@Iliketulips Iโ€™ll be hosting 10 Christmas Eve buffet tea then the same Christmas morning - pastries and Bucks Fizz and then everyone for Christmas dinner. Later on Iโ€™ll slob on the sofa with wine and try not to gorge on Ferrero Rocher.
Might get some J2O for the dgc if thereโ€™s room in the fridge ๐Ÿ˜‚

I first read that as J2O for the dog, and thought wtf?

I love a Christmas fridge thread, the only thing that annoys me is all the margarine and spreadable butter! Its Christmas buy proper block salted butter, treat yourselves ๐Ÿ˜‚

Forget block butter, Morrisons had a Santa shaped butter yesterday ๐Ÿ˜‚ Had to physically restrain myself as we're away from today until Jan, but I wanted it SO BADLY ๐Ÿฅฒ

I went to Tesco this morning to spend a ยฃ9 off ยฃ60 voucher, and holy shit the place was RAMMED. I stocked up the cupboards and freezer a bit, and got the 15p sprouts, broccoli and 2 bags of the potatoes. We don't really need that many spuds, but for 15p I couldn't say no.
I'm away for the weekend as of first thing tomorrow, but will do a small "fresh bits" shop early on the 23rd at my nearest decent supermarket, which happens to be a Waitrose.

In all honesty, we tend to do our main "pigging out" in that dead zone between Boxing Day and NYE. I'll do some shopping for that on the 27th or 28th.

Cattery · 20/12/2024 13:24

Hereโ€™s mine. Went into battle at Tesco today and managed to get out unscathed. No turkey as we are out Christmas Day but hoping I get 10/10 for my stacking/jenga skills. Box of beers is elsewhere x

I love the Boursin clinging on for dear life in the door ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ‘Œ Yes impeccable jenga skills there!

Fantastic organisation. Itโ€™s a 10 from me.

Those are good sized Yorkshire puddings. Approved โ˜‘๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜‚

IggyAce · 20/12/2024 15:01

Went shopping last night got cheese, pate and cured meats, Iโ€™ll post a photo once Iโ€™ve got the rest, probably by Sunday. Want to get some party food but the dates in Asda were just before Christmas, so hopefully a couple more days and theyโ€™ll be after Christmas.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 20/12/2024 15:02

I've actually found last year's Christmas puds, which I'd mislaid.

They're not out of date till April 25, so all good here.

Turkey coming on Sunday. I shall return.

Chuckled at the bottle of made-up squash in the door! Reminds me of my mum!

Here is mine! It brings me a lot of joy looking at it. Just fresh vegetables to buy as we have a joint of gammon and some beef in the freezer.

This is the first year I've seen this thread. Loving it so far!

I've gone early and my main shopping is being delivered tomorrow. I'm desperately checking these photos to see if I need to add anything to my order this eve!

Has anyone got any particular recommendations from Sainsbury's?!

Roystonv · 20/12/2024 16:51

Found the bottom of our fridge flooded, dh to the rescue with his twisty wire to clean the hole thing out at the back and all is good - breaths sigh of relief. All excellent fridges to date.
