The one before the BESHory Towers. Easy one for summer: I have dug up a fishing pond in the middle of the Palace, put a roof light over it, got some fishin' sticks and put some Gershwin on. Salad's providing Elderflower Fizz, served by newbs in topless bikinis. Could life be better?

Hello all, I'm VAG, I'm also one of the first-wave BESHes (I think I invented the term BESH but am sure someone will correct me if I am self-aggrandising). Am also to be found in the Deli but often lurk in the corners of the Palace (once a BESH always a BESH I say). Though I struggle to keep up and frequently miss things, so please do not get offended, 'tis nothing personal just my incapable memory chip. Also, Scorps is mine, all mine! Ditto the Desparate Romantics

Have a round of Espresso Martinis (surely a morning drinkie) and chinese burns.

Yay Gin is back!

BESHcall ? newbie here (grovels to regulars). Trying over two years, currently waiting to start IUI, hopefully next cycle. Got to 12 weeks pregnant after 4 goes with Clomid but then baby couldn?t be arsed and had to be evicted.

RunLyraRun ? my FSH is the same as yours. Hope yours are exemplarary too IcebergLettuce ? good luck for next week.

Thanks Scorpette on the needles input. Do you feel nice after it? Interesting that Cameltoe and Poo both had it?..I think Poo?s FSH levels improved after it?

Mountie ? I love you, shhh, it?s all right. I didn?t have any antibiotics before my HSG, that?s how much the NHS cares about me. Just a leaflet with ? ?if your fanny stinks or is dripping with ectoplasm after the HSG go see your GP.? Take some Nurofen extras before you go and try to stay relaxed (I know, I know) it will be ok. There are lots of reports of spontaneous diffages after having the HSG too so maybe that will give you the extra little boost you need. I know it seems shit having to go through scary procedures when it might not be anything to do with you, but the FC have to have a full picture of the both of you before they can recommend how to proceed. It is scary though, but it is over very quick.

GOOD MORNING HEADPOUNDING! How bout a nice greeeeeeasey pork sandwich, served in a dirty ashtray?

Welcome other newpeeps.

Glad you had a good holiday Gin. I hope you don't mind all us interlopers butting in.

MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 10:24

Thank you Stinklets and eek re. your HSG! If I want to stop being a moany old caah, I should thank lucky stars that we are at UCH which has good rep, and they offer all these stuffs for free. (Crazy post code lottery.) The lady consultant said that if everything is like it seems to be, it is the IUI we'd be going for.

Can somebody please remind me what is that place where you check effectivness of FCs? I know UCH is meant to be good, but some snooping won't harm...

BESHCall

My name is Polly, I am nearly 39 (gulp) and I have managed to carry and raise a small person to the age of almost three without killing, maiming or scarring her (well, I can't say for the menkul scarring). I have however hit her head on various door frames and dropped a bottle of bathroom cleaner on her head as a newborn. TTC No 2 for 2 years, had bloods done after a year (FSH & LH too high to conceive, progesterone too low). Had to correct those by acupuncture/herbs before FC would even see me. At second FC appt got reduced to tears by bitch of a nurse who guessed that Boo was the product of a 'fluke' and we may never have children again (she didn't even have our results at the time!). I was determined to get diffed without their help after that. Praise Allan, the month before they dished out the clomid (April) we got diffed. The baybee is still there, due at xmas and I am now out of de nile.

Ginsters so great to have to back. Well you wanted violence...

Welcome to all the newbs, I'm sorry I can't remember you all (yet), but I'm having trouble remembering my own name and where I put my car keys last night.

Headbanger · 23/07/2010 10:35

Mountie totally understand your current menkulling. I would bet all I own* that our diffular problems we have are down to the OM, because a) my entire (massive) family is incredibly healthy and fertile, and his is dying out and feeble of mind and body, and b)my tests are so far really normal and he hasn't yet gone for his, and I'm convinced that his shift working, unhealthy police-food habits, and genes, will mean that he has only ever produced one healthy sperm and that got wanked out sometime in the early 90s

So erm, well, just to say don't beat yourself up for feeling a bit like that. Is only to be expected I think. Men DO have it easy with fertility ishoos as with everything fucking else in this life.

PollyPoo · 23/07/2010 10:38

Hello StinkyTits, I did indeed sort out hormones with da needles - initially FSH was 29 and LH 23, Progesterone on day 21 was only 23 or summat. The FC would not help me out unless FSH was under 12. After 6 weeks of weekly needling sessions FSH was 8.9 and LH 3.2 (very good for BESH of my age apparently. I didn't get another progesterone test done, but I did start temping and could therefore tell that I was now ovulating. I love the needles, they is magic.

MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 10:40

Bangers, I hear ya sista' I hear ya. Same here, long living family with no genetic anything, while his ... totally different story. Really, I am questioning responsibility towards future offspring (inshallah). BTW, fatso article is the one Scorps pointed out was the part of MN news.

Scorpette · 23/07/2010 10:48

Take me, VAG! Lose me in a flurry of preggonorks and velvet frockcoats!

Am off for last day at work. Am both and Laterzzzzzzzzz

PerfectDromedary · 23/07/2010 11:02

Bye, Scorps. Hope last day is not too sad.

I did do the needling thang - FSH went down from 13 at its highest to 8.6 the cycle that diffment occurred. Was also taking all the supplements I could find, so not sure which had the most effect, but am grateful for all of it.

I remember being really, really pissed off with TNB at moments when we were diagnosed. I had a wonky tube and riddikulus hormones, but it was his lack of sperm that was the real problem (in my head, anyway). As with the lack of invention of the male pill, it's partially the patriarchy, but also that the male reproductive system is stupidly simple compared to the female one, therefore there are fewer things that can be interfered with to fix.

Mounts I guess that they're checking out your tubes because there won't be much point in IUIs if the eggs get blocked? And no, they didn't unblock my tube. Apparently, one blocked tube doesn't reduce your chances by 50% because the other one can waft about and pick up eggs etc.

Am very verbose today - can you tell that I'm working at home?

StinkyWizzleteats · 23/07/2010 11:06

pollypoo and Camel thanks to you both for your replies about the needle love. It gives me some hope, which has been a bit lacking in these parts in recent months.

saffronbun · 23/07/2010 11:19

This may be naive but surely:

Man test: look at dirty mag; fill tub; wait for results.

Woman test: Inordinate amount of miner's lamp/dildocam/blood tests/faffing/etc.

Surely it makes sense (financially and otherwise) to do the man test first just on the off-chance.

Is complete arse.

MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 11:19

Verb away PefectDome, I is in need of company. Thankfully my best friend is not getting diffed either. Ok, that's bad, but she is not paniced yet, so it's ok, and she is not leaving me behind.

OP posts:
MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 11:24

Yeah StickyBun, but if they have to do IUI because of HIM, they still want to know I am all unblocked, like Drom says, otherwise the procedure is unneccessary. What can I bet though, that my tubes are fine? (I am sure now that I said that, CH will end up being vindicated.) Also, HSG seems to me as much complicated procedure as IUI!

WAAAH WAAAH! MEMEMEMEMEME! I promise I'll stop all this whining soon.

OP posts:
MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 11:26

Stinklets what did you say was the rationale behind your IUI?

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 23/07/2010 11:30

BESH call

I spent 90% of my best fertile years with a total dick who pretended he would like a baybee with me one day then changed his mind, said he never wanted them and went off with a bi-atch who looks like a boy. Ishoos I say. While in my post-rebound incaution I accidentally got diffed with someone I barely knew. Sorry. Gave it a go, he pissed off when light of my life only 10 months old.

Now back with my lovely ex from when I was but a child and trying to win a baybeee. But still BF no. 1 and three years older than last time, OH works away during week and have thyroid probs so may take some time.

MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 11:35

Wait, let me decipher this: you have one mooch? And the guy you are with now is not the one who pissed off with a boy? How long have you been trying this time? (Also, are you aware that you have to wear gym kit and serve elderflower fizz by the pond?)

OP posts:
Casserole · 23/07/2010 11:37

Just linking to this thread as some of you will know better than me what this lady's going through right now.

StinkyWizzleteats · 23/07/2010 11:41

MavisCruet unexplained fertility. My FSH is elevated (around 10) but no other issues. I got pregnant before just using the clomid so I think they are hoping that this will just up the number of eggs and improve the wombular lining.

MountTheFairy · 23/07/2010 11:55

So, you are doing Clomid + IUI this time Stinks?

OP posts:
laurielou · 23/07/2010 12:04

gin Welcome Back!! Feel like you've been away foreva

LadyGoneGaga · 23/07/2010 12:05

MTf yup, one mooch of the blue flavour aged 2 and 2 months. Yes, current squeeze is non-boy shagging. Am 32 next month. Only second month trying but think might take a bit of time due to above.

I did attempt to make Elderflower fizz once but was disturbed by the number of insects lurking in the pan and discarded when it failed to fizz.

laurielou · 23/07/2010 12:08

scorps hope today is OK for you. 'ere cops a feel of these bad boys to help you along
