This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

Morning ladies. SO much to catch up on.

Louise, I'm amazed that your GP could be so insensitive, but I think he was just thinking of himself - he doesn't want to feel the discomfort of his wife's grief, and his own I should think. Bloody ingnoramous(spelling?)

Not much to report here. Pleased that I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and feeling quite yucky.Dealing with a toddler and feeling so awful is hard, but I know how lucky I am. Every time the nausea drops off a little I wish it were back because it is reassuring!Seeing the GP tomorrow to organise a scan.Think a scan will help with reassurance. At least I hope so.

Just wanted to say that I also took extra folic acid - about 1500mcg- before getting pregnant. I am still taking extra, but it is getting difficult to take supplements.

Hang in there everyone - it is definitely possible to get pregnant at our age.

Does anyone know how Rowing is getting on? I might have to go look for her on the assisted thread.

hippychick66 · 06/12/2010 23:01

morning gum Actually night night cos I'm off to bed Grin How odd Bear - it's tomorrow for you.

Glad to hear you're 7 weeks. Slowly slowly catchy monkey (or whatever they say). One day at a time, lovie.

I've been taking double folic acid since my MC in June. I like to think that when i get my next BFP the extra folic acid will make it a sticky one. Bear

Please note I said WHEN i get my next BFP. Ahh the power of positivity.

Night gum. Bear

Louise 'pah' to your gp.... life's not like that is it...we can't choose how out emotions come out or when....I think it sounds like she wanted to talk about it and her gp husband is not open to this....

hope you are all ok..... too tired to namecheck tonight - ONE party at the weekend and dp and I are STILL shattered! The downside of being forty odd!

40someMum · 06/12/2010 23:35

thanks for info galwaygirl x

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 07/12/2010 15:17

hi all
I read probably every day on my phone, but don't seem to get on the craptop much to post, so am sorry about that.

TBH the Tank issue makes me feel very uncomfortable for a host of reasons; I'm sorry your harmless return has been truncated; I wish you all good things for the rest of your pg if you're reading. Take care x

louise I was spitting at the phone reading your GP thing, but others have already said so eloquently what I was rumbling about. So sorry you have had that to deal with also. I talked about you with my acupunturist today, she was really moved by your situation, well who wouldn't be. I hope Thursday goes as well as it can and you get the answers you need.

BB talked about you too with E! About your tongue! Just me saying her reaction had made me feel better as I had assumed she nodded and said fine to everyone - not her saying, oooo you should have seen the tongue I saw the other day..! Obviously she's a professional! It was funny her knowing you and me, but we don't know each other!! Sorry your weekend got messed up - that sucks. Hope you got some special time anyway.

Having strange cycle; am CD9, but bled for much longer this month, until CD6, and then today some brown CM? Should have started SWI last night, but we're all poorly, and I'm out til late tonight so suspect we won't start til tomorrow. It was this month last year that I got pg after MMC1, and as my last pg (MMC3) was in the same month as Pg2 (MMC1) I seem to like repeating things!! Can't see it happening this month though; am back at the clinic next week for results.

Hope everyone is well. My DS who has language delay said Mama for the first time yesterday Xmas Grin... "cuddle, mama". I cried of course! He's been saying dad for blimmin ages, so it's about time!!

Anyway hope everyone is doing ok - better get ready to collect DS from nursery xxx

hippychick66 · 07/12/2010 18:10

jolly I want to cuddle mamma too now - come here ya big softie Grin. Really pleased for you - they always say Dada first don't they - cheek!

Let us know how the test results go. Did you see what i put about the cats etc? Relevant at all or just Hippy sticking her beak in again?????

I have vowed not to notice my freakin' boobs this LP. They obviously just love progesterone so i am not going to post that they feel odd - not even ONCE - so there!

Bye for now. Bear

ps. Boobs feel a bit weird Wink

galwaygal · 07/12/2010 20:56

Hippy - you have a definite boob obsession, I would suggest counselling immediately!

Jolls - awwww, love the first time they say mamma, so worth the wait!

Lou - yep your GP definitely has unresolved issues of his own.

Gum - great to be 7 weeks, you are still comfy on the bench, just a question, do we have a puke bucket by the bench for those of you who are feeling Xmas Envy?!!!!

Alba - are you feeling the tiredness now? not long for you to go.

Italian - I need you to kick me and get me back on the diet again, shall we work on it together!

BB - good to hear the pressure is off, now just need a little successful whoops at the right time for you!

Lunatic - great to see you here, hope things are continuing to plod along for you....

Now I need to update the list.....

OP posts:
40someMum · 07/12/2010 21:09

hippy - my theory on boobs in the 2ww is that

  1. If they hurt i am NOT pg
  2. If they are 'normal' and i have no symptoms at ALL - I am Wink
hippychick66 · 07/12/2010 21:17

Yes I do have a bit of thing for them - don't I? Mind you, so does my hubbie Wink

It's just that when i got my BFP on 18/12/09 - the reason i tested was cos my boobs felt so large and like they weren't mine anymore. Also when i was preg with DS2 I just knew even before Af was due for the same reason. So now, here I am 2 MC's later and I'm bloody obsessed with the things.

Anyway, who mentioned my boobs??? Ah yes, Me! Blush

Shut up you lot - don't you have anything better to talk about than my boobs.

Boob Bye - i mean Bye bye - Hippy wanders off - mad as a box of frogs. Bear

ps. Coronation street brill tonight. Loving this week of Corrie.

i think that's right is 'post ovulation' vest and pants??

Italiangreyhound · 07/12/2010 23:45

galwaygal OK, Kick up the arse coming your way! OK, get back on that bouncy ball, cycle bike, or whatever you are doing. Tonight my walking buddy and I looked out at the frosty weather and wondered if we could face a walk. An hour later and we were back in the toasty warm (well I was, she was in the car going home) and we had had a good walk.

I've just had porridge and I've got a herbal tea. Are you joining me GG?

Italiangreyhound · 08/12/2010 01:23

Oh rats, OK it's a Siamese kitten and it is soooo cute if you want to see Google Siamese cat and you get about 24 rows of pictures and the 19th row, in the middle has the most amazing picture of a kitten.

Italiangreyhound · 08/12/2010 01:31

here oh maybe this will show why I like them!

OK back to conception and talk of sex with intent and slankets!

hippychick66 · 08/12/2010 13:08

Did someone mention my boobs.........

hippychick66 · 08/12/2010 13:11

louise Wasn't corrie great? I am loving all the drama. John has to nip to the hospital to see his baby born then nip back home to dispose of Charlotte's body - oh what a busy day for him.

diege Are you ok matey? i meant to ask you - do you watch Misfits. it is my absolute bestest favorite programme - i suspect you'd like it too.

tank thinking of you in all that snow up there. Take care of beany and let us know how the 12 week scan goes - (I know you'll find a way to re-assure us and get a message through) Grin

Bear ...... boobs.

louisesh · 08/12/2010 17:27

" misfits" you have to be kidding !!! My dh loves it I can t stand it it's a pile of crap!!!

Can " corrie" get any more exciting? Apart from the " dummy" tram driver he he.

Spoke to SANDS today , spoke to a really lovely lady who has lost a child not long after birth ( days I think) about my emotions . She just reiterated how I m feeling she too has gone on to have subsequent pregnancies since. A bit panic stricken at times today with regards to really wanting to be pregnant again asap but just have to keep having a quiet word with myself that it will happen again and normally doesn t take me that long to conceive. DOn t know if it s an old wives tale that women are more fertile following a pregnancy or miscarriage anyone know? God , I hope so. We started swi yesterday , actually, that one was for fun!!!

Look at me deviating from the rules!!! Got consultant appt tomorrow for georgies pm results eek.... Will try and post but off to mum and dad s after for their weekend and their Internet access is currently unavailable due to the weather.

How's everyone doing? Hi hippy, diege, 40somemum, muchlove, italiangrey and gum

Tried to have a look at your " fur baby" Italian but unable to find your cat. lOVE cats we ve 2 they re my babies both 10 years oldnow. Their world has been turned upside down recently. They are so loving that follow me everywhere.

Hope tank is ok? Oh and hi to jolls and alba xx

Talknicknameyoudlike · 08/12/2010 18:24

GG I thought I was the one who couldnae count - 10 WEEKS Grin

louise Hope tomorrow provides some answers, and isn't too stressful.
Italian and Hippy between yer pussies and yer boobs, I hardly know where to look... ooohhh eerrr missus...

Did anyone see the other thread in conception, which scorned baby dust and offered silk cut and gin... love it...

(leaves a big jug of Long Island Iced Tea in the snug fridge) Not like I can drink it anyway Blush

Mwah, Mwah and Christmas BFPs to everyone xx

galwaygal · 08/12/2010 19:28

Diege · 08/12/2010 20:47

Hello!!! Finally resurfacing after horrible overload of work.
Hippy those definitely aren't your boobs you're feeling , take it from me Wink I think you will just have to abandon all hints of nonchalance and come out as totally boob-obsessed post-ovualation. I have to admit to having a quick squeeze every few hrs, in a smiliar fashion to my increasingly brazen supermarket kincker-checking (remember that? Blush) so I'm not one to talk!
Tank where there's a will and all that Wink. Great to hear from you xx
Louise my love I'm so glad you contacted Sands. A colleague at work lost a baby at term a few years ago and said they really were her lifeline. Thinking of you x
Thanks for the updated chart GG - what would we do without you Smile
Italian love siamese (had a burmese years ago, not too dissimilar). A bit 'yowly' but very sweet.
9 days post-ov here and chart still making me laugh. Great to look forward to morning temp out of genuine interest, and not to confirm fears of impending period. No chance of pregancy with my chart methinks, and actually quite relieved if I can admit to that. I don't think I'm quite ready to get on the rollarcoaster again just yet!
Love to all - I am jetlagged from having Corrie on at 7pm - the evening seems hours longer Grin

Diege · 08/12/2010 20:50

I should clarify, great to hear from you Tank via e-mail Confused
