Meh. Meh. Have just sneaked onto the computer to moan. My parents' house is FULL of baby stuff and the room in which I have been put contains a travel cot, toys, a bouncy chair and a baby bath. The room isn't actually that big so I have been tripping over them. I moved them into another room and got told off because "what difference does it make to you where they are?" Baby and its mother aren't even here yet. You'd think les parents were awaiting the Second Coming.

milano, hope you're ok my dear.

AlpinePony · 01/11/2010 18:41

Oh thank goodness you're alive Aries - I feel empty inside without you here.

Casserole · 01/11/2010 19:02

Riebie I miss you!

InTheSunshine · 01/11/2010 19:18

Evening all. Milano - so sorry. Hope tea and chocolate are helping a little.

I think Mondays should be cancelled from now on. Let's just skip straight to Tuesday....

saltyair · 01/11/2010 19:29

Milano my dear, I'm glad you are being so philosophical about this. Tis shittness of the highest order.

Thank you for hipflask Cass..I think it may have stopped me actually killing a couple of children today...The overly crying seems to have stopped, which is good. Repaced by excessive irritation, although this may be more to do with starting school...

Re Cat sick, one of my cats runs to find me when he's about to be sick, and manages to hold back until I've put some paper under his little mouth. Most considerate.

Pol I shouldn't laugh but your descriptive powers are just ACE!!

Rie darlink, I think you should put said babybee stuff on ebay and use the proceeds to buy Gin and cake.

rocketleaf · 01/11/2010 20:35

if tuesday is the new monday and thursday is the new friday that would be pretty oss as I would only do a 2 day working week.

rie argh, that sounds tragic, i second the bonfire idea, failing that dish it all out amongst the PESH, we like freebies (fyi there is some queue jumping going on over in the Deli)

salty come sit on my knee, i'll help loosen that corset for you, luvver.

InTheSunshine · 01/11/2010 20:36

Oooooh Salty I LOVE books

I've just read the book Eat Pray Love - pretty good, bit self indulgent but worth a page turn. Am now reading The Swimmer.

Best book ever?

rocketleaf · 01/11/2010 20:38

currently reading Norwegian Wood, by Haruki Murakami started off a bit slow but have got into it now. Its rather good and a bit saucy in a slightly awkward way.

saltyair · 01/11/2010 20:39
InTheSunshine · 01/11/2010 20:40

Rocket I loved his book What I Talk About When I Talk About Running.

saltyair · 01/11/2010 20:41

my best book ever, EVER is The Catcher In the Rye.

But I also love Time Traveller's Wife, The lovely Bones, pretty much anything by Maggie OFarrel.....

milanomum · 01/11/2010 20:41
saltyair · 01/11/2010 20:41

'what I talk about' is fab, actually...

saltyair · 01/11/2010 20:43

You have my loves..

Hate.....'Chick Lit', Victoriana, Thomas Hardy...

milanomum · 01/11/2010 20:43

sunnysideup I too loved Eat Love Pray. A kind of modern woman's search for spirituality. Enjoyed. Also just recently read 'The lovely bones' for the first time and thought it was good.

owlshoes · 01/11/2010 20:43

I read The Lacuna and then I read the Poisonwood Bible, both by Barbara Kingsolver. They were v.good. Eat, Pray, Love made me want to give the author a right good slapping with a large kipper, sorry. Oh and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was shite.

There is a woman on TV making wasabi jelly. WTF? That would be the worst surprise in a pudding EVER.

InTheSunshine · 01/11/2010 20:43

Do you run Salty?

saltyair · 01/11/2010 20:43

Poor Lily indeed.

saltyair · 01/11/2010 20:45

I run if there is a large psychpathic man with a knife chasing me. otherwise, not so much...

InTheSunshine · 01/11/2010 20:46

I come from a family of runners. I don't run. Just wanted to check.
