Non-Beauty Advent Calendar Opening Thread

Not sure if there's already a thread somewhere and I am just blind but for the first time ever, I have a slightly posh calendar.

Now, will admit it's just the Twinings Tea one (which I may have won as part off the November Postcode Lottery) but I'm really excited and wondered if those of us with non-beauty calendars might like to share our bounty?

I will continue to lurk on the other threads as they are strangely compelling to me but would also love some company as I drink my way through the 24 days of Advent!

That's uhm, unusual @Tealfish.. not sure it's a standalone meal, whatever they say.. although might be nice on toast? Very impressed with yours, @Tiredmumno1 - have you worked out the secret flavour yet. And sorry? Ginger Doritos? I'm not unadventurous when it comes to food - especially snack food 😁 - but I think I'd draw the line there!!

Bagmaking is such a lovely idea for a calendar, @Karatema - there really is one out there for everyone! I'd love to know which other Dystopian novels you've unboxed, @CorvidDreams, if you're still lurking!

My tea was, as expected, perfectly palatable and will no doubt do my innards good.. intrigued for tomorrow now!

Ooh.. now we're sort of talking 😁 and whilst not exactly a 'pick me up', I really like Sleep teas.. the Pukka one, in particular, is delicious.

I'm out for my works Xmas Do tonight which is going to be a relatively sedate one for me as I'm driving, so will look forward to this baby just before bed!

What on earth? What a peculiar item for an advent calendar - sure, it's healthy and probably not something you'd buy yourself but not for the usual reasons!!

Mine is an unusual one today - Heart Warming! Who knew tea could be so versatile? I think they should've 'advertised' this as a herbal tea calendar as still yet to come across any caffeine! I'm not complaining (much 😆), but might be nice...

I like the sound of that tea…not a fan of fruity teas as they always smell lovely but taste of very little but this one might actually taste of something.

That candle sounds like it would smell absolutely gorgeous, @saveforthat - like a delicious fruit cake, baking in the oven and infusing the whole house with that warming, deliciousness! Very jealous!

I'm getting a little collection of tea to drink as the last couple of nights, I've been lucky enough to have some festivities to attend! I should probably drink today's offering sooner rather than later as I am definitely on countdown to Xmas and should probably put a bit more focus into my job 😁

Oh I could definitely do with some focus. Just keep kicking things into next year.

I'm gathering quite a collection of wine now. I won't get chance to drink any tonight or tomorrow either as at parties.

I think Nigel Slater would approve of this one.

Last night, I had an unexpected surprise - I’ve won 3 advent calendars! Tea, coffee and Hot Chocolate. I won’t be opening them because I’ve given them to my sons and a friend 😀

guess what I got today, it actually made me smile after the conversation earlier in the thread. I may have it later to wash down yesterday’s treat 😋

Grim ….not in the Christmas spirit (in this house anyway 😂!)

I worked my way through my mini-stash and:

Focus - tasted ok but not overly strong, drank before a big team meeting in the hope it would help me focus buuut, didn't really work.

Heart Warming - really delicious (think it was the blackcurrant), would definitely drink again.

Sleep - not up to Pukka's standards but pretty nice. I'm quite tired after too much socialising but think this has definitely made me feel nice and drowsy!

Tomorrow marks halfway through Advent and its been really fun so far - hoping all our calendars up their game for the final furlong!

Can't get too excited about today's as I drink peppermint tea every day after dinner - when I don't have a tea calendar of course!

This smells divine and I haven't lit it yet.
