it stood for sleeved blanket) anyway - I told her it had a little pocket at the front for important stuff and DS2 said it was good for 'fiddling with his willy!' My sis immediately said, "So less of a slanket and more of a wa...." She's very funny. Grin

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 06/01/2011 11:36

Hello! First day back at work and all quiet so far...Welcome Libby! I can contest that 4 los are great, so much so that I'm going for no.5 Grin
Gum, I know what you mean about how actively trying, or even thinking about doing so, can be a real help. I have a hunch your dh may gradually start to see things your way, so certainly don't give up hope. Has he said anything more about it?
Jolls how is the swi going? There's always one of us at it isn't there Wink
Hippy my dd3 is Libby (short for Liberty) so you have my seal of approval Grin
Well temps back up again this morning (cd 10) but tummy very crampy, so refusing to give my body the satisfaction of even thinking I could be duffed.
Love to all x

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 11:53

ohhh Liberty - i like it - might have to steal it - if i ever get that bloody far!!!

Glad to hear temps up again diege - bump buddies????? Hmm Bear

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 06/01/2011 12:07

Yes, bump buddies Hmm Grin TBH I'll be happy with a decent LP this month, as swi a few days 'out' in relation to ov day, so would be a long shot (so to speak Wink)
Now did you know that 'Liberty' is actually an old-ish name (1920s) and was all the rage with the suffragettes etc so I've been told...She is known as Libby most of the time though..
I am having crippling period-type pains at the moment, so either af is very imminent (well, not today tomnorrow due to high temp) or a beanie is implanting with a pnematic drill Hmm.

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 12:20

Hopefully it is the beanie implanting matey.

That's a brilliant name, I really like it. I was gonna go with Elizabeth on birth certificate and Libby as a nick-name but HmmHmm might change it now. Anyway I need to get a BFP, get it to stick and delivery it safely (plus i need a girlie) so lots to do before I get to nick the name, I suppose. Grin

Enjoying being back in the adult world diege???

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 12:22

I meant to say ... i loved the "There's always one of us at it!" Phrase - it's like we are in a relay and going for the world record or something... Smile

BeattieBow · 06/01/2011 12:25

Hi Libby and welcome! Hope your stay here is short and sweet.

I also had a mmc last year, and am trying for my 6th child (v greedy I know). Was 40 back in May. I am seriously considering moving on actually, but am kind of hovering on this thread at the moment!

I am on 5 or 6 dpo and don't have high hopes this month due to dh getting noro at the important time (git how dare he!). I am trying to temp, but finding it so hard as I keep waking up at 4 or 5 am. then don't really go back to sleep. Sometimes I sleepily take my temp at random times during the night (have been known to fall back to sleep with thermometer in mouth!) so it is all very unreliable. also introduced an electric blanket into my life recently which I'm sure has skewed the temps too - sometimes I have it on, sometimes I don't.

Anyway, sorry for rambling on about my sleeping patterns!

Yahay for Tank! can someone link to her blog?

gum completely understand how you feel about ttc being healing. I feel the same, unfortunately it has been a year almost since my mmc, so I have to think of other ways to heal myself.

alba have you popped yet???

Onwards and upwards for 2011 I think.

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 13:04

BB I'll PM you the link. Just in-case there are meanies lurking who we don't want knowing it [suspicious, worried face that HQ are watching us!!!]

hippychick66 · 06/01/2011 13:10

getting noro??????? Confused
