This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 17/12/2010 15:32

Ooh Rednose Hippy, not so good that..Grin. Hold on in there with the testing for at least a few more days x
Hi Alba gosh not long at all now! Would also ask that 2 candeles are lit for me on the tree too please.
Right, back to the sickees - friend kindly getting dds for me, thank god..

galwaygal · 17/12/2010 16:18

Fluffy - thank you for the tree.

GG adds four candles and remembers. Then adds on the two extra ones requested by rednose (diege).

OP posts:
galwaygal · 17/12/2010 16:22

BB - good to see you rejoining the crowd, I hope that it is a time rewarded with a special christmas delivery to you.

alba - good to see you are progressing well, it is strange how having another baby does not take away from the losses, but it is good that you shall hopefully soon have your babe-in-arms.

lunatic - thank you for putting people in this direction. hope you are doing ok still.

Got to go get dinner now, but might pop back later if I get a chance.

Hi GG Smile. I think the implantation hopes are Hiipy's, though as I am feeling her Biscuit Biscuit 's I'm also happy to deal with the implantation anxiety.
Bistro will be opening soon as soon as I can get my children of the devil little darlings fed and to bed.

Italiangreyhound · 17/12/2010 17:58

nicole333 welcome, truly it is not that hard once it all works out. You will find each step follows on naturally. Just get up the duff first and then the rest will follow!

Sorry GG and BB I missed you off my list of people but not intentionally, I am sure there were others I missed but we are a big crew now so that is why.

Hippy sorry it was not the answer you wanted, and we were all hoping for for you.

Gum glad is all ok and hope cyst miraculously disappears.

At work today we had a prayer time (I work for a Christian charity so we pray together in small or large groups about 3 times a week). I brought up praying for people who are bereaved at this time of year and all the other people who will be finding this season hard. I can honestly say that my increased awareness of this is something totally new and even though I have a friend who lost a child many years ago and another whose baby boy was still born a couple of years ago I never really understood how hard this time of year must have been for them. I am only now making the connections and trying hard to be more understanding. I simply say this Louise to explain that I don't think people are being purposely insensitive, I think they just do not think. I am so sorry if people have upset you, maybe some felt that to not send a card would be wrong but I agree a sensitive card would be more appropriate than a Merry Christmas one. I hope you will find some peace amid this time. Although a lot of it is crap, too much eating and drinking, tinsel and all and a lot of it is about families which makes it so hard. There are also some tiny touches of unconditional love and care that still shin through, people who give up their 'day' to serve others, people who help someone in need. I agree it is hard to see at times but it is there and may something of that peace be of use to those of you who are feeling sad this season.

I am afraid I have always been a massive fan of Christmas but I know that for some it is more of a pain or a chore than a delight. May it be as much of a peaceful time for us all as is possible. Xmas Smile

God Bless you all lovely ladies.

FluffyPinkStar · 17/12/2010 19:53

(smooths herself down in front of the snug mirror) Would you believe I got banned again Do you like my new outfit? I decided fluffy and pink with a touch of the ethereal was more me...

Tree is looking rather good, if I say so myself.... Adding a pink sparkly fairy to the top...

Hippy It is too early to test - you have to wait a few more days - you'd think Diege touching you up all the time was distraction enough...

Gum WOOO HOOOO That's wonderful news about the bub - I know nothing about cysts - hope the GP can shed some light.

louise xmas is a bloody nightmare - I really thought it would be ok - no worse than any other time of year, instead I moan about it every day on my blog. If you take a look you'll find all bereaved mums feel the same. It is shit - but only 1 week 1 day and it will be over!

Nicole Just go for it my dear. Trust me - you won't regret it, you won't... and life is too short to be frightened to live it.

Now could someone keep an eye on that fairy... I swear I saw her zapping people with her wand earlier on, granting wishes all willy nilly... xx

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 17/12/2010 20:05

Italiangreyhound · 17/12/2010 21:17

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege actually have just had the most yummy dinner of lamb chops, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, roasted veg and gravy. Although my Mum and hubby were eating too it too my 6 year old to comment on how nice the dinner was! While also jabbing herself with the lamb chop!

SO I am full but could manage a Cointreau coffee!

Have a lovely evening lovely ladies.

FluffyPink · 17/12/2010 21:25

Actually - I have a mad craving for a proper North London doner kebab... there used to be this wee kebab shop oppositve Tufnell Park Station, as you walk up towards Camden Town... oh, they used to be magic... lovely chunks of lamb, chilli sauce.... salad... yum..yum...

Seem to be going through an awful lot of new names tonight....

(Brief aside to the MN moderator - if you're so desperate to moderate something, why not toddle off and look at this thread instead? I think it contains about 1008 messages where I'm variously descibed as a "cunt-rag" - not a term I'm familiar with, but it doesn't sound especially flaterring, and accused of fabricating my daughter's death and stealing the identity of a real bereaved parent amongst other things. Charming! I'm sure it breaches your "no personal attacks policy" more sharply than anything I have ever said, probably ever actually - even when I was a drunk obnoxious teenager. xx)

RuDiegetheRedNoseReindiege · 17/12/2010 21:36

Orders being processed...bit of a delay becuase of the weather but chef taking it in his stride...
Fluffy I am furious with MN towers on your behalf. Why can't they just leave this thread alone? I'm conjuring up the doner you secribe as we speak; that's if you're given the chance to eat it..
Getting ready for Peep show, then bed as I know my night will be disrupted. Ds has temp now!

galwaygal · 17/12/2010 22:46

Hope I am not too late for last orders,,,, I'll have a chicken curry and rice, with naan bread and poppadoms please. Another large glass of chilled white to go with it, actually just pass me a bottle please!!!!

fluffy - I know you are angry with MNHQ, but please ignore all the posts on the thread you linked, they are all people with nothing better to do than speculate stupidly on things they know nothing about. Stick with us (you are doing well so far!) you know that we love your gifts to us. The tree looks especially great now. But we do need to keep an eye on that fairy as you said, I am sure she was flashing that wand at hippy and bb just now!!!! Shock

rednose - whoops, yes it was hippy-hoppy I was thinking of with implantation, but hey store that wish for you for this cycle!

ok, sleep is calling me, so perhaps I will have to have the curry as a take-away tonight. sparkly wishes to all.

BeattieBow · 18/12/2010 07:37

Hi all hope you are well - lots of v excited children here waiting for snow! (and me too)

Mn can't we come to an arrangement that as long as fluffy sticks to this thread she is ok? We don't mind if she is a hairy trucker honestly Smile

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 18/12/2010 09:15

Whooosh - that was a busy 36 hours!!! Have tried to catch up... let me see.

Gum SO happy for you - that's terrific, may all continue to be dull, dull, dull.

Hippy arse about the BFN, but in 2 of my pgs the BFP was very shy to show. Have all crossed for you.

welcome Nicole; hope all proved plain sailing for you. I conceived DS (by accident Xmas Hmm) at 39, and he was born when I was 40. So grab a chair and join the fun.

muchlove can I join you for a glass of SB? BTW people, OysBaSaBl on offer at Coop for 6squid.

hi BB welcome back; had follow up at Ag0r* yest; all tests normal and expected; Scary boss said keep trying, and maybe consider DHEA, and if I do get pg again reassurance scans might help. £1500's a lot of money for no news, BUT I do feel better knowing there is nothing I could have done for my three lost ones IYSWIM. Back to E this week too. Are you going to go back to clinic?

Right better dash - hohoho to anyone I've missed, will try harder next time!

Hope you're all warmer than me - am officially FROZEN!!!

Curlylox · 18/12/2010 11:07

Seasons greetings to all. Sorry have been away too long but will try and catch up over the Christmas period. A big hug for you all, especially louise. Probably won't be doing much else because having keyhole surgery on my knee on Monday...yikes. I have a feeling though that I'll be posting quite a bit and you'll all be busy Grin. Have been trying to work out in my head how DH and I will SWI with my recovering knee Confused...........

nicole333 · 18/12/2010 11:15

Good morning everyone!

I still feel like I'm getting to know you all, so please excuse me only mentioning Louise by name on this post...
Louise, I cannot imagine what you are going through right now. I hope you find it of some comfort to know you have all these lovely people trying to support you in any way they can. I can see from your posts you are very determined and I would like to hope you get your wish very, very soon. With regard to the christmas cards, I imagine it to be quite hurtful that it is appearing everyone is carrying on 'as normal', I guess some people just don't know what to say and end up saying nothing. It's nice to think your close friends are able to acknowledge your feelings at this time. I suppose that's what makes them close friends. Smile

Thankyou all for such a warm welcome. It has given me faith that I can air my worries and possibly work through them. I think the reason why I'm feeling so low about it is that I want this so much, but am worried that I am so scared about taking the jump it will stop me doing it.

I imagine that everyone feels ecstaticly happy when they decide they want to start a family. I just feel like crap! If I can change my mindset into accepting my fears and just going for it, then that's just perfect. Any ideas on how I can do this?!

Curlylox · 18/12/2010 11:34

Forgive me as haven't caught up with all what's going on in this thread yet, so not sure what your fears are but I'm sure someone will shortly be along to share their wisdom.

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 18/12/2010 11:51

hey Nicole
I put off having a family for ages as was scared of (in no particular order), massive change of circumstances, needles, missing out on work opportunities, childbirth... When I got pg by accident I was a bit Confused and then Shock and then Grin.

It's hard work I won't deny it, but it's all worth it. When DS was 1 we started to try for #2. 18 months later and 3 MMCs to show for it, I'm still keen for another, but realise it's looking less likely.

As curly said, what are your fears? Actually I just scanned back and you said pg and birth. Well my pg with DS was a breeze, felt fine, bit tired at times, but easy peasy. Birth was less straightforward (ended in emergency CS) but HONESTLY you do just forget it.

Diege so sorry sweets that I missed your post about your back - so sorry you're in so much pain :(. I also hadn't registered that your youngest was only 18 months. Bless! Glad you didn't get behind the wheel by the way Wink. Hope all things your way are doing ok x

Italiangreyhound · 18/12/2010 11:56

We are a bit snowed in here, Curley hope you make it to the surgery and it all goes OK on Monday.

Fluffy so sorry that this thread has remained and is so horrid.

Louise roll on Boxing Day (I am looking forward to it too so we can share that)

Nicole if it is not too personal what exactly are you afraid of? being pregnant, giving birth, being a parent? Please say if you want some expereinces/advice etc.

GG, BB, Hippy, Muchlove, Diege, Gum, Frustrated and all - best wishes.

By the way Jolls what is OysBaSaBl on offer at Coop for 6squid?!!!!!!!!!!

louisesh · 18/12/2010 12:12

Nicole Hi .I think you have to decide wheter you re more scared of having children or not having them. You have found a good place to air all your worries.Smile

Curly thanks ...hope your operation happens ,all is well and you get home asap.Good luck to SWI mmm.....mind boggling!!!

Hi Diege,BB,Muchlove,Gum and Hippy

Italian it ll be here before we know it!!! 8 days and counting.

Jolls mmm....sounds hopeful. Big fingers crossed session for you and Hippy.

Well, we ve LOTS of swi ,cd4,6,8,10,12,13,14 and cd 15 [twice] so far!!! Come on BFP i ve asked Georgie to "send" us her brother or sister.[omg i finally think i m cracking up!!!]

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 18/12/2010 12:13
gumblossom · 18/12/2010 13:52

OMG Louise, that's bloody amazing - you deserve an award for all that SWI!

Curly, perhaps a turkey baster might come in handy? There will still be time to use the baster for Christmas as well...

I've also heard of something called an "Instead Cup" on American fertility forums.See it herewww.early-pregnancy-tests.com/softcup.html I don't know if you can buy them in the UK?

My DH is away this weekend - gone to the big city to see U2 concert. So I'm up late.I never stay up late except when he isn't here. Weird - I guess I miss him.

Wow - you are getting some snow over there aren't you? They talk about it constantly on the Aussie news. We are so jealous - snow is unheard of here except in the mountains and in Tasmania.

Just watched the last episode in series 8 of Spooks. Can't believe they killed off Ros. She was the best character(Lucas is also pretty good). They keep killing off some great characters. Keeps it interesting I suppose.

Fluffy, I wish the mumsnet spooks would leave you be. You do NO HARM to us, and we love having you around.

Suppose I should get to bed soon...GoodnightXmas Smile

gumblossom · 18/12/2010 13:56

P.S. I'd love some oysters, but they are off the menu while I'm gestating.

I was at the farmer's market today, and they were selling HUGE rock lobsters. They looked yummy, but, they were live, and we'd have to take it home alive and kill it. There was no way I could manage it, so I left it there.

So, could I have one, all cooked and ready to eat in the Snug bistro? Actually, seeings the Snug is virtual, I can eat as much oysters, soft chees and alcohol as I like, can't I? Oh, yum! Nice crisp chardonnay with my oysters, please.

Curlylox · 18/12/2010 14:33

Grin gum that made me giggle thanks for the tip and night night
