Non-Beauty Advent Calendar Opening Thread

Not sure if there's already a thread somewhere and I am just blind but for the first time ever, I have a slightly posh calendar.

Now, will admit it's just the Twinings Tea one (which I may have won as part off the November Postcode Lottery) but I'm really excited and wondered if those of us with non-beauty calendars might like to share our bounty?

I will continue to lurk on the other threads as they are strangely compelling to me but would also love some company as I drink my way through the 24 days of Advent!

Love Bonne Maman! Will keep an eye out for that next year I think.

Oolong tea for me today

Am loving all of this tea, candles and Jam!

I have a wax melt calendar yesterday wss a christmas tree smelly one and today toffee nut latte ...which has made kitchen/office smell like Ferrero rocher (to me anyhow). I much prefer the non choc/beauty ones I think.

Had my Unwind tea alongside my little bell shaped malteaser - it was really nice and most needed.

I love your family calendar @Tealfish - it must be pretty mahoosive as those look full size - lots of yummy truffles. That's something that my tea one perhaps lacks, the prettiness and the different sized boxes/doors - the Beauty Calendars are works of art!

St Ival candle today is hawthorn and berries with a hint of rose.

Haha I have the other one 😊 shall post a pic. You are right the box is huge, couldn’t believe it when it was delivered 😁. Very impressed they are big products. Yesterday I got the Truestart Coffee, and today the St Dalfour strawberry jam 😋

In my homemade AC from DCs, I got Method pink grapefruit hand wash (I love this) and funnily enough both DCs and I independently put a scratchcard in Day 2 of our ACs for DH! (Sadly he didn’t win anything). In the advents for my DCs there were mini bags of chocolate fingers/mini Percy pig cookies/skittles etc according to their favourites.

Quite an unexciting one today - Camomile.. but always welcome as a drink before bed.

It won't be drunk today though as its mine and my bf's Xmas Do so off out for a 'conveyor belt' meal at a local pub followed by Am Dram Panto - I can't wait, one of my most favourite days of the year!

Today's wine. Looking forward to drinking a few of these over the weekend.

Day of the Triffids is great but The Chrysalids in my opinion even better, if you haven't read it.

I've stopped being able to read much dystopian fiction these days, the world often feels too much like we're going in that direction. But I used to read loads!

I have Pact coffee so every morning I get different beans to grind and brew. Resisted the beauty calendars this year.

I’m loving your advent calendar @CorvidDreams. My favourite dystopian book is Station Eleven.

Today in their homemade ACs my DCs all had a variety of hair bobbles (as they all have long hair, male or female!) From them I had Maryland mini cookies. DH had a salted chocolate heart tiny chocolate in his AC from me.

Today's St Ival tealight today is Green Vine. A summers greenhouse on a lazy day.

I have a cheese calendar, a different cheese every day. Today was Cropwell blue, yesterday was pecorino and the first one was a posh cheddar. Quite big pieces so DH and I don't get through the whole piece every day. It is from Paxton and Whitfield.

These all sound amazing, and much more interesting than the beauty ones (though I have a soft spot for them, too, I will admit)

😁 neither will I. DH and the eldest will use them, so they won’t get wasted. I am just finding it fun that it is all a mystery 😊 will open the next one in a bit.
