Cheers Truff, and ditto to the silver lining (if you need it - I definitely do unless I have conceived immaculately).

I am so sorry Scorps and Lyra for not wishing you birthday wishes. Will do you both a burlesque type striptease with a chainsaw in aisle 7 (lighting)to make amends. Hope you had lovely dayz.

Liking the BESH stew night. Haven't had dumplings for aaaages. Is giving me good ideas. I do love Autumnal meals.

Truffkin · 20/10/2010 19:37

Salts please do not kindle any menkul (it doesn't take much) FF says I shouldn't test before a week on Saturday anyway so have plenty of time to invent notice all kinds of symptoms

PrincessBoo · 20/10/2010 19:41

Scorpette · 20/10/2010 20:14

Ariesgirl · 20/10/2010 20:48

OP posts:
saltyair · 20/10/2010 20:52

Oh thank goodness.

Truffkin · 20/10/2010 21:07

Kindling ceasement much appreciated Salts

Ooooh a party you say? Bagsy coming as slutty kitten. I'll star carving my pumpkin for the contest and practice breath-holding for apple bobbing activity

Stew has been eaten (yum and fake Winned belly - result!) and am now going to watch Lord Sugar do his stuff. Oooer.

I appear to have turned into a Carry On character. Apols.

PrincessBoo · 20/10/2010 21:07

Our wedding anniversary is on Hallowe'en dear Beshlets.

< relieved proud to have got through the first year emoticon>

rocketleaf · 20/10/2010 21:08

Well I missed the memo about stew and have just eaten 3 pieces of american pizza slice instead. Its all YOUR fault as earlier posting gave me pizza cravings (I CAN blame this gluttony on the sprout cant I?)

I had to go and stalk scorps in the other place to make sure I hadn't missed the illustrious day of birth of herself and lyra Phew, plenty of time to finish party costume.

RunLyraRun · 20/10/2010 21:11

Booboobedoo, I'm really sorry for asking about your job and making you feel all exposed. I missed the detail before you withdrew it but I get the gist - clearly enormously worthwhile and, as Occie says, undoubtedly cost saving in the long term.

I got home to find that it has been confirmed that HO will lose 50% of his job at the end of the academic year. So that's very scary, and not a brilliant fit with TTC. You would think I would be freaking out, and I've tried, but it's impossible when HO is so excited at the prospect. He has seen it coming for a long time (although everyone else involved had their heads in the sand) and is going to use it as the push he needs to set up his own business. I have never seen him so inspired and passionate and brimming over with ideas and enthusiasm, so I can't be anything but supportive and happy for him. (All very well at this stage, but could be a different story when there are bills to be paid and no lovely safe salary). Eeek.

rocketleaf · 20/10/2010 21:27

Ah lyra that sort of sucks but it sort of great too. Brilliant that he is buzzing off it? IME these sorts of redundancies always result in a very positive change for the person and your HO sounds like he is a very proactive sort. Loads of luck with it.

PrincessBoo · 20/10/2010 21:36

Hey Lyra goodness, no need for to apologize, you didn't make me feel paranoid I did it all by my own good self!

I am so sorry to hear about HO's job, bloody hell it's just so scary, so glad to hear he's optimistic and full of ideas.

Ocarina · 20/10/2010 22:04

:( to HO's job Lyra, but that's excellent that he's seeing it as an exciting opportunity. Hope it leaves you both in a better position in all kinds of ways, even if it's a bit nervy in the meantime.

Moussaka was very yummy and there's spare if anyone wants some...

RunLyraRun · 20/10/2010 22:11

Thanks gurlz. He is quite giddy, I do hope it is genuine excitement and not nervous hysteria [hhmm].

Looking forward to joint hallowe'en birfday party wiv Scorpie. I wish there was a pumpkin emoticon, maybe as a seasonal replaement for Biscuit.

Ariesgirl · 20/10/2010 22:41

It's a positive thing Lyra if he's feeling all giddy and enthusiastic. Can't wait to find out what he's planning.

OP posts:
Scorpette · 20/10/2010 22:45

Mmmmm, or a toffee apple emoticon! Although - has anyone ever actually eaten a whole toffee apple? I used to get bored a quarter of the way through.

Sounds like it's both YAY and BUMFLAKES to HO's job shiz, Lyra. It's scary, but it gives him a decent amount of time to really work on stuff and have a really detailed plan and business model for when the time comes.

But, in the meantime, let the upcoming birthday festivities take your mind off everything - let's just make it a 3-day bender from the 29th-31st to also encompass Boo's 1st wedding anniv, Curly's DH's b-day on the 31st and a generally spooktacular Hallowe'en time for all! Grin Fertility spells a-go-go!

PrincessBoo · 20/10/2010 23:08

I did do a fertility spell once [hblush]

It was after the mc. We went to this special tree and did it. MrB not into all the woo but came along anyway.

PrincessBoo · 20/10/2010 23:13

oh and toffee apples, natch. I used to eat the toffee and ditch the apple!

kat2504 · 21/10/2010 06:34

Wow I have one evening off and you all fill up three pages and I have missed the lovely stew!

Lyra, sorry about oh's job but glad to hear he is excited about his new plans. What sort of business does he want to start?

Three day bender sounds great! I'll be just back from my hols by then!

Tried to catch up with Fred but on phone. Sending chocs and wine to those who have been having the wobbly moments. Tis all very frustrating.

Tried the one day late swi just in case. Not holding out mega hope though. Very annoying that window so short, would be ok if we didn't have other things to do apart from non stop shagging! Although non stop shagging would be preferable to work!!

AlpinePony · 21/10/2010 09:01

Well done Barbie on such a brave step which I hope will lead to "good news"! I think it's fantastic that you've grabbed the bull by the horns and demanded your euro-jizzney ISCI baybee! Grin

Lyra I think your OH will do great - he's obviously got a "get up and go" attitude and so I'm positive he'll fare well. Some people just do! :) This time next year Lyra, you'll be millionaires.

Aries How are your baps this morning?

BarbiesBeaver · 21/10/2010 09:23

Hey I really could get a Eurojizzney Baybeee! Would I get a prize if I get the first BESH Euro Twinzz? I could sell my story to the Daily Heil afterwards.

Lyra and Boobs sorry about the job shituation but I'm glad HO's looking at it positively. Sometimes that little shove is necessary to take the leap to do something you wanted anyway. I can understand it can be very scary though.

I was in the stew club too last night - Hugh F-W Spicy shin o beef. Hugh FW = I would.

Scraping copious amounts of ice off my car this morning is not encouraging me to swim in the sea this evening. I need to HTFU.

owlshoes · 21/10/2010 09:43

Morning BESHlets!

I made rubbish vegetables with black bean sauce last night - utter cooking fail. Was trying to use dried salted black beans to make sauce properly from scratch but it just tasted odd. Still, no ill effects this morning so at least it wasn't poisonous. I wish I had made lovely stew instead like you lot.

BB swimming in the sea! I did that last week in spain but with a full wetsuit on. I am a wuss. Are you being brave and just going for swimming costume?

Good that MrLycra is feeling so positive about the potential new business idea - so many people I know of our vintage age seem to be doing similar things and succeeding :)

Truffle excellent work on the complete absence of symptoms. I have some splendid random ones which are clearly utter bollocks:

Crying at Stevie Wonder song on radio = diffed
Vague stomach ache = diffed
Tea tastes funny = diffed

Of course neither of these are anything to do with the evil bean sauce last night and my utter knackeredness and a slight cold/stuffed up nose. Noooooo.

PollyPoo · 21/10/2010 10:01

My coffee tasted funny before I got my bfp. That is all I am saying.

Where is Rie? She said she was going to POAS today if she still felt nauseous yesterday.
