I don't know about anyone else but I find I struggle to think of gift ideas for myself (I have bday just after xmas so I get double trouble).

I've always found these threads quite helpful in sharing what others are getting for inspiration. I hope to maybe get a couple of these things if I'm lucky...

For pyjamas that don't leave me with a cold back I really like the Next Tall range. They do 100% cotton ones.

All I have thought of so far is a change robe, and wetsuit gloves and socks so I can carry on outdoor swimming through winter.

Oh and anything from Shell on Earth. They do lovely houseplant and homeward related things

mum2jakie · 10/10/2025 07:30

The latest flavoured Baileys - Terry's Chocolate Orange flavour Baileys! 😍

Also an Agatha Christie puzzle book.

OH plans to buy more some headphones so I stop disturbing him in bed.

londongirl12 · 09/10/2025 20:20

Can you let me know if you can actually sleep on your side wearing them? If currently sleep with just one ear in on my normal earphones, but that doesn’t help when DH is snoring!!!

You need a Snoozeband. They are fabulous for this.
I have no idea what I want (I do need some new makeup but not sure DH would attempt that).

hattie43 · 10/10/2025 07:37

I would like a Jo Loves advent Calendar a diptique advent Calendar
A new pair of Dr Martens I’ve seen
A new pair of Birkenstock clogs
Copious amounts of Lego
A toblerone
TBF the only way I’d get all this is if I bought them myself but it seems rather indulgent

Missingducks · 10/10/2025 07:39

We are in the middle of spending bucket loads on the house - for Christmas I would like a box of maltesers and a booking for a weekend away in Spring.

MNNnnn · 10/10/2025 07:42

DrowningInSyrup · 09/10/2025 21:15

What I would absolutely love is if everyone could club together and cancel Christmas for 5-10 years. It's awful.

I don't like asking for specific gifts as it seems grasping
I don't like receiving gifts because I never want them
I don't like giving gifts because they never want them
It's tedious and the same every year
We always get snowed in and lose power in my rural location
It's competitive with what the kids will get
The kids never play with the stuff they get
Baby Jesus didn't exist
If he did and he died for our sins, then what did that really achieve?
We lied to our children about the existence of Santa claus
We now ask them to lie about the existence of Santa claus
Elf on a shelf is a little twat
101 other reasons.

Edited

That's the spirit 😄

Do you realise those earphones in rose colour are currently £31 down from £129? Buy them before they go back up!

All the reviews on Amazon look fake. They seem to be paid "influencers" if you look at the history.

Ophy83 · 10/10/2025 07:48

Mostly just to move house. We are living in a groundhog day of waiting to exchange, confirming we are ready then waiting to see what our buyer's solicitor has done to mess things up this time e.g
given the wrong date to the bank etc.

If by some miracle we are nicely settled in then I'd like:
Tickets to something (theatre/music event / escape room type thing)
Birkenstock shoes
Something snuggly to wear like a lovely cashmere jumper
A great book- if I haven't already bought it for myself before then (which tbh I'm unlikely to be able to resist) this could be the final in the Book of Dust trilogy.

QuantumLeek · 10/10/2025 07:51

DH and I have a £25 limit. Maybe a plant?

I’d like a subscription to English Gardens, some big terracotta pots, funny tea towel, beeswax candles, cookbooks, really nice socks, Ortigia soaps, lovely bedding from Cologne & Cotton, some sort of thing to make- maybe a tapestry. Voluminous cotton nightdress that I can wander round the garden in like some sort of nature goddess/nut.

QuantumLeek · 10/10/2025 07:51

Book of SAS survival skills.

Sourisblanche · 10/10/2025 07:52

Some Burleigh pottery.

Alongthetowpath · 10/10/2025 07:53

I’m not too far past 45.

I would like a zip up cashmere hoodie
Trainers
A smart winter coat
A set of beautiful stoneware bowls for me to eat my breakfast porridge - last one of the existing set has just recently broken and I’m missing it every morning.

I always appreciate (in a way that makes me sound decades past 45)
posh marmalade
lovely-smelling soap bars
Hotel chocolat little chocolates- carrot cake or apple strudle or cherry.
Soft socks
Books

BestIsWest · 10/10/2025 08:00

I’d like
David Austin Roses - Elizabeth and The Poet’s Wife.
New paintbrushes.
A drawing board and some new drawing pens.
A tiny fridge for the bedroom.
Some Fitflop slippers.
Cashmere snood.

SomethingFun · 10/10/2025 08:03

Everyone sounds so grown up 😁 I’ve got some theatre tickets which will be part of my Xmas present so they can come out of the Xmas budget. I’ll get some skincare as well as there’s usually deals on before Xmas. Maybe some smellies from Neom.

I’d love to want special gardening things and know what those things are but I’m a terrible gardener 😁

BellissimoGecko · 10/10/2025 08:03

Ooh, great thread! I’d like:

Hand cream - for my handbag
Spa day
Calm hand wash - I love the M&S Calm range!
Milk frother
Voya dreams body oil
Lip balm
Small perfumes for handbag
Pea shoots
Elemis marine collagen moisturiser
L’Oréal extraordinary hair oil

reluctantbrit · 10/10/2025 08:08

DH and DD have the double trouble of me having a birthday and Christmas in the same month.

I plan to ask for a new iphone, mine is 5 years old and the battery starts to be crap so I can justify it.

I will ask DD for the Lego cherry blossom flowers, she got them last Christmas from her grandparents and they were on display downstairs until she took them to uni and I miss them.

We are visiting a German Christmas Market over my birthday so I told DH I will buy something there as my birthday gift and he can't object.

The book I originally looked to ask for - I will attend an author talk when it launches and ordered the signed book, so I need to think of another one.

A wall calendar for the home office

KitWyn · 10/10/2025 08:08

I would like:

  1. A family-size bag of posh Salt & Vinegar Crisps all to myself
  2. Uniqlo cashmere beanie hat in Grey
  3. Richard Ayoade's new book 'Afterthoughts - Some pistachios won't open'
  4. We Rate Dogs! Day-to-Day 2026 Calendar
  5. Boots Lip Sleep Masks mini collection
  6. M&S Sloe Gin & a Set of their 2 Footed Hi Ball Glasses in Green
  7. Decathlon Soft Dumbbell Set (2kg, Navy)

Thank you!

Ohh thanks, just ordered myself a pair (but not in pink!)

I’m 39 and I want an inflatable kayak. I don’t live near any decent water and I can’t actually Kayak all that well but it’s what I want.

DH thinks it will get used once then collect dust. (He may be right).

You can have mine. It’s been used once and is gathering dust. So props to your DH.

Biffsboys · 10/10/2025 08:23

I`d like a pair of birkenstock siena and some Elemis skincare

cinnamonda · 10/10/2025 08:27

almost everyone here listing 5-10 things they want for Xmas, why so many? What is the point in so many things?

Because it's nice to have nice things from people who love us? Or even ourselves? We might not get everything but many lists are of inexpensive items.

arcticpandas · 10/10/2025 08:42

This is difficult. I just want books and chocolate. I do need a coat but I hate to be looking for one. If someone knows something classic, discreet and warm for a 40 year old size 10/12 that covers the bum..

You sound like the life and soul of the party 😬

FurForksSake · 10/10/2025 08:52

I will receive from my husband something I want / need/ wear / read. I’ll then have a stocking; this will contain expensive stuff, not stocking stuffers, so perfume, expensive shower gel, cashmere socks etc.

The other items I listed are things I’ll suggest to my children and family to buy me.
