Good luck with the scan newyears!

spilt am sure your mum will only be thinking of you. But I know what you mean about wanting to spare their feelings. I haven't told my mum yet and she lives with us. I don't want her to be worrying like I am - just seems unfair to put her through it too.

mrsa temping has been a great success for most of the women on this thread. Usually within 2-3 cycles of temping you get a bfp. And remember even with perfect timing there's only a 25% chance you'll get pregnant so give yourselves a few cycles to build up your odds, and hopefully it'll happen sooner rather than later.

Tory welcome, hopefully you won't be waiting much longer either.

dani excellent news on the cb digi! Looks like this is definitely happening for you!

tory79 · 25/10/2010 13:33

Thanks for the welcome girls!

May I ask a question about FF? I am still on my free VIP trial at present. Have many of you paid to continue this? Do you think its worth it?

And hugs to anyone who needs them today!

xxx

spilttheteaagain · 25/10/2010 13:48

Hi tory, I had the VIP trial earlier this year and now I'm just logging back in to FF I've only got the basic. The things I miss are:
-When you plot your chart you don't have all the other symptoms showing underneath anymore, just period, cervical fluid, OPKs and sex I think.
-Can only overlay 2 charts now, not as many as you like
-The whole Pregnancy Monitor bit at the bottom (with symptoms, and ranking of your sex timing etc) is gone

I'm not sure how much the VIP thing costs but I did prefer it. It's the chart overlaying I liked the most.

spilttheteaagain · 25/10/2010 13:50

Thinking of you newyearsday x

tory79 · 25/10/2010 14:10

Thanks Split. I think I might go witht he VIP then - its actually on offer at the moment so it seems pretty cheap! Approx £13 for 3 months or only about £35 for the year! Am thinking positive though and will just sign myself up for 3 months first I think!

Truffkin · 25/10/2010 15:11

Hope the scan is going well News Years thinking of you

If lovely chart, so neat and tidy!!

Spilt hope you are getting your Mom time and lots of cuddles / chatting. Of course she will not mind if you get upset and I am sure is expecting tears as you talk about Bobbie with her. This is the time to allow yourself to be looked after, you've been so strong. Sending

Tory I went with the 90 days VIP membership and I enjoy the analysis part that you don't get with the free version. I like the calendar view of the chart with fertile days / OV day etc plotted on there. I also thought that £15 (ish) wasn;t a bad price, considering I'd happily blow that on 2 pee sticks!!

AF arrived this morning so at least no waiting around for me this month. Am strangely quite looking forward to charting again to see if I get another clear shift that shows when I OV. We timed everything well this last month though so am hoping it's just a case of needing a bit more time rather than something being wrong. At least my AF is light and I'm not having any pains / bloating etc - there is a silver lining!

LadyGoneGaga · 25/10/2010 15:18

Sorry AF got you, Truff. Had high hopes for you this month. I think you can time evrything perfectly and some months it just doesn't work. Sometimes the egg doesn't quite get swept into your tube and just gets stuck behind, sometimes that particular egg no good, sometimes it just doesn't happen to implant right. I think for most people it's just a game of chance and after a number of throws your number will come up and hopfully be a sticky one. Charting shortens your odds because it helps remove the mistiming element.

Good luck for scan New years

spilttheteaagain · 25/10/2010 15:34

I remember LittleSilver describing how one cycle they'd timed everything perfectly, loads of SWI at the right time, lovely textbook chart full of the right fertile signs and no BFP and she wanted to shout in through her stomach at all the (long dead) sperm "How could you all MISS the bloody egg??!!" [hgrin]

She should be about 24 weeks now, silver if you see this, come and tell how it's all going won't you?

PeevedEve · 25/10/2010 17:17

Hi all

I've been lurking for some time and only started temping this month. This is probably a silly question but I just wanted to know how temping can improve your chances of conceiving when it indicates once you have ovulated. I'm finding it fascinating so far and just wondered what it is that helps you get pregnant. Apologies if I'm being daft!

I also want to say good luck to newyearsday and digitalgirl for the scans

batteryhen · 25/10/2010 17:31

Hello ladies can I slink in to rejoin you please? Some of you may remember that I came to ask a question about charting ( I got a triphasic pattern) and then got my BFP. Sadly 12 weeks on I have now suffered my 2nd MMC this year. To say I am p**ed off is an under statement.
I had an ERPC on Friday, so I am counting that as my first day of bleeding. I am using FF too as had lots of luck charting last time. I don't seem to have a problem getting pregnant -just carrying on with the pregnancy.

I hope my body gets back to normal soon - did a pg test today and had the faintest line so hope to have a neg by Friday. DP lives overseas so I like to chart to coincide with visits - booking flights around ovulation takes a lot of charting and praying for regular cycles!

Sorry to ramble but I just thought I would say hello - and I hope to be more familiar with everyone soon too xx

spilttheteaagain · 25/10/2010 18:10

battery I am so so sorry to hear about your loss. Was it found at the 12 week scan? How are you feeling after the ERPC? Life is just so unfair sometimes.

I'm not sure how far back you've read but you are in good company - mousebacon (formally theteasonme) has also just had a MC and ERPC at 11 weeks, followed by MRSA Shock - mouse how are you now? And I've also just had a MMC picked up at my 20 week scan. Both of us have posted our stories in the last couple of weeks on this thread.

So three returning graduates, please God no more!

newyearsday really hope you've had a good scan. Let us know when you're ready.

digi thinking of you tonight, and hoping and praying you have a good scan tomorrow and everything is fine.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 25/10/2010 18:30

Wow - we're busy today!

Hope the scan went well newyearsday :)

So sorry to hear about your MC batteryhen :(

Temps took a slight dip this morning www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2de1f3 just hope they go back up tomorrow.

All the "symptoms" Hmm that I have have vanished, except for the fact my face is looking more like a pizza everyday Blush more so than any other month. I've hardly eaten anything today as felt a bit urrgh this morning, but that's probably more down to the fact I've had a really stressful day at work.
I'm really bloated, but that's probably because I havent eaten!! And because of the bloating I can't work out if I'm feeling cramps or just wind Blush Grin
Apart from that, nowt else, but also don't feel very pre-AFish either!

TBH - I'm not twitching everytime I go past boots, as there's no point in wasting my pennies on pee-sticks and I am not really eagerly counting the days down either. I must have subconciously resigned myself to the fact that it just aint going to happen :(

batteryhen · 25/10/2010 18:38

Hi split - so sorry for your loss too , it must be dreadful getting that far along, I hope time is plodding on for you and the pain and heart ache is easing a tiny bit (if it can)

am just going to get a drink and catch up on the thread properly but it sounds like mouse has had an awful time too - and then to end up with MRSA - insult to injury you poor love xx

My 12 week scan was supossed to be on friday 22nd - (would have been 12+5)but on wednesday i had a really small bleed so went off to EPAU. The horrid thing is that I had a private scan at 8+6 and hb seen, dancing bean, when I was scanned last week the baby measured 8+6 again - so it looks like baby died on or around the same day of my private scan. Crapiola times.

However I want to say to anyone coming up for scans or worried about anything like that - I am unfortunate - and quite uncommon - your scans and beans will be fine - there is absoulutely no need to be worried xx Don't let sad stories put you off enjoying your growing bellies and sickness:)

Am thinking of trying acupuncture? x

right -am off to start reading xx

LadyGoneGaga · 25/10/2010 20:51

Hi Battery, so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm another returned graduate too Sad. I bled at 7 weeks, had scan and saw strong heartbeat but active bleed. Three days later all had gone. It's so unfair.

I'm trying acupuncture. Just really to help support my body as much as possible: to rebalance the hormones and help heal myself mentally and physically. Is a bit woo but I've heard good things.

Peevedeve it's not just about temping. Temping is one element of it, that will confirm for you when you actually did ovulate and stop you from stopping too soon. The things that will help you predict are observing the other signs: cervical position, firmness and openness, but particularly cervical mucus. When you get the Egg white (clear and stretchy stuff you know you are getting fertile). Usually you ovulate the day or day after the LAST day you see EWCM. Fertility Friend has some really good tutorials on all of this. And Taking Charge of Your Fertility a great book. Or come and ask questions here!

Ifat hope that temp goes back up.

PeevedEve · 25/10/2010 21:12

Thanks very much Lady, that's very helpful. It seems that temping and checking other signs is the way to go and I just wanted to check I was doing it right!

Sorry to hear about your MC and to be posting at a sad time for Batteryhen. I've been having acupuncture since May and taking Chinese herbal medicine. No pregnancy yet but we've just discovered that DH has a low sperm count and low motility so that's obviously not helping.

I do think the acupuncture is helping me to relax more and feel more positive so I would recommend it.

Good luck to all and fingers crossed for your BFPs

spilttheteaagain · 25/10/2010 22:04

Sorry Lady to miss you from my quick summary, there's been too many losses recently Sad

newyearsday · 25/10/2010 22:07

Thanks for all your well wishes, it means a lot.

The scan went really well, I had tears rolling down my face. It waved it's little arms and fingers! Feel so very relieved and happy, we've been calling family and friends all evening.

batteryhen so sorry to hear about your MC xx

spilttheteaagain · 25/10/2010 22:20

fab news newyears Grin

mousebacon · 25/10/2010 22:36

congrats newyears that's lovely news! Grin

batteryhen I'm so, so sorry for your loss it must be devastating after seeing an early hb. As spilt said, there's a few of us on here who've been through the mill (so to speak) in the last couple of months. It's still very raw for all of us (found myself crying at the xmas party dresses today because I shouldn't be able to fit in them) but charting is a great way to have some control over things.

digi scan tomorrow? Hope all goes well, I'll be thinking of you my love xx

LGG Let me know how the acupuncture goes please - I just looked at reflexology at a fancy spa and they wanted £50 a session. Think I'll look for a lovely lady who works from home.... Smile

dani congrats! May a long and happy 8 months lie ahead of you.

Boo ya sucks to those who have AF and good luck to any still waiting to test Smile

Phew! we're a chatty lot!

Oh! news from me? SWOI has restarted!! Blush
MRSA still being treated with nose goo (yuck) a throat spray and some sort of bleach for my skin and hair

xxx

Orchid12 · 26/10/2010 07:28

Morning all,
Great news new years. Wishing you all the best.

Batteryhen so sorry to see another graduate back. Things have been tough for a few lovely ladies recently so come and hang out with us and we can look after you.

Mouseinthehouse nice to hear your back at the coal face so to speak [hsmile]. I hope the MRSA clears up soon. I too find myself getting upset at things that I shouldn't have been able to do had I been PG (although I've not had a loss, so I'm sure is much more poignant for you). I got upset the other day thinking that we can now book our holiday for next year, when I had wanted not to be able to go because we had a new born, which changed to being heavily PG, which is now might only just be PG so not an issue.

I am getting very annoyed by the fact that we have now done 'everything right' for nearly 12 months and there is still no sign of me getting PG. My chart is looking good this month but I have absoultely zero signs and my temps started to drop today on 13DPO so I reckon it's just a matter of time before the RTOD appears. It's here if you want to have a look.

mousebacon · 26/10/2010 08:56

Orchid, I don't think that dip is bad news. If you compare it to your last cycle it looks much more positive. Good luck Smile xxx

spilttheteaagain · 26/10/2010 10:42

Thinking of you digi x

LadyGoneGaga · 26/10/2010 10:48

I agree with Mouse, Orchid - your temps can't go up forever! Have fingers crossed for you - are you due tomorrow?

Orchid12 · 26/10/2010 11:45

Not sure, LP ranges from 13-15 days, so could be tomorrow, could be Friday. Have even got Mr O interested in this months chart - he never normally even bats an eyelid. Am going to feel such an idiot in a few days for getting his hopes up.

Danilou22 · 26/10/2010 12:14

Good Morning all,

Went to docs yesterday and now all confirmed all being well and correct my due date is June 28th. I see the Midwife in 4 weeks and then she will sort out my scan (all being well of course)
