This is a continuation of the "More ongoing and continuing conceptions and follicling ahead of Feisty, Fabulous Forty somethings"

I thought I would keep the title short as there are so many long ones out there.

I thought I would start the new thread so that you don't forget me Grin

FrustratedHippy · 08/12/2010 22:29

its 40somehere with new name

let's talk cats!! I have a new girl - dp got her for me for my birthday - a rescue cat - all white

She is very pedigree seeming - yowls and yowls but only when the dc are out/in bed

She is a beauty - a real beauty and tiny although dp reckons fully grown

She tries to wash us all the time which is a bit of a pain but lovely at the same time .....cats rock!

Louise -glad about sands chat and swi!! Brill news - I bet you need to feel like you are 'doing something' - hope ovulation happens soon and you and dp do not end up too exhausted Blush

hippychick66 · 08/12/2010 23:32

louise - me and your hubbie are so similar - we both like misfits and we both think about boobs a lot.

will be thinking of you tomorrow - hope you get some answers. of course, none of it will bring back baby georgie but i sincerely hope you are re-assured that you did all you could for her etc. just remember how many people are holding your hand during the appoinment. Sad

what i like about this thread is that even though it's not full of people being jolly and getting what we want - it is still a happy little band, who support each other.

2 hippies on here now - pass around the jos-sticks. Smile

did i mention -my b.......Bear

talknicknameyoulike snappy name - like it Grin

gg any developmenmts on the next baby sock? i drove behind a number plate today that ended in BFP - i was all "ohhh spooky!" Is it a sign, d'ya think??

hippychick66 · 08/12/2010 23:35

ps. my dh is severely allergic to cats so i cannot join in with the whole - i love my cat - discussion.

i did have a couple of cats as a child though and do seem to remember being very fond of them.

i have a lovely toy soft cat on my desk at work - will that do?

gumblossom · 09/12/2010 00:05

Hi girls. Not much to report here.

Feeling like total shite, so am happy about that.

Saw GP yesterday. Was in and out in 2 mins flat. Have a referral for the scan, so will call and make an appointment today.

Blood pressure perfect.

Thinking of you today, Louise.

Talknickname, nice to hear you are 10 weeks. Fantastic.

As for cats. I can see the appeal, but I'm not a big fan. Mainly because they are so destructive when it comes to native animals in Oz. We used to have a kitten, but got tired of the little offerings it left us daily on the door step - baby birds, lizards, rabbits, and small native marsupials. So we gave the cat away to a towny(my sister).

We have a dog now, who is a bit less destructive, but a bit more trouble to take care of. And she likes to run away whenever she gets the chance.

How are the Christmas preparations going? I'm ashamed to admit to having done almost nothing! I did buy a ham, and I made fruit mince yesterday so I can make pies, but we haven't got an advent calender, no tree, no decorations...I must get that started on the weekend. I have bought some gifts, and have plans on making some, but have a sneaky feeling I'm rapidly running out of time! [fbear]

So, Hippy, don't like to mention it, but how are the Biscuit Biscuit?

FrustratedHippy · 09/12/2010 00:45

might have to stick to my alter ego i think hippy!!

FrustratedHippy · 09/12/2010 00:46

Italiangreyhound · 09/12/2010 01:29

Talknicknameyoudlike I am always saying oo err missus! I sound like Mrs Slowcome talking about my pussy. DH very anti-cat so unlikely to happen - also I have picked the MOST expensive and fussy type of cat to have! I also love Long island ice tea!!

Louise hope tomorrow is helpful to you.

GG enjoy your swim, I was late for exercise class today but ironically I loved the class and was so happy to be exercising.

Frustratedhippy hope you enjoy your cat. I am jealous. I now want two!

Hippy love your licence plate? I read a postcode the other day that read out as crap!

Gum when you said fruit mince I had an image of something like beef mince with apricots in it!

love to all

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 09/12/2010 07:42

Thinking of you this morning louise... this is from a James Morrison track and has sort of helped me a bit at times. It made me think of you today.

And I know that it's a wonderful world
But I can't feel it right now
Well I thought that I was doing well
But I just want to cry now
Well I know that it's a wonderful world
From the sky down to the sea
But I can only see it when you're here, here with me

Wave to everyone x

spottysox · 09/12/2010 09:59

Hi all,
Louise thinking of you today.
Gum feeling grim and perfect BP all good signsSmile
Diege I missed corrie, got caught out by the footballAngry I love charting really wish i'd known about it all years ago. I think it should be taught in schools.
Italian we have 4 kittens at the moment and 4 cats. They live in the barn as I'm allergic they are great hunters they leave tails on my patio usually a collection of rabbit, rat and the odd grey squirrel. Need to find homes for the kittens soon. We've also got dogs, ducks and chickens.
Hippy I wish I had exciting boobs like yours mine always feel the same I still prod them just to see but they never change. So I now have BiscuitBiscuit Envy
GG well done floor scrubbing and swimming where do you get the energy, in this weather I just want to sit by the fire.
Love and BFP's to everyone
Spotty

hippychick66 · 09/12/2010 13:04

Thanks for asking how my BiscuitBiscuit's are gum. No one else on here ever talks about them Wink

They feel tender and different but I KNOW KNOW KNOW that it means nothing as far as pregnancy goes. I suppose I should just see it as a good sign that my body is defo cycling (IYSWIM).Because there is such a definite difference between how they feel for the first half and how they feel for the second half of the month.

BUT, I am only on week 1 of the 2 WW so it is too early to symptom spot. Doesn't stop me feeling dead chuffed when my boobs hurt and thinking I have a secret [idiot face icon].

jolls lovely words for louise - hugs to you both - it's been a tough old year for you guys.

talknickname thinking of you too, must be almost unbearable with all this xmas stuff going on. sit tight and next xmas will be so very different for you.

frustratedhippy I don't mind you being a hippy at all but fear you may end up known as frustrated which sound like you're not getting enough sex - which of course is not true of a TTCer Grin

italian glad you enjoyed the exercise class - how does one do that exactly - enjoy exercise???? Grin

hippychick66 · 10/12/2010 13:01

hello ....... hello hello hello (echo in here)

where the feck are you all?

louise hope all was ok yesterday, i know it's hard for you to post at the moment.

Bear boobs.

Diege · 10/12/2010 13:59

Hello, hello, hello back at you boob-face Wink How are things? Af on its way here as temps are falling, but more than fine about it and looking forward to next month. What cd day are you at now Hippy?
Louise thinking of you x
Spotty I totally agree about temping - it still has that 'magic' feel about it to me - really clever and would be so useful to so many people if it were more widely known!
How great is Corrie this week? I did feel Sally a tad mean in not grabbing Molly's hand, but can't say I wouldn't have done the same in the circumstances...
Love to all x

lia66 · 10/12/2010 18:38

hi ladies,

Hope everything went smoothly as it could yesterday Louise and you are managing to get some rest at in laws.

Can someone remind me not to watch totally unconvincing tv births. OMG, Fizz??? WTF? And wasn't she only about 6 and half months or so? I am shouting atthe telly, "it wouldn't happen like that, OMG that wouldn't happen" Xmas Smile DD is saying, "mum calm down it's not real" bless her. Why can't they put some reality into it if they are going to portray births? drives me bloody mad.

So I am 25 wks and this wee one is stuck under my ribs all the time, soo uncomfortable. Still feeling like shit on and off too, wish that would stop. Eyes on the prize so to speak.

Have good weekend all. Xmas Smile

porth · 10/12/2010 18:53

F@£$% F@£$%!!! Excuse my language..
No AF yet. Does my period not appearing (haven't had one since Oct 29th) point to menopause? If so, F@£$%!!!! I've left it too late, haven't I. Bugger!
Am gonna ask GP to do test to see if it is menopause next week, but with NO other menopausal symptons is it likely it IS the menopause?
Prob won't get results back til a week or so and meanwhile I'm gonna be so worried. My periods have always been regular as clockwork. Just when I start trying to conceive they decide to stop altogether! It's funny to be wishing for AF to appear, but I want it to appear!!!
Has anyone else experienced disappearing periods?

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 11/12/2010 09:44

hi all
it IS quiet... maybe everyone's festively frantic?

porth... 6 weeks (have I counted that right) is not that long, but don't know what your cycles are usually like. I take it you have discounted the obvious?

louise if you're reading, hope Thurs went ok.

hippy how are those boooooobs today? Xmas Grin.

Some quite half hearted SWI the last couple of days, but think may have started too late. But we're all so full of cough and cold, it's 'orrid.

Right better get cracking.

love to all x

Diege · 11/12/2010 10:12

Morning Smile. Hi Jolls - I know what half-hearted SWIs are like, so good for you esp with feeling under the weather.
POrth as Jolls says don't think 6 wks is that unusal. I've missed the odd period here and there, and think this can be very normal.
Lia good to hear from you - can't believe your pregnancy is progressing so fast!
All fine here - 11 days post-ov which will give me a lp of 12 days if af shows up tomorrow. Sadly pleased with that Blush
Love to all x

porth · 11/12/2010 14:53

Thanks all. Yes I have done pregnancy tests and I'm not pregnant Sad Though for the first five days I was late I thought I was and that was a nice feeling Smile
It seems a lot to me as I've hardly ever been a single day late (except when pregnant obviously)
Thanks for reassuring me that it's not all that unusual. I can' t help fearing the worst though. Come back AF! All is forgiven!!

galwaygal · 11/12/2010 18:50

PHEW !!! Got away with it, the sock means nothing! Grin, yep CD1 arrived ontime. It just shows for sure that my last years issue with hyper-fertility has truely finished. Good to know I am back to normal!!!! and we got away with the whoops time.

Porth - yes I agree with the others that the occasional missed/delayed af is normal. Also I think that it often happens when people start ttc. I hope for you that af arrives soon to put your mind at rest.

Diege - good to hear you are getting 12 day lp's now.

Jolls - well done on SWI while ill, at least you did it. Hope you feel better soon.

Lia - totally agree with you on the Fizz thing on corrie, my dh and I just burst out laughing at the unreality of it all. I know it was supposed to be a serious time, but it did strike us both as ludicrous! Sorry to hear you are feeling so uncomfortable, but yes as you say, keep your eyes on the goal!

Hippy - hope your boobs are unrealistically huge and uncomfortable!!! And showing real signs of not being yourS!!!! Grin Bear

Louise - hope you are feeling ok and that you are enjoying time with your parents.

Well I am going to bed early tonight and watching a christmas DVD on the laptop in bed I think? Hmm, which dvd and how much chocolate????

OP posts:
gumblossom · 11/12/2010 22:07

Morning Lovelies. It's almost 6 am and the house is quiet. It's very early and I'll be shattered later on, but I just love this "calm before the storm".

Do you think toddlers can recognise if their mummy is pregnant, without being told? Charlie has been so difficult lately: whinging constantly, wanting only mama, major tantrums, and just generally out of sorts and unhappy. Or is this a normal stage for a 28 month old? He also wants the boob all the time. Perhaps he can tell that I want to wean him, as I'm dis-encouraging the BF.Maybe the milk tastes different and there's less of it?

We are all running out of patience with him, poor wee thing.

Galway, sounds like you are relieved that CD1 turned up? Are you using birth control? I'm thinking I might do something permanent after this little one's safe arrival.I don't know. I know I can't ask DH to have another vasectomy. That would be a bit unfair!

How's everyone else feeling? How are the festivities coming on?

We visited friends on their farm yesterday, which was lovely, but I just couldn't muster up the energy for it all. I think they thought there was something wrong, that I wasn't coping with my toddler (which I kind of aren't). I'm sure it'll all become clear when we tell them the news.It was tempting to tell them, but I think we should tell our own children first, and I'm not quite ready for that.I think I will after all the Christmas hype has died down.

Scan organised for Friday morning. I'll be 8 + 2 by then. Hopefully will see something...

How are the Biscuit Biscuit Hippy?
When will you test?

What's everyone having for Christmas lunch? I'm going to cook a ham, and then we'll probably supplement that with seafood on the BBQ and salads. Then I think trifle for dessert.Xmas Grin

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 12/12/2010 20:05

suspect hippy swooning at the boy in yellow trousers... Xmas Grin

louisesh · 12/12/2010 20:26

Hi all

I m back had a lovely weekend at parents house .My bro bought me a "fish" pedicure which was really good.

Back to Thursday; placenta showed e coli infection and thus had detoriated.Poor , poor Georgie became hypoxic and within a very short time passed away. She never stood a chance and even if by some fluke we d have been in hospital when the infection started we think Georgie could have had learning disabilities due to the lack of oxygen supply. How long can an adult live without oxygen? 3 MINS?? So what chance does a baby have????

Can t help wishing (x million) that Georgie had arrived at her due date but obviously she wasn t ready.....Whichever way we look at it it comes back to "its not fair".The most we could hope for now is that Georgie just went to sleep and didn t suffer.

Poor, poor Georgie so loved and so missed XXXXX

Thanks Jolls those words are just lovely.

Hope everyones ok? Sorry not to namecheck.

Oh and good plan in place for Georgies brother or sister.

OctaviaOstrichJollster · 12/12/2010 20:46

louise SO good to hear from you.

Am not sure I will have the right words as I would never presume to think I know how you are feeling, but I guess getting some definitive answer has helped, tragically sad though it is (am a bit tearful reading your post). Am so proud of you for feeling so future focused. A MASSIVE squeeze for you from the south coast tonight.

This was from a poem someone posted; it felt apt.

The child we had, but never had, And yet we'll have forever.

louisesh · 13/12/2010 10:13

Thanks Jolls xx

lia66 · 13/12/2010 11:30

Oh louise my heart goes out to you, so many what if's and I echo Jolls in that I so admire your strength.

I don't know obviously, noone does but it's a reassuring thought perhaps that Georgie was in the warmest place where she had been nurtured and loved until she fell asleep.

Christmas is such a cruel time for people who are suffering, some virtual hand holding from Kent for you. xx

Just quick hello to everyone else.

hippychick66 · 13/12/2010 13:25

louise Obviously you're thinking if only she'd come out on her due date - but as you say, she wasn't quite ready and who knows how things would have gone. Pleae try to take comfort in the fact that, as you say, she probably just fell asleep and was warm and cosy.

You'll whip the next one out - toot sweet and no one could blame you. A big old hug from Hertfordshire (we might be able to cover the whole country in love for you).

All quiet here. I am 8/9 days post ov. i have many symptoms but wont bore you all with them as they could so easily mean everything or nothing. gum I wont be testing until the week-end unless AF turns up before then.
