Hello again, gets busy round here on a monday doesn't it? Congrates again LadyGG :o rooting for you.

Bessie, you asked to see my chart a while ago, it should be here

i did it by right clicking and opening new tab as i haven't got round to setting up a home page yet so i hope this works. My temps seem VERY static compared to other peoples, especially after OV, so not sure if that os super swotty or a bit too good to be true, very early days anyway.

Ifatfirst I've only just started checking my cervix too (found it on the hunt for CM) If you start checking early enough in your cycle, assume that it is Low, Closed and Firm at that point and then you can chart any changes from there. Think the first cycle is going to a learning curve, and I couldn't tell if it was more open around Ov as it was almost out of reach! TBH I think the height is a dead give away as it shoots right up out of reach the days i got + OPKs.

Chocciechip I definitely think you should get your GP to refer you, thats such a cop out to just say 'sorry cant help' Unfortunately with some of them you have to hustle to get anything!

Danilou22 · 17/08/2010 21:38

Evening all,

As we seem to be on the subject of our cervix's where should it be during the luteal phase?

Saladbomb · 17/08/2010 21:48

Back to normal I think. It rises up during the 2-3 days you are most fertile then drops back down after OV.

LadyGoneGaga · 17/08/2010 22:02

Thanks for all the kind wishes, everyone! Just adding my EDD.

Ladies, I would have BD'ed more but DP was away! According to some, I might have inadvertently optimised chances of having a girl becuase we SWI'ed two days before ov. Will be interesting to see if tis so in 9 months time. DC1 is a boy so would be nice to have a girl but really I'm totally not fussed either way.

Never got on with the cervix checking because as a veteran of a vaginal birth it always feels a bit open! Felt it today though and is mega firm and gone high and as closed as it ever does.

rosieposey · 18/08/2010 08:17

Hi ladies, i posted on your last thread but would like to join you on this one if i may. I havent joined FF yet and only started charting this month with a Boots bbt and little booklet that you can get - my temps seemed all over the place (mostly really quite low) but yesterday and today they appeared to have gone up. Im not sure if thats because i only got 2.5 hours sleep after DS woke me up though at 4am last night and the night before - i am hoping its because i ovulated though.

Also doing CBFM but not having much luck. It might be faulty as has only ever given me high days (not a single low or peak) and i spoke to CB yesterday and they said it will continue to give me highs now till AF as its waiting for a surge. I got a very short one on CD 15 which the monitor didnt pick up in the morning - i tested with an old CB digi opk and it gave me a :) (was negative by the evening again though) so it must have been a super short surge and the monitor missed it - still is very odd to be getting highs on day 6 though ... will persevere for one more month then send it back as they have suggested.

I would like to join FF and i will use their charts from next month but im a little worried about being able to chart at the same time each day - mine is variable by a couple of hours - im probably doing it wrong.

There is alot of successes on this thread - three since you started it! :) Congratulations to you all - what a lovely way to start. Heres to plenty more bfp's.

theteasonme · 18/08/2010 08:23

Hello just got a v feint second line on Internet cheapy. Don't actually believe I'm pg but what if I am?! Have been drinking plenty of wine to console myself for not being pg! Aaaggh!!

Ell11 · 18/08/2010 08:47

Oooh Teason sounds promising! how many DPO are you?

Rosie - Hi! I can't help with CBFM as I don't know what it is! However I do take my temperature as soon as I wake up in the morning which is variable by 2 hours but I always put the same time into FF as I have discovered it doesn't make any difference and I can clearly see when I've had a rise - though I also seem to have flat temps which also makes it easier. I know lots of people fluctuate more than I do!

My chart looks like this today. I am too frightened to test even though I know it looks really promising. We've been trying for 3 weeks shy of a year and I have begun to think I can't have any more (am very lucky to have 2DCs and I had an EP between the two so have only 1 tube). I've had too many BFN due to long cycles hence starting to chart 3 months ago. They are so disappointing. Only have internet cheapies to test with. Won't be able to sleep tonight if I don't test today but sooo don't think I can look at another - Sad

Ell11 · 18/08/2010 08:53

Salad - clicked your link to your chart and it just seems to take me to my own chart!! Not sure if this happens when others click? It shouldn't take long to create a home page and then you can just copy and paste the link in here (unless I'm doing something wrong too!)

LadyGoneGaga · 18/08/2010 10:21

Ell11 - chart looks good. Did you test? Apparntly if temps stay up for 18 days you are defo pregnant. How long is your luteal phase normally?

Ell11 · 18/08/2010 10:31

Have not tested - too chicken. Have only got 2 other charts to go on - one Luteal phase was definitely 12 days but the other is inconclusive due to thermometer 'going missing' (DD2 who is 2 'borrowed' it) for 2 days. I think that phase would have been 13 or 14 but FF says 16. It's not helpful is it!

Added mine in. Should know better if this is all OK after the 7 week scan next week.

In other news Ikea have finally agreed to replace our borked mattress so I might get a decent night's sleep for once!

digitalgirl · 18/08/2010 12:18

teason omg!!!! Do proper test with proper words and everyfink! (and don't worry about wine, won't affect bean till 6 weeks).

newyearsday · 18/08/2010 13:20

good luck teasonme and ell11 sounds v promising

I think it'll be a while till I get a bfp...I found out recently I've got uterine fibroids and only one tube works. Our consultant is convinced the fibroids are stopping me conceiving so I'm having day surgery in October, to check things out and hopefully remove them. Gulp.

I'll have a go at sharing my FF chart...

hippychick66 · 18/08/2010 13:58

teason - sounds like you could be just a teeny tiny bit UP THE DUFF!!

Thanks for the list spilt - you clever thing.

It shows that charting is definitely the way to go.

On the 40+ thread one of the regulars has been saying how we have to keep SWI even after we've ovulated as there is evidence that semen helps with implantation.

In natural terms it kind of means that the body says, "Ahhh the man is still around it will be ok to go ahead with this pregnancy - he'll provide for the child!"

This is what she said:-

"...intercourse may act to assist implantation. Animal studies reveal that exposure to seminal plasma, the fluid component of the ejaculate, is particularly important for achieving normal embryo development and implantation. Animals that become pregnant through artificial insemination or embryo transfer without being exposed to seminal plasma have substantially lower rates of implantation than those exposed to seminal plasma."

"...When the data from the two treatment centres were pooled...a significant improvement in the proportion of transferred embryos viable at 6?8 weeks gestation was seen in the intercourse group compared with the abstain group."

"...women exposed to semen via sexual intercourse exhibited a significant improvement in the proportion of transferred embryos that remained viable by 6?8 weeks gestation."

So now I have to keep SWI even after the temp shift .... busy, busy, busy this month.

hippychick66 · 18/08/2010 13:59

newyearsday sorry I missed your post. Sorry to hear about the surgery - good luck with it.

digitalgirl · 18/08/2010 15:25

Hippy that is very interesting indeed! Was worried post ov shagging would dislodge bean, but now can keep on guilt-free.

emptyshell · 18/08/2010 16:48

teason go get another test and get peeing girl. You know the very faint squinter rules - it's when it gets to soap opera level in here when that happens! (And I'd drank 2 bottles of wine before I got my BFP because I was sulking over sister in law being upduffed)

theteasonme · 18/08/2010 17:16

I've got a FR stashed away and will use it in the morn. I'm starting to get my hopes up! FFS we only had SWI once. Nope. It's impossible, I'm not pg. It'd be an immaculate conception! God I'm gonna be miserable tomorrowGrin xx

emptyshell · 18/08/2010 18:18

I'm spotting again... rusty coloured when I wipe.

Terrified.

hippychick66 · 18/08/2010 18:21

theteason As long as the one time you SWI was close to the day you released the egg - once is still enough.

Good luck for the morning.

digi The current discussion on the old bag's thread is this.... Orgasms are good when you are trying to fertilize the egg (contractions give the boys a leg up) but are those same contractions a problem when the embryo is trying to implant- could they dis-courage implantation????

One lady said we had to keep SWI after we've Ov'd to do the whole 'the man is still around - it's ok to get pregnant' thing.

BUT she thinks maybe we shouldn't have an orgasm Shock That sounds a bit harsh to me. But it has got me thinking. I nearly always enjoy myself - well it's only fair, now I'm wondering if those same orgasm contractions that I am so pleased are helping things along at fertilization are causing trouble about 10 days later Hmm Hmm

hippychick66 · 18/08/2010 18:23

Sorry empty I crossed posts. Wittering on about orgasms and here's you terrified.

When is the first scan??? This part of pregnancy is totally shit if you've had a bad experience before - so sorry you're having all this worry.

emptyshell · 18/08/2010 18:40

Have a scan booked in on Tuesday at 7 weeks+1 I think it is. Waiting for the doctor to ring us back now. Spotting's since stopped but was more than last time I had it so I'm kinda doing my nut with worry about it all.

chocciechip · 18/08/2010 18:42

Hang in there empty. hippy is right - these are horrible horrible days when you've had at least one bad experience. And fingers crossed for you teas tomorrow, and for you ell11 ....

.... well, AF has arrived for me this afternoon ... two days earlier than she ever has before ... ever. And that's also after spotting since 6DPO. I have bawled most of the morning and plan to drink tonight. Stuff it. I am really worried about what might be going on.

DH and I talking about changing medical practices because I had a melt down this morning - nowhere or no one I can go to to find out what's going on. At least, not unless I fork our £150 on more private care, which we can't afford at the moment.

It's the 'Cycle 07/22/2010' chart on my homepage: www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/myhomepage.php

newyears - I too have a large fibroid. Mine apparently takes up between 10 - 20% of my womb but apparently can't be operated on. I didn't know about it until my second MC (no symptoms). No implantation in that space ... so I am a bit Envy of you being able to have surgery even though I know I'd be scared too. What kind and how many etc do you have? Wondering if I need to talk some more to someone about it ....?

Orchid12 · 18/08/2010 18:54

Sounds like we may have some more good news! Fingers crossed for teason and ell.

Bug hugs to empty too. What a horribly worrying time for you.

choccie I can't see your chart but I really do understand where you are coming from Sad. Am sending a large glass of wine and a pack of choccie biscuits your way. I have the opposite problem at the moment. I'm now on CD 40, LP of 16 days, with no sign of AF. I have had this before (Feb), with an LP of 22 days which I KNOW is not right but which the doctor dismissed out of hand. My usual LP is 14-15 days. I'm booked in to see the doctor on Mon but actually think I may phone for an emergency appt tomorrow because I too am having regular meltdowns. I had got my head round not being PG this month, but now am faced with a silly LP and anxiety about just how long it will now take for AF to appear. Am so fed up with feeling like I'm not working properly. How long have you been trying?

Orchid12 · 18/08/2010 18:59

Should add, yes I have POAS this morning at 16 DPO and it was negative.
