Festive greetings to all and everyone. We're so close! I've just got a few last minute bits of wrapping to go and I hope everything is all bought. The Christmas food shop is arriving on Tuesday, the gingerbread house is being baked tomorrow and cinnamon buns are on my list of things to make before the week is out! Massive Christmas wishes to each and every one of you.

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

Merry Christmas everyone!

My DH received a navy snood from his parents today. I know she used a discount code to buy it from Toast. It's RRP £75 - unfortunately he'd much rather have the money to spend in Zara 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is there anything we can do short of keep it or put it on Vinted? If I contact Toast they'll refund my MIL presumably.

It's a shame bc it's a lovely item but a lot of money to go to waste if he doesn't use it.

Toast items make good money on eBay or Vinted tbh. No gift receipt enclosed? I personally would wear it, but then I really go in for the Monty Don aesthetic!

imnottoofussed · 26/12/2025 20:18

I’d be super pleased if someone bought me a toast snood for Christmas. Just had a look and it looks great to me, can he not be convinced

Oneborneverydecade · 26/12/2025 20:31

I would wear it but then I feel like he'd be missing out on a present and he had the least to start with.

No gift receipt unfortunately. It's a lot of money to spend on something someone hasn't requested.

I might try Vinted

Anyone’s kids get a potion kit that was a success? Looking for one for DD’s 4th birthday

DressOrSkirt · 26/12/2025 22:46

There's a good sample sale on East End press. I haven't bought from their sample sale before but bought my parents and in laws individual Christmas cards from them this year and they both loved them. I couldn't normally afford to get everyone on my list cards from them, but got 2 sets of their Christmas card packs for next year!

Both DSs loved their crab spoon holders and Spicery curry kits.I also used some Tesco vouchers to get chocolate pigs in blankets from Choc on Choc which caused great amusement!
MIL loved the To The Women book and DH seemed quite tickled by his shoe warmers from Lidl.
I'm quite looking forward to DS's girlfriend opening her bits on Monday. He was a little concerned that I'd bought so much so had to assure him that I'd got some good bargains as I'd been buying for months. Thank you all for the recommendations and deals including Sushi Go, makeup brushes and socks from Amazon Haul and the No7 makeup palette from Boots.

Anyone bought Xmas present for next year yet?

I got a le creuset casserole for DH and pyjama shorts for DS in the John Lewis sale

Yes, Dream Potions on Amazon was a huge hit with my granddaughter. It’s currently about £16 but there’s a lot in there.

Going shopping today. Already placed two orders at Whistlefish for all my cards and wrao for next year (love their magnetic keepsake boxes, they made wrapping easy, and the contents look 'posher' IYSWIM) I bought these vinyl coasters for DD this year which went down a treat. Usually about £6 a set, and I've seen our local market traders selling them for a tenner. Currently £6.99 for a pack of two. Highly recommend. I've bought some more to put away for next years gifts.

I'm just waiting for a Haul offer to come online as I have a list of 'hits' from this year which I will definitely buy again and stash away. DD is in love with a little black cross body bag which I think was about 85p!!

I've picked up some men's t-shirts for ds birthday as we're off to the f1 in the summer.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/12/2025 09:22

The lazy panda boxers were a hit here. Sadly not in the sale.
the spoon crab was funny but it a bit rubbish to use.
that was the only thing I would say from the bargains that didn’t go down well

sadly no sale shopping for me as can’t dive while waiting for surgery. And won’t be in for parcels. I shall live vicariously through you guys

hby9628 · 27/12/2025 09:22

@toooldforbratyes I got a couple of beauty sets from M&S and some boots gift sets. I’m not going crazy too early but was pleased with what I got
I regret not getting a Neom set from M&S which was down to £25 from £50. It’s over £30 on JL sale.

Thank you for all the helpful posts. Most things really well received. One thing that I didn’t get that my eldest is after, is the primark demogorgan onesie. There are some on Vinted and eBay but more then we want to pay so if anyone is selling one on I’d be grateful. I believe OOS but going in today to check.

I have brought Christmas clothes for next year for DD and matching PJs for us all!
Also a dolly dressing sticker book for £1 which I think will be a stocking filler next year

Some gorgeous wrapping paper in tj hughes , all reduced to £1 , suspect they will further reduced later as well . 8 pack nice crackers from £5 to £1.50 in Morrisons, already have the gifts to add from haul . They did have 15p wrapping paper but only children’s Spider-Man and a Disney girls one .
