This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

Got on a lucky one
Came in eighteen to one
I've got a feeling
This year's for me and you
So happy Christmas
I love you baby
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true

Morning all - much love to everyone.

No Christmas BFP for me, think evilRTD and Rudolph jostling for pole position as to who will arrive first. Hate the foolishness I feel when I convince myself being pg is a possibility and then "oh no here we go again". Never mind, will partake of more wine than is recommended over Christmas and try again next month :).

Catch you all soon xx

hippychick66 · 24/12/2010 11:45

jolls so sorry to hear your were not successful this month. Next month we will both give it a good go sweetie. ((()))

louise your kind girl made me well up too. How lovely of her. I assume you are asking where the other hippy lives not this one - I'm 'dann souff' - so not local to you at all.

Not sure if I'll get on here again before xmas now - so MUCH LOVE TO ALL OF MY VIRTUAL FRIENDS. XXX You have all been a great source of support, humour and kindness to me.

Louise I hope you get through the next few days ok and are soon feeling a bit more positive about the future.

fairy/fluffy/tanky I know you will be so sad this christmas and I cannot image your pain - but I am so pleased to hear that you are past the 12 week mark and wish you all the very best for your scan next week.

To the rest of you - Have a lovely christmas - see you back here after we've all eaten ourselves sick.

diege maybe we could meet up and show each other our bumps when you come down to Hertfordshire??? (I hope I wont be a disappointment to you Xmas Grin). (and i hope we both have bumps too) Bear

Italiangreyhound · 24/12/2010 11:57

Love and Christmas best wishes to you all.

God Bless, may the real meaning of this lovely season give us all some peace and joy.

Sorry it has been a crap year for many of us, but there have also been some good bits and may 2011 be full of good bits.

With love

Italian

PS

It's a boy!

We have reserved a hamster from the rescue centre. Now just have to resist the urge to dress him up and take it out a pram Xmas Wink

Curlylox · 24/12/2010 12:00

Ooh ooh hippy I'm in Hertfordshire too!

Curlylox · 24/12/2010 12:08

Hear hear what Italian said "God Bless, may the real meaning of this lovely season give us all some peace and joy."

I hope 2011 is a good year for us all, with many BFP, sticky beans and healthy babies.

Italian thought you wanted a dog......what name have you picked for your hamster?

louisesh · 24/12/2010 17:55

Italian congrats on your new addition!!!

Hippy sorry , its frustratedhippy i meant!!!!! You got a stalker? Down South???? Is that south of Watford gap???? Its all another world!!!! I m from the Midlands orginally and my dh from Derby so we aren t "proper" northeners!!!!

Buggeration !Jolls enjoy your wine XXX

Things Georgie has taught me;

I have some very good people in my life.

I have/had some serious deadwood "friends" in my life who i m in the process of ditching 1 by 1.

Lots of people don t listen/care what you re going through.

Lots of people take time to listen and actually think before they talk.

Life's shit, really shit at times.

Life's exciting at times.

Life never stands still, even when you really want it to.

How important my dh,family and true friends are too me.

Thank you Georgie for coming in to my life , all be it too briefly, for all you ve taught me.Love you my angel XXXXX

All of you have a lovely christmas, hope it brings you whatever you desire.I want a peaceful time and over with as soon as possible.

Love and hugs , all be it virtual, to you all XXXXXXX

TheFairyOnTheTree · 24/12/2010 20:12

Beautiful post Louise
Nearly over now xx

thefatladyscreams · 25/12/2010 00:54

Dear ladies

Just popping in to wish you happy Christmas and to squeeze in a big hug to Louisesh.

Sorry for not posting more often. Very excited to see some BFPs. Very confused by name changing and some ongoing saga with Mumsnet central but think I may have worked it out (dense emotion).

So big congrats to Gum and lady anonymous! Sorry if I've missed anyone out.

May the new year bring many more.

Italian - still laughing at your hamster - I was convinced it would be a dog!

Louisesh - your post is beautiful. You and your georgeous Georgie have been very much in my thoughts recently. I read your post about the lady in Lush - I want to track her down and say a big thank you for being so lovely.

PS I'm another Herts resident - nice to hear I've got some neighbours on here.

louisesh · 25/12/2010 10:11

Thanks TFLS enjoy !!! XXX

AlbaDeTamble · 25/12/2010 13:45

Also just popping in with merry Xmas message and best wishes for lots of new year bfps and worry free pregnancies for the up-duffed

thinking of you especially today Louise, and for the fairy on the tree, I see all those candles on the snug tree are burning especially brightly today. I hope you're having a peaceful day and wishing for lots of love and luck for you x

louisesh · 25/12/2010 18:09

Thanks Alba well thats that!!!! Our worst ever xmas day we are ever going to have is done.Their can t ever be a worse one we have to have can there?

I mean, yes, when my folks pass away the first xmas will be horrible but thats expected isn t it? This, of course, was never expected in a million years. Its just been like a normal day really, the grief is there constantly wherever its xmas day or not......Who cares its xmas day? What does it matter?

My poor dh feels mad and like he's been "robbed" today he really wants a family xmas.So i ve promised him this time next year we ll have our Georgie's brother or sister ,tacky jumpers and spend the day with family instead of just the 2 of us.

Hope you ve all survived XXX

TheFairyOnTheTree · 25/12/2010 20:09

Glad you survived the day louise I've spent the morning at the emergency dentist getting a root filling - though am amazed we could get an appointment at all - wish you could do that in the UK! I suppose it has been a crap day, as expected, but then they all are. Actually wonder if Easter will be worse. Easter is the holiday that Catherine liked - we used to have all the neighbours round for an easter egg hunt in the garden - chocoalte and friends... her fav combination!

Italian Terribly confused by your it's a boy post... for a moment I thought you were contemplating embryo adoption! I used to have a Russian Hamster once - spiteful little b - he was Confused

Thanks TFLS

Gum waiting to hear how the family took the happy news? All joyous I hope?

Now that GG hasn't done the list, I've no idea whose testing next...

Anyway, hope everyone who was aiming for Happy Christmas, got one!

gumblossom · 25/12/2010 22:35

Morning all.

Fairy, what a way to spend the morning. How painful that must have been!

Just wanted to report that the news wasn't taken as I expected. Both my daughters (my big boys already knew) reacted quite badly.I thought they'd be pleased but at first they both looked very shocked and wouldn't believe it.Then they put on brave faces and said all the right things, then off they went with their presents. 5 minutes later they were both crying! They insisted it was not because they were unhappy, just that it was an unexpected shock. They seemed genuinely concerned for their little brother, worried that he wouldn't get enough attention. It's a valid concern, but I know we'll all muddle through and be fine. Now they are fine, talking names and fighting over whether it'll be a boy or a girl!

I think I may have eaten something that didn't agree with me, I spent the afternoon in bed and on the toilet, horrible cramps and upset tummy. Then I had lower cramps, which had me really worried. It has all settled down now, so hopefully it will be okay.

It's good to hear from you TFLS and Alba, how's everything going for you? We need an update.

louise, next year will be a much better Christmas for you and DH. Glad you got through this one.

Italiangreyhound · 26/12/2010 01:45

Curly Thanks for your nice words. Yes, I hope some of the meaning of Christmas was there for all of you lovely ladies.

I did want a dog but my main reason was that DD wanted one! I felt (feel) sorry that we have not managed to give her a sibling and I felt (feel) it is wrong to deny her a pet. BUT the cold weather has definitely put paid to her desire for a dog and I am happy not to get one. Also DH is very keen not to get a dog because it will limit the freedom we have and will also cost a lot (apparently!). We walk a neighbour's dog once a week and we all love it (the dog and walking her) so that is a happy compromise.

Sorry if I confused you about the pet, TheFairyOnTheTree - if it were embryo adoption I don't think they would be able to tell us the sex! I can't tell you the hamster name it is too ludicrous, (my DD made it up and I hope she will change it before he actually gets picked up!).

I know for lots of people getting a hamster would not even warrant a mention but for me it is important because it is one pet thing I can give my daughter and as it is from a rescue centre (yes really!) so I feel we are giving it a good home.

Louise every best wish for next Christmas, may it be all you hope for. Glad you got through today.

TheFairyOnTheTree so sorry to hear about the root canal treatment, I had it this year, the treatment was fine but the pain from the tooth was terrible.

I really hope Lunatic is OK.

Gum sorry you did not get the reaction you were expecting at first but it sounds like they are all fine about it now.

Hippy, next Christmas I hope you will not be able to drink because you will be nursing a new little one.

Love to all - RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege, GG, BB, Jolls, Muchlove, Alba, Frustrated, thefatladyscreams, Lia66 and all.

TheFairyOnTheTree · 26/12/2010 09:54

Gum So sorry you didn't get the reaction you expected - went to look at your profile to see how old your daughters are. I have to admit I know nothing about 13 and 10 year olds - other than being one myself 30 years ago Hmm But I can sort of see how they're very young and that they may have found it all over-whelming at first. Good that they are now busy choosing names... my lot were doing that yesterday - it is really freaking DH out though.... we are still at the touching wood and praying to God stage Confused

By the way, noticed your blog link and had a quick flick at your pics - just wanted to say, your little boy is delicious - and you don't look a day past 36 Grin I signed up as a follower in case you're wondering who that was....

Have also been reading this thread asking whetehr 48 is too old to be a Dad... OMG - DH will be 50 in August... we have friends whose parents are the same age as us - but can't say I've ever really been worried about our age. We were nearly the oldest parents in our baby group with Catherine, but I don't think she missed out in any way... while other parents were parked in front of hte box, we were off climbing mountains and travelling.. My Mum was 40 when she had me, but the person who I had the most fun with was my grandmother, who lived with us... She was so spontaneous and up for anything... it's nowt to do with age, it's to do with love, patience and enthusiasm... (lecture over)

Italian I once had a cat called Bucket. I was an adolescent - and it amused me to think of my mother standing at the back door shouting "bucket" "bucket"... oh well we were all young once Blush

lunatic got out of hospital on xmas eve - everything seems to have settled down. Have all my fingers and toes crossed for her...

And for us all xx

Had a really lovely christmas day quite relaxed and still enjoying being with the dcs and dh (shouldn't sound so surprised I suppose Blush. Cycle-wise, I was hoping to have ovulated by now (have had ewm, sore boobs started days ago etc) but no temp rise. Think I have started the swi too early (cd 8) so will dare a break tonight unless I see more ewm.
Gum a a bit of cramping is to be expected after a tummy upset (something about the bowel irritating the uterus, totally harmless pregnancy wise) so please don't worry. Had the same with dd1 and ds 1 x
Better go, ds has just tipped dd2's hama beads all over the kitchen floor..
Love to all and back later!

louisesh · 27/12/2010 10:55

Hi all

Come on for a whinge i feel very down at the moment.Of course i ve been POAS , i know!!!! Its only cd24 but BFN .I know its too early but i got a bfp with Georgie on cd24 [but that was still 2 weeks post ovulation, whereas now i m only 11 days p.o]Its all i can think of being pg and dreading my af.I m awaiting even the smallest sign that af is coming.

Can t believe i m back at this point again of awaiting my af its so not fair. One of my ex friends is due today.I hate her , she got pg 2 weeks after ttc , had an uneventful pg, never had an MC and today she is due. Its so fu**ing unfair. Why do i have to be back at the start ? I don t want to celebrate new year 's eve as i feel fat , i look shite i just hate myself at the moment.I had my hair cut short a few weeks ago and even that looks a tit.

I m sorry for bringing the mood down.i m going to the gym to submerse myself in the swimming pool.then later i m going to the cinema so i don t have to think.I know no one has the answer : But why do i have to back going through this hell again? Have i not been through enough?

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 27/12/2010 11:05

It is shit louise and you don't have to apologise - let it all out on here. This will be an incredibly stressful time for you - it's bad enough in the 2ww without everything you've been through too Sad Are you able to talk to dh about the testing etc? As you say though, very early days to get a bfp anyway, so don't lose hope just yet. Thinking of you xxx

BeattieBow · 27/12/2010 11:51

oh Louise it is shit. you shouldn't be going through this at all, and it just is a terrible situation. I really hope you do get your bfp soon. and as you say 11dpo is very early.

I've updated my stats for what its worth. dh has a bug and is not up to dtd. Another month gone. sigh.

Glad Christmas is over in this house. I always end up having everyone at mine, because we have the biggest house. Not that it's big enough for 16 people and I just feel very crowded and hassled for 3 days. But take the view that it's something I have to do for everyone else. Then I try to think of an alternative for next year. never happens though.

Hope you all have had a good Christmas.

fairy can I ask - did you get your bfp after doing the EMSp?

Hello everyone,

Louise, I think Diege has said it all. It's really not fair what you're going through and I wish you all the luck in the world to get your BFP soon.

I've stayed away for a while because it wasn't helping my state of mind. I've had chronic PMT and just couldn't get all the negative crap out of my head again. Anyway, I am now on CD3 and can think a bit more like a normal human again. (although not sure I ever did to begin with!). I have caught up on the last couple of pages or so and would like to add myself to the list if that's ok Smile

Diege thanks .Yes, my Dh's fab as he elgantly says quite often "You done a piss test yet?". I know 11 dpo is too early and i have convinced myself that it ll be next month, the same month i concieved Georgie and the due date will be the her birthday.[having read that many, many times post a stillborn child , their sibling is due a year later around their birthday].I ask him, quite regularly, if he thinks we will have another baby he is always most adamant we will and it will happen soon.He is very positive which helps a lot.
