JustShaggingForNow · 10/08/2010 10:04

squirrel and notasize10, it looks like we have a little group forming who will start TTC around the end of August/beginning of September. How exciting!

nannyl, congrats on coming off BCP and binning the pack - we both did it the same day! Now the waiting game begins (or at least a new stage of the waiting game). Good luck finding a family car!

What miserable weather we're having. It's days like this where I really need that extra cup of coffee to get going. I'm still debating whether to give up caffeine completely while TTC and PG, or to stick to the one cup a day. Has anyone made that decision already?

mrswantstobeamum · 10/08/2010 10:28

Whywait, congrats on the TTC decision! One more for our October TTC club!

JustShaggingForNow · 10/08/2010 10:34

Whywait - amazing news!! lucky you!! I am so please for you that DH has come around to TTC earlier than planned - Am thinking that maybe we could have him host drinks for all our DH's so he can talk them around too!!!

bebejones · 10/08/2010 10:40

Have made brief notes, so sorry if I miss anything! Can't believe how busy it has been here over the last couple of days!

DDs birthday was a big success! Have popped a few pics on my profile, JS thanks for comments re:cake! Took me ages!!

Exciting all those binning the pill! :o

Welcome to all newbies, pjd, notsize10, littlegreenie, mummyinwaiting, mrs

Envy of anyone with nice weather, drizzly & cold here today!

nannyl - love the car shopping requirements :o When I was PG with DD I drove a corsa, we bought the pushchair/travel system & then discovered we couldn't get it in the boot! So ended up buying a new car to fit the pushchair in! Which I'm sure isn't what you are supposed to do, but actually the car we have now is much better all round!

WhyWait - :o On your little secret...it's safe with us!! Wink We went to Bristol zoo, it was fantastic, had a great time & DD loved it...especially the meerkats & butterflies!

Sorry if I have missed anyone/anything important, I'm trying to type & make sure DD doesn't get into trouble at the same time! Will have a read back when she is napping later!

whywait how exciting for you.

so pleased you had a lovely weekend.. im luvky as although my family are 250 miels away OH's family are all within about 5 miles max, and we can walk to his mums. His mummy will be a perfect MIL / grandma (im soo lucky in that respect!)

mrswantstobe I am definitley giving up caffiein completley for the few months before TTC, i might have the odd cup of tea when actually pg, but if i am used to my caffine free tea by then i might just remain caffein free...
how funny we finished our pills at the same time

looks like we will have a batch of you TTC 1st before the next group of us join you Smile

squirrel007 · 10/08/2010 11:02

Am going to reply properly later (is tricky posting as I definitely don't want to get caught posting on here at work, and so am on phone) but I just wanted to say yay for the small 1st Oct group :)

I am cutting down on caffeine right now to 1 coffee a day - don't think I will cut it further when pg. I'm not convinced that it's necessary?

My health kick is on hold for a couple of days while my arms recover from heavy weights!! Thanks for the positive vibes :)

We went to a wedding in June and there was a new father there who was waxing lyrical about the joys of fatherhood to my DH. After the vast amount of wine, champagne and gin he had drunk he agreed that we could stop using contraception but then the next time we were getting down to it pointed out that he had been drunk and hadn't meant it..... cue very very angry wife!!

We've got friends coming to stay with us at the weekend who have a 9 month old DD. They are his best friends from Uni and are blissfully happy so am keeping everything crossed that he will see that it's not all awful! The boys are looking after Annabel whilst her mum and I go to the spa on Sunday morning so maybe he'll do a little bit of cuddling and fall in love with the idea...... Hmm wishful thinking!!!

Thanks WhyWait!!!
God today is dragging!! Got pre wedding drinks tonight with some of DH's old work colleagues and their girlfriends / fiances so should be a fun one!

Think the paint works at the flat may be a bit of an ongoing project as this week we have an unprecedented 3 night out! Shock I did managed to get 1 coat on 2 walls though so we're getting there!

notasize10yetbutoneday · 10/08/2010 16:33

Hi again to everyone. Yes I will be throwing my pill (eeeeek) on the 3rd october which is the last night of our holida- really don't want a period whilst on holiday!

Good luck to us all starting around then and everyone else too. JS- It was only once Dh started seeing friends and colleagues really 'take' to fatherhood that he came round to the idea of wanting TTC- so fingers crossed for you this weekend with the gorgoeus 9 month old will do the trick!

strawberrypie · 10/08/2010 18:07

Welcome littlegreenie (good name!) Good to hear of another January recruit!

nannyl exiting news about car shopping, good luck with that! We are thinking of getting a bigger car but not sure how big is big enough....could you what you need for one child in the back of a focus? or would a mondeo be better?

mummyinwaiting are you a veggie? I am but DP isn't so there is often an issue finding meals to suit us both....he puts a brave face on though when the quorn comes out!

mrs I am trying to cut out caffeine this week as an experiment to see how I will cope when PG, I've had a headache though and the redbush tea I've got as an alternative is deff an acquired taste!

JS I'm in awe of your 5K run! I am useless at running but am not too bad on a bike so between you me and nannyl we could do a triathlon!

Fantastic news about TTC in October whywait! I'm thrilled for you! :)

strawberrypie · 10/08/2010 18:09

also bebe just looked at your photos...DD is adorable and the cake looks amazing!

nannyl · 10/08/2010 21:55

good luck JS with DH and spending time with babies... lets hope babies are super cute so he just wants one!!!

strawberriepie Lol at us doing a triathlon.... me and OH could do it too as he's a super cycler and runner, but have banned him from too much cycling due to sperm issues!

mrs i agree redbush is an aquired taste... i like tick tock which i think is similar and i have it quite milky, or another one i like is called dragon fly... my fertiltiy diet book (the one that bans us from easting anything not raw, seasonal and organic freshly picked Hmm advises against chemically decaf products ie no decaff tea or coffee (and goes on to list the long reason as to why which i have forgotten)

Some exciting news here tonight

I have just bought our FAMILY car that i pick up tomorrow Smile

a Xsara picasso, 2 isofix points and will fit 3 childrens car seats.... HUGE boot ready for travel cot, buggy and all the other baby paraphanalia!!! Smile

nannyl · 11/08/2010 08:36

bebe have just got too curiouse and looked at your photos...
WOW that hungry caterpillar cake is AMAZING. and you have the cutest DD Smile

whywait (or anyone) what channel is OBEM on? i dont think i have ever seen a full episode and i would love to actually sit down and watch it Smile

squirrel007 · 11/08/2010 08:56

Hi all!

bebe just looked at your photos and that cake really is amazing :) Plus your dd is very cute!

nannyl exciting news about the car! Is that because you are planning for a future family?

js fingers crossed the 9m baby is cute and charms your hb!

whywait I've had the giving-up-caffeine headache too, not good! That's great news that your hb has come round Grin you must be excited.

Am on my 3rd day of less caffeine now - yesterday I had a huge post-lunch craving for a coffee, but I resisted, and drunk lemon and ginger tea instead! Tonight I'm off back to the gym again, now my arms have recovered from Sunday's trip. Right, off to work now, have a good day everyone Smile

bebejones · 11/08/2010 09:01

Nannyl - Good choice on the car front, we have a Meriva, (so the vauxhall equivilent) and it's a fab size car, not too big but big enough IYKWIM? The boot is HUGE!!! :o

OBEM is on Channel4 or one of their channels. But you can watch it online off 4OD I think. They have a website too!

JS - fingers crossed spending time with a cute baby will help encourage your OH towards TTC! 9months is a great age coz they are doing more & aren't all 'wobbly' like a newborn which can be scary!!

Thanks to everyone for nice comments re cake & DD. DD is my proudest achievement I just adore her & she is very cute Wink

Glad I don't drink tea or coffee, can't imagine having to stop the caffeine, made my mum feel really poorly!

Still putting off talking to DH, he's so stressed about work & money so I'm completely sticking my head in the sand! Hmm

JustShaggingForNow · 11/08/2010 09:15

morning all!!

I think I am in need of a Bloody Mary this morning as I drank a little too much last night Grin (on a school night as well!!!) Was a lot of fun though. Think I will be on here a lot today as I can never motivate myself to do any work with a hangover!!!

Does anybody know if they are going to make another series of OBEM? I watched the first one on 4OD when I was off work sick a few months ago and loved it (despite finding some of the women a tad whiney!!!)

Very impressed at all of you going off caffeine so early. I'm not a tea or coffee drinker but I do like the occasional diet coke and i'm sure I'd be hard pushed to give that up unless I absolutely had to!!

Have packed DH's camelbak with my trainers, exercise kit and new sports bra (purchased yesterday!!) and I am going to run home from Bond Street tonight - 5k. I figured that it was a good way to ensure that I don't bail out and only do 1.5k Grin

Bit of an odd request but can everybody put a photo up today please, I want to know what you all look like as I have pictures in my head from chatting to you and I want to see if they are correct!!!!

JustShaggingForNow · 11/08/2010 09:20

sorry bebe xpost
I hope that you get the chance to chat to your DH at some point. It's not sticking your head in the sand at all, it is being kind and considerate and thinking of him - which I am sure he will appreciate.

nannyl · 11/08/2010 09:34

morning JS

im really sorry but i have no idea how to get a photo on here Blush
i could add you to my facebook though? Smile
