😂😂
I didn't actually 'need' any wrap, but at 9p a roll i couldn't resist! My new years resolution is to not buy for the sake of it, not even two weeks in yet and ive broken it! 🙈

My M&S isn’t great but I did manage to bag myself some sparkly boots I had been eyeing up online. £17.99 from £60. Also pleased with the perfume sets.

Paid 99c for the starry version (ROI)!!

Thank you for the well wishes all. All ok at plaza chips. Only the garden sofa had to be thwarted in its attempts to take flight! Back to work as normal today, all schools open. Just bits of tree, random trampolines and shed rooves in strange places!

@albanyriver same!
We have had most success so far with The Range, Card Factory, Sainsbury's, Morrissons and Dunelm

Awcw1234 · 09/01/2026 19:52

My girls love Bubble, Plouise, Sol De Janeiro etc. If I buy now, do you think they’ll be in decent condition for Christmas? Hoping to buy through the year so I’m not so overwhelmed!

hby9628 · 09/01/2026 20:08

@Awcw1234i often buy toiletries in Jan sales for Xmas. I’ve got some Byroma for my daughter. Shelf life of skincare & cosmetics is from when it’s opened so keep it sealed & it will be fine

SuitablyScolded · 09/01/2026 20:54

I was in my local aldi yesterday, heavy reductions on everything Christmas including these little tins of butter biscuits for 29p. BBE 2027.

First Christmas gift for 2026 bought. Some fleecy PJs reduced to £2.99 from M&S for my niece 😀

hby9628 · 09/01/2026 22:11

@LoopyGremlinwell done! I think M&S have had some great offers on this Jan. I’ve done well with gifts for next year from them

Petal7 · 09/01/2026 22:24

Happy New Year all!

In RL, M and S had some great bargains at 70% off - got shoes for £8.99 from £30, a Christmas cushion for £6 instead of £20, lovely initial toiletry bags for £2.39 and Christmas cards at 90% off. I also got some lovely jars with bulbs in for £3 instead of £12.

Sainsburys also had some bargains scattered all over the store - a tin of Cadbury's chocs for £2.37, Bluey wrapping paper for 25p etc.

John Lewis has 70% off Christmas decorations and some good bargains in their sale.

Hoping Boots cut from 50-70% soon!

Lifeisforliving2025 · 09/01/2026 22:27

Spent £20 in M & S sale today and bought

Frozen dressing gown
2 pairs girls fleece pyjamas
4 x initial toiletry bags

Total bargain, was too late for any beauty bargains though.

Hereslookinatyoukid · 10/01/2026 00:38

There are some bargains on the converse website - I saw a post about some suede shoes on the Active page here on MN.

Depending on the colour, I think these would make a gorgeous present and if you sign up for an account you get free shipping. I can’t get it to stack with the welcome discount, but they are on TCB

I was looking for these yesterday in Aldi but they didn't have any! They taste so good!

John Lewis have some gorgeous leather bags at great prices. I saw the utility shoulder bag in store and it’s so soft. I was tempted by the oxblood one at £69 but it’s dropped to £39 now! Black even cheaper.

@ILoveCatsAndKittens none in my Aldi either. I was hoping for a few tins as my kids love them.

noodledoodler · 10/01/2026 18:10

Hey everyone, I found you all again, great, Happy New Year to everyone. I did an order today from Rachael Galley, there’s an extra 30% off til midnight plus 5ish % topcashback. Free gift with purchase on offer too but think you have to spend maybe £250 to get it. Some lovely cheaper items and Christmas baubles. It’s my first order so will report back how it goes. Codes didn’t stack for me tho.

Puffalicious · 10/01/2026 20:05

Hey all,

I've been on the Christmas threads each year for the last 3 years - phenomenal- but I've never been on the prequel. Happy to be here!

Was just saying to DP the level of reductions I've seen have been mental this year, & no wonder people do their Christmas shopping in January. I already had the 5 (FGS!) January birthdays bought, but with a big family & 3DC there's always something needed.

Presently keeping an eye out for Switch2 deals for DS3's February birthday.

Bigger purchases will be for the (hopefully) back extension later in the year. All the kitchen offers flooding my phone are making my head spin- are they decent deals/ worth buying now or is it false economy? 🙈. Anyone with intel?

Hereslookinatyoukid · 10/01/2026 21:41

I have a strong recommendation on kitchen for you @Puffalicious - it’s worth getting a quote with all the discounts for something approximately right if you have that in your head. You can get many of the companies to price-match like for like in a few months. However I absolutely wouldn’t rush into buying your kitchen now and putting down a deposit, unless you’ve done all your research and know exactly what you want. You will get some hard sells now, but there will be all kinds of deals later on too.

Thank you, that's great advice. There's so many 50% deals advertised right now, but I always wonder is it 'really' 50% in reality. I'll do some calm research/ digging & keep those quotes safe for later.

There was a beautiful ex-display deal that I wanted to jump on, but probably just as well it was the wrong colour- a snap decision is never good!
